Mikayla woke up at a normal time today. Ever since she had that long talk to Dana she has been able to actually sleep at night. Mikayla felt particularly happy today. She hopped out of bed. She felt like the energizer bunny. She ran to the bathroom and took a shower. When she was finished she quickly dried off and got dressed. It was Saturday so she decided to dress in her normal regular clothes.
She got dressed in a blue 3 quarter length shirt, her cute khaki pants, and slipped over her new white sweater and her nikes. She blow-dried her hair, and for the first time in a long time she didn't put her hair back in two perfectly neat braids. She let her hair loose and wavy and free. She ran back to the bathroom to brush her teeth. She looked in the mirror and saw a girl she had never met before. Usually the girl she saw in the mirror was tired with big bags under her eyes, but this time she saw a pretty young girl with beautiful skin and no bags. She rinsed out her mouth with mouth wash and grabbed her parchment and ran down to the common room to write about her new discovery.
She grabbed her feather pen on the way out turned off her light and quickened her pace to the common room. She was truly excited. "I can't believe it!" Mikayla shouted merrily. "I can actually get to sleep now." Mikayla actually had been getting some sleep lately but this was the first time in years she had seen herself without out the sleepy eyes, the bags, and the braids. Even though the braids weren't bad, but she still felt more free and normal when her hair wasn't in two tight slicked back braids and just down and flowy like it had been before the many years without sleep.
Mikayla reached the common room. There were actually quite a few people in there but she didn't take the time to see if there was anyone she new in there she just wanted to sit down and write about her discovery. When she sat down in the couch in the common room she actually felt the soft comfort of the couch and she was finally able to relax and write down her thoughts, and not do it like a robotic thing she just did everyday. But she did it out of joy and comfort. Mikayla was able to relax and have fun, and trust me she wasn't about to waste it!
