Unbelievable. The amount of things a woman needed for a wedding – according to the said woman – was almost enough to make Kris gape. And Cleo knew that he was blind. So why had Kris even been forced to come along to her trying on different dresses to decide which cut she liked most so that she could have her own wedding-dress tailored after the same cut? Kris couldn’t very well decide which dress looked best on her, could he? And then Cleo accused him of not being fair when Kris could prefer one dress to an other. Right. Kris was thankful he would only have to get married once. Because right now he could feel the headache starting to pound away in his temples. He had never been a fan of shopping. Shopping for a wedding was even wore. At least the peppermint ice-cream with chocolate chips Kris was currently eating was tasty. It even comforted Kris a little in the situation where he simply let everything said around him in from one ear and out through the other. And at least Cleo spending his money was better than Cleo crying. Tears were a no go with Kris. He simply could not say no to the tears of the girls he held dear and as he adored Cleo… well, actually that didn’t even matter as he could pretty much never say no to her soon-to-be wife anyway. But why did he have to be here? Couldn’t he just pay for everything later?
Kris let out a loud breath of relief when the bell over the tailor’s door tingled and Kris heard Dana’s voice as she entered the room. Thankfully Dana was back from Spain and even more thankfully she loved him just as much as ever before. “Dana, you couldn’t have better timing. Cleopatra, you will look breathtaking in everything but Dana will help you fix the details. Just have it charged on me,” Kris told jumping up from the armchair he had been sprawled in and kissing Cleo quickly before striding out of the room as quickly as possible, while not yet appearing to be running. He was not going to let himself be tortured with wedding-shopping if it was possible to avoid it. Kris slowed down his pace only a little once he had gotten a couple of streets further away before he fall back to his regular saunter as he approached the carriages and let himself be driven back to Hogwarts. Ah, peace and quiet that would expect him in the common room. And most importantly no nervously anxious women who picked out wedding dresses. It sounded heavenly.
The carriage pulled to a stop and Kris jumped out of it gracefully. The walking cane swinging in his hand lazily, Kris touched the tip of the black ebony walking-stick to the ground only once in a while as Morrigan jumped on his shoulders as always as Kris took the shortest route to the common room. It should be empty enough for him to soak up some silence as much as possible. Not too long to go, yet Kris couldn’t wait for the wedding to be done and over with. He wouldn’t be able to tolerate all the fuss about it much longer. Slipping into the common room Kris tilted his head and listened. Silence. Not compete silence as some students were obviously in their respective dormitories but the common room was miraculously empty. Kris smirked happily and walked over to the armchair before the fireplace and dropped himself into on, throwing his arms on the leg-rest and leaning his head back. Morrigan used the opportunity immediately running down on Kris’s chest until settling comfortably on his stomach. Moving his right hand a little Kris stroked the kitten’s back lazily and enjoyed the complete stillness of the room for a few minutes. And a few minutes was all that he was granted when someone else entered the room. Kris wondered if it would work if he would mentally send out the message ’Don’t approach. I’ll bite. But figured he might as well wait a moment to see if whoever entered would just go out or go to dormitory or actually come to talk to him before starting to give off the mean Slytherin aura.

"No." Ian said in a cold tone to the student in front of him. The boy grimaced at him. "Come on, just give me the Slytherin password." Ian gaped at how stupid this little mudblood twit must be. Ian looked down at the Gryffindor boy. "Ok, you must be incredibly retarded to think that I, an older Slytherin would give you, a mudblood traitor the password to MY common room." Ian said calmly yet with an air of cruelty. The Gryffindor boy couldn't be more then a third year and yet he was already purely annoying. Ian didn't know anything about kids, which in his opinions were thirteen year olds and down. He was an only child of course so that stuff wasn't familiar to him. Sometimes the truly got on his nerves, other times, not so much. It depended on the mood he was in. "Besides, do you really think you could get away with it?" Ian said in his cocky tone. He wasn't yet about to work any magic on this fool. No, that could wait a moment. "Look here give it to me or I'll curse you." The boy said taking out his wand. "You wish, Avis." Ian summonsed as he gave a cruel smile as birds flew out of his wand knocking the boy to the floor. The boy was now flat on the floor. "Epoximise." Ian called. Now the boy's robes were stuck to the floor. Ian then walked over, took the boy's wand from his pocket and threw it across the room. "There's only one way to get out of that mate. Think next time." He said with a cruel smile on his face as he left the hall. Ian could hear the boys yelps as he left while he merely smiled.
