Patricia stood by the Punch table. She thought, that her and Blake would have fun tonight. He was suppose to meet her hear, about two or three, minutes ago. Well then again she was rather early, more like ten minutes early herself. So it wasn't that big of deal.
She couldn't help but have her mind lingere back to Rachel. She noticed Rachel and Richard together alot over the past few weeks. She hadn't really spoken to Rachel. Which she was ashamed of. Rachel used to be her best friend. Now they never even acknowledged her in the hallway, or in class.
During the past few weeks, her and Blake have gotten better acquainted to say the least. He showed her some more spells on the Dark Arts. Which she enjoyed. Her father would be pleased of that. Blake and her had alot in common. Maybe the whole chaos with Richard was suppose to happen, all the thoughts raced through her head. Yet she was happy. The most happy she had been in the longest time.
She turned around to pour a drink, when she herd her name. She knew instantly it was Blake, which made her tingle inside. They were going to have fun tonight.

Rachel walked into the room, surprised at how wonder it looked. Everyone had done a fantastic job. She glanced around, wondering when Richard was going to arrive; it was ten to six, and he was planning to arrive at six. However, Rachel thought with a grin, he always arrived early, so there was no harm in doing the same. She looked up and stopped walking. Ahead of her was Patricia, standing alone by the Punch Table. Immediately, she had the urge to wave her over, but Rachel knew she couldn't. Patricia and her could never be like that again, there was too much history. We were once so close, she mused sadly, before looking around the room uncomfortably. And you know what? I'm going to say hello, she said determindly, lifting her chin. Even though she knew Patricia would probably laugh, or just walk away, Rachel was not going to let this chance pass her by. She wasn't just going to let their friendship die because she was embarrassed. "Patricia!" She called, wondering if she was doing the right thing. Patricia turned excitedly, and Rachel felt her face drop. Patricia thought she was someone else.

Patricia looked over, and saw that it was Rachel...her spirits crushed, yet she was a little happy to see her face. "Oh...it is you. Hi" she said with a sigh, as if she didn't even want to speak to her. Evan though she did. She defiantly wanted to. She missed Rachel. She missed the fun they had together. As much she regretted, and tried to hide it. She couldn't. "Were is Richard?"she rolled her eyes as if she didn't care. Even though again she did.

Rachel listened uncomfortably as Patricia spoke, hoping Richard would arrive soon so she could leave. Patricia made it very clear how happy she was to see her former friend, and Rachel knew it was probably best for everyone if she left now.
As she was about to bow out gracefully, Patricia asked about Richard. Rachel paused. It wasn't an odd question, but it did intrigue her, and she bit her lip as she decided how to answer. She would have to tell Patricia the truth, she knew, since she'd probably already heard, but Rachel was not looking forward to it. She had seen Patricia angry before, and did not intend to get kicked in the back again. "Oh, he should be arriving pretty soon. Maybe in five mintues or so. I know you've probably already heard, but he's my boyfriend now," she said, looking away and then back at Patricia, waiting to see her reaction. "Uh, where's Blake?"

Patricia heart sunk. Sure she knew they were together. But it hurt to actual hear it. A smirk arouse across her face. "wow..."she said sounding not intrigued or interested in the slightest. She laughed a chuckle, glancing down at her feet. "See I knew I was right. Hey?" She raised her eyebrow. She was rather hurt but didn't show it. She didn't have feelings for Richard anymore... or did she? She didn't know. She expected Rachel and Richard to get together. IT was a match. Double R's they were. Perfect from the beginning. It hurt Trisha to know that, but it was true. "Blake, will be hear later...We are sort of together now, if you didn't know?" Patricia flipped her blonde hair out of her face. She just wanted to plead, get down on the floor and beg forgiveness for Rachel to forgive her. But she knew she never would get the guts to apologize. That was just her.

"Yes, I did hear that. Congratulations," Rachel said softly, wondering when this awkward conversation would end. She hurt so badly knowing that their friendship had come to this, especially when Patricia didn't seem to be able to care less. "Well, I should probably go, Richard will be here soon," she said vaguely, gesturing pointlessly in the general direction of the door. Just knowing that Patricia didn't care at all was enough to let Rachel know that the friendship was undoubtedly over. Giving Patricia a small wave, she turned around, before pausing. Turning back, she gave Patricia a sad smile. "Oh, and you weren't right at all," Rachel said, before walking back over to the door to wait for Richard.

