Aurora rushed out of the Hufflepuff Common Room and almost ran right into a somewhat disgruntled looking Ari. “Ah, sorry, sorry!” Aurora burst out loudly, before laughing at the expression on her best friend’s face. “Sorry, Ari, I was in such a rush. I wasn’t looking where I was going…” Aurora fiddled with the bright yellow scarf around her neck, waving the dangling tassels around with unhidden glee as she jumped from one foot to another. Aurora was dressed in her warm white coat, so bright it was glaring to the eyes, whilst Ari had gone for her opposing black coat, her dull and inconspicuousness a complete contrast to Aurora’s gleaming attire. Both girls had thick warm boots on, with trousers rather than skirts covering their legs in a sensible attempt not to freeze their feet off outside.
“We’re going to be late.” Ari merely replied with a roll of her eyes, before setting off in the direction of the Grounds, Aurora jogging beside her to keep up. Ari’s blood red scarf, which Aurora had bought her two Christmases back, dangled behind her in the slight breeze that she created with her rapid speed of walking. Aurora grinned at Ari’s impatience, knowing she too was just as eager to see the Quidditch match today between Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Whoever won would take on Gryffindor later.
Ari was a devoted older sister. If her life revolved around something, that something had to be little Harmony. In matches Ari was always rooting for Harmony, especially when they were against Slytherin. It was a shame Hufflepuff hadn't made it through; Aurora knew Ari supported the yellow team nearly much as her own. However, on the days it came to Hufflepuff versus Gryffindor, Ari always remained somewhat stonier silent than usual. She was as proud of her house as her fellow Gryffindors, however unlikely that seemed. Quite honestly, she wanted Gryffindor to win, despite the fact she ate at the Hufflepuff table, spent most time with Hufflepuffs, lingered outside the Hufflepuff Common Room more than she spent time in her own one, and was heading for the Hufflepuff stands right this moment. Aurora knew Ari felt guilty for staying with her in the yellow section, and knew even more that at the end of the day, Ari was of course behind Harmony, who was everything to her. Of course, if Hufflepuff lost it just meant that Ari had something else to be proud of and be happy about. It was a shame that indeed, a few weeks previous, Hufflepuff had lost out to Gryffindor
Aurora and Ari reached the Grounds and headed for the pitch, where loud buzzing noises could already be heard. A dark look crossed Ari’s face, obviously from dislike of the hustle and bustle, which caused Aurora to smile. Sometimes Ari was more like a cynical old man than a seventeen-year-old teenage girl. Enthusiastically, Aurora grabbed Ari’s wrist and tugged her forcibly long until they climbed up the steps to arrive at an area already crowded dull of students donning so much yellow it was blinding. Aurora turned to glance at Ari’s red scarf with an amused smile, before clambering apologetically across Hufflepuffs to get to a pair of seats. They stared at Ari's presence, but people used to the Gryffindor around their side ignored it. Finally seated, Aurora raised the pair of binoculars to her eyes, an essential for her because her eyesight had not always been the best. The Quidditch players were arriving on the pitch with Madam Hooch, and Aurora said excitedly, “It’s starting!” Ari gave a noncommittal grunt from beside her, not needing any binoculars to aid her sight. Aurora skimmed the fourteen players decked in blue and green, brooms by their sides and serious expressions on their faces. "I can see Celia... and Mary and Kennedy." Aurora spoke, referring to the only players in their year. "I know Celia's a Chaser, but I can't remember what Kennedy and Mary play." Aurora saw Ari's eyes flicker over to the Slytherin Captain, showing more awareness of him than the others, which surprised Aurora, but she kept quiet and waited for the match to start.
The match began with the blow of the whistle, and the fourteen players kicked off the ground to fly into the chilly air. Glad she wasn’t one of them, Aurora placed the binoculars to her eyes again and scanned the skies. She made note of the Chasers for both teams (Celia, Theo, a prefect in the year below, and Adrian Maigny in the year above for the Ravens, and some people Aurora did not recognise for Slytherin). For Keeper on the green side was Kennedy, who had flown over to the goals, and for Ravenclaw it was a boy whom Aurora guessed was a few years younger than her - perhaps Harmony's age? Aurora looked around to see her cousin some way away smiling, and she gave her a quick wave. Turning back to the game, Aurora steadied her binoculars at the four Beaters - Jamison, the Head Boy, for Ravenclaw, along with a girl called Reaegyn Eschen-Brenner (goodness, what a long name...) represented the Ravens, and Mary (oh, that made sense, Aurora thought in amusement) and a boy in the year below for the Slyths. Finally, to help win the game as Seekers were the Captain of Ravenclaw and Head Girl, Jasmine Anderson, as well as a younger boy for the Slytherins. Aurora barely knew any of the people from the green team, and shrugged to herself. She was rooting for Ravenclaw; there was no doubt about that.
