Storms (Robert)

Rolling over Ellie madly put a pillow over her head, she was having problems falling asleep of the storm outside pulse she was a light sleeper to begin with. Rolling her eyes as another boom sounded she removed the pillow from her head and looked to see what time it was. It was 2:00 in the morning. Groaning slightly she stood up walked into the bathroom and brushed her hair. Throwing a blue and silver robe with the Ravenclaw symbol on the back she headed down into the cozy common room. She wasn't expecting anyone down there and she saw with relief that no one was. She really wasn't in a chatty mood and the fact that it was 2:00 in the morning didn't help. Sitting down in a blue chair near the still hot fire Ellie watched almost entranced by the flames as the licked the sides of the fire place.

She couldn't help but wonder what her mom was doing and if she found out if it was a boy or a girl. Her mother is six months pregnant and she has not heard any word if she is having a boy or a girl. When Ellie first found out about that her mom was pregnant she was actually upset. She was secretly scared that when the baby was born they were going to forget about her and pay attention to the baby only but as days and months went by she began to become excited and started to wonder if it was a boy or a girl. The last she had heard they had not yet found out but her parents decided on the names. If it was a girl her name would be Monica and if it was a boy his name would be Tyler. She was kind of hoping that it would be a girl but would be just as happy if it was a boy.

As she thought about this she became less and less aware of her surrounding and must not have heard someone approach. A voice disturbed her thoughts and she was so startled she jumped a little. Wondering who would be up at a time like this Ellie looked up to see who had said something.

Robert’s muggle friends were staring at him with disgusted looks on their faces as he ran away from them. They found out my secret, Robert thought to himself. Robert could not look back at them as they muttered one word over and over. Freak. Robert ran as fast as his legs would carry him, but he could still hear them chanting that word together.

Robert sat up in his bed as thunder and lighting outside his window filled the room. The other guys seemed to be asleep, so Robert quietly slipped into the blue Ravenclaw robe that had been hastily shoved into a draw next to his bed. He tiptoed out of the dormitory and into the common room. Surely nobody would be up at this hour, Robert thought to himself. He could relax in the common room without worrying about waking someone.

When Robert walked into the common room, he noticed that the flames of the fire were casting a shadow of someone. Robert held his breath, about to sneak back up to the dormitory. But he knew that he would have nothing to do and would toss in his bed for hours, so he decided to see who was at the fire.

“Hello,” he said quietly to a girl who looked slightly older than himself. She didn’t notice him come in. “Storm keeping you up, too?” he said with a smile.

She was surprised that anyone would be up at this time and it took her a minute to comprehend what this boy was saying. "Oh" Ellie said shaking her head slightly "Yea I am not the heaviest sleeper I guess you could say". Looking at this boy thoughtfully she kept racking her head what is his name? She recognized him and his name was on the tip of her tongue but she just couldn't think of it. Smiling she said "So did the storm wake you up to?" She was relieved to have someone to talk to. It kept her from thinking to hard on subjects she didn't feel like getting into. She looked into the warm fire for a moment and watched the flames dance back and fourth. There was something entrancing about the fire and it didn't help that it was warm in this chilly room.

She let her blue eyes travel across the room looking at the dark coaches and cozy arm chairs along with a few bookcases and end tables. She loved the way the fire made every thing look so mysterious and welcoming. She new this was kind of strange but when was the last time she was anything close to a normal person? She turned her attention back onto the boy and said nodding to a comfy arm chair that was across from her "would you care to join me?" She hoped he would join her because she didn't want to sit by herself anymore she felt like talking to someone.
