Cleo pushed her fingers through her hair and let out a long breath. OWLs were nasty. There was no other word for it. Nasty, stupid, idiotic and Cleo didn’t even have a clue why exactly she made them. To test her knowledge? Hah! She would know herself what she could and couldn’t do. She could use her wand in real life – as she had proved on more than one situation – so why on earth would she have to know about when which constellation drifted closer to Venus. It seemed rather pointless as Cleo wasn’t going to become an astronomer nor an astrologer. Oh well, she would drop the subject next year anyway so the score of this OWL wouldn’t matter much. Cleo sighed and closed her eyes tiredly while leaning on the backrest of the chair. It was late already – after curfew but as madam Pince didn’t appear to be here Cleo had used the opportunity and continued studying. While she might not see much real point in OWLs, that didn’t mean Cleo wouldn’t study. There was a reason why she was in Ravenclaw after all.
“Kris,” Cleo muttered after a few moments of staying still to let her eyes rest. She didn’t even have to open her eyes to recognize Kris’s presence, even if he could move as quietly as a cat. Hearing a book snapping closed Cleo’s eyes snapped open as she glared at her future husband who did look dashing in black she had to admit to herself quietly. “The library is closed, miss Hardwick, learn to take a break,” Kris replied to Cleo softly snapping an other book closed before stepping around the table and bowing a little as he placed his hands on the armrests of the chair Cleo was sitting in, “Care to tell me why I always have to risk my skin and drag over-worked Ravenclaws away from books? Had to do it last year with Dana as well.” Cleo snorted but before she even got a chance to reply before Kris’s hands wound around her waist before Kris threw her over his shoulder and straightened up again. “Kris! This not the way you treat your finace!” Cleo snapped at him while grabbing her wand and waving it towards the books to make the float after them. “Good thing you are a friend also then, because you are taking a break now,” Kris replied while patting Cleo’s leg that was just in his hands reach absent-mindedly as he carried her out of the library with long strides before taking a route towards the dungeons.
Drumming her fingers against Kris’s back Cleo accepted the situation, knowing she wouldn’t have much choice anyway. At least she had gotten to take the books along so maybe she could still get a peek in them after they reached whatever room Kris had in mind. The dungeons were quite large as Kris had showed Cleo and Cleo wasn’t disappointed. Kris didn’t go to the Sytherin common room but rather to a small room that had a couch, a white piano in white corner as well as some book-shelves. Slytherins public stock for the house Cleo supposed, though she had never asked and Kris had never told. “The door, if you will?” Kris asked while turning around so that Cleo was facing a dark oak door. Grasping the handle Cleo pulled it open and Kris stepped in before stopping again to let Cleo pull the door closed again. Cleo waved her wand to make the books settle down on a near-by desk before she was unceremoniously dumped on the green couch here.
Scowling towards Kris though he wouldn’t see it Cleo shifted into a sitting position as she reached her hand towards one of the books and opened it again: “Some of us are having OWLs this year and I would prefer to do well on them.” “You will anyway,” came the nonchalant reply as Kris tugged the book out of Cleo’s hands and threw it on the table before laying down on the couch while placing his head on Cleo’s lap, thereby effectively blocking any idea Cleo would have for reaching for her book again. “Take a break,” Kris insisted again before settling down in a bit more comfortable position and Cleo could hear his breathing getting deeper. Which wasn’t much of a wonder as he had stayed up all last night, helping Cleo revise and when Cleo went to sleep during day, Kris had gone to Hogsmeade with Dana. Cleo leaned back against the couch feeling a small shiver run down her back. The off-shoulder with silk-blouse with a little bit of a shine on it didn’t protect her much against cold and neither did the tight black pants. Kris must have sensed it too as a moment later his wand was out and he flicked it towards a fire-place starting a roaring fire. Cleo could already feel the warmth coming form it surrounding her. Sliding her fingers into Kris’s hair Cleo twirled the long strands while starting to sing.
“Every time our eyes meet
This feeling inside me
Is almost more than I can take
Baby when you touch me
I can feel how much you love me
And it just blows me away
I've never been this close to anyone or anything
I can hear your thoughts
I can see your dreams,” Cleo sang out calmly while Kris smirked upwards for a moment murmuring: “Are you going to tuck me in too after you finish the lullaby?” This comment earned Kris a bit sharper tug on his hair before Cleo continued the smoothing motions and the song, as she could feel the muscles in Kris’s shoulders relaxing,
”I don't know how you do what you do
I'm so in love with you
It just keeps getting better
I want to spend the rest of my life
With you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Baby, I'm amazed by you
The smell of your skin
The taste of your kiss
The way you whisper in the dark
Your hair all around me
Baby you surround me
You touch every place in my heart
Oh, it feels like the first time, every time
I want to spend the whole night in your eyes,” Cleo sang out feeling a little bit amazed that she would actually be by Kris’s side for all eternity. She still sometimes had trouble believing that he had proposed, but the engagement ring on her finger left no doubt of it. Kris had claimed her. Cleo raised the hand and admired the white diamond, placed in platinum, that was surrounded by small pieces of emeralds and sapphires. The ring, Kris’s presence – it all together was good enough to pull a smile on Cleo’s face even as Kris had fallen asleep his head still in her lap. The quiet bliss didn’t last for too long however as the door was opened again and Cleo’s head snapped up to see who had dared to venture in and ruin the moment.