Mudblood traitors usually didn't bother Ian that much, but that boy had it coming. Besides, it did take him out of his boring mood. The whole day had been full of nothing, but Ian writing his mother back. She was engaged. Whoop, di, doo. Actually, Ian rather liked the bloke. He had lots of money to support Ian's mother and he was a cool, calm buy. Ian greatly preferred him from the other mousy men his mother had dated. Only thing about this guy that bothered Ian was he had a daughter at Hogwarts. Ian didn't even know her name or year, but that she was a Gryffindor. Oh, annoying will that be, having a annoying Gryffie step-sissie? Ian could only envision it. He continued to walk to the dungeons. The boy's screams were out of ear shot by now. The halls were basically empty except for the occasional young girls talking to young boys from another house. Most of them were recognizable fourth years. Ian just glared at the as he traced on walking in his normal, cool manner.
The dungeons were basically bare. There was a young couple kissing in the corner but Ian just walked on. He usually would have a crude comment about kissing in a dungeon, but he refrained. Upon approaching the Slytherin common room, Ian gave the password and entered. It seemed bare. Well, Ian did recognize a fellow sixth year sitting across the room. It was Kris Graas. Ian knew him as they were both in the same house and year after all. Ian knew a few things about him. Kris had been blinded on the train attack. It was something he seemed quite used to since it happened back in September. Ian, however, couldn't imagine if he could get through a situation like that. Kris was also getting married. Married, at the end of sixth year? Ian could never imagine himself doing such a thing. Kris was marrying a younger Ravenclaw girl Ian didn't know. Ian approached Kris who looked to be quite comfortable in the quite of the common room. "Afternoon Kris. Ready for the big day?" Ian asked reffering to Kris' wedding. He knew he was probably disrupting Kris's quiet, but Ian hope Kris didn't mind too much. Ian sat in a near by chair and propped himself up while watching Kris.

Morrigan let out a meow in the midst of her never-ceasing purring alerting Kris to the fact that whoever had entered had decided to come to him after all. Not that Kris needed the knowledge at this case cause he heard the footsteps coming anyway. For a moment Kris played with the idea of telling whoever had came to get lost, but then figured that it wouldn’t be worth the effort. Besides as long as this person didn’t want to talk about shopping Kris just might not mind the company for much, however unsocial he usually chose to be. Kris tilted his head a the greeting and smirked lazily. Ian Kiel. Dorm-mate and an acquaintance. “Ian,” Kris replied curtly to the greeting before raising his head straight again. And wedding. Everyone just had to point it out today, didn’t they? Kris was too glad to get out of the tailor’s shop to be truly annoyed however.
“Big day? You know, if I wasn’t feeling this lazy I would pick on that choice of words and pretend to be oblivious as a big day could also be when I graduate or when I die or quite a number of days. Christmas, New Years, the longest day of the year?” Kris paused for a moment as he tilted his head. He wasn’t that thick to not understand that his wedding was going to be coming up next. He was kept being reminded of it after all. “As ready as I’ll ever be. I’d rather have it behind me just to get rid of everyone trying to help plan everything. But I do warmly suggest to anyone to let the woman know of the wedding only on the morning of the same day. I was quite sure that if I couldn’t comment on how one cut fit on my Cleopatra when compared to the cut of an other dress very soon I would have been hexed all the way around the moon. Selective memory I suppose.” Because Cleo knew very well that Kris couldn’t see the cut of any of the dresses. While Kris was rather sure he wouldn’t have been able to comment on different designs even when he could still see as women’s fashion wasn’t his forte, how on earth could have Cleo expected him to be able to do so now. And if a simply wedding. Or maybe not that simple as Cleo had wanted a big wedding while Kris hadn’t cared either way. But if their wedding had made Cleo this emotional, then what was Kris expected to survive through when Cleo got pregnant? They both wanted about a dozen kids as well. Or maybe half a dozen. But that was still the future when Cleo was out of Hogwarts as well.
“Or was that a question whether I’m mentally ready to get married for the rest of my life? I wouldn’t have proposed if I wasn’t, would I have?” Kris asked with a lazy smirk on his face as he recalled the memory. He hadn’t actually even asked Cleo to marry her, but rather shown her the ring and said that he might just marry her one day. It hadn’t been Kris’s fault Cleo had tackled him and demanded to have the ring immediately! But in the end everything had worked out and quite frankly Kris couldn’t have imagined his life without the Ravenclaw spitfire constantly by his side anymore. But while a number of people disliked Kris getting married at so young age, Kris was ready for it. Besides getting married young would give them plenty of time to grow old with Cleo.

