Amber checked herself once more in her mirror before turning to find her wand. It was finally the day; her big date with Ethan. Being both Gryffindors they had planned on meeting in the common room at around noon, just before the carriages left for Hogsmeade and Amber had no intention in breaking that plan. She loved this part. Her hair and her make up, picking out a dress, and comparing them with Ryann and Sisi. Her shoes needed to match and her hair needed to be just right. Amber wasn't the nervous type and this was no exception, but she did enjoy getting dressed up a bit too much. She loved spending as much time as was allowed to get ready.
Finally, it was nearly noon and Amber had to look once more into the mirror. One more check to see if everything was perfect. Her make up, done by both magic and hand, was flawless (thanks to the magic part) and her hair was just about the same. Her light blond hair was up in a messy bun, the ends curled just a bit. Usually this style wasn't very nice looking, but Amber was a witch and she knew just how to tweak it with just the right spell to get it just right. Her braces were another worry, however. Amber hated the metal wires and how they constantly felt dirty. Even if they were clean. She was constantly brushing her teeth or washing out her mouth after meals. It was annoying. Not only to her, but to her friends as well. They could be having the best conversation in the world and Amber would have to excuse herself to wash out her mouth. For her date, however, Amber made sure that her teeth her spotless from any type of food. She had scrubbed and scrubbed with that worn down tooth brush and finally got her mouth as clean as she wanted. Her smile was bright as it usually was, but with the light reflecting off of her braces, she was practically shimmering.
Her outfit was simple and yet showed off just the right amount of skin. Her favorite red and gold plaid mini skirt with solid red knee socks and her white, off the shoulder top with her Gryffindor tie was perfect. She loved it. And with a quick motion, Amber slipped on her shoes and grabbed her cloak. It was getting cold out and she didn't want to freeze. Although the cold may be a nice advantage. Amber smiled a bit imaging Ethan's arm around her to keep her warm. She sighed and giggled, excitement running through her. Why was dating so fun?
She practically skipped out of the dormitory, but found her calm half way down the staircase. Glancing around the Common Room, Amber didn't see Ethan yet. So she leaned against the wall by the Portrait Hole and waited. Her hands playing with one of the buttons on her cloak.

Ethan yawned as he rose from his bed early in the afternoon. He glanced at the clock next to him (which was partially broken from all the times Ethan had beaten it to death in the mornings.) and groaned. It was about eleven thirty and Ethan should still have been sleeping. The weekends were normally a time when Ethan stayed up until three in the morning and awoke later into the afternoon. But today was different. Today, he had a date with Amber Hess, a sixth year of his house. Ethan couldn’t complain though, for it was he who had chosen to meet at Hogsmeade and it was he who had chosen to go at noon. Ethan couldn’t complain for the earliness of it all. He dug through his trunk looking for something to wear. Ethan was never one of those pretty boys who spent hours on his hair and outfit…that was the girl’s job. Ethan didn’t doll himself up the way girls (and some boys) did. He simply found his favorite pair of jeans and a black t-shirt and leather jacket. The jeans slipped loosely around his waist and the shirt (which was a bit tight and accented his incredible abs) fit Ethan comfortably. He slipped his jacket on over the shirt and walked over to the bathroom near his dorm. He brushed his teeth quickly but efficiently and smiled confidently into the mirror. He dug down deep into his trunk to find a small bottle of clear blue liquid and dabbed it on himself. Ethan knew when people tried too hard. He hated the act. He understood that people tried hard to impress their dates, but sometimes they just didn’t know when to stop. Ethan often saw young third and fourth year boys who strutted around the castle smelling like they had bathed in cologne and wearing party clothes that would only be covered by school robes. Ethan was smart enough to know when enough was enough…in most cases at least. Sometimes at his parties Ethan would indulge a bit too much and bitterly regret it the next day. It wasn’t his fault so many people decided to bring beer and all those other alcoholic beverages. He couldn’t control what was being served at his parties, but he could control how much of it he drank…if he wanted to anyway. Normally Ethan just didn’t care. He indulged all he wanted, knowing it was wrong but never had enough sense to stop. It was much like the situation with Ezzie.
