"This is just a terrible day you know that don’t you?" Auron said looking down at his black cat Shadow as she walked next to him going outside back into the sun. He kept walking looking down at the ground then up in the sky again to check the windows of the castle to see if one of those was the one, He looked back down at his cat as she looked up at him. "I swear if you could smile you would be right now wouldn't you?" He said in a cold tone, and then the cat meowed. "I'm still mad at you." he said not really mad at her he just said that. "Never mind like you can understand me." Auron said feeling stupid for talking to a cat. He felt around his neck, he was used to his necklace with a poker chip being there but it was gone today all because of his cat.
"If you didn't push it out the window I wouldn't be out here." Auron said not even looking at his cat just at the ground. A half an hour into looking for it he was starting to get mad. Auron sat down putting his back against the castle wall. "I better find it before we have to go home or I'll never find it." He started thinking, what if someone found it before him. If that was true he would have to worry about who, and if they would give it back but most importantly how would he know if someone had his necklace. Shadow rubbed her back on his leg and meowed. "This is your fault, you know?" He said as he pet her still scanning the ground for anything metal or black and white.

Dresden walked along the side of the castle, thinking about the summer. She was hoping she would get to visit Genevieve and Leo, and possibly Stryder. She felt she had become pretty close to all of them, because they respected her sense of humour, something not many people could do.
Dresden dragged her hand along the wall as she walked. She wasn't walking anywhere particular, just wasting time until dinner. Up ahead she could see someone looking frantically for something, their cat tagging along behind them.
As Dresden came closer, she realized it was a boy in her year. She had never talked to him, but they shared the same house too, so he was in some of her classes.Dresden stopped and watched him for a moment. "Hey, are you looking for something?"

He kept looking over the grass but couldn't seem to find it still, He saw a shadow come a crossed the ground but he didn't look over to see who it was. Soon he could hear the voice of girl asking him what he was looking for. Auron looked over to she a girl, she was in his house he had seen her in the common room a few times. "O umm ya It's a necklace that I have it fell out of the window above me I think." He said looking up real quick then back at her. "I toke it off for a second and shadow pushes it out a window." he then turned to look at his cat. "She's such a pest." Auron said slowly.
"I've had it for sometime and I need to find it." He said remember that he forgot to introduce himself so he stood up. "And I'm Auron and you’re..." He paused for a second knowing he heard her name before. "Dresden right?" Auron said finally thinking he got the right name. "You didn't happen to see a necklace with a poker chip on it?" He asked doubting she would have seen it.

Dresden smiled as the boy called his cat a pest. She bent down and picked up Shadow, cuddling her/him to her chest. "Aww, you're not a pest, are you?" Dresden patted Shadow on the head between his/her ears, before putting him/her back on the ground.
Dresden began to search for a necklace on the ground as the boy introduced himself. "Yes, that's right, my name is Dresden." Dresden smiled that the boy knew her name. It wasn't like it was a lucky guess; after all, how common of a name was Dresden?
"Hmm, a poker chip, eh? I haven't seen it, but I can help you look." Dresden continued her search quietly, wondering how a poker chip could mean so much to someone. It was only a piece of plastic, but than again, there must be a reason that it has such a big sentimental value to it. She realized that it was the sentimental value that he wanted, not the poker chip.
All the time Dresden walked around searching the grass below the castle, another thought began to form in her mind. "Auron," she said looking up, "Are you aware that we have magic?"

He watched as she picked up his cat and said that his cat Shadow wasn't a pest. "Well if you’re around her enough she can be one." He said petting her then looking around, Auron still couldn't seem to find it. He looked back up at her when she said that was her name, He knew he was right when he thought that was her name. He looked over at her again when she said she would help him look and he kind of smiled. "Thanks." He said before going back to looking for it. He still couldn't seem to find it and she hadn't seemed to find it yet ether till he heard her say his name. He looked over to her thinking she found it but she hadn't. The next question she asked made him feel like an idiot. "Wow... I feel dumb now." He mumbled to himself.
He pulled out his wand and thought of the right spell. "Accio necklace." He said picturing the necklace in his head. After a few seconds he opened his eyes to have his necklace come flying and hit him in the face and Auron grabbed it has it fell then rubbed his face. "Thanks." he said looking over at Dresden. "Forgot all about magic... Some Ravenclaw I am." He said almost laughing.

