The scene in the sixth year Ravenclaw boys dorm was basically chaos. It seemed that all of the boys had dates to the musical ball and all of them seemed to be trying to look the best they could. See, guys are kinda like girls. Wendi would say. Or at least she would if Jamison and Wendi were actually talking. But, Wendi needed her space for once in her life. But, this wasn't plain space, this was space from Jami specifically. Jami missed his little sister, but he understood her pain. As sad as all of it was, he understood. Jami just missed her crazy comments and extravagant ways, but she was growing up. She just was. She needed Carr now more than anyone and Jami understood. But, still it was hard. Jami shook his head lightly. Stop thinking about Wend. She'll come to you when she needs you. He told himself silently. Tonight is about Meyghan and me. Remember that. Of course Jamison knew this and he did want this to be a great, fun night for him and Meyghan, but some thoughts were hard to keep out of his mind. Jamison sighed. Would this be any easier with Wendi here?
Jamison finished putting on his dress robes. The idea of dress robes didn't excite him too much, but it was the normal outfit for these kinds of things. Of course, Jamison was much more comfortable in muggle clothes just like most other students at Hogwarts. However, the idea of dress robes wasn't too horrible. Jamison's were grayish and they suited him quite well. Jamison wasn't quite comfortable with wearing magenta and emerald robes. So, this outfit seemed perfect for him. For some reason, Jamison wanted to look up. Maybe, because he knew that Meyghan would look beautiful no matter what she wore. He hoped she knew that because Jamison knew it to be true. Even though Jamison was rather good looking himself, he didn't really think about his appearance. For him, he was just another Ravenclaw.
After slipping to the Ballroom to see if they needed any help, Jamison headed back to the main stairwell. This is where he agreed to meet Meyghan. The Ball looked lovely, but Jamison had a pit feeling in his stomach. He wasn't too concerned about security. With Voldemort dead, it didn't seem likely that any remaining Death Eaters would attack. But, Jami was completely sure that the ministry was keeping an eye on the event. They probably would for the rest of Hogwart's Existence, but Jami didn't mind this. The pit feeling in his stomach was for the singing. Of course, the whole Ball theme was a musical. Jami would sing his feelings to Meyghan once inside a mist. Jami wasn't really sure of what he would sing if he did. Jami had many feelings, many thoughts. He could sing about how much Meyghan meant to him, or even the danger Wendi was in. Jami hoped that is was the first choice. Jami hadn't told Meyghan about Keith yet solely because he hadn't had the chance. Being a Prefect kept things pretty busy for him. He would tell her. When he was ready he would.
Jami stepped near the stairwell waiting for Meyghan. He pulled a red heart shaped piece of hard construction paper out of his pocket. Yes, as dorky as it was, Jami was giving Meyghan a valentine. maybe dorky, but sweet none the less. Jamison always gave out Valentines to a girl every year, but of course, that had always been Wendi. Jamison smiled at that thought. She had always loved her Valentines. But, this year was different. This year was Meyghan and Jami together. This Valentine's Day would be something special, Jami could already feel it. Having life in a musical could may lead to Jami saying something crazy, but he would mean it all the same. Jamison smiled as Meyghan walked down the steps. He took a few steps towards her smiling all the while. "You look beautiful Meyghan." He said in his warm toned voice. He meant every word. "Umm, I made you a Valentine as silly as that may be." Jami said turning red a wee bit. He handed her the read paper. It said Be My Valentine? In gold cursive letters and littles stars around the letter were enchanted to change colors. Jamison smiled warmly and waited for Meyghan to respond.

Meyghan realized just how special tonight would be. It was Valentine ’s Day and Jamison had chosen to ask her out of all the girls in the school to attend the Ball with him. This was a good sign in the deep thoughts of her mind, and maybe it meant that Jamison felt the same things for her that she felt for him. She hadn’t been able to tell him how she had felt although she had tried many times. There was just something about admitting her feelings about him that she just couldn’t bring herself to do yet. It seemed as if everyone else knew. Her entire family, including the newer members knew and Gary had told her more than once that she should just explain it to Jami. She replied with a simple “I wish it was that easy.” Meyghan understood how she felt, but in front of Jami had not been able to put it into words just yet. Meyghan was so confused at times that it was beyond funny to her brother Cleveland.
