Morgan sat in the common room letting the heat from the fire burn her cheeks. From where she sat the room was completely empty with the exception of her coal black owl. Usually she would have moved back but lately her moods had been so horrible that nothing felt any different than normal. Her blonde hair now black after a flick of her wand she realized how bad it looked. Last year she had been color crazy and her hair had been every color in the twenty four color crayola box. Thinking about this she pulled out her wand and twirled it a bit after muttering a spell and watched as her hair turned back to blonde leaving only her side swept bangs black. Her eyes lined with black coal liner and her clothes consisting of black sweat pants a muggle camouflage long sleeve T-shirt. She had her legs crossed in her seat and her hands in her lap as she now stared at the fire wishing that she was at home talking to her mom and dad about going to visit her brother in Egypt again like the had planned last year, but had never gotten a chance to do. She didn’t know anyone but her brother there so it seemed like it would be fine there, but she wasn’t so sure it would be seeing as she hadn’t seen her brother since last Halloween and he may not even still want her to come. Thinking for a moment she remembered how last year she had been so excited to go home and now she dreaded summer. Who knew how many times she would run into Blake at home. Using her wand she decided she had to get this stuff out of her head so she summoned her book from her room and then happily sat in the chair reading not paying any attention to the clock that began ringing announcing the early hours of the morning had arrived.
After twenty minutes of non-stop Lisi Harrison Morgan found herself bored with the odd muggle book and saw Smokey flapping his wings excitedly as he looked out the window. Rolling her eyes Morgan saw that it was snowing. Opening the window she watched as the undersized owl began flying with a lot of energy around the court yard. Giggling at the retarded owl Morgan watched as the owl did turns and circles going faster than any owl she had ever seen go. She was caught on the owl paying no attention to anything else she didn't even realize someone else was in the room until she heard a noise causing her to jump inches into the air.

Harmony had been wandering about in her peaceful dormitory occupied by other sleeping bodies, her mind preoccupied as she tried to recall the... um... something she was meant to do today, or even be doing. There had to be a reason her alarm clock had woken her up so early this morning. Giving a frustrated growl, she turned to Dori for an answer her kitty cat could possibly provide, but upon staring into her bright green eyes filled with intellect, Harmony dropped her head, groaning, and stared blankly at the ceiling of the rounded room. Gah, what was she meant to be doing? She'd been wondering and pondering for perhaps half an hour now, pacing the dormitory up and down with an annoyed frown, but still the answer continued to neglect her thoughts. Flicking some hair back irritably, Harmony decided that perhaps she should just... go and clear her filled up head by taking a walk down to the common room. Perhaps someone would be there to jog her poor memory, though Harmony highly doubted it due to the earliness of the day. Making a quick decision, Harmony walked purposefully out of the door as quietly as she could so not to disturb her roommates, Dori meowing in protest and following her out too. Chuckling at the cat’s antics, Harmony watched her pet run ahead and disappear round the corner, knowing full well she wouldn’t return till later, wondering what she got up to. ”Probably more exciting stuff than what happens in my life.” Harmony smiled sardonically to herself, entering the strangely quiet common room. Sweeping her gaze quickly round, the only person Harmony spied was an older blonde haired girl, sitting beside the window, staring out of it with a happy grin. Wondering what she was thinking, Harmony wandered over automatically, and gave a loud gasp of excitement as she saw the tendrils of white flakes fall sluggishly past the window, “Snow!” It had been quite a while since Harmony had seen snow, and whenever she did, she loved its coming, adoring the cold flecks gently touching her bare flesh and bringing a sudden iciness. Snow was beautiful, and all thought of what she was meant to be doing left her, replaced by an excitement to want to run out and frolic freely in the gorgeous weather. It was then Harmony realised her loud gasp had alerted the other girl’s attention to her presence, and Harmony noticed she seemed rather surprised, jumping in shock at the sound of her voice. Flashing a shy apologetic smile, she tipped her head with a smile at the older girl, “I’m sorry I frightened you. It’s just… I haven’t seen proper snow for such a long time… and it’s um… beautiful.” Although her tone and posture were awkward, her face portraying her coyness, Harmony was definitely trying to be genuine. “Um… I’m Harmony Chan. Second year.” She introduced herself with a friendly grin, and seeing the girl looked slightly… miserable and tired, Harmony decided, perhaps she should try and cheer her up, even though they didn’t know each other. “Hey, um… do you wanna go for a walk or something? Maybe go out into the snow?” She tried to give a reassuring, wider grin to persuade her. She herself couldn’t wait to get out there. ((I dunno if you intended for us to wander outside! But if not, then just say so, Harmony won’t mind! ))

