The dungeons were quickly filling with students who were preparing for the new Halloween event. Although he wasn't overjoyed, Kennedy thought the idea seemed better than the normal feast in the Great Hall. He figured he might as well give it a try and, in the mean time, enjoy the sight of seeing most of the girls and even younger boys be scared out of their minds. Kennedy wouldn't of called himself the bravest person, but he knew that nothing in the maze was going to be anything serious enough to get worked up over.
As he looked around for a familiar face, Kennedy took a pair of the required horns and held them in his hand. He didn't want to put them on until he absolutely had to. The thought of having glowing protrusions sticking out of his head just seemed a bit juvenile for him, but rules are rules he concluded.
As he looked for someone to do the maze with, he saw a familiar girl standing across the room. The red hair made it easy to identify Mary, a fellow fifth year Slytherin. Remembering their trip on the Hogwarts Express last year, he approached her with an evil grin on his face as he put the silly looking green horns on his head. "Truth or Scare?" he said with a laugh. "What do you say we start this Fright Fest already? The party is at the end, and I'm hungry now. The sooner we get through, the faster I can eat." He looked at Mary and expected one of her smirks.
Noticing Mary's head lacked the glow that many others around had, Kennedy walked back over to the table and grabbed another pair of green horns. "Since we know you are no angel, you might want to put these on," he said, with a grin as he tossed the headband to Mary. "In case you are too afraid, I will lead," he added as he started into the maze.
The light was very dim, and only the glow of their horns were what made it possible to walk without running into the dungeon walls. Fortunately, there were only a few turns before Kennedy could hear voices. Soon, he saw the light begin to increase as he and Mary approached the first room. Inside there were a few other groups of students who had already started. He figured there would be some sort of task or puzzle that they would have to finish before moving on. With a look of curiosity, Kennedy asked Mary, "What do you suppose we do now?"

Halloween, a very important holiday, and not quite one of Mary's favourites. The feast was always fun and they certainly got a lot of good food, plus Mary always enjoyed dressing up though she never went for anything scary, she was more the princess type, but it was the scary aspect of Halloween that Mary did not quite enjoy. She was never one for not being able to see where she was going or who was coming up to her but regardless of that she had chosen to come down to the Fright Fest anyways. Not that she really wanted to participate, more show off her costume. She was finally fifteen and in the older half of the school, she felt that entitled her to dress up the way she liked and show it off, tonight it was a fun tight little red top and long black skirt that looked like something from an old fashioned cowboy show. The heels of her long black boots clicked on the tiled floor as Mary walked around the room trying to inspect the costumes of others as well as the decorations that had been put up. From behind she heard a familiar voice ask her an, almost, familiar question. "In this case I think I have no choice but to select 'scare' seeing as it it Halloween." Mary said with a smirk as she turned to face Kennedy. "No angel? I will have you know I used to be an angel... before I feel from grace. But then even Lucifer was an angel and he wears a pair of these now so I suppose..." Mary said taking the pair of green horns from Kennedy and placing them on her head. "How do they look?" she asked modeling them for him. "If you are so eager to prove your masculinity I suppose I will let you lead." Joked Mary a second after Kennedy stepped forward to ensure he really was ahead of her and didn't change that - she really didn't want to be in front. Had he not approached her Mary probably wouldn't even be in the silly maze. But, she really had to go, or so she tried to convince herself as an excuse for putting herself in this situation. "I will even hold onto your sleeve and allow you to lead me if you like." Mary said taking Kennedy's arm so they wouldn't get separated in the dark, as well as so she had at least one solid thing she could depend on. A murmur of voices could be heard in the distance as Mary and Kennedy approached but Mary still held on as though for dear life just hoping Kennedy wouldn't object. "I really don't know. Just wait like everyone else, I suppose." Mary said very quietly in response to Kennedy's question. She really hadn't the slightest idea what was going on and that was a feeling that certainly disconcerted her. ((For the possibly jealous girlfriend no worries Mary has no intentions to go after your man she is just a flirt plus is scared - she is too much like me lol))

