Elina was cold. Her bones felt as if they had ice water running through them, and chilling her marrow. She shivered harshly, even underneath three rather thick blankets. Maybe she was coming down with a cold or something, but this wasn't normal. Her brown hair was pulled back into a pony tail and in her hands she held a steaming cup of hot chocolate, she was sitting in front of the fireplace and she was still cold. Maybe it was just a chilly night. She wasn't sure. Elina shivered again and snuggled deeper into her blankets. The fire crackled threateningly, and Elina bit her lip as she stared into it. It stung her eyes a bit, but she couldn't help it. She was hoping by staring at it- she would get warmer. No such luck.
She closed her eyes and rested her head against the back of the arm chair she was curled up in. She was tired. She had been up late studying the past few nights. This wasn't anything new. Elina's life revolved around her studies. She didn't do anything on Hogsmeade weekends. She simply stayed in her dormitory and studied even more. She read books, finished them within an hour or so, and picked up a new one right after. She could hole herself up in her room on her four poster, and read for hours and hours. There were a lot of times she was told to come out and have time with friends, maybe play a game of wizards chess but she would always decline or refuse to leave until she finished a certani page, which led to a chapter, which led to two chapters, and so on and so forth.
She didn't have much of a desire to go to the common room and chitter chatter with friends. If she did, it would probably be someplace else and with a select few. Elina opened her eyes again and looked around the common room. It was nearly empty. She sighed. She was thinking about Dana and how she was glad she was doing better, but upset that such a terrible thing had happened to her cousin. At the same time she was relieved it didn't happen to Dana or anyone else, like Ashley or Jasmine. It was then she heard a familiar voice from behind her. Elina turned around and smiled at the person she saw.
