Sophia opened up her sleepy eyes, and took a few seconds to adjust to her surroundings. She'd just spent the past 3 weeks at home, and it was a bit of a shock finding herself back in her Hogwarts dormitory, rather than her bright yellw room back in Manchester, although she had now been at Hogwarts for a few days now, and having accustomed her eyes to the bright light in the room, she slowly slid out of bed, slipped on her slippers and wandered dazily over to the bathroom to splash her face with cold water, in order to wake herself up a bit more.
Itr was now the weekend, and being the first week back after Christmas, she didn't have much homework left to do for a change, and so she started thinking about what to do. Hearing the beep from her clock, it was 8.30, and so she decided to go to the Great Hall for breakfast to think more on the subject. A good bit of food always did her some good-it woke her up and generally made her feel a lot better, if not slightly hyper, depending on what it was. Today, she decided on some bacon, sausage and beans, with a glass of orange juice-her favourite breakfast meal!
Having arrived back at the Hufflepuff Common room, she looked round for some inspirationl. She then found herself looking towards what she called the "fun corner" of the room, where there was a bookcase and a cupboard filled with games...Wizard Chess sets, packs of exploding snap cards, bags of gobstones...nothing she was interested in. Then right at the back, she found another box...this time it said "Wizard Scrabble" on the box. Sophia was intrigued...so she tuipped over the box carefully to see what it said for the rules, and how it differed from normal scrabble. Basically it was the same, except you had to put magic-related words...spells, beasts, plants etc...and apparently there was a nasty punishment if you put a wrong word in.
So she picked it up, and placed it on the nearest table, before closing the old cupboard from which it came. Then she realised that there was nobody around to play with. So she slumped into a chair by the table...and thought about what to do. Maybe someone would turn up to play? There was nobody else there to ask, or she would. She sighed...another fun plan, probably gone to waste. So to pass her time, she decided to place it out, as if it was going to be played, to perhaps aid her chances of a partner, or to at least give hints to the rest of the Hufflepuff population.