Why had she volunteered for this again? Why in the world had she decided this was how she wanted to spend her Halloween week? Oh, yeah, she had to. Stupid Professor Miller had decided it would be good for her, had decided it would build her character. Oh, what did she know? Miranda growled as a group of students entered - chattering happily. She glared at them and then looked down at her costume, she wore a white dress that resembled one a bride would wear at her wedding, only this one had blood all over it. Her red hair was up in a twist with some loose hairs out here and there. She wore pearl earrings that were charmed black, which gave them a creepy feel - and a big necklace was around her neck. Stupid costume, but it was the only thing left. She was supposed to look mournful, but that didn't happen with how angry she was at the world.
Finally, a group of two students entered - she recognized them as Slytherins (not only from the horns) and walked up to them. She wasn't caring about her appearance, "If you wish to continue, you must follow me. But quickly, before they see." Oh, great. They even had her speaking in ryhmes. It was part of the gig, and Miranda despised it - yet it came out rather quickly and effortlessly. She looked at them one more time, hiking up the creep appeal, and then led them to a room off to the right. The door hadn't been there before, which made Miranda wonder if they noticed. There was a set up of a table and twelve bowls. Blindfolds were beside the first bowl, and that's where Miranda led them. She picked up the blindfolds and put on one each of them.
"Once in this town there lived a man. T'was years ago, on this very night, that he was murdered out of spite. They say these are his remains." She started, her voice soft but aggressive. She led the girl's hand to the first bowl and set it in, then did the same with the boy's, "Here is his brain, which now feels no pain." Miranda smirked and looked down into the bowl, if they actually thought it was a brain they were a disgrace to Slytherin, "Make a guess, but don't get it wrong."

With Mary tightly gripping his arm, Kennedy was starting to sense that she might be a little more afraid than he thought. When he asked her opinion of what to do next, she seemed just as clueless as he was. Luckily, it wasn't long before a girl wearing a white bridal dress approached the two of them. She didn't seem to happy to be there, but she prompted that they should follow her. Deciding it was what they were supposed to do, Kennedy followed her and led Mary who was still attached to his arm.
They entered a room in which Kennedy noticed twelve bowls sitting on a table. Before he got a chance to see what was inside, the girl put a blindfold on both Mary and Kennedy and then began telling them something about a man who was murdered. Then, Kennedy felt a hand grab his and push it into one of the bowls. At first he thought it was Mary grabbing him, but he then realized it was the girl putting both his and Mary's free hands into the bowl to feel the contents. The girl then said that it was a brain, but they had to make a guess. Kennedy figured they had to guess what was actually in the bowl, seeing that it was unlikely that it was a real brain.
Hearing no sound from Mary, Kennedy spoke first. "It feels like pasta to me," he said with a shrug. "What does Miss Cowgirl think?" he asked with a grin, knowing that Mary was most likely shooting an equally sarcastic smirk his way. The more he picked on her, the more fun he found it. After all, she got the best of him the day in the train. Maybe tonight would be his night to see her squirm. So far, he could tell she wasn't very into this whole Halloween thing. Not that he wanted to upset her- it was merely playful fun that he knew Mary would dish right back when given the chance.

The pair were brought into another room by some girl in a dead bride costume and as soon as Mary saw nothing was going to jump out at her she let Kennedy go. Sure, the kid was a bit of a freak, but that was her job really. They were brought over to a table and Mary rested one of her hands on it, for stability sake really, she still wasn't so into the "Halloween" thing. The kid then put blindfolds on the two of them and started chattering on in rhyme. Mary felt her hand being picked up and gripped the table harder with the other. She felt something in what felt like a bowl that her hand had been placed in and shuddered, she hated anything that would make her hands sticky or gross.
It felt almost stringy and she would have snorted when she was told it was brains if she wasn't so thrown off by being blindfolded. They were asked what it was and Mary shrugged. Kennedy answered he thought it was pasta then had the gall to call her 'Miss Cowgirl' in asking her what it was. "Well," she began, ignoring his name with no more response than a small smirk, "it certainly isn't something that's good for my manicure." It really did feel like pasta, though, cooked pasta and fairly stringy. "Is it spaghetti; and can I get my hand out of here?" Mary asked in a bored tone; still clinging the table so hard her knuckles must have been turning white.

