"Well it is mostly like a box" she said looking down at her feet. "Like, with L's in it. I know I sound confusing" she smiled. "Hear, just fallow my lead. One Two Three.. One Two Three" she began to waltz that is all she knew how to do. "Are you getting it?"
She was having fun with Blake, she wasn't shy with him which she liked. She was always shy with Richard. But she felt Blake understood her, more than other people, which she liked.

"Oh, a box? Like the kind you get at Christmas, with the presents inside. Of course, I never get any, but, you know." Blake smiled at her, not wanting her to think he was a deprived boy. He enjoyed spending time with her, and having her, he felt less deprived, and more complete

Rachel felt Richard's hand tighten around hers, and she looked up at him and smiled. They had only entered the Ball a few minutes ago, and had already bee subjected to Patricia and Blake having a wonderful time dancing. Even though she knew Richard was over Patricia, Rachel knew how much it must hurt him to see her after what had happened between them. She rested her head on his shoulder comfortingly. "It'll be OK," she whispered, before smiling at him again. "Do you want to dance?" She asked, taking his hand and leading him towards the dance floor. Rachel placed his hand on her waist and they began to sway. Out of the corner of her eye, Rachel wondered if Patricia and Blake could see them. Their last bitter exchange was still fresh in her mind, and she really didn't want another eruption. Not when she and Richard were just meant to be enjoying each other's company. They hadn't been able to spend much time together lately, since they both were trying to study hard, and Rachel missed hanging out with him. She missed hanging out with Patricia too, but she couldnt' think about that right now. It was too painful.
As she twirled, Rachel caught a glimpse of Patricia, and looked away. If only she had said everything she had wanted to say, instead of walking away. Maybe it wasn't too late.
