It was a peculiar sight to see. Imagine this. A normal, well, almost normal girl, crawling on a stone floor on all floors. Her hands were sweeping the floor in arcs, leaving trails in the dust on the floor. " Where is it?" Cass sat on her knees trying to control the tears that were about to flow from her eyes. One of her mother's diamond earring studs had fallen out of her lobe to the floor. It was gone. " Oh god, what am I going to do now?" Standing up, she wiped her sleeve across her eyes. Cass knew she could buy another pair of earrings, but these were her mothers. In a feeble attempt at a summoning charm, she took out her wand and said, " Accio earring!" Nothing happened. Sighing, she knew it was gone.
Wiping the dust off her knees, she began to walk away. After walking several feet, she stopped and turned back around in a last ditch effort to find the bauble. Of course, more than a dozen students had walked down the hallway since Cass had begun her frantic search. They could of knocked it anywhere. Getting back on the floor, she began to make the same repetitive motions on the floor.

You would have thought first years would've found their way around the school by now. Would know where the different classrooms were to be found. Then again, some rooms did change their location with the time of year. The particular room this small girl had been looking for was one with a piano in it. Having heard her description of it Ivy was fairly sure it was one she'd used in the second half of her second year, before it had disappeared off again and she'd been unable to find it until half way through her third year. She did like to go and play the piano occasionally, even though she wasn't particularly talented. But it seemed this particular first year almost relied on the chance to get away from things, so Ivy had taken her to the room's spring and summer residence in the school. And as an added bonus now knew where it was to be found in the winter. She closed the door to the classroom behind her as she left the first year to her own devices, feeling pleased that for once the temperamental nature of the castle hadn't caused too much trouble.
She felt happy today. She'd finished all her homework since she hadn't had too much to do and she'd put her head down to get it done. She'd spent some time talking to Sadie, and she'd had the chance to help someone. She had a lot to be thankful for. Good friends, the fact she wasn't absolutely hopeless at all her work, and that she had the afternoon off working. As Ivy entered the Entrance Hall on her way to the Hufflepuff Common Room, she saw a girl kneeling on the floor, trying to find something by the looks of the way she was grovelling around. She looked just a little upset. Ivy could understand that - she hated it when she lost things, but it was worse when there were lots of people around. Ivy stopped next to her, realising she was a girl from her own year. Cassandra Blackfire, as far as she knew. They'd been in a few classes together since they were in the same year and were fourth years by now. "Are you okay?" she asked, since it was the customary way to approach people you were intending to offer your help to, before she added, "Have you lost something? Two pairs of eyes are better than one for finding things." She gave Cassandra a friendly smile; the other girl probably wouldn't know who she was and she wouldn't expect her to but she did want to get across the fact she was perfectly willing to help.
