((This class is going to be for all years and houses. Remember to look at this link below for more information. Ancient Runes)) Sandra walked into her classroom with a grey mug of coffee in her hands. Her long brown hair laid in natural curls to her shoulders. A Daily Prophet was tucked under her as she sat it down in a cushioned chair. Taking the paper from under her arm Sandra set it down on the oak table while taking a sip of the warm coffee. A smile spread across her face as a warm sensation filled her. Even know it was fall it felt like winter was fast approaching. The students would be all excited about the Halloween ball coming up. Sandra was going to be chaperoning the event but couldn't wait to see all her students in different costumes. Ancient Runes was located on the second flour across from Charms and next to Arithmancy and was smaller compared to the other classrooms. The corridor leading down it was quite busy but the walls were charmed so no noise could cause distraction to the class. The entire classroom was carpeted with a soft white carpet. The center of the room had eighteen oak tables with two cushioned stool chairs at each table. The wall opposite of the door was lined with cabinets that were all locked with runes. The back wall was occupied with two large windows that were usually cranked open to let some breeze come through the stuffy classroom. But this morning they were closed. Taking the last of coffee Sandra set the mug back down on the table. Digging into the pocket of her robes and took out a gold key which was used to open the rune cabinets. Walking over toward the large blue cabinet she opened it up and took out her wand. With a swish of her hand each black bag flew out and landed two by two on each table. Once the bags were disturbed Sandra swished her hand again and small jack-o-lantern pumpkins appeared the desks. Each of the tables had two rather small pumpkins each with different designs. Some had cats craved and others just a simple scary smile jack-o-lantern. Once everything was set Sandra walked back to her oak desk and sat back down in her cushioned chair. She hoped that today's class was going to be rather interesting for the students. Sandra always liked to do something special when a holiday came up especially with Halloween coming up in two days. She could see her seven year old daughter right then wearing a witch costume and trying to be like mommy. Sandra's heart melted at the thought of Allie looking like that. Some students started to enter the classroom. Smiling at them Sandra waited for everyone to show up before starting class.

Danielle woke up early, five o'clock actually. For at least an hour she laid in bed trying to sleep, but she finally gave up and slowly got out of bed. Getting dressed Danielle tried to remember where her glasses were. Looking around she found them sitting on her trunk. Picking up her knapsack she headed downstairs toward the common room.
Sitting before the fire Danielle hurriedly finished her homework. Then at about seven thirty went down to the Great Hall to eat, buttered toast, oatmeal and some orange juice. Then headed off to Ancient Runes it was just across the hall from Charms so she found it easily.
Walking in Danielle saw that she was the only one there. "Hello Professor!" She said cheerfully, she noticed the decorations the pumpkins were so cute. She started toward a table in the front, sat down and started to read.

Ashley sat down at the Hufflepuff table with a big plate of pancakes drenched with syrup in front of her. An glass of orange juice was in front of the plate half filled. Her hands were clapped together in her lap as she stared at the food before her, a yawn escaping her mouth. It was way to early to be waking up. Already weeks into the new term and Ashley couldn't still get over of waking up so early in the morning. Another yawn escaped her mouth as Ashley took a swig of orange juice. Her long blond hair laid in curls past her shoulders over her uniform. Ashley wished she were pants instead of the knee high grey skirt that was assembled with the uniform. But she wake up a little late and grabbed what ever she laid out that night before. Something she was used to doing as a little girl.
Stabbing at the last piece of pancake left Ashley swirled it around in some syrup before stuffing it in her mouth. Setting the fork back down on the plate and stared around her. Students were beginning to get up and leave for their first class. Today Ashley had Ancient Runes first than it was off to Herbolgy. Both of her favorite classes and was pretty good in them. Sighing Ashley took the last couple last sips of orange juice than stood up from the table. Some Hufflepuff's around her began to stand up as well and walked off to class. Following behind them Ashley made a right out of the Great Hall toward Ancient Runes.
Arriving at the classroom Ashley looked up at the oak desk and stared at Professor Tyler who was greeting the students. "Good morning Professor Tyler!" she said rather brightly before taking a seat in one of the middle desk. Ashley's blue eyes settled on the small pumpkins in front of her. A cat was craved into it which Ashley suspected was suppose to be a black cat. But black cats weren't what muggles thought, bad luck. Ashley looked around the room and barely saw that anyone arrived. There was another girl that looked like a first year in the classroom but that was only it. Taking out a piece of parchment with a quill and ink and began to doodle on the side waiting for class to start.

