The fifth of November, Bonfire Night. Lenora was excited that Hogwarts was celebrating this year, what fun. Of course she would be busy with supervision duties, as a prefect she had to make sure everyone was being safe and what not… These were still children and that was still a real fire. Plus when crowds got together people tended to do silly things… But hopefully everyone would be mature enough and the night would be quite enjoyable. Lenora left her hair long and pulled it out of her face using a hair band before beginning a search for her pink scarf. It would be chilly that night, Lenora would need to dress for the cold and then maybe huddle by the fire where she would be able to take off a layer or two.
The school was buzzing with excitement, Lenora could feel it as she walked through the halls. Many people seemed to be wearing winter cloaks, as she was, though not as many seemed to be bright enough to wear a hat and gloves. Lenora sang to herself as she passed a few suits of armour and could almost swear she saw, out of the corner of her eye, one turn its head after her. Of course, that was something she was quite used to, having spent almost 7 years living in the castle. It was certainly something she was going to miss after graduation, though. How different everything would be after graduation… she was even planning on moving to London which would mean moving out of the family home, for real this time not just the school year.
As Lenora entered the grounds she felt the chill of the wind sweep her cloak and was quite glad she bundled up. The bonfire was set to be down by the lake so Lenora decided to run around over to there first. There were people milling about, excited to get the party started. The fire was just beginning to crackle and pop. First and foremost Lenora walked over to the snack table where she grabbed a bottle of butter beer, sure there was more than enough to go around but she feared if she came later they may all be gone.
Drink in hand Lenora started wandering through the crowd, looking to see what she could help out with, and how everyone was getting along. Nearby the bonfire, in the slowly growing crowd, Lenora spotted a familiar head and made her way over to say hi. “Sadie?” Lenora asked as she drew near. “I thought it was you, hi!” she said as she took a seat beside the younger girl. “Looks like it’s going to be quite the party tonight, doesn’t it?”