She had been the one who had broken up with him, and to get back at her, Ethan was constantly showing Amber off in front of her. He wanted to show her what a real girlfriend should be like. Deep down, he knew treating Amber and Ezzie like this was wrong, but somehow he couldn't stop himself. Ethan knew deep down that Ezzie still liked him and that he still liked her. He may not have wanted to admit it to himself yet, but he did. Amber was nothing compared to Ezzie, and no matter how hard Ethan tried to push the thoughts away, the rebelling voices came back once more. It was the angel devil thing all over again. The angel Ethan told him not to listen to the devil and to go enjoy his date with Amber. He told Ethan that she was perfect for him, and that she was a far step better than Ezzie would ever be. She was too young and immature for Ethan and he was better off without her. The devil said otherwise. The devil whispered seductively that he still loved Ezzie and going on dates with other girls would never change that. The devil Ethan even went as far as saying he should date both girls and then possibly go for a whiskey with the guys after both dates. The devil Ethan did tend to be very funny at times, but not someone Ethan normally listened to. (What lies, everyone knows Ethan would always take the side of the devil, but obviously not in this case) Ethan walked down to the common room, an imaginary halo suspended over his head. He reached the bottom step and opened the door into the Gryffindor common room where he immediately noticed Amber, leaning against the wall looking stunning in her little skirt and shirt. He let out a long wolf whistle, and walked toward her.
“Why, if it isn’t Amber Hess?” He said, unable to take his eyes off her. “My, do you look stunning today.” Ethan said in his fake French accent. Next to his flirtatious habits, Ethan was always known for his impressions. He knew by experience that girls found it both funny and romantic when he talked to them with the manners of a French gentleman. He glanced at the grandfather clock that stood proudly on the wall next to Amber. It was only ten passed noon. If they hurried, they could make it to the carriages on time.
“I hope I didn’t keep you waiting too long. I know I was late. Although…if we do hurry, I could get us a nice private carriage.” He said, dropping the accent, but holding out his hand for Amber to take so they could get going. He didn’t go anywhere with a girl (unless she was just a friend) without her hand wrapped lovingly in his.

She heard the whistle before she noticed Ethan standing at the foot of the boy's staircase. She looked up instantly, her eyes searching for the owner of the sound. Ethan began walking toward her and Amber felt her body relax against the wall. He looked great, of course. His hair was messy, but in a good way and Amber loved that. Her fingers instantly wanted to run through those lovely dark brown strands. She fought the urge, however, and waited for him to reach her.
His greeting was amusing, which was a good thing. Amber couldn't stand stuffy boys. If he made her smile, laugh, or giggle, then they definately had a chance. Otherwise... too bad. Amber giggled as he imitated a French accent to compliment her. It wasn't a bad impression, either. Her blue eyes glissened as she looked up at him. She liked how much his showed and wondered what they didn't. It wasn't a gift of Amber's. She wasn't very good at reading people. There are times when things aren't what they seem, but does Amber see those? No, she only sees what the person wants them to. If anything, it's a curse. Never knowing what people are thinking. How could she know if Ethan was going to hurt her or not? She didn't and that would scare anyone.
Ethan glanced at the clock next to Amber and her own blue eyes followed to check the time as well. His apology for being late only made her shrug. He wasn't that late, really. She smiled as he continued, suggesting a private carraige. She giggled and nodded. His hand reached out for her own and Amber's heart skipped. She smiled and looked up at him while she slipped her hand into his, lacing her fingers with his. The thing with Amber is she isn't trully comfortable holding someone's hand unless their fingers are laced. Even if it's just Sisi. If she holds their hand, she laces her fingers. It's how it goes.
She smiled at him and playfully tilted her head.
"Shall we?"