„No it’s more of a swish than a flick,“ Dana told the third year as she patiently correct the wand-movement and let the girl practice it a few more times. Finally Dana was happy with the pronounication as well as the wand-movement and she observed keenly how the girl casted the relatively difficult charm for a 3rd year. Nodding her approval Dana offered a bright smile at the girl: „Yup, this works.Just concentrate and you’ll have it. Rather good idea for the costume anyway.“The girl smiled and thanked Dana who already stood from the chair in the student lounge. She had gotten a quick breakfast before meeting the 3rd year in the empty student lounge and teaching her the charm. Dana had tutored the third year Ravenclaw previously as well, so it hadn’t really been very surprising that the girl had came to ask her for help.
Waving good bye Dana stepped out of the room glancing at her watch. She would make it to Ancient Runes easily with more than enough time to spare Shifting the small black backpack on her shoulder Dana lazily sauntered through the hallways. It was one thing to make her prefect rounds in the evening when the hallways were empty becasue of the curfew. This – walking in the empty hallways while most everyone else were eating – felt different. Not different in a bad way, but still... it was different. Dana entered the Ancient Runes classroom after a brief knock on the door, even though she didn’t really bother to wait until she was called in. The knock was more of a polite gesture.
Her eyes calmly slipping over the classroom Dana was a bit surprised to note that there were already people here. A first year – probably worried about classes anyway and trying to be at her best behaviour. And a 4th year Hufflepuff. „Good morning,“ Dana greeted everyone her calm voice sounding clearly over the classroom and she made her way towards the front of the classroom. She always liked to sit in the front. Not only did it make seeing and hearing the professor easier, it had almost became a habit really. Placing her things on the 2nd bench from the front Dana shifted around on the chair to find a comfortable position before pulling out her Ancient Runes book, some parchment and a quill. And a story-book that Dana flipped open to where she had stopped the previous night and started to read.

Ryan tried to eat quickly while reading a letter from his parents at the same time. Not that it worked very well, but Ryan tried. After he almost spilled his pumpkin juice on his lap, Ryan finally decided to give up. Turning his full attention to the letter Ryan smiled as he read it. There had been a big match last evening and his father was writing his comments with a few side-adds by his mother. Ryan was glad that both of his parents liked quidditch. His father even played professional so Ryan had the best broom – a Firebolt – and best broom-care kit available. He didn’t see his parents very often as due to his fathers professions they travelled a lot, but Ryan still loved his parents very dearly.
Smiling and folding the letter after laughing out loud a the picture form the game his parents sent him Ryan carefully folded the letter and slipped it into his bag. Returning to his breakfast, Ryan didn’t really enter the conversations going on around him rather finishing the meal relatively quickly. Finishing off the last muffin Ryan instead looked into his book to make sure all the things he would be needing were properly there. Seeing that everything was alright Ryan stood and swinging his things over his shoulder left the Great Hall picking the straightest route to Ancient Runes classroom. „Hello,“ Ryan greeted warmly while entering the calssroom and flashed a smile towards Ashley while giving her a quick wave. They were going to the Halloween ball together later on, but Ryan didn’t want to seem too obsessive so he chose a seat in the back grinning at the carved pumpkins on the tables.

Katrina shook her hair while looking in the mirror, she flicked and twirled it until she could finally find a place to put her new clip. She slipped it in her beautiful brunette hair. She had already done her make-up and she did not wear much so she got up finally. She looked down at her black pajamas and smiled. She had forgotten to get dressed.
After ten minutes she left her dormitory and went down stairs to the common room where many people were rushing to do there homework and telling everyone how great it will be to go to the Halloween ball. She had not thought about it but still she left the room and went to her next lesson.
She had no idea why she did not go to breakfast that day but she did not.
She walked into the Ancient Runes class room where only a few people were sitting. She could only recognize a few and then she sat down in a corner, furthest from the door and shifted her bag under the table. She got out her text books, quill and parchment. She then rested her head down and waited for either someone she knew to come or for the lesson to start.

