Filthy. The school was absolutely filthy. And by this statement Ariane didn’t mean the dust-level in the castle but rather the people inhabiting for the most part. Mudbloods, half-blooded freaks, pureblood traitors. All those unworthy to study here at Hogwarts, yet here they were. Ariane turned her head and glanced at the professors table. The picture wasn’t much better there. Half-giants, midgets, pureblood traitors and mudblood lovers starting with Dumbledore himself. Professor Snape seemed to be the only one from the whole bunch of them who had his priorities straight. Ariane smiled brilliantly looking much more angelic and friendly than her real thoughts were. But her facial features and blond hair always worked for her benefit, as who could believe anything bad from such a small and fragile looking little girl? Ariane always took immense pleasure to using that kind of people in her own advantage. Other people underestimating her was a mistake Ariane wouldn’t hesitate to use in her own advantage.
Ariane bit back a sigh and turned to look at her own house table. Slytherins. The nobility of the magical world. Ariane’s eyes traveled over the students silently thinking that not even all the purebloods sitting here deserved the privileges of being a Slytherin. And some of them, who might follow the correct believes, were just ogres. Ariane eyed Crabbe and Goyle for a moment and delicately wrinkled her nose as she observed them stuffing their mouths with food for a moment. Weren’t they fed at home? Loosing the little of her appetite that was still left Ariane touched her napkin to her mouth-corners for a moment before standing up and sauntering out of the Great Hall. She was a Dianne she Ariane made sure to take her time as she gracefully floated over the wall taking delight of the light shuffling of the fabric of her knee-length Slytherin-green silk-skirt with silver edgings. With a white blouse with matching silvery edgings webbing through the fabric it accentuated Ariane’s youth and brought out the best in her delicate features. She was still only 11. Much to young to have developed much of a figure so it wouldn’t be suitable for her to wear very fancy clothes or clothes that would draw attention to the bodily curves or the lack of them. Ariane had been schooled by the finest to make sure she would always be both fashionable and stylish in every situation of life.
Her shoes didn’t make any noise as Ariane hurried through the practically empty hallways as most everyone seemed to have gone to get dinner. Ariane thought about going out to the shore of the lake for a while, but one glance out of a window to the pouring rain made her rethink that decision. Ariane most definitely didn’t want to get her clothes wet, so Ariane decided to retreat to the Slytherin common room, where she could read and relax in some peace and quiet this way until other people would start returning from dinner. Ariane gave the correct password and watched the wall move away from before her. As the common room was under the Hogwarts lake there were no windows. A fact Ariane was grateful for right now, as it meant she wouldn’t have to see the pouring rain here. Getting her book on jinxes, curses and hexes Father had given her to study was a matter of a short moment. Ariane chose herself a seat on a couch spreading her skirt around her almost automatically to make her seem even more tender and lovable. Quickly enchanting the fire in the fireplace a bit bigger Ariane opened her book at where her bookmarker showed she had stopped the last time and concentrated on the text before her.

Fiona pried herself out of her daze as she realized that dinner would be coming on now. She looked around her. It had started to rain outside. Which meant that she would be lucky to make it back without getting wet. She had been staring off into the nothingness for almost an hour now. She was sitting under a tree and hadn't even noticed the slight steady drip of water onto her knee. She rose quickly and brushed herself off. She didn't want to get her jeans wet let alone any other part of her body, but it seemed to be a little late for that. Fiona moved around the tree and eyed the castle doors. She would have to make a run for it.
Fiona took off at a sprint toward the door. She was almost there when her foot hit a patch of mud and sent her flying into the air and showing her that Newton was right, What goes up must come down. With that Fiona landed on her back in the mud and water. The rain hitting her face and body. She cursed under breath in Gaelic and got quickly to her feet heading into the castle drenching in water and stained in mud. She quickly passed by the Great Hall and down into the dungeon to the secret entrance to the Slytherin common room. Once there she ran in quickly, noticed a young Slytherin sitting on a couch and walked by her to her dormitory where she changed out of her clothes quickly and into another pair of dark jeans and a green long sleeved t-shirt with the Slytherin emblem stitched into the left side of her shirt above her chest. She combed through her hair as her cat meowed for attention.
Fiona looked at her miserable reflection and sighed. She had to fall didn't she. She reached down and grabbed her wand from her other jeans and petted her cat quickly. Stepping back through the door to her dormitory she looked at the girl sitting quietly on the couch. Supper was still going on by the looks of it, so why was this young girl sitting by herself. "You know suppers going on right now," Fiona stated softly. She didn't want to bother the girl, but she did want to see if the girl had already gone to dinner or not. She would hate to see the girl complaining later on in the night because she had missed dinner. That would just bring an annoyance to Fiona's ears.