Ethan smiled as Amber took his hand and they walked together out of the common room. As they entered the seventh floor corridor, Ethan greeted The Fat Lady with a smile and a wave. “Good day to you too, Mr. Jacobs!” She called out as Ethan and Amber walked along. She shook her head as she watched the couple walk off down the corridor. “I swear, that boy is so odd. He’s with a new girl every week.” He merely smiled when the Fat Lady said this, and kept on walking. Amber was different. He wasn’t going to dump her after a week for some random reason, he wasn’t going to just break her heart and make her cry like he had with various girls last year. He was going to stick with her, no matter what. After all the drama that had happened with Ezzie, Ethan just wanted a normal relationship. But how could he do that when everyone was constantly staring and pointing? Ethan didn’t mind at all, but he was sure Amber would feel very awkward under the spotlight. His girlfriends were either very shy around the public, or overly open. He thought back to the muggle girls he had dated over the pass few summers. Most of them were only dating Ethan for their five minutes of fame…and of course, his money. They always asked to go to the finest places and when a group of paparazzi approached them, they would jump in front of the camera and arrogantly introduce themselves. Every time such things happened, Ethan dropped the girl and moved on to someone else. “Just ignore the stares, pretend they’re not there. They’re just jealous because I have got the prettiest girl in the world holding my hand. You see how they whisper?” Ethan joked.
The couple had barely left the common room when they were greeted by a crowd of many kids that were on their way to Hogsmeade as well. They were walking through the halls and the second they saw Ethan and Amber, they stopped dead in their tracks to stare and whisper to each other. Ethan merely shrugged it off and walked confidently along the Halls until he reached the giant oak front doors that led out to the neat row of carriages. The carriages were beautiful and comfortable and were pulled by invisible beings…testrols or something like that. He never really paid attention in Care of Magical Creatures class, but he remembered having a lesson on them. He noticed one empty carriage at the very back of the line and helped Amber onto it, then lifting his body up onto it. “So, where do you want to go first? I was thinking maybe the Three Broomsticks, but they do tend to be crowded.” He sighed as the carriage started to move over in the direction of Hogsmeade. In the distance, he could see a large crowd of people near the entrance of Hogsmeade village. He turned away, figuring it was nothing more than a few Hogwarts students and turned to look into Amber’s clear blue eyes. She did have beautiful eyes. He was surprised he had never really noticed them before. He always used to think eyes were the portal into one’s soul, and taking a moment to look into them would give Ethan a small peek into what was really going on inside the mind of Amber Hess. He could see the doubt glistening in her eyes, the unsure feeling of whether or not she could trust Ethan with her heart. He gave her a small grin as if showing her subtly that she could trust Ethan and that he would never let her down…not intentionally anyway. He sighed a bit, trying to think of something to break the awkward silence.

Amber couldn't help return Ethan's smile as their hands locked. Her fingers trembled slightly, but in a good way. It was nice to be holding someone's hand after so much time without it. She gave him a wide eyed, innocent look as they left the Common Room. That was her way of showing off her greatest attribute; her eyes. Those incredibly blue eyes, the eyes that everyone notices, but not always at first. Sometimes people notice it right away, but other times it comes as a surprise to others. She doesn't mind, just as long as they notice eventually. It would be a shame to go so long without seeing those great blues. True, she was a bit too proud of them, but why not be?
As they passed the Fat Lady, she greeted Ethan while sitting with a friend from another portrait. Amber smile again, only at the woman in the picture, the guardian of the Common Room. It was what the woman said next that sent a shiver of doubt through Amber yet again. Why was it that everyone noticed his dating habits? Was she going to be just another of Ethan's flings? She shook the thoughts from her mind and decided to just ignore it all. This was her chance at happiness too. Every first date is the start of something. Whether good or bad. Let's just hope it's good for Amber's sake.
