What's up? (( Melissa))

Leah was in the library sitting down reading a book. It was 'Hogwarts a history'. It was very boring and she didn't even know why she was reading it. Leah took out a picture of her family from her pocket. It had her baby brother Kyle in his baby blue baby suit with ducks swimming all over them.


Then there was Kayla, her 5 year old sister with golden curls and a soft yellow dress. Her mom was in her soft pink dress and had her black hair up in a bun. And her dad was in a black suit with his blonde hair pulled back with gel. The only one missing was her. That's when her baby brother just came home. At the time Leah was here.

Skipping into the half empty library with her brown hair swaying behind her she stopped at a row with various books about jinxes and charms. Picking one that’s spine was fairly worn and the cover was a little faded thinking that if it has been read this many times someone must have enjoyed it. Walking out of the row she saw a couple of tables with no one sitting at them, not really felling like sitting by her-self today she kept walking until she saw a table with a girl with what looked like a very big book next to her but was looking at something else. Deciding that she might as well talk to this girl because there didn't seem to be very much people in here any ways she walked over to her and plopped down in a chair across from her. Smiling slightly she said in a sweet voice "Hi I'm Melissa Gunner but you can call me Mel"

Tucking a piece of her long brown hair behind her ear she looked around to see that there was only one other person which she could tell was highly older then she was and didn't look very friendly. Looking back at the girl she waited for her response.

While Leah was looking at her family picture, a girl walked up to her. She said her name was Melissa. " Hi.. um I'm Leah and you can call me Leah because I don't have a nickname." Leah said while giggling at the end. " I guess your probably wondering why I'm not reading. Well , number 1 it's boring and number 2 I'm looking at my family's picture." Leah said while looking at her picture and smiling. " See him? Well that's my baby brother, Kyle.


He's about 1 year old now but then he was 1 month." Leah said while pointing to Kyle. " This is my little sister, Kayla. She is 4 there but 5 now." Leah said while pointing to the curly blonde headed girl in the picture. " And of course, there's my mom, and there's my dad."Leah said while pointing to the couple in the back.

Watching as the girls eyes roamed onto were she was sitting she let out her all too famous smile. She loved her smile and thought it was he best features; she thought that when she smiled her whole face lit up. Listing as the girl said "Hi... um I'm Leah and you can call me Leah because I don't have a nickname. Laughing slightly along with this new girl Mel looked at a photograph that the girl named Leah was now referring too. Looking at the picture she couldn't help but smile. She had always wanted a younger sister or brother but she of course was an only child. "Your family looks so happy" Mel said in a true happy voice then continued out loud" I wish I had a younger or even older sibling at that but I don’t I am an only child.

Shaking her long brown hair out of her eyes she continued "So… what house and year are you in?" "I am a Hufflepuff 3rd year" Letting her honey wander around the library only so slightly she realized she remembered about the book that was in front of her while waiting for an answer she opened the book up to a random page.

Leah was looking at Mel and waiting for a response. Finally she answered. "Well.. sometimes Kayla gets on my nerves , but unusually not like any 5 year old I know she doesn't bother me that much. I know my family is usually happy but now there not. It's because my dad is an auror and he was guarding Hogsmeade the day of the attack.. He got hurt very badly. He's in St. Mungo's right now with multiple brain injuries and he's in a coma. They don't know if he'll wake up." Leah said while starting to cry. After 5 minuties of trying to calm herself down she did. Her face was tear streaked. " I'm a third year Gryiffindor." She said while sniffing a few times.

" Where were you while Hogsmeade and Hogwart were attacked? I was infront of Catalina's Cubby while I watched in shock 2 girls being carried of by a Death Eater. Then I started running toward Hogwarts and saw people running from there. So, I went into the Hog's Head because luckily no Death Eaters or fires were there. I was in a corner with my cloak over me." Leah said calmly and quietly. This always happened. When ever she cried, after her vocal cords would be weak. " Let's go to the Court Yard." Leah said with a smile

"Well... sometimes Kayla gets on my nerves, but unusually not like any 5 year old I know she doesn't bother me that much. I know my family is usually happy but now there not. It's because my dad is an Auror and he was guarding Hogshead the day of the attack... He got hurt very badly. He's in St. Mungo's right now with multiple brain injuries and he's in a coma. They don't know if he'll wake up" The girl named Leak responded. She for one of the very few times in her life felt speechless. She couldn't help but think what it would be like to worry everyday if your dad was going to make it. Looking up at the girl she saw tears in her eyes and watched as they started to fall. Really not sure what to say Mel said "Do you by any chance now who his healer is (A healer is a doctor)?" She thought that maybe by chance that her mother was dealing with him and if he was she could differently tell her that her mom will do everything in her right power to make sure that he makes it threw. Continuing she said "Is the healers name Abby Gunner?"

"Yes I was at Hogsmade but I ended up hiding in a tree near the shrieking shack thank god no one came very close to were I was." Looking up at the girl with a grin on her face she said in her once again happy voice "Ok, why not?" with that said she quickly started to put what few books she had out back in her bag.

After Leah told Mel about her dad, she asked what the name of the healer was. " Since It's so serious, he has two.One is named Abby Gunner and the other one is my mom. I normally wouldn't cry but, after you see the whole fight and seeing your father fall to the ground..."Leah said while looking into Mel's eyes.

" I'll tell you the whole story. It was a Hogsmeade weekend and I got a letter from my dad saying he'll be guarding the outskirts of Hogsmeade. So I hurried and got ready and went there. I walked across Hogsmeade until I saw him. Then I began running to him. We were talking a little bit until he stopped in the middle of a sentence. He said for me to run back to Hogwarts because of Death Eaters coming.. I began until I was a safe distance away and watched him fight two to one. One Death Eater Grabbed his head and knocked against a concrete wall. The other one did something that put him in terrible pain. He was screaming and screaming until he fell to the ground and stopped." Leah said while taking a break and then continued.


'' At first I thought he was dead. Then I screamed and started crying hard and loud. The the two Death Eaters saw me and started chasing me. But half way to Hogwarts, the stopped and cursed two girls in Catalina's Cubby.I came into Hogwarts and ran to the Gryffindor common room. I was safe. But others started piling in and said Hogwarts was under attack too. Then I went into the girls' dormitories and went in my bed and cried and cried and cried until I fell asleep." Leah said looking down. She started to cry. She cried for about fifteen minutes until both of them started walking out of the library.

After Mel packed everything back up she looked up at Leah as they girl said "Since It's so serious, he has two. One is named Abby Gunner and the other one is my mom. Mel looked right back, she could tell that this was really upsetting her she could see a slight hint of pain and fear mixed. She leaned forward in her chair slightly and said in a comforting tone. "Think of it this way, at least he is safe now and I now for a fact that my mom will work her little but off to make sure your dad gets better!" and at this stament she stopped and waited for Leah to continue. She stood up as Leah did and followed her silently out the library doors and waited intently for her to continue. '' At first I thought he was dead. Then I screamed and started crying hard and loud. After about a couple minutes of her crying Mel awkwardly gave her a friendly hug and said "everything will be okay" in a comforting tone.

Melissa hugged Leah like a big sister would. " Thanks, I kinda needed that." Leah said while begining to smile. "Where shall we go?" Leah turned to Mel and said. I think we should go to... hmm" Leah said while thinking. " Got it! Catalina's Cubby maybe?" Leah asked.

"So Abby Gunner is your mom ,eh? I bet she's a good healer. Luckly, my mom and your mom are trustworthy with my dad. He usually doesn't let anybody touch him." Leah said to Mellisa while turning a corner.