Madison took the last bite from her oatmeal, and abruptly stood from the table, picking up her bag, and strolled over to her first class of the day, Ancient Runes. Maddie quite enjoyed the subject. It was fairly interested, and something that wouldn't put the girl to sleep from boredom. She rounded the corner, and glided through the classroom door, her head held high, while her nose turned a bit upward, and a sly smirk adorning her face. A typical Slytherin look.
Maddie moved to the back off the room, and found an empty desk, away from most of the students already in the classroom. She set her bag down on the floor beside herself, and prepared her things for the lesson. Maddie had gotten there rather either, so she figured that it would be quite some time, until the class actually started. She sighed deeply, resting her elbows on the table, and her head in her hands, after pushing two small pumpkins sitting on her desk to the side, as she watched more and more students start to file into the room, while strumming her fingernails idly on the wooden table.

Emma had woken early that morning, and had left for class late. An odd habit of hers- she spent ages with her owl Armani. That morning she had taken time with her hair, smotthing it into a stylish curled bun on top of her head, then setting in some purple chopsticks. Checking her timetable, she had rushed out to the lake, meeting her owl there.
An hour later she headed towards the second floor classroom, and the moment she stepped through the door she wanted to take off her shoes, and sink her toes into the lovely soft white carpet. The rrom was extremely small- but seemed cosy, and Emma liked it straight away. Looking inside, she saw a few people she knew, none well enough to sit with. She nodded at Katrina and Danielle with a friendly smile, then took a seat in the middle of the room, and got out her ink and books. Then she waited for the class to begin.

Fiona picked up her bag from the ground. Her cat warmly ran around her legs. Fiona smiled at her cat and petted her. She took a quick glance in the mirror and fixed her Hogwart's robes. Looking around the room trying to make sure she didn't forget anything she walked to the door of the dorm room. She went through the list of things she needed in her head and then turned and quickly left the room. She made her way through the dungeons slowly. She had plenty of time before Ancient Runes started and she didn't really want to be too early, that's when most of the Ravenclaws showed up. She didn't want to deal with any half-breeds or mudbloods that morning.
Fiona stepped out of the dungeons and continued up the stairs past the Great Hall. She walked by a younger student and noticing their Gryffindor uniform 'accidentally' tripped them. She laughed to herself as the young boy fell to the ground. "Watch where you're going!" Fiona exclaimed at the kid. He looked startled and quickly apologized. Fiona laughed loudly as she continued past the little brat. She was definitely in a good mood that morning. She hoped it would last through Ancient Runes. It was a good class and she enjoyed it, she just didn't want to deal with anyone. She smiled as she started up the stairs to the Ancient Runes classroom.
Fiona walked through the halls with her head held high. She looked down at the others as they passed her. She was better than any of them and she wanted to be sure that they knew that. Fiona stepped to the door of the classroom and entered. She noticed a few other students inside and recognized her friend Maddie in the back of the classroom. Fiona sat down in a desk next to Maddie and smiled. "Hi, Maddie," Fiona said as she dug through her bag for her supplies for the class. She pulled them out and stacked them on her desk as she looked around the classroom waiting for class to begin.

