The rain droplets made a thudding sound outside Maryn's window. They kept pouring without one hint of stopping. Maryn sat on her window sill gazing oddly at them. She had been thinking so much deeper lately. Everything now seemed to have a meaning unlike months earlier. No, then everything was meant for fun. Maryn had grown up too much for words and wasn't quite the girl that existed in August. She no longer had the need to prove herself or realize who she was. Maryn had now long accepted that she might not know what her place is in the world, but that doesn't mean her life isn't going the way it was supposed. The droplets fell harder as Maryn gave a funny smile at them. True, it seemed a bit strange, but Maryn had also become not afraid of what people thought. She was unique in several ways, but that was Maryn. Her dorm room was an iry sort of empty. Maryn tapped her fingers on her nee and every time she did, it seemed to echo off the walls. Maryn's eyes gazed up at the large droplet falling at a fast pace. They seemed so beautiful to her now. However, still being fun loving Maryn at heart, she had a certain desire to run through the rain and let each droplet caress her body and touch her soul.
After seconds of staring at the pools of water, Maryn decided to do just that. The rain drops seemed to be calling her. She just wanted to step in them even if just for a second. True, it seemed strange even for Maryn, but of course she didn't care. Maryn thought back to weeks before when she saw Rosa in London. The younger girl seemed disappointed and confused by Maryn. All of that made her think about who she really was. Who was she? Maryn now knew. She was that girl that hated to see anyone cry besides herself. That girl that saw herself as weak and wanted badly to change that. That muggle born that wanted so badly break free of the cheerful wall she held each day. Sure, Maryn's cheerfulness was a big part of her, but she hated that she often used it to disguise her feelings. This is who Maryn was and she understood. No one could change her now.
Maryn gave a quirky smile pushing herself up from the comfy seat her body at now formed a small form in. She quickly tied her long light brown hair in a low pony tail that her hair seemed used to now. Maryn threw on her favorite pair of warn in jeans. She put on a red girl tee and put her sporty navy jacket over that. Then, Maryn put on her American skater type shoes that she had now fallen in love with and tied them to her feet. She didn't even look in the mirror as she walked outside hr dorm room. Her appearance didn't matter to her too much anymore. Was that stuff really important? Maryn didn't care if the answer to that question was yes or no. She waved to a few friends leaving the common room and set out to meet the halls. Maryn walked slowly down them looking straight ahead. Her goal was towards the castle doors and nothing would stop her now. She smiled running down the large steps not looking back determined to drench herself in rain. Finally, Maryn thought reaching the door. She ran up to it and placed he wand to the huge brass bar that opened it. However, before she could pull it open, Maryn turned hearing a voice behind her.

Rosaliz slept under her covers listening to the pitter patter of rain against the window. It had made such a nice sound, as if she was listening to music. How the sound of the rain was soothing to her. It made her comfortable. Not wanting to get up she still did. Even thought it was saturday around noon timw she still hadn't gotten up from bed. She slipped out from under the covers, giving her bird some food, while she untied the daily prophet from it's leg. She was going to read it later for she wasn't in the mood to do so now. After taking a shower, Rosaliz put on a pair of jeans and a black shirt. It felt weired for her to be wearing such things since she had been accustom to wearing robes. After brushing her golden blonde hair she walked out of the dorm and into the common room. It was crowed as usually during this time of weather. Walking out of it she made her way towards the great hall. She had to have lunch first. PIcking out on her plate a bnlueberry muffin with pumpkin juce. She ate half of it since she felt so full. After finishing her breakfest/lunch. Which muggles usually call brunch, she made her way towards the student lounge. It was also croweded but just twice as much than the common room. Rosaliz frowned. She had been looking for a friend to hang out with. She felt lonely.
After walking out of the student lounge, the libary and looking threw a few abandoned classrooms. She finally gave up. She just decided to go back to the common room and into her dorm. While walking to her destination she past past the great hall and looked towards the big oak doors. Which led to the wonderful outdoors. She had seen somebody. She stopped at her steps to see who it was. It was Maryn! How she longed to see her friend. Rosaliz looked up to the third year. Her friend was the one who made her take another step in everyday life. Maryn, Flo and Fiona were her only friends. She ran down the hall. "Maryn, "Maryn.wait for me!" Rosaliz wanted to go with her friend outside. She wanted to feel the cool rain touch her skin. She wanted her worries to wash away. But most of all she wanted to spend some time with her best friend.
((sorry it's short....))