Thinking for a moment Morgan realized going outside would be fun. "Yeah, sure! Just let me go change into something warmer." Morgan said deciding that even though she was hanging out with a younger girl she might still be able to cheer her self up, and besides Harmony was probably a cheerful person. Morgan had been when she was in her second year. Trying to grin Morgan half walked and half jogged up the stairs into her closet using only her wand for light. She quickly threw on sweat pants, a black hooded sweat shirt, a pair of gray muggle basketball shoes that matched her sweat pants. She headed quickly to the bathroom and using her wand she watched as her hair was brushed and braided while she brushed her teeth. Living with her cousins for a summer had taught her one thing. Always be prepared to see someone at your worst.
Running back down stairs Morgan headed toward the window and called her owl. Grining As smokey landed on her clothes wrist Morgan walked toward Harmony and smiled. "Kay, I am ready! Aren't you going to grab a coat or something?" Morgan said as she stepped in front of her and feeling her wand designed hair start to fall out of it's tie. Groaning Morgan used the ribbon again, and this time she tied it herself and grinned when it didn't come down.

Harmony almost sighed with relief when the girl nodded and went upstairs to grab some clothes. She was thankful she wasn't humiliated or rejected, knowing her bold move had actually paid off. Realising that she too would also need extra layers because it was bound to be at low temperatures this morning, Harmony quickly jogged back up to her dormitory, trying to be discreet as not to awake her sleeping companions, and flung on a thick white winter coat over a woolly jumper, along with a pair of yellow gloves, and a matching warm scarf wrapped tightly round her neck. Jamming on a pair of white fluffy earmuffs to keep her ears warm, as she hated wearing winter hats, Harmony grinned at her rather... bundled up appearance in the mirror, her short tendrils of black cascading around contrasting fluffiness. Hoping the older girl wouldn't think she looked weird, Harmony pocketed her trusty wand, and headed back downstairs to the common room.
Upon entering, she waited for a second, before the girl entered also, ready and prepared to brave the cold conditions. Harmony watched as she called to her black owl, which landed expertly onto its owner's arm. Harmony smiled, reminded instantly of Atalanta, Ari's black owl whom she sometimes borrowed to send her post, as she owned Dori instead of an owl. "What's your owl called?" Harmony asked curiously, attempting to make conversation and get to know this girl better. Wait... she didn't even know her name yet! Shyly, Harmony gently stroked the owl's head for a moment, and gave an embarrassed giggle, "Um... Sorry, but I don't even know your name yet either! Which year are you in?" She directed her words to the older girl, hoping she wasn't being rude or anything. Harmony couldn't exactly address and talk to her if she didn't know her name after all, but all the same, Harmony felt silly asking such a question.
Smiling genuinely as the other girl tied her hair with her wand, Harmony realised she still relied on herself instead of magic a lot. She knew this was due to being brought up in the muggle world, and even though she knew that sometimes this upbringing of being less reliant on magic had proved useful, Harmony had told herself she'd try and use magic a little more in her daily life. After all, it would play an important role in her future; she was attending a magic school, and practice could only generate improvement. Plus it was really fun to use magic to do the odd jobs now and again, even if it meant making Harmony lazier!
Grinning at the girl's words, Harmony gave a low giggle and spun around on the spot in her warm black boots, a cute smile extending onto her face, "Um... Am I not dressed enough for the occasion already? I think I'd boil if I put any more layers on." Harmony laughed good naturedly, and clapped her gloved hands together, rubbing them in anticipation to generate unneeded body warmth. "So... since you and I are both ready, shall we go?" Harmony gave a shy wink and headed out of the common room, casting a final hasty glance towards the windows in wonderment. She saw the flakes of snow falling at an even faster pace, and hiding her glee, lead her new companion out of the warm common room into the icy weather.
