Another glance about the room, another check under the bed. It was pure habit for the young girl to pack and repack her things before the train boarded and she was to return to Blackfire Manor. Alexandra never waited until the last minute to pack, but it always ended up that she'd forget something under her bed or in her nightstand and have to repack everything. This was the normal, end of the year, routine. The other girls in her dormatory were already packed and outside with their other friends, leaving the dormatory strangely empty. Alexandra felt herself pause in her packing. She glanced once more at the lone candle, casting flickering lights across the four poster beds and making the dorm room look more like a dungeon than anything.
Alexandra hated goodbyes. Any kind, at all. It was just one of those things that she could not stand. King's Cross station was the worst. She didn't even like most of the girls who come up to her, tears pouring from their eyes and wishing her a great summer vacation. It annoyed her beyond anything else. So, she usually avoided it. A curt nod or a wave, maybe even a smile (depending on who it was) and she was gone. There was no point in saying the words.
She sighed despite herself, knowing that she would miss the castle over the next few months. Summer was rather short, only lasting a few months, but without the day to day routine of going to class and being with other students, it went by rather slowly. Alexandra nodded to herself, saying goodbye to the castle in her head. It would only be a few months before she stepped foot in it once more and walked it's halls. That was the most comforting thought that she had had all afternoon.
Slamming her trunk shut, Alexandra took a deep and set out for the Hogwarts Express. The common room wasn't quite empty, as there was a few moments before they were to board the train home. This was where she was meeting Pyro. Nodding to a couple third years, she set her trunk down and rearranged her school robes as she leaned against the wall beside the boy's dormatory stairs. She knew she could just go up there and retreive him if she wanted, but he always kept his word. He told he would meet her here and that was where she was going to wait for him.
However, with the hustle and bustle of late packing and loud voices, Alexandra quickly grew bored. She reached into her trunk and withdrew a book she had been reading. Leaning comfortably against the wall, she leafed through the pages until she found her place and began to read.

Pyro stuck his fingers into his ears and shut his eyes for a second, trying to drown out the sound. Pyro knew what this meant, and he didn't much like the implications of it. Phoenix's were creatures of good, and when Pyro had received Miaka he had gotten every piece of literature he could find on them. The cry of a phoenix was used as a rallying and uplifting melody for goodly creatures, and it disorganized and downcasted creatures of evil. Humans were a tricky mattered, since most humans lived in a healthy shade of Grey, it was always hard to judge how a Phoenix song would affect you. When Pyro had first taken Miaka in her song had been beautiful to him, it had always soothed and relaxed him. Yet recently, her notes had started to turn darker and unpleasant to his ears. Usually making him cringe and wonder if something was wrong with her, perhaps she was getting sick. Yet when he was lounging out in the courtyard he noticed the looks of serene quiet on the other student's faces and he knew the truth.
Pyro's past was and future was growing steadily darker, his actions were started to walk the clear path of evil. He had killed his own father, and done many awful things while in the service to the Chosen. Pyro had never considered himself and evil person, he was merely doing what he needed to do to keep himself alive and comfortable, even if it meant treading on some toes. Pyro threw a tarp over Miaka's cage, drowning out her melody. This distressed him more than anything, Miaka had been his companion for a long time. She was one of the closest things to his heart. If he could not bare her song in the future, would he have to give her away?
With a sigh Pyro opened his eyes and scanned the room, checking to make sure he had gathered and packed everything. With a satisfied smirk he lifted his wand, waving it and making all of his possessions float behind him as he left the dormitory and made his way into the Common room. He grinned as he noticed Alex waited for him, at the exact spot he had indicated, reading a book. Pyro moved up silently to her and than gently pushed her book down, placing a kiss on her lips. "Sorry I'm late? Are you ready to go? Here, I'll get these." With another flick of his wand he made Alex's stuff float up to join his in the levitating train behind him.
Wrapping an arm around Alex's waist he gently began to lead her through the castle down to Hogsmeade Station. "Its going to be weird. Going back to a house that I actually own."