Maryn turned hearing the call behind her. Someone had stopped her from going outside, but whom? She smiled as Rosaliz came closer. If Maryn wanted anyone to go out with her, Rosaliz would defiantly be that person. Maryn loved the way the younger Gryffindor made her feel normal. Rosa had a difficult life, but still seemed to function like a normal kid. However, Maryn's life seemed normal and she handled it like a child hiding behind her emotions. This was a tiresome habit for Maryn. One that she really wanted to break soon. Her grinned widened thinking back to all the times that Rosaliz was there for her helping her through it all. She was so smart and always seemed to have an answer. That was something Maryn adored about her younger friend and hoped she never lost that trait.
Maryn pretended to stomp her foot and be mad, but this joke just made her laugh. "Hurry up, you Gryffie!" She called jokingly. Maryn laughed taking a few steps closer to her friend. She could hear each step echo off the giant wall that seemed to stretch to the stars. The sound clenched the walls and Maryn turned around a few times in amazement. She then looked down at her friend. "So, what's up with you?" She asked nicely. Maryn hadn't seen Rosaliz in a little while, but not too long ago. She loved to hang out with Rosa despite the age difference. It was only a year and didn't matter to Maryn. However, this mattered to some Slytherins, and that Maryn couldn't ignore. She hated the mere sound of their voices and couldn't stand it when they hurt one of her friends. Those would be the only moments when Maryn acted a bit mean and she just couldn't control those times. That was one thing she didn’t want to change about herself. Stubborn, maybe, but Maryn just couldn’t watch Slytherins hurt the ones she cared about most. She couldn’t let anyone do that. Sometimes, friends were the only people Maryn could trust and without them she had nothing. Maryn could never be alone and she would never let herself be in that condition.
Maryn looked at her reflection in the marble ground for a second and then back at Rosaliz. “I was just going outside.” She said calmly motioning towards the large door. Maryn shrugged a bit feeling her cheerfulness diminish before her very eyes. It just seemed to go down in bolts like it was being sucked away from the earth. “I just needed a break you know.” Maryn paused looking back at the door. It was her escape, maybe the water was a cure for her heart. Maybe she could understand herself and her life better by going out there. Childish, yes, but Maryn didn’t care. “Wanna come with me?” She looked at her friend letting a small devious grin show. Maryn stood waiting for Rosa to answer.

Rosaliz finally made her way up to Maryn. She had asked how she’d been. “Fine.” Clearing her throat. Even though it was a plain lie. She didn’t want to worry her friend besides; Maryn did look like she needed some cheering up. So Rosaliz wouldn’t dare telling her about her own problems. Her friend was much important. Rosaliz looked at her friend she didn’t look so great either. Rosaliz wanted to help her; she wanted to show her that you could always find somebody in the hardest times to talk to. She was standing right in front of Maryn’s face. Yes. Rosaliz was the person who helped relieve the people’s souls. Many people always come up to her for advice either way; her friend was the only thing that mattered the most at the time.
Maryn asked if she wanted to go outside. “Sure.” She replied. Rosaliz loved the rain, it always reminded her of her mother when they use to go outside during a summer storm. How the rain touched her skin, with it’s warm temperature and the way her mother made her fell safe and sound as if there wasn’t any tomorrow. But there was. No more yesterday but tomorrow. No more of her mother being there, no more feeling of being secured. But this did bother Rosaliz, she just forced herself to move on. Yes move on. It might be one of the hardest things in life but it had to be done, even if it was the most painful thing. Rosaliz stood there looking at her friend Maryn and said “ Rain, is the most cooling thing, I believe it washes away my pain. Nobody can feel the drops touch your skin but you. You, who can make the changes. Shall we go out now?” she asked waiting for Maryn’s reply.

Maryn nodded at Rosaliz. How did she always know what to say? Rosaliz had been through so much and yet she seemed so selfless. Rosaliz could always make Maryn feel better when Maryn couldn't do it for herself. Here Maryn was, lost about who she was supposed to be in the world and then she remembered Rosa. She had lost everything and Maryn had lost nothing. It seemed so wrong. Why did Maryn not understand anything? Why was she such a total basket case? If Maryn only knew the answers to those questions she would be set for life and eternally happy, but she didn't. Those answers were far from Maryn's grasp. It didn't matter how long she would reach, she could never bring the answers down into her head. She stared blankly at Rosaliz not knowing really what to say. Her words were grumbled again and for no reason. Maryn hated when that happened. It was like a horrible curse hitting her over and over. She couldn't talk or figure out what to say. But, Maryn could control and she would.
She knocked her hand on her head, but not very hard. She just wanted to wake up her thoughts a bit. Maryn looked at Rosaliz again. "Yes, now rather than later. I want to change. I need this." Maryn said calmly. True, it did sound strange, but Maryn thought Rosaliz could understand. If anyone could, it would be Rosaliz. Maryn turned towards the familiar door. She looked at it blankly. This was her escape from a world where Maryn felt she didn’t belong. She needed this more than anyone could understand. Maryn neared the doors and opened them calmly. She would usually just take out her wand and open them, but she didn’t feel like it. She merely pulled very hard. Maryn kept it open for a few seconds allowing Rosaliz out and then closed them. She stared at the rain falling hard unto the ground. They just feel and feel. Maryn and Rosaliz were still shielded from the rain by a small little brick covering above them which was part of the door. For a moment she just looked at the rain. Then, she turned to Rosaliz. “It’s now or never.” Maryn gave a small smile before taking a deep breath. Without one thought Maryn ran from the shielded area around the grounds. The rain touched her and she felt a part of herself she hadn’t in awhile. Maryn looked around for Rosaliz. Without thinking, Maryn just laid down looking upward letting the rain act as a blanket on her. “I needed this so bad.” She called to Rosa. “I love this!” She screamed loudly. Maryn didn’t really look at Rosaliz, but at the sky. She waited for a moment to heard Rosaliz answer.