It was rather weird for Amber as they walked down the corridors and hallways, making their way toward the Great Hall. Nearly every student was pointing or whispering. Rather than feeling awkward, she was really just curious. In all her years of knowing Ethan (well, knowing of him) she never once heard a believable rumor as to how he got his fame. Most of them were silly and ridiculous, but she had to wonder. What was his real story? Maybe she would find out. Ethan joked about ignoring the stares and why they're whispering. Amber smiled and shook her head, a slight giggle escaping her lips. Her tongue automatically traced her braces as her smile came to an end. It is more than just a burden, braces. They're constantly dirty and Amber wondered if boys would ever want to kiss her with them!
Amber's worries stopped dead at the next sight that greeted them. A crowd of students, also on their way to Hogsmead, instantly stopped walking at the sight of Ethan and Amber. Amber raised an eyebrow and wanted to ask what their problem was, but Ethan led her on, ignoring the stares with professional-like skill. Amber glared at a few of the more rude students and walked on with Ethan. She was rather insulted, actually. Who were they to judge Ethan? Or even herself! Every teenager dates like that. Amber shook her head, trying to ignore the anger building in her.
Once the two reached the carriages, however, Amber had forgotten her anger and excitement replaced it. Ethan helped her into one of the carriages and climbed in himself. She smiled as Ethan asked where to go first. He commented on the Three Broomsticks and Amber thought for a moment.
"Well, I always liked this little cafe that Sicilia's grandparents own, but since her grandmother got sick they shut it down." Amber could only think how sorry she was for Sicilia's grandparents. Her friend was really depressed about it, even if no one could tell, "I don't really care where. The Three Broomsticks sounds good."
((Sorry it took me so long!!!))

Ethan smiled as Amber boarded the carriage. He had led Amber to believe that they were going to The Three Broomsticks, when in fact, this carriage would be taking the couple elsewhere. Ethan had a special spot set for his date with Amber that he was sure she would love. Down by the actual homes in Hogsmeade, there was a secret spot. It was sort of like a small park, only it was in the middle of the very busy villiage that was Hogsmeade. It was far beyond the town and the stores in Hogsmeade and it was an area that was more for the locals who lived in Hogsmeade, rather than the students who came to visit it. He smiled a bit as Amber talked about this little shop her friend’s parents used to own. Deep in his mind though, he was thinking about how much she would love the setup he had for her. The carriage would only take them as far as the beginning of the town, and then Ethan had one tall beautiful white horse waiting for them behind his second home. This house was one his father had recently bought for when he visited Ethan during the school year. The house was unoccupied for a while, and if Ethan and Amber grew tired of the beautiful scenery and the delicious picnic (which he doubted) they could always go inside the house and enjoy some quiet time in Ethan’s second home. He knew Amber would love it; she just had to. She seemed like the type of person who would love such things. He couldn’t help but remember who he had originally created this date for. This date was originally supposed to be “a thanks for taking me back” date for him and Ezzie. But Ethan and Ezzie were no longer a couple. They had both moved on…or a least Ethan had. It could just be Ethan’s conceited thoughts taking over, but he was sure Ezzie still liked him.
The carriage suddenly broke off the trail that the others followed, and Ethan attempted to distract Amber from the fact that they weren’t going where everyone else was. “God, is she okay? It would be horrible if she were really sick. I can’t sand to see a sick person.” Ethan said sincerely. He actually did mean what he said, even though half the reason he said it was because he was trying to distract Amber from the path the carriage was headed in. He didn’t want Amber to see the horse before the carriage stopped in front of it. He wanted it to be a complete surprise for her. “My grandfather died a couple years back, and even though no one liked the guy much, I still couldn’t stand to see him on his deathbed. My granddad wasn’t exactly the most perfect parent. My dad hated him back when he was a kid. It was still a pretty sad funeral though.” Ethan remembered all the heated arguments his father and his mother shared with his grandfather. Grandpa Jacobs just didn’t seem to understand that Ethan’s dad was happy with the half-blood woman that he married. Grandpa Jacobs was one of the most pureblooded wizards the world has ever seen. He didn’t approve of Mr. Jacobs marrying Amanda, and he definitely didn’t approve of the births of Ethan and his late older sister Jessie. Ethan didn’t even want to think about Jessie right now. Thinking about Jessie had always gotten Ethan upset, and he really didn’t want to be upset at the moment. All he wanted to do was have a good time on his date with Amber, as his older sister watched down on him from the heavens. He wanted to forget about all his problems and deal with them when he didn’t have other people around. He mentally shrugged off the depressing thoughts and gave Amber a smile as they approached a row of small cottages. Behind one of them, was Ethan and Amber’s horse. Coincidentally, the horse was named Romance. Ethan smiled at the thought.
