For the past week people had awakened to find presents. Andrew was one of these people. It was a broomstick he had got, to be precise a Firebolt, he new that he had saved up a lot of money when he was at home. His family probably got this him with that money. But how does he know this is from his family? Everyone else has been getting presents and it is highly unlikely that everyones parents sent them things at the very same time.

Genevieve was in the Common Room attempting to draw a flower. It seemed so easy when other people drew it but when she tried it looked horrible. Drawing wasn't her thing. Perhaps there is some kind of formula to calculate the precise angle of strokes and dashes I should make. She thought as she drew a stem that looked more like a limp snake dangling off of a fence.
Genevieve eventually gave up and ripped out the drawing, crumbled it up in a ball and threw it across the room. She had become so aggravated with drawing she was ready to quit. She had only started the other day though and her mother had always told her to atleast get up to two weeks before calling it quits. At this rate though Genevieve wasn't sure that she could make it to two days.
Genevieve put her sketch book away and looked over to where the paper ball had flew. It had flown to the feet of a boy who was examining a quite nice broom. Genevieve hated flying but she had to admit that this broom was much prettier than the once they had used in flying class. Genevieve didn't know much about brooms and really didn't care but for some reason she liked this one.
Genevieve decided to approach the boy and try to talk to him. Though she was shy the boy was alone so it was a little less intimidating for her. She walked over slowly dragging her feet behind her. When she finally got over to the other side of the Common Room the boy was still treasuring his broom.
"Nice broom. How much was it? I'm thinking of buying one this summer if the price is reasonable."

Dresden jumped down the stairs from the girls dorm one at a time, counting out loud as she went. The summer holidays were coming up and everyone was excited to be going home, or at least she was. She was looking forward to not having any homework, or classes.
As she reached the last step, she paused and looked around. She spotted Genevieve and went over to her, half skipping. She was talking to a boy who had a brand new broom in his hand.
"Cornwall! How's it going?" Dresden had grown fond of calling Genevieve "Cornwall". Ever since the day they had met, she made sure she used it as much as she could. It was like sharing a joke, but better.
"Nice broom." Dresden said, turning her attention to the boy. "Did you just get it?"
