The Room Of Requirement ((Brook and Shadow))

"Mine's Snape due to ovboius reasons" Shadow replied eyeing the 'Gameboy' Leon had brought up. "I have one of those" She said looking at Leon and then back to her book called 'Death'

As Shadow stated the fact that yes, she too had a Gameboy, Leon tried to hide his surprise. Why would a Slytherin have a muggle toy? Then Leon remembered- Shadow had earlier told him she liked many muggle things. And odd thing, he thought, seeing as how cold she was. He decided not to go further into the subject to save Shadow any embarrassment, which is usually what Slytherins would hold after the fact they had a muggle possession came out into the open. Instead, he smiled kindly.

“Yes, that would make sense. How about you Brook?” He waited for an answer, while at the same time making the butterflies disappear and bringing into the room a tiny black panther. Its eyes were bright and gold, flashing to every movement- Shadow’s cat flicking its tail, Leon’s toes wiggling in his trainers, even the spider in the corner of the room as it swept from book to book. The glossy, lustrous black coat shined and gleamed in the light of the one window in the room. The panther jumped onto his lap with a friendly growl, licking his nose once then curled into a tight ball with one golden eye open. Stroking its smooth sleek coat Leon took another sip from his goblet.

" My favorite teacher would probably be Proffesor McGonagal, she may be a little srict but she is an awesome teacher for the class that she teaches. I don't like Gameboys. I have a Play Station 2, they are muxch more fun and entertaining to me!'' said Brook. " Besides there aren't as many games for a gameboy as there are for a PS2.

Shadow nodded. "Yep, I got a Play Station 2, Gamecube, Play Station 1, Computer and loads more" She whispered knowing that she shouldn't have muggle things. She couldn't help it though.

Shadow eyed the black panther before smiling at it. Shadow's kitten looked up at Shaodw and meowed. Shadow rolled her eyes and started stroking her kitten while reading.

Brook thought about how Shadow replied. She noticed that almost every Slytherin was kind-of nice, but only when they were by themselves (with no other Slytherins around). They still said their crazy come-backs but they weren't as mean.

Leon smiled at Shadow, then thought hard. What to talk about? The conversation was slowly fading, and Leon brought up a random subject just to fill the silence. "Are you two going home for the holidays?" He wasn't sure why he said it, it just seemed to be the easiest thing to say.

Leon himself was going home, though he didn't want to. He hadn't gone for a long time, and now that his sister was at Hogwarts felt it needed. He knew he would hate it- his baby brother Matt would annoy him to no end, and his parents would constantly be criticizing him- why he wasn't the best at all his lessons, why he was still so odd-looking, and so on. He guessed that both of the girls before him would have more normal situations, as was often. Although he had met many other students with odd or annoying families, his were around the top of the irritating list and he hated it.

"I am not going home for the holidays. My mom is mad at me and I don't want to go home, all she does is fuss about why I don't try out for quidittch team, but I have a lot of other things to worry about." said Brook replying to the question Leon had asked her. She could not stand her mother sometimes! Plus her two younger siblings that drove her insanely out of her mind.

Shadow thought for a moment before answering Leon's question. "I'm staying. I don't want to spend anymore time with those filthy muggles then I have too" She hissed putting an amazing amount of hatered into the the sentence about the muggles. Shadow did speak the truth though, and she didn't care if the truth hurt.

When Brook heard Shadow's answer she wondered who did she mean by 'those' muggles? So she asked, "Do you mean muggles as in fellow neighbors or do muggles live with you or something?" Brook knew she was starting to get nosey but she couldn't help it, she was out going and most of the time when she thought of a question she asked, usualy ending up described as retarded because of the question she asked.

(you don't have to answer my question, you can ignore me like you hadn't heard the question like any other Slytherin would!)

Shadow snorted. "Curiosity killed the cat" She said bluntly. Shadow thought about answering the question. She glanced around quickly. "The muggles I live with. Got a problem with that?" She snapped glaring at Brook.

"No, actually I don't, I am not as judgmental like most of you Slytherins are!" Brook said, a hint of meanness in her voice. She was really starting to get tired of how rude and mean most Slytherins were, and it was really starting to tick her off. All they did was criticize people for what they did, or even how they did it. She looked over at Shadow again and simply asked "Why are Slytherins rude and inconsiderate?"

Leon sat calmly in his chair, watching the conversation. He had expected an outburst from Shadow at some point, and thought Brook had handled the situation well. Smiling, he stated his facts in a calm tone.

"Shadow, if you don't want Brook to be nosey then stop dropping hints about what a muggle you are inside. Going on about how you have hundreds of muggle toys for example, is obviously going to make Brook question this fact. So shut up!" Then he turned to Brook, the small smile still set. "And Brook, the reason so many Slythies are rude and inconsiderate is because they think," He put emphasis on the last word, "They think, that they are better than everyone else." He waved a careless hand in Shadow's direction. "As you can see, they are not." He finished. Then he sat back in the chair, a butterfly on his head, and continued to read.

"I do not think I am better then everyone else. I wasn't raised that way! I know a lot of people are better then me, and I don't really care if they are! I know you and Brook are better then me, but I don't care!" Shadow snapped, glaring at the both of them. Her eyes were watering slightly but she blinked back the tears.

"And I'm not a muggle on the inside. I'm pureblood. I just have to live with them!" She whispered staring back at her book again.

Brook could tell Shadow was starting to get sad, she hadn't meant to offend shadow but like Leon said, if Shadow didn't want me asking questions then why was saying all this stuff. Brook felt really bad now, but what was the point in apologizing. All Shadow would do is get mad because first Brook had gotten mad and questioned her and then said sorry. She had seen it happen a million times, and knew it would happen to her. So instead she said "I really didn't mean to offend you, but you can't just talk about how you live with muggles leave it there and then expect anyone to ask questions!"

"I only talked about what games I had and tht I had to live with them! I didn't go into full detail. And YOU Brook were just being nosey. So next time I tell you something about my life, keep you qestions to yourself!" Shadow hissed sneering at Brook.

"I will! At least when I am talking to people like you, or I could say like self centered Slytherins, but then again that is still describing you isn't it?" said Brook feeling her nerves heat up, meaning she was just beginning to get angry. She hated being in fights but it is not like she would just sit there and look like a complete idiot! She was going to defend herself. Brook then thought of a different book other than the Shining so as she sent that one away another book appeared called "Dead End" it was by R.L. Stine, a very famous artist where she lives at.

Although the day had started calmly, Leon remembered the essay he had to write for a class. He sat for a little while, listening to the other two before him bicker hopelessly. Once Brook made her small speech, Leon set down the book he was holding, sent his butterflies over to sit with Brook, and caused his goblet to disappear with a small 'pop!'. He then smiled at the other two.

"Hey, sorry guys but i gotta go. Shadow stop saying things and expecting people not to question them- Brook just don't bother trying to reason with a Slythie. I'll see you later in the Common Room most likely. Bye!" He waved at Brook, scowled a little a Shadow and her kitten, then left the room. As the door closed behind him, he heard his comfy blue chair go with a pop just like the goblet, and smiled, amused.

Just as Leon had done Brook got up, thinking her chair and stuff was gone, she walked out of the room, leaving with a scowl on her face and her mind whirling with all the possibilities of things she could have, and should have done!
