Ariane smiled at the other 1st and 2nd year Slytherins walking with her. Sure, they were all young, but they were already a force to reckon with. They would be the future of the house of Slytherin one day after all. True, older 5th, 6th and 7th years passed them without much of a glance. But the relatively big group of Slytherins all dressed in tasteful silk-clothes earned a lot of wary glances from others their own age. Ariane herself shone in the group as well as you learned to walk the ropes within the first week in Slytherin. You were respectful for your elders, held up the Slytherin values and weakness simply wasn’t tolerated. Ariane had the correct blood-line and respected family, not to mention a rather nice mind and grace that not everyone possessed. Gliding down the stair-case next to a 2nd year Slytherin boy Ariane turned her head slightly taking pleasure from her own elegance and the soft swishing of her long green silk-shirt and crème button-up silk-shirt. Ariane dressed to look good and she was a true little angel for her parents and those worthy. If she wanted to be useful and belong into the most inner circle of the Dark Lord then she couldn’t afford sloppiness even now.
Giving a smile and a nod to the others around her Ariane left the crowd as she calmly sauntered towards the library taking the correct turns without any worry. She would be leaving Hogwarts soon to go to the Carribean with her family for a vacation. Ariane was relatively sure Father had some business to attend to there, but she knew better than to ask more precisely. Should Father wish to share the knowledge, he would do so. Meanwhile Ariane had to get along with the pieces of information that actually were given to her. Father has also promised to start teaching Ariane as to how protect herself and how to properly use her wands. She had learned a lot of theory about the Dark Arts, yet only now would she start her real education. But she could still revise a bit for the first class Father was bound to give her the coming break.
Entering the library Ariane glided calmly forward without any hesitation in her stride as she walked towards the high shelves in the DADA section of the Hogwarts library. Giving a greeting nod of respect to a 6th year Slytherin Ariane didn’t bother to spare a glance at anyone else. No one else mattered in the library anyway. Stopping in front of the books Ariane saw a couple of books on different curses and hexes and offered a cold curl of her lips at the books. ‘1001 simple hexes for all occasions’ seemed rather intriguing as Ariane let her index finger calmly glide down the spine of the book as she looked on to see if anything else would catch her attention for now.

Mikayla rose gracefully out of bed. She had gotten the perfect amount of sleep. It was Saturday and Mikayla wasn't quite sure what she was going to do today. Mikayla skipped to the bathroom. She washed her face. Smiled in the mirror and brushed her teeth. She looked great today. And she wasn't even out of her pajamas yet. She closed the door. When she got done in the shower she dried off and went back into her room to get dressed. She decided to wear her normal weekend clothes since it was Saturday. She picked a silky brown tank- top, a white over sweater, her jeans, her cutest brown slip on flats, and her Ravenclaw robe. She was pleased to see it wasn't as snowy as it had been the day before. Mikayla got together her blue bag with her Ravenclaw crest on it, and put in it a quill, parchment, and her books. Just in case she wanted to do some extra studying.
Mikayla made her bed, closed her dresser droors, and picked up the floor of her room. She didn't want to leave it a mess. She left her hair down today because it was cute, and had a little curl to it. Mikayla grabbed her bag and headed out the door. She still didn't quite know what to do next, but she just headed down past her common room and into the halls of Hogwarts. Mikayla looked around hoping ti she a friend or someone she new to hang out with. Without success she decided to think about her options. She finally decided to go walking until she found some inspiration.
So she began walking through the halls. It seemed like she saw nothing but Slytherins roaming around. "Whats this about.." Mikayla thought to herself. "There must be a fought going on or something. Mikayla showed no respect to Slytherins after she heard one of them talking about muggle borns and some other stuff she dreaded to think about. Mikayla looked toward a door it was the library. Mikayla hadn't been in there but a couple times so she decided to go in and look around. Anything to escape being shoved by Slythies. She opened the door quietly so she would not disturb anyone. She didn't see many people. She backed up as an older Slytherin exited the library. She only saw a Ravenclaw and another Slythie. "Eww.." She thought. She couldn't escape them today. She saw the girl. She was picking up a book from the DADA section.
Mikayla looked away and began walking to a section with potions as the title. She walked down the long isle of books. She came upon on that read "Simple Potions for the Young.." "Yeah right.." Mikayla thought. "Even the library picks on first years." Mikayla kind of made a quiet giggle at that. She kept looking down the isle and she spotted a book of interest titled "Potions.." It was plain and simple kind of on the heavy side. She picked up and flipped through. It had a potion for everything. Mikayla picked it up and went to sit at a nearby table. She sat her bag down and the sat with the book it her hands. She sat the book on the table and continued to flip through. She grabbed her quill and a couple sheets of parchment. She wasn't going to use bad potions or anything. She was just going to write down some of interest to bring up in class.
Mikayla looked around the Slytherin was still a safe distance away and the Ravenclaw had left. She looked back down at her book and began looking as she was looking she spotted one that read "Wit-Sharpening Potion"Ingredients: Scarab beetles, Ginger roots, Armadillo bile. Enables the person to think better for a period of time. Mikayla laughed and wrote it down she thought it was funny for some reason. "Man, how could someone need wit.." Mikayla thought to herself. "This person who needed this potion must have been born without it. She wrote the potion down to show her friend Danielle, this was priceless.