Dresden smiled. "Don't feel dumb, after all, I forgot too, didn't I?" She watched as Auron pulled out his wand. For a minute he couldn't seem to remember the spell. Dresden was about to open her mouth and remind him when he remembered all on his own.
Dresden looked around for the necklace. She wasn't sure which direction it was coming from until she heard the faint sound of it flying through the air. Dresden watched its path, straight to Auron. She hadn't realized he had closed his eyes, and was just opening her mouth to tell him when it hit him in the face.Auron grabbed it as it fell and rubbed his face. "No problem," Dresden said, responding to his thanks, "I think we might have to make up a house for people like us, failures to our houses!" Dresden laughed. Ravenclaws were supposed to be smart, but both of them had been proved otherwise within the last half hour.
Dresden looked at the necklace dangling in Aurons hand. "So what's so special about a poker chip anyways?"

Auron laughed along with her about making up a new house for people like them, Auron knew why he was placed in Ravenclaw. He knew he was smart, He just had his moments where he acted like a muggle and forgot about using magic a lot. 10 years of going things the muggle way must show at some point. "Yes but they would probably make our common room one of the garden houses." He said smiling. He was rarely in a good mood but he was right now probably because he just found his necklace. Auron walked back to where he was sitting and put his back to the wall looking back it his necklace. Auron looked over at her when she started to ask him what was so special about the poker chip.
Auron looked back at the necklace then thought back. He knew it was special but couldn't remember why for a second then he sat down and his cat meowed and he smiled. "Cause of this little girl here. I found it right before I found shadow." He said looking up at her. "I picked this up off the floor turned my head there she was in an alley inside a box and I’ve had both of them around me ever since." He said petting her. "It kind of brings good luck I think." He paused for a second. "Sounds kind of dumb doesn't it?"

Dresden smiled at the story of Auron first finding shadow. He didn't seem to be like most of the boys Dresden knew. He appeared to have a certain sensitivity to him.
"Well if the poker chip brings good luck, you might want to rethink calling Shadow a pest....and it doesn't sounds dumb at all." Dresden walked over to Auron and sat down beside him, leaning her back against the castle wall for support."I wish I had a pest, but all I've got is a brother." Dresden grinned.
Dresden began to play with her hair, twirling dreads between her fingers, until she came to one with a bead on it. The bead was a thick wooden one in the shape of an oval. It was red with black numbers on it. "See this bead here? I put this one in the day I started to grow my dreads. I even wrote the date on it with marker, so I wouldn't forget. Every bead in my hair has a purpose, so I know why your poker ship is special."

Auron smiled still listening to her talk and kept listening as he put his necklace back around his neck then looked over at her. "I think I would still call her a pest." He said petting her. "But she doesn't seem to mind." He said as Shadow walked over to Dresden after she sat down and rubbed her back against Dresden. "I think she does it for attention. Pushing things out windows and trapping herself in my trunk almost every night, and waking up when she's not in my trunk." He said looking at shadow.
Auron looked back up to Dresden as she started to talk again. "Every bead huh?" He said looking at her hair looking at the beads more. "So they all have a purpose, do you have any favorites?" He said looking back at her then looking back at the beads imaging which one would be her favorite if she had one.

"Every bead." Repeated Dresden as she grinned. She was glad he was interested in her beads. She thought they were the most interesting thing that she owned.
Dresden thought over the question in her mind, absentmindedly petting Shadow. She had many beads from different places, given to her by different people. She had one that her childhood friend Pel, the garden gnome, had given her when she was 10. It was made with magic and would change colours with her mood, or there was another one that she had found in an old box up in the attic, that was as black as the night.
There were so many beads, that Dresden almost couldn't decide which one was her favourite, until she remembered one in particular. Dresden reached for one of her dreads at the back of her head. "This one is my favourite." she said, showing it to Auron. It was a simple wooden bead, about two inches long, and rectangular with rounded edges. In small writing, her name had been painted on it in black. "My brother made this for me recently in his wood shop class. He goes to school back home in Cardiff. Anyways, he had some extra time in wood shop so he made me this and sent it to me."
Dresden sighed. It was only a couple days until she would be going home, but she wished she could see her family whenever she wanted, especially her brother Derek."Where are you from anyways?"