Looking at the sun outside her window, Meyghan realized that she would have to be getting dressed soon. She had already decided on a gown, and just needed to get it out and perform a few charms on it, since it was in her wardrobe at the moment. She walked to her wardrobe, and pulled out the elegant smoky grey Ball gown. She had picked it out very carefully. The gown, a floor length silk dress with a simple neckline that came across the top of her chest even with her shoulders, the sleeves showing the top of her shoulders, and coming just above the elbow, the back with a simple heart shape where usually a tear-drop would be. The bodice in the front the same color of the gown with a heart designed grey lace lying across it softly. Meyghan laid the gown across her bed, and moved to her night-stand to get her wand. With a wave and a small incantation, she quickly charmed a light dusty coating of silver glitter across the whole gown. “Perfect.” She said softly speaking to no one, for all of the other girls had rushed to the bathrooms to fix make-up, hair and the latter for each other. Meyghan had already decided on how she would do her hair, and she had a beautiful pair of earrings to go along with the gown.
Slipping a towel around her shoulders, Meyghan sat on her bed next to her nightstand, and accio’d her make-up to her side. She would start with a fair translucent powder for her base, and then elegant smoke grey eye shadow applied not too dark. Her eye liner being a darker shade and with its definition giving her eyes a cat eye type appearance. Meyghan smiled looking in the mirror, happy that she had reached the exact effect that she was looking for. Sliding on a pale peach lip gloss with silver glitter in it made Meyghan’s smile even larger. Almost done, she swept her hair off her neck, and pulled it up into a heart shaped bun, charmed a few sparkles through the bangs that hung neatly around her face, almost following the curves of it, and a few diamond gems into the bun to outline the heart perfectly, Meyghan was happy that her guessed look was coming together as well as Kelsey had said that it would. Meyghan pulled her dress off the bed, slipped into it, and zipped it carefully. After being fully dressed, Meyghan sat down in a chair that was in the common room, and pulled on the glass looking slippers that she had found to match her dress. The outfit its self had put a small cut in her father’s budget that he had given her, but after seeing the outfit, he had only smiled. He understood how she felt about Jamison and understood why she felt that she had to look like a princess for him. Felton had only nodded his approval when she explained everything. Her elegant strappy clear heels added an inch and a half to her height and she hoped that it wouldn’t make her appear too tall for Jamison, but she smiled as she reached for her matching hand bag which held a bit of a surprise for Jamison. A stuffed tiger had been charmed to ask “Will you be mine?” as it held a heart in it’s hands that said “Happy Valentine’s Day” and had temporarily been shrunk so that it would fit in her bag. Meyghan wasn’t sure if Jamison would like the Valentine’s present that she had picked but she hoped it would help when she broke into song as soon as they were in the mist.
Meyghan knew that she had to meet Jamison at the main stairs and wasn’t sure what his reaction to her would be as she descended the stairs carefully, thoughts finally making her nervous about the fact that she would soon be singing her feelings instead of talking about them softly. She wasn’t worried about which feelings would come out, for she knew the only ones in her heart at the moment were the ones for Jamison. She could feel her heart flutter every time his name was mentioned, or every time she saw him. Meyghan wondered how she had held the feelings in so long already. She knew there was no way that she would be able to hold them in when the magical mist was around them.
Meyghan found herself suddenly at the top of the main stairs, ready to descend like a princess would normally be found doing and as she had pictured herself doing many, many times before. She looked down to see Jamison standing at the bottom of the stairs waiting for her, smiling at him, she carefully made her way down trying not to rush, for she was afraid she might fall. As she reached Jamison, she noticed the smile on his face. It appeared to be a good smile, one filled with happiness. “Thank You. You look handsome yourself.” Meyghan said smiling almost feeling tears welling in her eyes. Not sad tears though, tears of joy. “Home made Valentine’s are never silly, they take a lot of concentration, and consideration.” She said as she took the paper Valentine from Jami, smiled, and nodded that she would be his Valentine. Then she reached into her hand bag, pulled out the tiny stuffed white tiger, and her wand. A quick engorgio charm done, she put her wand away. “I got this for you.” She said smiling as the tiger softly spoke using her voice and asked Jami to be hers. “I’m afraid I’m not too good at the home made once, I hope you like her.”

