Tempe headed for Ravenclaw Tower, she was going to meet Rayne there. Tempe needed to talk to someone and she had chosen Rayne, her being a fellow Ravenclaw. She was on the East side of the castle and she needed to get to the West side, so she took one of the many shortcuts in the castle. Tempe was feeling gloomy and most people in the corridor just stared at her while she sulked on by, she didn't care what others thought, she had friends and that is all that mattered.
She had reached her portrait hole, " Fairylights," Tempe told the portrait and the picture swung open. Tempe entered the room, Rayne wasn't there yet, so she sat down and stared into the fire, waiting for Rayne to arrive.

Rayne sighed closing her drawing book. She had been so caught up in sketching the people in the student lounge she had forgotten she was supposed to meet Tempe in the Ravenclaw common room. If she hurried she'd be able to make it in time. Sticking the book in her bag Rayne hurried off to the room.
The invitation had been quite a surprise to Rayne. She had met Tempe before it would have been hard for them to have not meet seeing as how they were in the same house. Still Tempe had asked her to come to the common room so that they could talk. Apparently Tempe needed to get something off her chest and felt Rayne was the one to go to. Something that made Rayne happy and a little uneasy. She was a very unsocial person and didn't think she was the person to go to if someone else had a problem but she'd do her best anyway.
"Fairylights." She told the portrait. Thanks to her immence knowledge of shortcuts in the school Rayne was going to arrive right on time. Sure enough as soon as she entered the room she saw Tempe sitting down next to the fire. Rayne walked over set her bag down and took the seat beside Tempe. "Hey what's up?" she asked a concerned look on her face.

"Oh, nothing much, you're probably wondering why I asked you to meet me here," she had a blank look on her face so Tempe continued," I needed to talk to someone and I chose you."
Tempe was hoping that Rayne would understand, maybe she could give her some advice on what to do about her brother, but how could Rayne help her if she hadn't even told her about anything yet.
"So, you ready for me to tell you what this is all about?" she still had a blank look on her face so yet again Tempe kept on talking, " It's about my brother, Rus, he got a call from my dad the other day telling him to quit looking for him, because the police are still looking for him, even after three years, and there is no use looking for my mother because a year after my parents' disappearance the police found her murdered. My dad, to Rus, said that my mother's murderer wanted Rus and I and that if we quit looking for him we would end up just like mom, and now I'm really worried about everything. So sorry if that made no sense, sometimes, when I'm worried I just babble on and I won't shut up," Tempe finished her story in a very weird way.

Rayne struggled to get her mind wrapped around everything Tempe had told her. First off she felt dreadful for the older girl. Even though Rayne's parents were horrible and almost non existant at least they were both alive and sort of there for her. Secondly she couldn't believe that someone could be cold hearted enough to murder some girls mother then hunt the girl and her brother down. That sounded like the worst situation to be in ever. She couldn't even to begin to imagine what Tempe was going through at the moment. Finding out that your brother was getting a call from an absent parent telling them to stop looking or they'd end up dead like their mother would be something big enough to make even Rayne want to cry.
Taking all that into account what Rayne was having the most trouble getting her mind around was that Tempe had choosen her out of everyone in her class and circle of friends and pretty much the whole school to talk to. Rayne felt dreadful for Tempe but she wasn't sure what to say.
Rayne turned her sympathetic eyes to the older girl in front of her. "Tempe...I'm so sorry to hear that. That has to be the saddest thing I've heard all year." Rayne paused wondering if she should thank Tempe for choosing her to talk to or if that would seem too cold hearted. She chose the alternative. "Is there anything at all I can do to help you and your brother out?"

"Did you understand any of that, because even though it all makes sense to me, I couldn't even understand what I just said. And thanks for actually coming, you're one of my only friends," Tempe said.
She probably feels sorry for me, and I don't want sympathy all I want is someone to tell my problems to, that's it I'm an idiot, duh Tempe, if you tell your problems to someone they're going to feel sorry for you, Tempe thought.
"Oh," she said as Rayne offered to do something for her and Rus, " you don't and probably can't do anything for me, but thanks though, although I just decided to tell you this, even though you'll probably just roll your eyes, there is this girl, Rachel, who of course is in Slytherin, and she basically thinks she is royalty and she hates it because I stand up to her, obviously she thinks that she can boss people and get everyone to like her, oh and she can't stand Hufflepuffs, but here is what I want to ask you: if I'm an older student shouldn't I be able to stand up to her, and that she needs to learn that?" Tempe questioned and she also wondered what Rayne would say.

"I understood it fine and I understand sometimes what I say out loud and what is said in my head are two very different things. As for your situation if you ever need my help more so then just listening let me know. Of course I don't mind listening one of the only things I'm good at."
Rayne almost choked when Tempe mentioned Rachel. "Rachel? Rachel Mason that chick from Slytherin around my age who's a complete sleeper! Oh my god I know her she's been giving me shit for the last three days! As for your question yeah she needs to be taught a major lesson. Especially since you are an older student." A mischevious smile spread across Raynes face. "Want help teaching her a lesson? It would help take your mind off things."

"Oh, that's a relief, then whenever I need to tell someone something I'll come to you, because Anna, do you know her, can get bored if she's the one who is talking, she really isn't the best listener," Tempe said.
That really is a relief, thought Tempe, I can tell her a lot of things and probably feel confident about telling her.
"Are you serious," Tempe said when Rayne mentioned she couldn't stand Rachel, " she's been doing the same thing to me. And I would love to teach her a lesson, but we have to do something that wouldn't get us in trouble!"
But it would serve her right, after all she's done to me, and no telling what all she has done to Rayne, we should do something just awful to her, but I really don't want to get expelled, thought Tempe.
"But what could we do, any ideas?" Tempe asked.

Rayne laughed when Tempe mentioned Anna. "Yeah I've met her once or twice never really had a long conversation with her. I know the type though one of my friends can be the same way. Makes it hard to tell people things."
She was extactic when she heard that Tempe wasn't going to shoot down her only chance to get back at Rachel like the rest of her friends. She was still seething that they would let Rachel talk like that to her treat them like crap then refuse to help her when she talked of getting back at her. Rachel had flat out told Rayne's best friend that she wasn't worth the time of day and that she and Rayne were absolute nobodies and her friend had stuck up for Rachel saying they should just leave her alone. Ok so it wasn't so much sticking up for Rachel as keeping Rayne from getting into serious trouble but Rayne saw it as protecting the other girl.
"Oh my god I love you so much I could hug you. You have no idea how much shit I've gone through dealing with this girl and my friends don't have my back on this! As for getting in trouble I know the rule book like the back of my hand using magic, as long as it isn't serious like an unforgivable, cannot get us expelled. The most we would get is two weeks of detention and some house points lost. If at all possible I would like to avoid that even though we are in the lead I have better things to do then serve a detention. Although if it's because we got the better of this girl I could suffer through it." Rayne said leaning back and laughing. She was so unbelievably happy someone had her back on this. "As for a plan I have a few things we could do mess with her. Purposely sabatoging some of her work would do. You wouldn't be getting into trouble either since I'm in her year I'd be doing most of the dirty work. There are other ways aside from the usual sabatoge of course. Do you have any ideas?" Rayne asked. She wanted to know Tempes thoughts and she needed time to think of something cool.