“Hey, Amber...” Ethan said, as the carriage started to slow down in front of his Hogsmeade home. Romance was tied to a large beautiful tree that stood just next to the large handsome home. “Look outside. I’ve got a surprise for you.”

Amber felt pity for her friend, Sisi. Her poor grandmother, well... Madame Bissell wasn't really her grandmother. Sicilia and her mother are actually Italian, but the Bissells' had taken them in when Vesta (Sicilia's mother) was stranded and pregnant. Sicilia knows all of this, but it never stopped her from loving them like blood family.Amber envied her friend's simple family. Amber's family was rather large and full of confusion. Her father and mother divorced when she was only 2 years old, she has an older sister who her mother had when she was 16, and both parents are remarried, adding more grandparents and cousins onto the family tree.
When Ethan showed real concern for Sicilia's grandmother, Amber smiled sadly. He was hoping that she wasn't really sick, but it was true. "No... she's really very sick. The healers at St. Mungo's can't do anything. They think she only has a few months left." Amber sighed. What a depressing thought! She shook her head, trying to rid her mind of such feelings. This was a date, where she should be having fun. However, Ethan began his own story about his grandfather's death and Amber felt more pity glimmer in her eyes. Losing grandparents is hard for anyone. She wouldn't know from personal experience; her grandparents are all still alive and kicking (all five pairs), so she hadn't felt that loss. However, she knew if must be hard.
Amber didn't say anything when Ethan had finished telling about his grandfather. She didn't know what to say, so she played with her cloak yet again. That is, she played with them until Ethan caught her attention. She looked up at him when he said her name and let her eyes travel outside the window where Ethan bid her look. She gasped. The beautiful white horse was tethered to a rather large tree and somehow Amber knew it was for their date. She glanced around. How had she not noticed that the carriage had broken away from the rest and taken them somewhere else? Her face broke into a huge smile, her braces glimmering.
"No way!" She had nothing else to say.

Ethan smiled as Amber looked out of the carriage window to see Romance. She stood proudly by that tree, and while he knew Romance to be a very conceited horse, (she wouldn’t even step in a small pile of dirt.) he knew she was gentle. She would never buck anyone off or go the wrong way. Romance was a sweet horse. His mother owned a stable and Romance had been Alexander’s wedding gift to Amanda on the day of their wedding. He walked Amber out of the carriage and onto the front lawn of the Jacobs summer home. He stroked Romance and fed her a carrot. “You know, Romance was a gift given to my mum on her wedding day. My dad gave it to her. She’s been in the family ever since.” Romance walked graciously over to Amber. “I think she likes you. But, I’m afraid we’re going to have to ride her soon if we want to get to my secret spot.” He said with a mysterious smile. He could already tell Amber was enjoying the date. But who wouldn’t? After all, who wouldn’t be impressed if their date presented them with a pony and a picnic? Ethan would have been stunned if he were Amber.
“So, let’s get on this lovely creature so we can get out of here. I don’t know about you, but I’m really hungry.” Ethan smiled as he helped Amber onto Romance’s back. He then propped himself up right in front of Amber. “Hold on tight, I really don’t think you want a trip to the Hospital Wing to be included in tonight’s events. That would definitely put a damper on things, wouldn’t it?” He said as he glanced around the neighborhood. He couldn’t quite remember exactly where the secret spot was, but Romance had been taught the way many times before. She had to know the way by now. Ethan lightly kicked Romance’s side and she took off. Ethan looked behind him to see how Amber was taking all this in.