Jamison smiled lightly. He could already feel that this would be a good night. After all, it was Valentine's Day. Jamison hadn't heard one bad thing that had ever happened on the day of love, well at least he didn't remember any of those stories. Jamison remembered that Wendi used to insist that Valentine's Day was all Cupid's doing and that he made everyone fall in love with his golden heart arrows. Jamison always would laugh as she told the story. He had always been more practical than Wendi, but over the years she had taught him something. Wendi had taught Jami how to dream and he would never forget that even went hey weren't speaking. Jamison smiled lightly at Meyghan. She really looked beautiful. Jami love being around Meyghan being she had such a presence. Jami had known her as a house mate for years, but he wasn't until fifth year that the two really began to connect. Jami smiled. What would he sing tonight? Now, he wasn't sure of that. Jami and Meyghan weren't officially dating or at least, they hadn't talked about being boyfriend and girlfriend officially. Could he just ask like that? Were they ready for that? What would she say? These thoughts raced around Jami's mind.
Jami shrugged as Meyghan said he looked handsome himself. "Are you sure? I think one of the boys said I could use mascara." He joked lightly. Jami smiled. He could easily be himself with Meyghan without thinking, but someones he was still kind of nervous. Jamison wasn't like some of those heartless sorts of boys. He was more mature than that even though Jami never thought that. Jami had a sister and he knew that he wouldn't want a boy to treat her badly. So, he had promised to treat the girl he wanted to date as Wendi should be treated. Had Wendi found that in Carr? A boy three years older? Carr and Wendi had defiantly been on the gossip circle lately. But, Jami had only heard that they were friends. But, still he had a feel. Stop. He thought to himself. Jamison smiled lightly. He could move past thoughts of Wendi. He could.
Jamison laughed. "Well, my mum used to make me and Wendi Valentines sort of like that." He said softly. "Actually, she used a lot of lace, but I always think of her when I make them every year and I do make them every year." He said thinking of his mother fondly. "That's one of the only traditions that I think I like more than Wendi." He laughed lightly. True, they were kind of touchy subjects with him now, but he could talk about them with Meyghan. Jami knew she would understand a bit. Meyghan didn't have a mum either. Well, she did have a mum now didn't she? Still, Jami was pretty sure that she could understand. Jamison smiled as Meyghan said that she could be his Valentine. "Well, thank you dear lady." He said kindly.
Jamison smiled at the tiger that Meyghan gave him. Jami smiled taking the tiger in his arms. "Thanks. I love her." Jami smiled as the tiger asked Jami to be hers. It was Meyghan's voice. He knew that the tiger meant this as a cliche Valentine's thing. Well, most likely it did. It would take time for Jami to really ask Meyghan to be his girlfriend. He didn't know how long though. They had gotten to know each other really well over the past year, but they were still learning weren't they. And first, Jami needed to tell her how her really feels. That would be step number one. "Of course I will." Jamison said as he took Meyghan's hand and kissed it lightly. Jamison looked around them. He noticed the start of a missed down the hall by one of the classrooms. No one was there yet. Jamison looked back at ready. "Are you ready to explore a mist? I'm kind of nervous I have to admit. I could tell a dark secret or something." Jamison looked at the ground. Then, he realized that his words sounded funny. "Well, not that that's a bad thing or anything.." He stopped himself. "Umm, you ready to sing Miss Gallagher?" He asked smiling towards his beautiful date.

Meyghan smiled as Jamison explained the past behind the hand-made Valentine that he had given her. Meyghan understood just how special it was for Jamison to have thought enough of her to make her one as well. And how hard it was for him to talk about his mum. These were things that the two had been able to talk about so much more lately. Life had been a bit easier with Jamison around to talk to. She had found a true friend and someone that she could really relate to and that was special to her, as were the feelings welling up in her heart as he stood there ever so politely. Meyghan had never really thought that she could fall in love, but that’s exactly what she was feeling, and she couldn’t admit that she was nervous about tonight.
Meyghan smiled a bit nervously as Jamison accepted the tiger she had given him. It made her nervous because she wasn’t sure if Jami would take the tiger’s phrase as just the usual Valentine’s Day cliché or seriously, which was the way it was intended. She half heartedly hoped that Jami took it as just the usual cliché. She wasn’t sure if she was ready to admit her feelings for him, although they had been bubbling below her surface for some time now, just waiting to explode. She only giggled slightly when Jami said that he would and lightly kissed her hand. Her thoughts immediately turned to how gentleman like Jami was compared to some of the other fifth year boys that she had met. She enjoyed it, and thought it was nice to be treated with such caress and tenderness.