Ariane shivered a little as she waited for the fire coming form the fireplace to start warming the common room. Not an easy task as the common room was rather big and therefore it took quite some time to warm it up to a suitable level of warmth. Ariane tried to push that mild detail to the back of her head though, just like Mother had taught her and concentrated on her book instead. It might have very well been the effect of both redirecting her thoughts and the warmth of the fire that helped her stop shivering in a couple of minutes already. Before Ariane could fully concentrate on the text in her book however as she heard light steps on the stairs leading to dormitories. Ariane shifted herself a little so that she could keep an eye on the stairs to see who would be coming from there while not appearing too nosy.
A girl. Not the older student or a NEWT year, but not one of the younger years anymore either. Ariane almost wrinkled her nose at the choice of such simple clothes. Denim was so… plebeian even though the blouse most certainly was proper to be worn at school. But Ariane would most certainly not be caught wearing denim. She didn’t have any jean-skirts simply because the fabric itself was far from being fancy. The girl spoke to her and Ariane who had only peeked at the girl from the corner of her mouth so far raised her head now and looked at the girl full on. The girls tone of voice had been almost patronizing so Ariane had to bit back a smirk.
“I know supper is going on,” Ariane replied while brushing back and throwing back over her shoulder a couple of strands of her hair that had cascaded forward while she had been reading. For a few moments Ariane eyed the girl almost curiously as she tried to imagine who she was and how polite she would have to be towards her. It might be better to play safe though. You never knew, when you could need a connection in the future. “I lost my appetite because of all the lack of… proper… taste displayed in the Great Hall. Hogwarts may offer good-quality education but it’s far from being an elite school when you look at the majority of the student body,” Ariane added with a soft smile that took off the cold edge in her words as she explained her reasons for not eating dinner herself, even though the older girl hadn’t asked about it. at least hadn’t asked about it out loud.

Fiona smirked at the girl's response. It was very true. A pureblood could easily lose their appetite in the mess of mudbloods and half-breeds that also attended supper at the same time as they did. It was horrible company really. To sit and watch the filthy mudbloods eat...it was definitely noticeable. If any mudblood tried to hide their true lineage it would totally be ruined by the way they ate. So grotesque! They would shove the food deep into their throats hoping that there would still be more when they came back down to get another bite. Fiona had found herself losing her own appetite once in a while, that's why she had come to sit with her back to the mudbloods and half-breeds. It helped her keep her appetite as well as show them that she was better than they were.
Fiona nodded her head at the girl. "I know what you mean. Losing one's appetite can be quite annoying, what with the company one must have at supper," Fiona said with a slight smile. She looked at the girl's book with curiosity, which got the best of her sometimes. "What exactly are you reading?" Fiona's curiosity for books always got the best of her. She had always made it her life's work to gain knowledge especially on the Dark Arts. It gave her a will for vengeance. Not only that, but she found it even more interesting when she could discuss curses with other Slytherins. She had several conversations with Slytherins about what curse was better to use on someone: Crucio or Imperio? It gave life a bit more entertainment. Right now she just cared to find out what the girl was reading about. It couldn't be to difficult of magic considering the girl looked to be a first or maybe a second year.

Ariane observed the girl calmly arching an eye-brow at her lack of politeness. Sure, Ariane was the younger one, but the abrupt question about her book and the lack of introduction weren’t excusable. “The lack of manners at dinner table is unfortunately noticeable among some Slytherins as well. I do not need much food to keep me going, so I already had managed to pretty much eat my fill,” Ariane thought about Crabbe and Goyle once again and had to forcefully suppress a shudder. Those two were real ogres. Then again they might have their uses as lackeys for jobs that required only raw muscle-power. Her eye-brow still arched Ariane politely reminded the older girl of etiquette rules as she bowed her head slightly towards her: “I’m Ariane Phyllis Dianne.” Ariane’s tone was just a grade colder than regular because of the lack of tact from the older girl which raised a couple of very interesting questions for Ariane. Who exactly was this girl to be able to afford behaving like this?
Ariane looked calmly at the book laying open between her hands still as the girl asked about with a patronizing smile. What was she expecting? Ariane had been able to start studying proper spells just this year. It was naturally she wasn’t at the level of OWLs just yet. “Jinxes and hexes to help you get through every-day life,” Ariane quoted the title while leaving her finger as the book-mark and showing the front cover to the other girl none the less, “Deals with spells as the title said and also gives and insight on how to make them appear as accidents and discusses the topic of torture equipment in the bonus-edition.” Ariane observed the other girl calmly her eyes big and shining innocently as she waited to see if the girl would improve her manners or would she create one more social disaster that would only leave a stain on her reputation.