Jack woke up early that morning, feeling almost as refreshed as he had last night after a quick shower. The Halloween Ball was quickly approaching and he still had only a slight idea of what he would go as. Mack would be coming as well - with him - which made Jack even more nervous. Sure, he had danced with Mack before but going to a Ball together with people they knew all around.... It would let everyone know that they weren't just friends anymore. Jack got up, more energized then ever before, and began making his hair as straight as possible. It had always been naturally curly and unruly. Jack hated it for that reason alone.
The morning itself was clear and brisk, although winter seemed to be on the horizon. Jack felt nearly as excited as the rising sun. He looked at himself in the mirror, trying to think over what the day would hold. He had done all the homework needed and the classes today should be enjoyable. Ancient Runes was one of the first. Jack smiled softly at his reflection. His image was one of the only things he ever smiled at. He took one last look at his appearance before exiting the Common Room. The dungeons had always bothered. The steady dripping noise that had no source had always been frustrating and upsetting to him, for reasons of his own. Jack shrugged and pulled his shoulder bag higher on his shoulder.
Ancient Runes was on the second floor. Jack enjoyed this class somewhat and Professor Tyler wasn't overly disgusting in his opinion. The oaf Hagrid however.... Jack scowled darkly, chomping down on the piece of toast he had grabbed from the hall. What a wonderful breakfast, Jack thought bitterly as he swallowed the rest of it. Of course, his breakfast always included either eggs or a piece of toast, which explained his thin build. Jack sauntered off to the classroom across from Charms - which was also a well taught class - and entered the room. A quick look around showed that only two Slytherins were in the classroom out of eight people. Jack frowned but put on a normal smirk as he walked toward the seat beside Maddie and next to Fiona. "Hey Maddie. Fiona," He greeted, his glance at Fiona longer then the one at Maddie. He remembered their talk vividly about her parents and all that had happened to her over the summer. He pulled out supplies for class and placed them on the desk, making sure their was equal room for both him and Maddie at the desk they were now sharing.

Mitch woke and went through his usual routine then he went to the great hall and had some breakfast then went back to get his bag as usual . As soon as Mitch had his bag and books ready he left for Ancient Runes at a run thinking he was going to be late. Mitch got to class out of breath and he stopped at the door to recuperate, then when he walked into class and saw only 9 other people . Mitch walked straight to the back and took a seat in the center of the row , took out his text books, quill and parchment before leaning back and waiting for the rest of the class.

The sun was almost too bright to look at that morning, as Leon took his morning walk. The lake was just as bright, as the blinding sun reflected off of it. Shielding his eyes with his arm, Leon turned back towards the castle, the yellow orb in the sky beating rays down on his back.
Back in the castle Leon skipped breakfast as usual, then went up to his dorm. He siezed his biege bag, packed it with blue ink, parchment pieces and some books, then left for his first class that day- Ancient Runes. Although he had checked his timetable, it still took Leon ages to find the room. Finally, he saw at the bottom of his information chart- Ancient Runes, next to Arithmancy, Across from Charms, Second floor.
Once Leon entered the door, his bag feeling heavier than ever on his aching shoulders, he sat down in the middle of the room just in front of Katrina who he smiled at with a friendly wave. Then he got out his things and sat back in his comfy cushioned chair, still annoyed he hadn't found the classroom sooner.

Hayden skipped down the halls, while taking rather big bites from a juicy red apple, that she held in her left hand, and her bag hanging in her right, as she skipped merrily along on her way. Hayden had grabbed the apple off the breakfast table in the Great Hall, since she had woken up much later than was needed, in order to get to class on time.
Hayden continued to skip down the halls, heading to the Ancient Runes Classroom. Hayden enjoyed the subject quite a bit. She liked it because Hayden just loved learning all of this interesting stuff, and about how powerful and magical, old fossils and stones could be! Hayden rounded a corner, as she took the last bite of her apple, and then discarded the apple core in a near bye trashbin.
Hayden finally reached the classroom door, and the small girl peered inside of the classroom. There was a few Ravenclaws, Slytherins, Gryffindors, and only one Hufflepuff, but Hayden didn't know any one of them. The girl shrugged as she searched for an empty seat. Hayden's eyes fell upon a fifth year Hufflepuff, and the only Hufflepuff in the room, that looked friendly enough. Hayden had seen the girl before a few times, and was pretty sure that her name was something like... Ashley. Hayden had a small debate inside her head, if she should go introduce herself, and in the end... she decided to go ahead and do so.
Hayden skipped to a seat beside the Hufflepuff. Hayden plopped herself down on the seat beside the girl, and sat her bag on the floor beside herself. Hayden looked down to see two small pumpkins on her desk, and smiled brightly at the sight of them. Then it suddenly hit Hayden, that the girl must be wanting an explanation, as to why, just out of the blue... Hayden decided to sit by her. Hayden turned to Ashley, a bright smile plastered across her face. "Hi there! My name's Hayden Hinson, and I'm a Hufflepuff first year... see?" she said hyperly, showing Ashley the Hufflepuff badge on her robes. "Umm... your name's something like... Ashley, right? Anyway, you were the only Hufflepuff that I saw in here, and I really didn't know anybody else... So, umm... I hope you don't mind me sitting beside you." she said, with a quick shrug and another bright smile.Hayden waited for Ashley's response, and then readied her suplies for the lesson ahead.

