Thien just got back from class and wanted to read this book he had received from Chels back at home. The book was about medieval times when the wizards, knights and even dragons roam free. Thien thought it was a silly book because it was written by a muggle and what she thought what was the wizarding world. But as Thien began to read it, it pulled him in making him fascinated wanting to read more and more.
Thien grabbed his book form his dorm and went to the common room with Owen, his cat trailing behind and Chelsy, his pink Pygmy-Puff on his shoulder. He sat down in a comfy armchair facing the warm fireplace. Chelsy roll down Thien’s shoulder onto the rug and began to play with Owen. Thien giggle at the two, they act like they were made for each other always playing, eating even sleeping together, they where inseparable. Opening to the spot where he’d left off, Thien began to read his book.
“the knight stumbled backward. A head, as big as the knight himself, rose higher and higher. Fearfully raising his head the knight began to stared at the towering creature. ‘Who dares to disturb me!?’ boomed it’s voice. Fumbling to his feet the knight grabs his broadsword from his belt. ‘It tis I, Sir Arthur of Camelot, and I have come to end my people’s suffering.’ The creature laughed as smoke came out of its nostrils. It moved towards the knight shaken the ground beneath it.” tap tap tap…
Thien regretfully put down his book and looked up to see a little girl that he’d seen in class before, tapping on his shoulder. “Can I assist you?” Thien ask politely.

"Ooh!" Ingrid let out as she felt the papers leave her grasp. They fluttered away from her, flying toward the staircase that led to the common room. She sighed and stood up from her bed, to follow the wild papers. Of course, it was potions. Why else would it be so light? If it was any other class, there would be too much writing on it because she would be nearly finished. Potions, however, was not the same. Her essays for potions even her notes, weren't full. They were pretty emtpy. Ingrid sighed, frustrated, and entered the common room.
Her paper had stopped. It landed in an armchair near the fire. Just as she was going to walk up to get it, someone sat on it. Ingrid glared lightly at the person. A fellow first year by the naem of Thien Vassar, and crossed her arms. Did he not see that he was sitting on her homework? She waited a bit, until he was well into his book before she stepped up and tapped him on the shoulder. He asked a rather peculiar question, which made Ingrid raise her eyebrow. Evidently he hadn't seen her homework assignment, which was now probably smooshed and muddled because of him.
"Yes, um, you're sort of sitting on my homework." Ingrid answered with a small smile.

"Oh I am. I'm so sorry." Thien apologized getting up out of the chair. "I didn't see it. Umm hey aren't we in the same class? What homework is this?" picking up the parchment and reading it. "The Affects and Uses of Ash Root" "Oh potions..." Thien said with a bit of concern. "I've done mine already, but it isn't great. If you want some help on it, I'd be happy to assist." Thien offered handing back the essay.
"Oh yea, we haven't properly introduce each other. Hi I'm Thien." He said happily.

Ingrid bit her lip as she smiled a small smile, taking her paper gratefully from him; "No it's okay. I'll finish it later. I dislike potions, but I am pretty good at it. Thanks for the offer anyway though...I might take you up on that later in the year." She folded the parchment and stuck it in her pocket before brushing her hair out of her eyes and looking at him.
Ingrid smiled as he introduced himself, "Ingrid May Lewis." She said with a nod of her head. She crossed her arms and stood. Normally she wasn't so uncomfortable around new people. And with how many people she had been meeting, one would think she was a pro at it. But she wasn't. In fact half the people she was meeting, were Slytherins. And they were cruel to her, so she wasn't exactly nice back to them.

"You show relax a little and smile some more it looks good on you. Why are you so tense? We're in Hufflepuff's common room were only Hufflepuffs are allowed. You'll only find friends in here. So take a seat and relax a little. And these chairs are really comfy." Thien said pluming into the chair he was sitting in. Thien watched Ingrid stand there as Chelsy keep rolling into Thien's leg waiting to be picked up to have a better view of this new girl.

Ingrid plopped into a chair as she was told to and looked at Thien, her head tilted to the side a little. He was right. She shoudl loosen up. She was safe in the common room, only friends could be found here- but still..she felt as if the Slytherins were watching her wherever she went. Ingrid let out a small shudder and then kicked her legs back and forth.
"What do you think of this school so far? I like it! Except for the Slytherins. Most of them seem to be so mean! Are you pureblooded, halfblooded, or muggle born? I'm muggle born...that seems to give the Slytherins an upper hand in hurting me. It's not fair! One day I am going to find a way to protect all muggle borns from insults that are thrown at them from meany head Slytherins! Just watch!" Ingrid was fired up now. Talking non stop at a speed that was almost non-existant in a book. She bit her lip in thought at what Thien thought of her.

Thien bended down to pick up Chelsy then place it on the arm rest. When Thien looked back he saw the girl take a seat and started to say something.
Thien tried to listen to all what she had to say, but couldn't catch all of it. But what he did hear, was that she was asking what blood Thien was. This question gave Thien a low blow. He was an orphan and never knew who were his parents. He'd longed to find out who they where and why had they given him up. Thien's main reason for going to Howarts was to learn magic to be able to find his lost parents. Thien stared at her thinking then snapped out of it just in time to hear her say Slytherins. Thien knew enough that anything to do with them are bad. "Yea them Slytherins are nasty and definitely deserve that." Thien replied.