He sat there listening to her talk and looking at her beads as he thought of which bead was her favorite and watched as he showed him a wooden bead that was made by her brother. He kind of started to wish for a second that he had a brother or sister but his cat was enough company for him most of the time. "Well I don’t have any brothers or sisters all I got is my cat here so the only thing I get is dead rats from time to time." He said looking at his cat. Then she asked him where he lived and Auron looked back at her. "I live in Kingston, right outside London. I get to walk around a lot and that’s how I found my poker chip and Shadow. “Auron looked over at shadow again and she was still trying to get attention.
"And the summers are nice there and my parents are home for the summer too." He said thinking about home then thought about the letter he got a few days ago. "Well most summers they're home on vacation." He said quietly. "They're not going to be home so much this time." Auron said in a sad tone. He wanted to get his mind off of that right now. "So what are your summers like?" He asked looking back at Dresden.

Dresden felt sympathy toward the boy. It wasn't fair that the only 2 months that he was home, his parents weren't. Dresden was lucky that her family were close, even though she spent 10 months out of the year away from them. Dresden looked at Auron, and then out in front of her. "My summers are ok. I don't do much when I go home. I visit family, hang out with my brother, and I try to find out what I've missed out on in the muggle world... other than that, I stay up late and sleep in like any other teenager. I think this summer I might bring my brother to Diagon Alley, try and meet up with a few friends. Maybe we could meet up sometime, if you'd like? I'm dead set on getting an owl this year, so I won't have to go up to the owlery and wait for one of the schools owls every time I want to send a letter...oops, rambled on a bit." Dresden gave a sheepish grin toward Auron.

Auron smiled as he listened to her but the whole time she was talking he kept thinking about that summer was going to be like. It wasn't going to be that bad, sure summer wouldn't be as fun as normal but it's not like he would never see his parents and they got Sundays off a lot so it shouldn't be that bad. Auron snapped out of it just in time to hear her start talking about Diagon alley, one of his most favorite places besides home and Hogwarts. Auron just smiled when she asked he wanted to meet up with her sometime at Diagon alley then she stopped talking when she thought she was rambling on.
"I don't think you’re rambling on, your just helping me hide the fact that I don’t talk much." He said trying to be funny. "Yes and it would be great to see you sometime at Diagon alley." He said looking over at her. By now his cat had walked back to and lied down and his lap. "Yes and you can come to I guess." After Auron said that the cat meowed.

Dresden watched Shadow walk back and lay down in Aurons lap, as if wanting to be invited to Diagon Alley in the summer, too. Auron told her she could come too, and she meowed, as if she understood what they were talking about. Dresden yawned, stretching her arms up in the air; She was exhausted, yet it was only the middle of the day. When she finished yawning and stretching, she brought her arms back down, folding them across her chest.
She turned her wrist over to see her watch. Dresden had a weird habit of wearing her watch so she had to turn her wrist over to see the time. It was better than not having a watch at all though. She remembered when she had first come to Hogwarts, and realized nothing electronic would work. Being 11 at the time, she was under the impression that she would have to wear a sundial on her arm. Those hopes, as weird as they were, were dashed when she realized wizards had their own kind of watches. Five galleons, one Hogsmeade trip, and one older Ravenclaw student later, she had a watch that would work at Hogwarts.
The time on Dresdens watch read 1:47pm. She yawned again and stood up, brushing off the back of her pants as she did. "I hope you don't mind, but I'm exhausted. I think I'm going to head up to my dorm and have a nap before dinner. Are you going to stay outside, or are you heading in too?"

Auron watched as Dresden yawned and stretched, he guessed she must have been tried or just trying to act it so she could leave but Auron doubted that. As she looked at her watch he looked at it to and tried to see the time also all he could see was it was one something. After she was done talking Auron stood up slowly so his cat would jump off first. "Well I'll walk with you to the entrance of the castle but after that I'll probably head to the library." He stretched his arms for a second.
"I Have to see if I can take a library book home with me." Auron said slowly walking to the castle waiting for Dresden to come to but his cat was right behind me as always. "and this time you can't come." He said quitely looking down at his cat.

Dresden began walking, fast for the first few steps to catch up to Auron, and then at the same pace. "You want to take a library book home? Good luck with that. Librarians and books are like old ladies and cats: they just can't seem to be separated." The two rounded a corner of the castle, the entrance coming in sight.
When they reached their parting destination, Dresden stopped. "Well, I'll see you around. Perhaps on the train in a few days."