Miranda watched, with complete boredom written on her face, as the girl put on a tough mask. One quick look at the girl's hand and she saw them turning white from grasping the table. Miranda smirked as they both made their guesses and seemed to have gotten it right. She gave the boy, who had made the initial guess, a suspicious look. She wondered if he had gotten the cheats from someone else before entering the maze, but maybe that was just Miranda being Miranda. She led both of their hands to the next bowl and dipped them in, curling the curls around the contents.
"Here are his eyes, still frozen with surprise." Miranda was almost bored out of her mind, but she signed up for this so she had to play the part - unfortunately. She growled and waited for their answer, when she realized she hadn't said anything about making a guess. Oh well, they got the idea. Hopefully. If they didn't, than they weren't as smart as they should be.

Kennedy had a hard time keeping from laughing at Mary. Just the tone of her voice made it obvious that she wasn't enjoying this particular task. He would have liked to have seen the look on her face, but her voice would have to do since he had to keep the blindfold on.
The girl who was guiding them seemed very cold. She didn't say anything after their guess, but simply placed their hands in another bowl and then continued with the story. As soon as Kennedy's hands touched the contents of the bowl, he knew Mary would like this one even less. He felt chunks floating in a sticky liquid. Finding a piece of the solid matter with his fingers, he rolled it between his thumb and index finger. Eyes, he thought to himself as he squeezed the spherical lump causing it to burst in his hand. When it popped, he felt juices oozing out of the fleshy exterior. "It's gotta be grapes," he said assuredly. "Hungry Mary?" he asked, taking one of the 'eyes' and holding it out to where he thought her head might be. It was too bad she couldn't see him, for he knew the look of disgust that she would be giving him. Realizing it was no use since she was wearing a blindfold, he hesitantly popped the round object in his mouth and bit down on it. "Definitely grapes," he said as he wondered whether or not the girl would get mad at him for putting one in his mouth. However, he was starting to get the idea that she really didn't care what happened. Her minimal speech and bored tone of voice gave him a feeling that she didn't want to be there. Kennedy swallowed the grape and waited for Mary to either agree with him or not. If she didn't agree, he would simply give her the option of eating one like he did, and he knew she would never do that, so she was bound to agree with him.

Mary was relieved when they girl finally took her hand out of the food. But then it was only placed in something else, this one cold, not an improvement. Mary pursed her lips as she felt around in the cold liquid for the "eye balls" that were supposedly in there. She felt better not having to move around in the dark but she still wished they didn't need the silly blindfolds. Groping around Mary found without sight a vaguely oval shaped piece of something solid as Kennedy asked if she was hungry. "I'm afraid grapes posing as eye balls in a disgusting bowl are not to my liking though feel free to eat it yourself. It's not like you can get sick from eating something you don't know who has touched; oh wait, you can. Boys." Mary said rolling her eyes though it could not be seen. "Oh, and if you really need my guess stated outright, it's grapes. Now, get my hand out of this God forsaken bowl before I touch you both with it."
((Sorry it sucks and is so short... I am oh so tired and not in the mood. Hope my next will be better...))

Miranda smirked at the girl's smart comments to the boy. They both guessed something, and Miranda peered into the bowl. She nodded, "Lucky guess," she said, although she knew it was far from that. It was an easy guess and something that a five year old could tell what it was. God, they were magical couldn't they do something to make the thing more interesting? Guess not. Miranda grunted and pulled the girl's hand into the next bowl, then followed with the boys.
"Here is his heart, be careful lest it start!" She pretended to gasp and then rolled her eyes. Would this night ever end?
((You guys both don't have to guess now. Just one. *Nod* It makes it go by faster. As well, sorry for my delay. The days will be deducted from your score.))