((I think it’s just about the shortest post ever...sorry. I’m not really in an Ethan mood right now.))

Amber's eyes twinkled and she couldn't stop smiling. Why would he go through so much trouble? She didn't care. All she cared about was how much fun she was having at that very moment. She giggled as Ethan helped her out of the carraige and walked over to the magnificant horse. She wanted to skip, she was so excited. Amber is and always will be a gentle person who loves just about everything. And with just one look at that horse, she knew she loved it already. She looked over at Ethan as he told her how the horse came into the family. She smiled, her name was Romance. Suddenly the horse walked over to Amber and she felt a soft smile creep onto her lips. Romance was so beautiful that Amber couldn't help but run her fingers through the long, soft mane of hair.
Wait... what? Amber stopped petting the horse and looked over to Ethan, surprised by his words.
"Secret spot?" She felt her excitement blossom again and let Ethan help her onto Romance. Warning about holding on tight, Ethan lightly kicked his horse's side. Amber squealed when Romance started forward and tightened her hold on Ethan's waist. Her face was beaming as she looked around the residential houses of Hogsmeade. It was so beautiful and she'd never felt happier.
((yeah... pretty much; mine's shorter haha)

Ethan beamed. Amber’s grin couldn’t have been bigger at the sight of the horse. But Amber had no idea what surprises awaited her that day. Ethan was known for his spontaneous personality, and that was one reputation he wanted to keep. He wasn’t really sure what to think of the reputation he had earned over the years. He had been called many things. Some of them were positive comments, but he knew full well that there were a large group of people that absolutely hated him. Ethan had heard his share of negative comments as well. There was the “flirty boy” reputation of course. Most girls who didn’t have air between their ears tended to put their guard up when Ethan approached them. They had all been forewarned of Ethan’s “heartbreaker ladies man” reputation. They didn’t trust him, and he could perfectly understand why. He was constantly moving around from girl to girl, trying them out and then throwing them away like yesterday’s trash. Ethan couldn’t help it. It was his style. He was testing the waters to see what was out there for him. He was trying to break away from this habit, but it was hard to change. He had to get used to staying with one girl. He had to get used to learning to trust them and spend time doing things other than kissing. He had almost achieved his goal with Ezzie, but she didn’t trust him at all. She was constantly suspicious and never knew exactly what was going on. She never believed a word that Ethan said and she tended to believe every single thing she heard from random people at Hogwarts. Ethan was sure he would do better this time. He wanted to break away and change everything about himself. He wanted to be famous worldwide for something other than his parents. That would be good. Ethan wasn’t really exceptionally good at much. He was a great skateboarder and he was okay with his guitar, but he wasn’t really good at anything that would make him famous. He wanted his own talents, away from his parents. His mother and father had done it, so why couldn’t he?
Ethan lightly kicked Romance’s side and she immediately trotted off into the direction of the small secluded forest. The second he kicked off, Amber squealed and gripped his waist tightly. She had a strong firm grip, but that was probably because she was scared to fall off. After all, Romance was a tall horse. The fall would be painful, but Ethan was sure he could protect Amber. Romance was a gentle horse anyway. She didn’t go nearly as fast as she wanted to. He stroked her long mane of white hair as the couple and the horse trotted off into the early afternoon sun. A few short minutes later, they had arrived at an area where the pavement ended, and a dirt road began. “Are you ready for the most beautiful sight in the world?” Ethan asked, turning around to face Amber. “…other than you of course.” He added with a charming smile. He could barely see the shadow of the picnic basket and the candles (which were unlit for the moment) the setup was just by a small lake that only expanded about ten or fifteen feet. The area was so small, that it was probably only big enough for two people to occupy. It was a relaxed and comfortable space though. He was sure they’d have a good time there. He smiled as he imagined the look on Amber's face when she saw his next surprise.