Ariane left her hand calmly over the title of the book that had caught her attention as she let her eyes travel do the rest of the books on the nearby shelves. There were a couple of interesting titles but Ariane was honest with herself. There were a lot of things way beyond her abilities just yet. But Father would most likely be the best source from where to study. True, she wouldn’t be able to use magic outside of Hogwarts just yet. But she could learn the hand-movements and incantations. And she would learn to think and act calmly under pressure. Even though she already good. But practice never hurt. You never got perfect, as there wasn’t such a thing as perfection. But with practice you could become one of the best. Finally deciding to be satisfied with the one book right now. Pulling the rather heavy tome out from it’s place on the shelf Ariane balanced it nicely on her arm, making sure to shift the thin line of her gold-bracelet so it wouldn’t push into her tender wrist and create nasty lines that would mar the well-cared for skin there.
Moving calmly over the floor to a vacant seat by the window Ariane passed some girl she knew form class. You had to know your friends and you had to know your enemies. While this girl was clearly not good enough to be ever considered important she could still be considered a nuisance if you didn’t keep some eye on her. Really, so many people didn’t know when to bow to their betters. Not bothering with the silly girl Ariane passed her desk wordlessly glancing coldly down only once when her hand slightly hit something. Only to see a hideous blue bag that had slid to one of it’s sides by now. Sneering at the bag and wrinkling her nose at distaste – Ariane herself would never wear something so frivolous Ariane passed the desk without a word.
Sashaying to the table she had chose for herself Ariane smoothed her skirt careful, even though her hand-movement might have seemed rather careless, but a lot of beauty came from illusions. Making sure to be seated comfortably Ariane chose a potion where the little bit of sun shining in form the windows brought out her best features – her big eyes and long golden-hair. Holding her back straight – Mother would be VERY unpleased should Ariane slouch and Ariane didn’t want her parents upset at any way. It was not wise at all to cross Ariane’s parents, so she kept her back straight, head held high as she opened the book and started to read.