Lavender turned over in bed and looked at the clock. "Oh Merlin!" she shouted as she looked at the time. She had ten minutes to make it to class on time and she wasn't even dressed yet. She jumped out of bed and hurried to her wardrobe. She grabbed her school robes and pulled them on quickly. Taking a quick look in the mirror she straightened the wrinkled clothes. She pulled out her wand and said a spell, her clothes immediately straightened so that no wrinkle was left. She looked back at the clock and ran to get her bag. She had a little over five minutes to make it on time. She bolted out of her dorm room and headed down the stairs to the common room. It was completely empty and she scolded herself for sleeping in again. She had been doing that lately and it had made her life hectic when she did. She bolted down several flights of stairs to the second floor.
Lavender ran smack into a 5th year Slytherin. He started yelling insults at her as she grabbed her bag from the floor and continued on her way. "Slow Down!" a woman in a painting yelled at her. "Can't...going...to...be late," Lavender managed a s she continued running. She turned another corner and saw her destination. Running quickly she appeared in the classroom and looked around. About half the class was there. She quickly took a seat near a Gryffindor she recognized. She was quite younger, but she at least knew the girl would be somewhat decent to her. She smiled at the 3rd year and turned her attention to Professor Tyler as class began.

Post by dawn on Nov 1, 2005 21:41:38 GMT
Dawn was sitting in the Great Hall finishing a Charms essay when she heard a rush of students start to walk through the halls. Looking up she noticed the time on the clock. Dawn had Anient Runes class. She never really was fond of the subject, but she took as many classes as she could at school. If they were electives why not take them, eh? The more knowledge the better. You always want to know all you can know. Dawn of course seemed to be the only one in her family who cared much about work. Her older sister wasn't that bright. Aden was very smart, but he just never tried. But Dawn's Father adored knowing everything. He read a lot, and studied constantly even out of school and to this day he still does.
Dawn tapped all of her books with her wand, and made them vanish. She sent them to her dorm to be seated neatly on her desk. Rolling up her 5 yard long piece of parchment, she tied it with a black ribbon and turned out of the hall. Walking up two flights of stairs, making her way through crowds of people she finally made it to class. Of course it was easy. Most students knew she was a Queen of Slytherin and knew to get out of her way. A Queen of Slytherin was a girl who had enough dignity, power, strife, and ability to be the top of her class. Dawn was a queen through and through. Via attitude, via persona, and via everyday life- Dawn loved it. But, compaired to most Queens- as well Slytherins she went to classes. She actually had asperations and had goals. Whether they were good or bad in someone else's eyes- they were great in hers.
Turning into the class, she nodded with a grin towards the Professor and took a seat and waited for the class to begin.

Kris was feeling rahter good. Not cause he cared for decorations he coulnd’t even see. He never cared ofr Halloween either, but because once again he was entertaining himself by what had lately turned to be one of his favorite passtimes. More precisecely – Kris was once again irritating Cleo. Appearantly they shared Ancient Runes. So Kris had no troubles walking down the hallays iwth the year younger Ravenclaw, holding onto her elbow rather comfortably and simply enjoying the verbal fight they were having. Dana would have to find herself a new partner in Ancient Runes. Kris wouldn’t really mind letting an other opportunity for annoying Cleo pass. The memory of Muggle Studies earned a brief curving of Kris’s lipcorner as Morrigan curled up comfortably next to his neck.
Opening the door to the classroom Kris felt a desire to scratch his nose. The smell of pumpkins was rather noticeable. Especially since his ability to smell had improved a lot after turning blind. Not loosening his hold on Cleo’s elbow Kris walked calmly next to her as they both settled down in one of the last benches. Not bothering to bring out any books or a quill – he didn’t have any of them alone anyway – Kris just settled comfortably into his seat waiting for the class to being. It was one of the classes he excelled in. Especially after the loss of his eye-sight. Loosing the ability to see improved his full concentration to only the task he had to imagine in his head nad will the runes to work properly.