Ian merely nodded propping his head back more at Kris's comment. It had been a long day and Ian was perfectly keen on getting quite comfortable. Ian listened halfheartedly as Kris responded. Yes, yes he understood everything he was saying. Suddenly, Ian smirked at a couple of first years getting in a fight in the corner. It seemed two boys were arguing on some girl. Ian chuckled to himself. Ah, to be young must have been fun. Ian didn't really remembered it. Well, at least being that young. Metaphorically speaking, everyone was young at heart. Well, actually, that's just a saying, but whatever. Ian couldn't recall being that young. He just recalled his father dying and then growing into his sarcastic self. No more did Ian remember of his childhood. He then thought back to Kris and his marriage. Ian didn't disapprove as obviously some did. People would always disapprove of a young couple getting married no matter who they were. Ian didn't mind it at all. Just because Kris and his fiance were young didn't mean things would grow sour soon. This very conclusion underestimated young adults the age of seventeen and younger. And Ian didn't like that at all.
Kris obviously had a lot to say so Ian would respond. Kris said something about how the phrasing big day could mean a number of thins. "Touche." Ian replied courtly. "I could have just said "Ready for your Wedding Day?" but that sounded so, old and normal, so I said the next thing I could think of." Ian said slyly staring into the debts of the fire for a few moments. It always seemed to lure his eyes in for some strange reason Ian wasn't sure of. Ian looked back at the two boys who were still bickering. Ian wasn't about to go over and do anything about it unless they really disturbed his peace. Then, well they would be sorry. Ian listened as Kris described his wedding planning. Ian looked at him. "I've already decided I'm going to Rome or somewhere and eloping. I couldn't stand to have my mom help the bride pick out china patterns and flowers because of course they would have me stay and help. I would rather just have a simple ceremony and save my family the tears and me the pain, but that's all the thought I've put into it. "When I find a bride, I'll think about it more." He said sharply before closing his eyes for a moment to rest.
Ian shook his head with his eyes still closed. "No, it wasn't about being mentally prepared." He responded to Kris's comment. "I'm sure you are and if you are not then heaven help you." Ian said courtly. He didn't think Kris would be like that. Actually, Ian could never imagine that. Ian continued to lean back further in his chair. Long day, long day. Ian propped his chin just enough to see Kris before leaning back again. "Well, I'm sure the wedding will go quite fine." Ian said towards Kris with his eyes closed. He was getting more tired by teh second, but now that he was talking to Kris, Ian's fault, he couldn't just go to sleep. Ian waited for Kris to respond to his comments as he didn't really have any more to say until then. Ian shut his eyes while waiting.

And some first years. Kris would have frowned if that hadn’t required moving some muscles. Reaching for his wand to cast a silencing charm on the boys would require the use of even more muscles so Kris opted to not do that either right now. He could ignore the two up to some point and if not maybe he could coach Ian into casting a spell on them or just roaring at the two for a moment and shoo them out of the room. “Old and normal. And since when have you cared about what’s normal or not? What’s wrong with being normal anyway?” Kris drawled out slowly in response to Ian’s words. He was in a social mood today. Well social mood for him, meaning he could tolerate one or two, maybe even three people. But that didn’t mean he was energetic enough to actually dedicate much of himself to the conversations. Besides Ian sounded slick and Kris didn’t like slick guys. Something about it made the small hairs on the back of his neck rise up in irritation and wariness.
“Don’t have a mother. Nor a father nor any sisters or brothers so I don’t need to save anyone from tears really as I sincerely doubt Dana will share any,” Kris replied rather emotionlessly. He didn’t quite frankly even recall what his mother had looked like right now a she had been suffocated by some dear auntie when Kris was 5. The negative sides of big family-trees. Or maybe the positive things. Even deaths were kept inside the family. Kris almost laughed out loud at that idea. His father had died when Kris was older and now him Kris missed with all his heart. But Ian didn’t have to know that and Kris wasn’t willing to share that information right now either. Matters of the family were kept inside the family and Ian wasn’t related. So Kris kept his mouth shut tightly and showed a calm surface to the world. It was easier to laugh back at the world than show ones tears and have the world laugh at you.
A cocky smile appeared on Kris’s face on Ian’s next words however: “Ah, Heaven won’t want me I’m sure. Just as Hell would be much too afraid I would reorganize things and take over.” The words were cocky as well, but oddly suiting so Kris didn’t regret the least bit that he had thrown the words out for the world to hear. Even if only Ian – and the first years – could have heard it now. Besides Kris didn’t mind the least bit if people thought him as arrogant. He was after all so why hide it? “As long as it ends with the result that it’s meant to end with it will be fine,” Kris murmured in a calmer tone of voice shifting himself in the chair lightly and throwing his ankles on the leg-rest.
