Around the Bonfire ((Anybody))

Bryce had been rather pleased when the job assignments were handed out to the prefects for the events that were to happen for the fifth of November bonfire celebration. His job was to help set up the bonfire. The good thing about that job was that Bryce would then have the rest of the evening to enjoy the celebration, or sneak away if it seemed to get boring. Plus, how hard could it be to gather some wood? With his wand at his side, he made his way from the castle down to the lake and found the spot marked off for where the bonfire would be. There was circle in the grass that spanned about twenty feet. Perhaps it would take a lot more wood than Bryce had anticipated. Nonetheless, there was still a bit of daylight time left before the sun would set, and so he could easily start to take some wood from the edge of the forbidden forest.

About thirty minutes later, having made numerous trips cutting down small trees and then levitating the wood from the forest to the place where the fire would be, Bryce had made a decent sized pile of wood. Then, with a few multiplying charms, the pile had grown into a heap that was worthy of being bonfire ready. Smiling to himself, he looked up at the sky which was finishing the shift of turning from a nice bright blue to a deep navy blue colour, the sun having been set for a few minutes now. He heard the voices coming from the hill, glad to have finished just in time. With one last flick of his wand, Bryce cast the Incendio spell and started the fire that would in minutes be blazing for everyone to huddle around as they enjoyed the festivities of the celebration. Turning, he set off to look for either Weetzie or Ashley, not sure if either had planned on coming tonight. If not, he figured he would find Luke and drag him out to the fire if he wasn't coming already.

((This post was just set up for anybody who wants to have a post beside the fire. Bryce won't actually be staying. So, anybody can feel free to reply here as a start to their own post. Just keep it open to anybody though. If you want to start a post with a particular person, then make a new thread. This is just the general bonfire post for anybody who wanted something simple to start with. )

[Cassandra Blackfire G7]

The fire roared loudly in the distance. It almost reminded Cassandra about the old witch burnings they used to tell her about when she went to muggle school, or one of those old pagan rituals she read about in her fantasy novels. All of the students of Hogwarts had come out tonight to celebrate, Cassandra Blackfire included. As she continued her approach, she noticed a load of sparklers shoot out of the fire. Cheers and applause rang out amont the students who sat enthralled by the theatrics. Cass was not impressed. She had never been fond of fire since her mother's death. The flames used to captivate her attention, and now they only reminded her of death. Still, she couldn't be the only living soul in the castle. She had to make an appearance.

Dropping her satchel to the ground, she sat beside it and lounged on a very solid oak log that had been placed on the ground as seat. The Gryffindor Quidditch Captain pulled out some of her animagus work that McGonogall had given to her the day before. Cass' animagus work had been taking up more and more of her time as of late. McGonogall had said they would be performing actual transformations soon, and while this had been something she had been wishing for, she couldn't help but be a little nervous. What if she couldn't transform? What if it was painful? What, as so many first time animagus' did, get stuck in her animal form? She wanted to be ready; so, she was putting in any extra time she had in her studies. McGonogall had assured her that she would be safe, but the Gryffindor was still hesitant to believe them.

[Julian Fallon S7]

Julian couldn't believe that he had brought himself out with the rest of the crowd to this Bonfire Night. It just really didn't seem like his style. He had better things to be doing than to be hanging out in the same area as all the mudbloods that were in this school. There was one true reason that he had been out and about for this evening. His dear friend, and known Slytherin prefect Hester, had told him that a certain intrest of his would be at Bonfire Night. How she knew for sure that this particular someone would be there was beyond Julian's knowledge but he didn't care. He needed to try everything he could to get himself to speak to this girl. To get her to even so much as look at him, instead of through him, mattered to him. Why was it out of all the girls at the school, Julian found himself falling for the one girl who never thought twice about looking at him. He had been wandering around the Bonfire area for the last hour, and had yet to see her or Hester. He knew Hester could tell him where she was, as Hester was out doing prefect duty. Something she enjoyed doing more and more it seemed now than she had in the past.

Julian continued his walk, being sure not to speak to many. An occasional "Hello" or "Hi" would come out of his mouth as younger students would speak to him. Once or twice he told a couple of third years to go away even, but had not really meant any harm by it. His mind was just preoccupied with something else. Surely he could have thought of harsher, more Slytherin like things to say, but he didn't care that if for one night at the moment he was coming off totally un-Slytherin. He made his way closer to the Bonfire, and finally found the one whom preoccupied his mind so much lately. Hearing footsteps behind him, and a soft giggle, he knew his friend Hester had to be approaching. "What am I going to do? This girl is changing me, and I haven't even spoken to her yet. You know a bit about her Hester, how can I get her to speak to me?" He asked almost sounding desperate.

Payton had been in the Slytherin dungeon common room for a while now and had been thinking about delilah all the time, he saw a notice about the bon-fire party tonight and strolled out to find a Hufflepuff, he despised them almost as much as Gryffindors, another Slytherin....and a Gryffindor.

They all seemed a lot older then himself so he didn't think about being beligerent with the upperclassmen, he walked to the slytherin and asked "Hey....whats up with this lot?" he thought they where a bunch of ninnys in his head but he was afraid to say it in public, he would've said it had they been in first or second year....