As Mikayla continued her reading she skimmed through the first section not finding anything to interesting. Mikayla turned to a section that was based on "Transfiguration.." She read about how to turn someone into a snake or into a rat. It was quite fascinating. She wrote down the potion to turn you into a pig. She laughed at that. If a Slytherin got onto you you create this potion like an evil genius and turn them into a pig. "ha ha ha.." Mikayla quickly put her hand over her mouth.. "I hope that wasn't as loud as it sounded to me." Mikayla said to herself hesitantly. Mikayla didn't want to disturb the young girl Slythie in her studies. She looked up to see where the girl was. She was walking toward a table away from her "Thank you!" She thought to herself putting her hands up in the air. She new the girl couldn't see her because her back turned and the girl was looking toward her seat. "Just like a Slythie." Mikayla thought. "Always looking forward." Mikayla thought. Its not necessarily a bad thing, but the way Slythies did it was.
Mikayla looked back up from her book sneakily to see what the girl looked like. She was beautiful. She had blonde hair it was done very cute. Probably not done to look that way, but thats how Mikayla saw it. "Ouch.." Mikayla said to herself not really serious, the girl had just looked down so coldly it made her shiver. "Wow, whoever taught her the ugly Slythie look did good." Mikayla thought laughing. She saw the girl wrinkle her nose at her bag and keep walking. Mikayla laughed, the girl did not need to sneer, it wasn't really flattering lets just say that. Mikayla didn't care. One of her muggle friends had given it to her dad's assistant Cynthia to mail to Mikayla. Her friend thinks that she is in boarding school right now. Mikayla moved her bag around to the front of her. She examined it. It was sweet she thought. Her friend that made it for her was dis-abled anyways. She had a medical condition making it to where she wasn't as fast at learning things. Or as fast in speech. Mikayla never noticed that though. Mikayla only noticed her as her caring friend. The one she stayed with while she had no one. Mikayla wiped her eyes as they started to water.
Mikayla smiled looked back at her book and began once again examining the pages carefully. Mikayla looked back quickly at the girl. Mikayla wanted to see what the green was she had seen from the corner of her eyes a second ago. Mikayla glanced back quickly. Turns out the green came from the hideous green silk skirt she had been wearing. Mikayla turned away before the girl could see her. "IIIICK!" Mikayla said to herself making a face like she had eaten something sour. Mikayla had never seen a skirt like that before. It was so Slythie. Mikayla couldn't take that much Slushiness from a skirt. "Gross!" Mikayla shivered and began looking back down in her book. She had seen enough.

Ariane glanced with annoyance at the Ravenclaw girl who made a real spectacle of herself. Shivering, making grimaces, talking to herself… what was coming next? She would jump on the table and tap-dance in a pathetic attempt to get some attention? In all honestly, some people really had mental disturbances. And they expected proper purebloods to go the same school as them? Despicable. Not that attention was always bad. Ariane was taught how to dress, walk, smile, talk, walk – everything to make sure she was always at her best behaviour and looked the very best. Though neither of Ariane’s parents never rose a hand against them, Ariane knew better than to ever let the standards slip either. There were a lot worse things that physical pain in this world. Ariane had attention often amongst her friends, because she simply stood out. With her in-born aristocracy, the way she uphold herself. Never had she tried to amuse others.
“Trying to be a court-jester? I think you’d fail miserably, cause no one would want to watch a twit? I understand how hard controlling yourself might be for your non-existent brain-capacity, but do try to control yourself or go take a walk off one of the towers. Some of us are actually trying to study here,” Ariane told the girl with annoyance before returning her books to her eyes, feeling no hesitation that her command would be fulfilled. Turning the page Ariane looked coldly at the jinx to make one sprout hair all over her body. Curious really. Great for embarrassing people. Reading the incantation and the brief introduction of the hex Ariane calmly turned the page once again. This one was much too innocent by it’s nature to intrest her. Father would never bother himself with something so childish, so Ariane would have no use in learning this particular jinx.
A strand of hair was lazily wrapped around a strand of hair as Ariane found something much more interesting. How to glue one’s tongue at his or her teeth have they told more than they should. Now this might be interesting. It would be no doubtedly extremely painful if the victim of the hex panicked and tried to forcefully pull her tongue loose. And made sure your ears weren’t filled with pointless chattering. Now this might actually be worth of a little bit of her attention.

Mikayla looked through the pages of her book carefully. She wanted to find as many interesting things as she could. Then she heard something. Mikayla turned to see the freaky Slythie talking to her. She heard her mumble on about Mikayla being a fool or something. "Are you..ok?" Mikayla asked sweetly. She was wondering if the girl was having some kind of a spasm or something. Mikayla just turned back to her book and began to write notes on a potion that would make your ears and nose grow long and big like Pinocchio's or something. Mikayla laughed picturing one of her friends looking like that like Mikayla laughed to herself. "I wonder what that girl is still mumbling on about?"
Mikayla asked herself. "Man, I wander what Danielle would be doing if she was here?" "Mikayla focused back on her book. She finally began to tire of the "Potions" book so she hoped up to find another one. She went back in the potions isle and looked through all the books till she found another that just seemed to stand out from the rest, it was a maroon red book, it was centuries old like all the other books but it had a unique cover Mikayla couldn't help but take it out to look at. It didn't have title which Mikayla found odd. She walked back to her table and opened it carefully as to not break the fragile cover.
Mikayla read. This book was amazing it had actual pictures like moving like the people were on a little television show showing you how to make the potions. She found the same one about transfiguration potions. How to turn someone into a pig or rat. Mikayla watched contently to the pictures. She was amazed she hadn't ever seen a book quite like this. All Mikayla's focus was on the unique book in front of her. She tuned out everything else. As she watched Mikayla wrote some notes. She probably wasn't ever gong to be able to make these potions but they were cool none the less.