Mornings were not exactly his favorite time of the day, but somehow he found it necessary to be the responsible one. If he wasn't, Dillion would never make anything of his day, and after making it this far he wasn't about to let his twin sleep his way through his last year at Hogwarts. That said, Payton was always the one to have to wake up with enough extra time to get Dillion out of bed and make sure he was ready for class, or quidditch or whatever he may have to do that day. This morning through, he wasn't exactly up as early as he should have been and he wandered to class with out much extra time.
As he entered, he looked around for a familiar face and he spotted Ashley, who he didn't know very well, but he knew she played on the quidditch team with Dillion, and he went and say in the seat behind her.

Ginny woke startled at the sound of the door banging shot. "What time is it...” she said in-between yawns lay back down on her back. Her brown eyes felt dry and tired from the sudden interruption of her sleep. Moving her head toward the bedside table slightly Ginny admittedly was awake. Her first class of the day, which was Ancient Runes, would be starting in twenty minutes. Swinging her legs over the bed Ginny ran toward the bathroom. Stopping in front of the skink she turned the handle and cool water poured out. Cupping her hands Ginny splashed the cold water on her face feeling slightly more awake. Pulling a towel off a rack Ginny wiped off the extra water on her face that was trickling down into her red hair while trying to put on her uniform. Once set Ginny ran out of the bathroom she gathered her books and took a quick glance at the clock. Only ten minutes left to get to Ancient Runes. She was making good time.
Ginny ran down the steps over some that were trap steps. Rushing through the maze of students Ginny slowed down as a professor walked out of their classroom. She didn’t feel like being yelled at for running. Holding her books closer to her chest Ginny walked the main corridor were Charms and Arthmancy classrooms were. Walking toward the classroom at the end, Ginny pushed the door opened and headed inside. The smell of craved pumpkins tickled the inside of her nose. Ginny’s lips turned into a smile as she spot a familiar sixth year Ravenclaw sitting by herself. Walking over toward her friend Ginny set her books down on the oak table while taking a seat. “Hey Dana.” Ginny greeted with a warm smile before look at the pumpkin in front of her wondering what today's lesson plan would be.

Niki slung her bag over her shoulder as she left her dorm. She was quite upset. Niki couldn't understand why Helen would not tell her anything about her dad. Helen knew him so why couldn't Niki? She knew he was alive, but that didn't help her nerves. She knew something was odd about him other than the fact he left before she was born. Helen was more than Niki's aunt, she was her best friend. Niki had lived with Helen her whole life. She had often visited her mother, but she never rally had the chance to get to know her because she dies when Niki was four. Niki had long recovered from the trauma of loosing her mother, but had she had never gotten used to not having a father. She needed him. Niki needed her father even though she had never talked to him. She need someone to love her besides her aunt. Niki needed someone to calm her, but most of all she just needed him.
As Niki walked out of the common room, she felt her head to make sure her pony tail was in place. Niki was barely ever seen without her shoulder length pony tail trailing behind her. She was a casual person. Niki like things simple, she was never seen with too flashy clothing or over dramatic make-up. She just liked to be her own person. Not too showy or too plain. Niki's bag was a cream color and it stayed at her side as she walked through the corridors. She knew she was late, but at that moment Niki didn't particular care. She wasn't crying, she was just a bit confused. As Niki entered the classroom, she knew she was late so she just took a seat by some fellow Hufflepuffs. She didn't really know them, but Niki didn't mind new people. One of them was a seventh year and the others were younger than her. Niki just smiled and looked at the professor waiting for class to begin.

Elisabeth grabbed her black bag and hurriedly rushed out of the common room. She slowed down in a halls, trying not to knock over any of the younger students. Her book bag slung over her shoulder hit against her leg with every stride she took. She flew around the corner and skidded to slow down just before the door to Ancient Runes.
She stood and caught her breath before walking into the classroom. She looked around and saw a few familiar faces, but most were Slytherins, and she had no reason to sit with them today. Elisabeth walked to the back of the room, and saw someone else also shared her favorite classroom location. She slid into the chair and pushed her bag underneath her. She turned to the girl who sat next to her and extended her right hand. "Hi, my name is Elisabeth. Do you mind if I sit here?" She hoped she wouldn't mind much, as she had already sat down.
