Padme scowled darkly at the bright sun above her. The darkness had become useful in the dungeons, but outside she felt like she was under a microscope, being watched by everyone. She sighed and brought her hood over her head, making the sun became just a shadow ahead of her. This was the way it always felt to her; the world was in discreet shadows and she was hiding from it. She wasn't ashamed anymore about who she was. Padme Rendel would always be Padme Rendel, no matter if she was stolen at birth and is rightfully a Dumas. No one knew except for Mack, who probably didn't even understand. Foolish girl, Padme thought coldly as she glared out the window. The sun poured in ruthlessly, but Padme didn't heed it anymore. Shadows was everywhere, including her eyes.
She missed Danny. He had always been her sun on rainy days. Now that he was gone, who would protect her from the shadows that always tried to trap her? She had left her guitar at James' place, only because she knew that no practice would be available at Hogwarts. And if it was, her dorm mates probably would not appreciate hearing her singing voice. The library was always quiet, which was what Padme hated above all things. Silence. Trying to make up for the thick air around her, she began to hum a little under her breath. The song was called 'Breakaway' and she had wrote it herself. She sighed and began to twirl her hair around her finger, watching the group closest as they chattered under her breath. Lately, she had been wishing direly for friends. She had left most of them behind in the muggle world and if the Slytherins knew about that...Padme was doomed to be an outcast. She wasn't about to tell, however. She didn't need to, so why would she do such a thing to herself?
The sky suddenly darkened outside. The sun slipped behind a cloud and everything was cast into darkness, including Padme. She flinched and looked around at the library, which was now totally silent. They were probably curious about the weather change, Padme picked up, but it didn't help that they were all staring out her window. A lightening bolt streaked across the sky, turning the scenery to marble before placing it back into darkness. Thunder rolled in after it and then the rain began to come, pounding against the castle. Padme stood up suddenly and without looking at anyone around her, left the library. The halls were so empty she felt lost. Lately, that was the only emotion going through her heart, stabbing at her lungs and decreasing her mind strength. She was trying to get back into the game she had set up, but nothing seemed to work. Before, she'd been a good person, a true Slytherin, but now she was just as lost as Mack must have been before. She grimaced but knew it was true.
Jack had told her a little about Mack's past, which related to Padme's very closely. She was surprised and gratified to hear it, for not only did her brother trust her not to go sharing it with everyone, but he let her now about his best friend, and or girlfriend. Padme smirked at remembrance of the first meeting with Mack, where she had thought them as a couple. They still were too, in her way of thinking. She smiled sullenly, as these thoughts brought back Dan, but she resolutely pushed them back, determined to forget him for the rest of the year. Instead, she embraced the fact that Christmas was coming soon! She was going to be buying presents soon. Especially for her lost sister, who was in a mental institution. Padme had tried to forget Dixie, but she had wanted so bad to be close to the girl this year. But Dixie hadn't even been there to congrats her on making it to Slytherin. Only Mack and Jack had been, unless she hadn't seen Dix. Sighing again, except loudly this time, she went through the halls with the steady click of her high heels, not really looking where she was going. Suddenly, she ran into something very solid. She bounced backward with frustration and literally bared her teeth at the stranger. "Why don't you watch where you're going," she snarled with an aggression that had to be felt in the air. "You just ran into the wrong person."