“Out of all the imbeciles in this school, the one who is half-deaf is the one who still hasn’t accepted the limits of her brain-capacity,” Ariane sneered as the girl seemed to have a hearing-problem. Really now, there was what… 5 meters of space between the tables? And Ariane had spoken clearly with an accurate pronunciation. Mumbling to yourself only made you seem worthless. So if the girl hadn’t been able to understand her words, then it was the problem of her own ears. Sneering coldly Ariane almost pitied the girl. Well, it was understandable, that not anyone could have talent. But this one – she seemed to lack ears, brains and taste all together. Hogwarts really did let just anyone enter nowadays.
Unwrapping the strand of hair from around her finger, Ariane flicked it back with a careless move of her wrist where it fell into it’s place among her other curls easily. Averting her eyes back at her book Ariane shifted her head lightly while placing one of her legs over her knee and turned the page carefully to not damage the book in any ways with careless behaviour and continued reading.

Mikayla looked back as she heard the girls comment about the whole imbecile thing. She laughed. "Its not that I couldn't hear you, I just didn't want to." Mikayla said, not explaining herself, and not apologizing or anything along the lines of that. She was just stating the facts as they appeared to her. Mikayla felt a smile coming across her face. Mikayla thought it was quite funny that the girl has to pick at people and talk as a grown person to make herself appear more intelligent. When in fact she came out the exact opposite to Mikayla. The girl was a coward. Afraid of not being the most intelligent. Mikayla was reading this girl like a book. Mikayla examined the girl yet again, but in different eyes this time.
And what Mikayla saw was sad. She saw a Slytherin, cold, and afraid of facing the world with open eyes. Fearing what she might love. "Like all the rest." Mikayla thought to herself. She looked back at her book. She was watching the making of a potion that ironically gives you another set of eyes allowing you to see through things. Mikayla picked up her quill and wrote down the potion in front of her not thinking about the poor, coward sitting behind her.

The girl replied and Ariane felt an amused smirk float over her face. The ickle little Raven didn’t want to listen to her? And her voice sounded so indifferent as if she was rather trying to act and convince herself of the little matter than something else. Really, so many people didn’t understand how puny they sounded while they tried to be brave or smart. If you didn’t have something to say you should keep your mouth closed so as to not really prove to people you actually weren’t able to raise to the level of the conversation. Letting out a ring of laughter as the girl tried to hide her face by turning her Ariane simply felt amused.
Hearing a tapping on the windowpane Ariane turned in her seat and smiled while raising and walking to the window to let her eagle-owl in. The owl hooted and closed it’s big eyes as Ariane stroke the handsome birds head for a moment, not caring about the chilly wind coming in from the window. “There’s food and water in the owlery. I don’t need you again until tomorrow morning,” Ariane told the owl while taking the package and the note from his leg, while the owl hooted again before taking off. Closing the window once again Ariane returned to her desk opening the wrapping paper and raising up the thin gold necklace with an amethyst hanging from between golden claws and matching hair-clips. Looking at the jewels curiously Ariane unfolded the letter form her Mother to find out what were the jewels for. Her eyes scanning the contents of the latter quickly, Ariane eyed the jewels thoughtfully. She was supposed to wear them during New Years party which she would be attending in Italy with her parents for the first time. These were new however, so she would most likely have to go and get herself a new dress as well.
((Sorry, about the reply, but you didn’t give me much onto which I could actually base my post, so I had to figure something out.))