“I must admit myself that I’m a bit nervous about going through the mists tonight. I don’t think there are any dark secrets that I have hidden, but I’m not sure. I am just nervous, since I don’t know what’s going to be said or heard.” She said laughing slightly. “But let us begin this journey and be glad that we are in the best of company as we approach each unknown destination.” Meyghan laughed once again at the serious sound in her own voice. “I’m just playing around. Trying to lighten my own nerves. But I do believe I am as ready as I will ever be for this journey.” She took Jamison’s hand and waited for him to lead the way through their first mist.

Jamison sighed to himself. Was he ready for this? Was he ready to sing for Meyghan? He wanted to, he really did, but something felt weird. It was just that, Jamison had no clue what he would sing about. He had no idea and it scared him as to what he might say. Jamison didn't have much to hind, but there were some things about him and his family that were hard for Jami to admit to anyone. A lot of people knew at school that Jami and Wendi's parents had died when they were both young. That wasn't a secret and it wasn't hard for Jamison to talk about. But, somethings that had to do with Wendi and Keith even, Jami didn't even like to think about some issues involving them. What happened if he sang them to Meyghan? Would it totally freak her out? Because the thought of it freaked Jamison out. Jamison wasn't like Wendi. He couldn't say every thought on his mind without thinking about it at all. He sighed. Somethings were just difficult and that was just the way that it was. Jamison thought about Wendi again. She would tell him to just let go. It was as simple as that for her. He sighed again. He could do that, right?
He nodded. "Yea, I understand." He said calmly. He looked at Meyghan and could tell she was about as nervous as he was. He sighed. They could do this. He could do this. It was just as simple as singing, nothing more, right? He sighed. No, it wasn't just singing. Nothing was ever just about singing. For a moment, Jami wished that he had brought his guitar with him. Something about it gave him confidence. He liked playing his own melodies and humming along with them. He sighed. This wouldn't be his music. This was going to be music that he would never have been able to dream of. He smiled for a brief moment and looked softly to Meyghan. Jamison nodded to Meyghan. "Yea, I think this will be a journey that I will remember. You here." He said with his words full of true meaning. Jamison smiled in his deep, meaningful way. Then, he looked to the mist. Then, Meyghan took Jami's hand and let them into the mist.
For a moment, he seemed just like Jamison, plain Jamison. Then he heard the music begin to play, and he could feeling that it was his time to sing. Jamison still held on to Meyghan's hand. He took her other hand and stared into her eyes as the words began to fall from his lips. "When I see your smile, tears run down my face I can't replace. And now that I'm strong I have figured out, how this world turns cold and it breaks through my soul and I know I'll find deep inside me I can be the one." Jamison could feel the music in him. The words were just coming to him and he had no clue where they were coming from. He just looked into her beautiful eyes and sang this song. Then, the chorus came up. "I will never let you fall. I'll stand up with you forever. I'll be there for you through it all even if saving you sends me to heaven." Jamison smiled to Meyghan as the music continued but no more words came to his head. He smiled. "Wow, that was.." He stopped and eyed her. "Do you want to dance?" He asked feeling such an intense feeling right now. If they danced then maybe they could talk. Maybe Jamison could let some of this emotion out.

Meyghan stood somewhat shocked as they entered their first mist. She smiled as Jamison turned toward her and took her other hand. Looking in his eyes hoping to see what was in his mind, she listened with intrigue as Jamison began to sing to her. Meyghan almost couldn’t believe that Jamison was singing to her almost the exact feelings that were in her heart. She felt the same way about him, but so much more as well. Would she get the sensation to tell him this? She smiled as she listened to every word, almost hanging on them as he sang. His voice, the most beautiful that she had heard in a long time. She hoped that the next mist would bring her chance to sing to Jamison what she was feeling in her heart.
Surprised by his invitation to dance, Meyghan smiled and nodded shyly. Why was she feeling this way? She knew what was in her heart. Why was it so difficult to let it all out. She could feel it bubbling up through her as the two danced. But she wanted to talk first, not just sing to him. “Jamison, that was beautiful.” She said softly, hoping that in some way before the night was through she would have the chance to tell him that she felt the same way too. Dancing slowly, she wandered what was going through Jamison’s mind at the moment. She swallowed a dry swallow just to keep what was inside of her from coming out at the moment.
As the two danced, Meyghan had a strange sensation wash over her. She could tell Jamison’s song was true, and deeper felt than most realized. She held close to that and hoped for the truth from her heart to be released. She needed the feelings to be spilled so it would relieve some of the stress and tension. Meyghan’s feelings were driving her crazy and into a quiet self induced seclusion. It was as if she didn’t have the words in her to express her feelings for Jamison. She closed her eyes and swallowed hoping that the dance would never end. If there was one Valentine’s Wish that Meyghan wanted to come true, it would be for the truth to come out of her.