The chocolate colored eyes moved slowly across the page, taking in the words as if they were images. Her mind floated along with the story that her eyes read. Within seconds of pulling out the book, Alexandra was immersed in the beauty of the imagined world. Reading was a hobby and nothing more to the teenager. However, she enjoyed it perhaps too much more than the average girl. Her old love for all things Vampire was slowly drifting away and being replaced with the general love of books. Boredom was repressed with hours of quiet reading, time alone was spent with her nose in a book, and she frequently bored Pyro with descriptions of her latest favorite story.
The book was about to reach it's climax, the moment when everything was revealed and the story could end, a hand pushed her book away from her site, breaking the trance. Surprise sprouted through her as she looked up to see the face of her fiance. He smiled and kissed her as a greeting. A smile crept onto Alexandra's lips as all thoughts of reading left her mind. He apologized for being late and levitate her trunk to float along behind them. She placed her book in her shoulder bag, which was slung across one shoulder. Pyro place a hand around her waist and the two began to walk out of the common room.
Alexandra sighed, content now that she had company. Books were great, but they never could replace real people. She smiled as Pyro mentioned the manor, which now belonged to him.
"It's weird for the both of us, I soppose." She looked sideways at him, "I feel weird just thinking how it'll be mine too," she smiled over at Pyro, "but I love it too."

Pyro grinned at her answer as he continued to lead the way through the castle. The long line of equipment trailing out behind him. This year had had its ups and downs, it had its very high ups, and even some of the lowest that Pyro had ever experienced. Yet he was confident that he had finally arranged everything in his life so that he would no longer have to continue down a pitch black path. He glanced over at Alex, he and her were arranged to be married now, but he would wait until after their tenure at Hogwarts before they started the ceremony. Cass was going to be out of the house soon, so the entire manor would be empty aside from the House elfs and Pyro's mother, Lust. He and Alex were practically married already.
Finally they exited the castle and were making their way down the path that lead into Hogsmeade station. All around them other student's were doing the same thing, most of them knew Pyro by reputation and they gave him a wide berth. He and Alex were never bothered as they made their way into the station. "I don't think I've ever actually been really excited to come back to school before. But I believe that next year it would be worth coming back. I'm Quidditch Captain from the get go next year. Thats something to look foreword to. Not to mention finally being a Sixth year, a true upper class man."
Using his wand to direct their trunks and bags he made them lead them into the train and float down the hall past the many compartments. Most students dived out of the way or ducked into compartments when they noticed the approach of Pyro and Alex and that made Pyro grin. Soon he found them an empty compartment and directed all of their things up into the storage rack. Giving Alex another kiss Pyro stretched and layed down across some of the seats, looking up at the cabin ceiling. His mind already racing over all the possibilities that the next year of Hogwart's would bring.

As Alexandra and Pyro made their way toward Hogsmeade station, she couldn't help but notice the way people avoided them. She didn't even have to glance at him to know that Pyro was grinning. He loved being feared. It must have given him some sort of satisfaction. While Alexandra wasn't one to give up power if offered, she didn't always enjoy being outcasted. However, this was a different type of shunning. It was she who had the upper hand in most situations. With her close relationship to Pyro, most of her fellow students associated her with him, and there fore feared and avoided her as well. It was an odd feeling. Going from the usual teasing and snearing to the upmost respect. She loved it, charished it even, but at times it could be a bit lonely.
She pushed the thoughts from her mind, trying to focus on the joy of being in a real home. She couldn't wait to be at the manor, where she could study whenever she pleased, sleep whenever she pleased, and be with Pyro comfortably, without the disturbance of other ears or classes to take up their time. She knew he would be rather busy, as he was during the holidays. Ever since Charles' death, Pyro has spent most of his time in his study, working family affairs. Alexandra understood and made the most of the few minutes he could spare. She enjoyed the life she lived now. It was almost as if she was already woman of the house. However, Lust had that title and there was no thought in Alexandra's mind in taking it from it until she and Pyro were married.
As they neared the train, Pyro mentioned how nice it will be the next year. Alexandra smiled, nodding her head. She was feeling the same toward their next year. Although she wasn't a quidditch captain or prefect, she still enjoyed the thought of nearly being finished with school. Sixth year was exciting.
"Yes, I know. I can't wait until we graduate, though. It seems like it is taking forever." She said with a slight sigh, "At least we will be of age next year." Her birthday being the day before Halloween and his in January, they were usually a year older than most other students.
Finally, they made it to the train, where Pyro conducted their luggage into an empty compartment. Alexandra ignored the fleeing students as they, too, made their way into the compartment. She returned Pyro's kiss and settled down next to Vampire, her owl, who slept in her cage with her beak tucked under a wing. Alexandra sighed, relaxing into the seat and glancing over at Pyro, who took his usual posture of sprawling out on the other seat. Her eyes took a mischievous look as she looked over at him.
"Always take up the room, do you?" She smiled as she teased him.