Even the air smelled wonderful as Romance galloped somewhere unknown to everyone but Ethan. Amber's good humor could only increase at this point, she was so happy. No boy had ever planned such a date and gone through so much trouble just for her. She didn't care if it was planned for Ezzie or if he had thought it up on the spot for her. All she cared about was that he had done it for her and there she was, on the back of his horse, destined for some unknown spot. Her smile couldn't get bigger, yet it did when he turned to get her more excited about what lay next.
"Are you ready for the most beautiful sight in the world?” Ethan asked, Amber giggled her answer and barely heard his cheesy comment about how she was more beautiful than whatever was next. She smiled and hugged him around the waist as a way of saying thank you for the compliment.
As Romance followed a dirt road toward a small lake where the shadows of what could be a picnic set up, Amber's eyes widened. She couldn't believe how wonderful the sunset accented the scene before them. She smiled and shook her head. No way... was all she could think. Her smile showed her excitement. Her eyes wanted to look everywhere. She needed every detail in memory or she would regret it.
Just as she drinking in the entire sight, a shadowy figure caught her eye. She looked over at what looked like a girl walking close to the scene. Amber narrowed her eyes, trying to catch who it was, but it was useless. The girl was too far away. Amber's heart suddenly dropped, however, as a thought reached her. What if it was Ezzie? She bit her lip. Hopefully, Ezzie wouldn't recognize her or Amber might have to deal with some jealous ex-girlfriend drama... She shook her head, trying to forget the worries that clogged her mind.
EDIT: oops... forgot the part about Ezzie...[/b]

Ethan watched din delight as Amber’s face lit up at the sight of the wonderful scene. Ethan was always known to be extravagant and take things to the next level; unless it involved school of course. When it came to his studies, Ethan was just downright lazy. He rarely did his work, and that was if he even came to class. Most of the time, he just hung around the Grounds, enjoying his time at Hogwarts. Ethan sat down and began to open the picnic basket. Ethan remembered casting a spell on the basket so it could hold everything that was on the Gryffindor table at school, and still have room for more. He reached in and began looking for the plates and silverware when he saw Amber was still standing, looking over Ethan’s shoulder at a shadowy figure that was in the distance. He stood up to look at the figure as well, and after seconds of staring at the calm still figure, he grimaced. He knew whose shadow that was. He couldn’t believe she had dared to show up. Ezzie Mendez wasn’t Ethan’s girlfriend anymore. It was her fault they were over, so why on earth was she still following him around so much? Why wouldn’t Ezzie just let him and Amber be? Ethan frowned and turned to look at Amber. “I can’t believe Ezzie did this. She can be so juvenile sometimes.” Ethan said, his anger levels rising just a bit. He crossed his arms across his chest and glared at her, even though he knew she was much too far away to see his angry look. They both stared for a moment, and then Ezzie moved closer. Not close enough to see any real detail, but close enough to know that she was, in fact Ezzie Mendez. Then, Ezzie raised her wand close to her mouth. She said something Ethan could not hear (probably a spell of some sort) and then, out of nowhere, Ethan heard Ezzie’s undeniably beautiful voice ring out through the area. Ezzie was overemotional, overdramatic, and incredibly immature, but Ethan could not possibly deny the fact that Ezzie had talent. That girl could sing better than anyone. Ethan listened as her voice (which shook with fury) echoed throughout the small secluded forest. Do you tell her? The same things you told me yesterday Are you taking her The same way you took me away Ezzie didn’t sing much, but she got her point across with skill. She lowered her wand and walked away. She walked slowly and silently, and if it wasn’t for the echo of her last note, no one would ever know she was there. After Ezzie had vanished, Ethan found himself a bit uncomfortable. Ezzie did have a bit of a point. It may have been a very small point, but she had made it loud and clear. Ethan swallowed hard, not knowing what exactly to say to break the awkward silence.