Patricia cocked her head to the side. "What?" she didn't understand. Of course she was right. "Wait Rachel" Patricia grabbed her arm. "How do you mean I wasn't right?" Patricia really didn't understand, Richard was going out with Rachel, just like she thought they would if she wasn't there.

Rachel looked up in surprise, and tried to shake her arm free. "Please, let go of me," she said, as calmly as she could. The last thing Rachel needed was to get into a fight at the Valentines Day Ball. It was meant to be a night where she and Richard could just have some fun, away from all the prying eyes of gossipers around the school, and away from the pressure. Rachel shook her head, and took a step backwards, physically distancing herself from Patricia. "You weren't right, because if you were still with him, he wouldn't have thought twice about me, OK? You guys would still be happy. Or at least, happily together. And nothing I say is going to change your mind about that, so I'm going to leave now," she said, turning around again. Rachel began to slowly count, desperately willing Richard to arrive.

Patricia shook her head in dismay. She didn't like this. "Rachel" she mumbled. quietly. "Wait please?" she asked softly. "I am sorry" she said quietly. She turned back and headed, to the table. This was useless. Rachel wouldn't forgive her. She hated her, she loathed her. Patricia sighed and walked back over, to wait for Blake

Rachel turned around when she heard Patricia, and was unsure of what to say. Was this a token of friendship? Was there any chance of reconciliation? Rachel bit her lip again, wondering what she should do. She missed Patricia terribly, but things were so strained and awkward between them, she did't know if they could ever be how they were again. "I'm sorry too," she said, before quickly turning around again and hurrying over to the door. Without bothering to wait for Richard any longer, she ran out the door.

Patricia cursed under her breath as Rachel, left. She turned to look. Obviously Blake wasn't hear yet. He would be hear for another ten minutes at least. She breathed a heavy sigh and chased after Rachel "RACHEL"she called. "Wait Please." Patricia stopped and saw her exiting the hall. "I..." Patrica bit her lip.
Just do it Trisha, come on. Be the Trisha that you love. The good Trisha. Call her NOW!
"I WANT MY BEST FRIEND BACK" she screamed
"please?"

"Whoa, Patricia, she never left. You can always force her back, but even if you don't, she'll come around, eventually." said Blake, striding into the room. He thought he looked very good tonight. His dark green dress robes felt like silk. Heck, he decided not to comb his hair tonight, and he thought that the rumpled look really suited him. Still, he hadn't smiled as he said that, but did when Patricia turned to face him. She was just so beautiful.

Patricia sighed as she watched Rachel leave. She had ruined her friendship, there was no possible way to, get Rachel back. She ran her fingers through her long blonde hair. She turned around to see, Blake. A smirk arouse across her face. "Hi Blake.. You look" She looked at him with wide eyes. "You look..great" she said with a smile, she walked over to him. She will talk to Rachel later in the common room, but tonight was supposed to be fun.. not worrying about things that were filled with hurt from the past.

"Thanks," he said, not knowing what she meant. Was she telling him he looked awful? Heck, he should just leave. "You look amazing. Want to dance?"

Patrcia nodded shyly. She walked up to Blake and took his hand leading him back into the room. "Sorry you had to see that, just again with Rachel" she sighed. She really missed Rachel. But she thought best to ignore it. She was supposed to have fun tonight. Not be a screaming idiot, Maybe it was best if Rachel left when she did, or she would just break down.

"It's fine. People do that. Like my dad." He felt his hand tingle when she took it. It seemed as though everything bad was revolving around him, but not happening to him. Was this karma warning him for torturing all those mice?

"Shall we dance?" she asked with a smile as she took him to the dance floor.
How do I Dance....wait yes you took dancing lessons from your father since you were nine. Come on Trisha.
She placed arms around Blake's shoulders. "Do you know how to Dance?"she asked with a timid smile.

"No, I've never had to." said Blake grudgingly. Blake felt like a million dollars. He was dancing with Patricia, everything was fine. Well, Blake thought. And you know how things end up when thought.

"Oh well I will teach you"She said with a smile. She took both his hands. "OK you put one of your hands on my waist." She put his hand on her waist. "Now give me your other hand. Now treat it like a game of chess, and you are the night." She smiled. "Do you understand?" she ask with a timid smile

"So, I tell me what to do, and I'll do it, or do we move in 'L' shape?" Blake smiled thinking this was a very funny joke. It is fun to talk about anything with Patricia, even the weirdest subjects, like love. They had spent quite a bit of time down by the lake last week, mostly talking about muggles, the Dark Lord, and life.