Fiona raised an eyebrow at the girls comment about some Slytherin's manners. It was true a few of them at the table could hardly be watched while they ate. On the other hand it still wasn't as bad as the mudbloods and half-breeds. It had nothing to do with the way they ate sometimes. It was just disgusting to see that they were apart of this school. It was something that Fiona hoped would be remedied soon. The Dark Lord would soon have control of this school and those unworthy students would be thrown out and killed for thinking they could study here. Salazar Slytherin was right. Now she only hoped that things would improve within the next year. Else wise she was just going to have to start taking things into her own hands.
Fiona's thoughts turned back to the girl as she introduced herself. Fiona realized she had plunged on without an introduction. It had been rather rude of her to do so. Sometimes her own manners were found lacking which was something she couldn't afford, especially while in the presence of a Dianne. "I have heard of your family. I must apologize for my rudeness. My name is Fiona Lin O'Reilly of the Irish O'Reilly clan," Fiona said with a nod of her head toward Ariane. It was obvious that Fiona knew of the family Dianne, probably just as well as Ariane would know of Fiona's name. The name Dianne was part of a well known and respected pureblood family and Fiona would do her part to show her manners and her respect.
Fiona nodded her head at the mention of the book within Ariane's hands. The girl was studying some good curses in there. Fiona made her way to a seat across from Ariane and delicately sat down. She crossed her legs and smiled again at the girl. "What is your favorite jinx so far?" Fiona asked quietly. She found it interesting to see what kind of taste the young Dianne would have; if she were like her parents or more out spoken in her lust for purity.

Ariane observed the girl with cool eyes as she seemed to understand her crude lack of tact. Well, at least she did understand it on her own after Ariane had introduced herself. Such situations had tricky etiquette rules actually. Ariane should actually introduce herself first as she was younger and their families were equally respectable. But at the same time O’Reilly had approached her which relieved Ariane of the duty of introducing herself first. Really tricky. Ariane nodded slightly as the older girl spoke, swallowing the rather snappy words ‘who hasn’t?’ when she mentioned she had heard of Ariane’s family. Ariane’s parents were purebloods, his father worked at a very high place in the Department of Mysteries and her parents were very loyal to Lord Voldemort. Due to her father being in the Ministry he obviously couldn’t be marked, but they were loyal. Ariane couldn’t wait when she could join the ranks of Death Eaters as well. If that marriage her parents were thinking upon forcing upon her in about two years wouldn’t interfere with her plans catastrophically much. But really, Ariane wasn’t going to let anything hinder her in her aim to serve in the closest circle of the Dark Lord one day.
“O’Reilly. Your clan has been strong,” Ariane responded simply with one more tilt of her head in acknowledgement of the name that actually did came up familiar, “You are welcomed to call me Ariane.” Ariane smiled. She wasn’t one to try and hide all her emotions. No, Ariane freely showed her smile. It lightened up her face and made her seem angelic. It was perfect for hiding her real thoughts and hatred. What jinx did she like? Ariane leaned a bit more at the backrest of the couch as she seriously thought about the matter. She liked a lot of jinxes. And sometimes mental manipulation could be so much more satisfying. Attacking outright was just foolish. That’s what SLytherins were famous for after all? Slyness. The ability to get their way while leaving the expression if others had wanted the same all the time as well.
“Perhaps the acid jinx. Something that starts off almost unnoticeably and starts chewing at your stomach as if you felt a bit sick. And slowly the pain grows bigger all the time torturing you slowly. You won't know how harmful it is until it's too late. Subtle, but very effective. Disrupts concentration, harms and it would be curious to observe how different subjects behave while under this curse,” Ariane replied after a moment of thought as she let the pages of the book glide through her fingers as she thought. Ariane raised her eyes and met Fiona’s look calmly: “And may I enquire about you? More for an attack out right or rather acting subtly?”