She opened her eyes again, and looked up at Jamison. “What are you thinking about?” She asked wondering what was going through his mind. But before he was able to answer, Meyghan felt the strange feeling that she was going to open her mouth and everything come flying out, Meyghan knew that she really was ready for the words to come out, she wanted the truth out, she needed Jamison to know how she felt about him, and how much she needed him.
“So this is love, So this is love, So this is what makes life divine, I'm all aglow, And now I know. The key to all heaven is mine. My heart has wings, And I can fly, I'll touch ev'ry star in the sky So this is the miracle that I've been dreaming of So this is love, This is love, This is love, This is love, This is love, Until tonight Love was a word Of a place I've often heard A mystery Now its clear as it can be So this is love, Until tonight Love was a word Of a place I've often heard A mystery Now its clear as it can be So this is love”
Meyghan closed her mouth all of a sudden and looked up at Jamison. “I, umm. I think I can explain.” Meyghan’s face was as red as the roses that were used to decorate the room where she and Jamison stood. She looked at him, hoping to be able to read the expression on his face, and wandered if he knew that everything she felt had just come out into that one song.

Everything Jamison had sung was true. He just wished he had the guts to say it all in words. Why didn't he? Jamison sighed. He had always been such a laid back person. He had never before felt like saying something so badly in his life. Well, that wasn't completely true. At his parent's funeral, Jamison wanted so badly to look at baby Wendi and tell her that mummy and daddy loved her, but he couldn't do it. Only tears had come out that day. It wasn’t exactly a secret that Jamison cared about the women in his life. He cared about both Wendi and Meyghan and Gram. Of course, in different ways. But, that was the Jamison had grown up. He had learned always to respect women and sometimes the thought of that got the best of him. And even though he wouldn’t admit it, sometimes he got just a tad scared around Meyghan. Jamison had never really felt this way about a girl. Wendi had always said that Jamison didn’t have a girlfriend because he cared too much. This never made sense to Jamison, but Wendi knew that it was true. Then again, she had always been a good judge of character. And she had always known everything there was to know about Jamison. Even though she wasn’t speaking to him, she could still tell what he was thinking when she saw a glimpse of him in the hall.
As they danced, Jamison wished that he could tell what Meyghan was thinking just as Wendi could tell what he was thinking. Then again, it wasn’t a super power or anything like that. No, Wendi just knew Jamison better than anyone. Years spent around made her keen to his reaction to certain situation and his feelings toward certain things. Jamison wished that he could do this for Meyghan. He wished that he knew her that well. Yes, Jamison knew Meyghan, but not like he knew Wendi. Then again, Jamison had known his sister for all of her life. Still, Jamison wished he could know what Meyghan was thinking, ease any fears or scary thought in her brain. True, the simple thought of wanting the ability sounded sill, but Jamison didn’t care. He never cared about how thoughtful he could be nor did he really think of himself as more thoughtful than any other guy. Jamison was the way and he was. Sometimes, there were things about him he wished he could change. But, the want to make people happy, he wanted to keep that as long as he could. Forever maybe.
Jamison smiled slightly as Meyghan asked what he was thinking about. And just when Jamison was about to tell her the truth, exactly what he was thinking about. Meyghan started singing. At first he smiled as she sang in what Jamison thought of as a beautiful voice. Then, he started to realize that she meant what she was saying. She meant every word. So this is love. She meant it, didn’t she? As he looked at her beautiful eyes, Jamison knew that she wasn’t lying. Maybe she wasn’t ready to say such things, Jamison wasn’t sure. But, she meant it. The feeling that she meant those words made Jamison beam on the inside. As soon as the song stopped Meyghan said that she could explain. She shook his and touched his hand to her cheek. “You don’t have to.” He started smiling with passion gleaming in his eyes. “You know, it sounds corny, but I don’t actually know what love is. I’ve only ever loved three women in my life before this and you know, I’m related to all of them.” He paused. “I don’t really know what it is like this, but I do know how I feel. And I feel like I’m in love with you.” He said meaning every word. Jamison wanted to kiss Meyghan so bad, but he was a gentlemen. He held off. He wanted to hear what she had to say. He wanted to know if she felt the same way.
