Wendi sat on the foot of her bed quietly for once. She was thinking about something sort of serious. It was her grandparents. They had told Jamison to take care of her more as they were getting old and couldn't handle her too much. Wendi had tried to settle down a bit for them, but it was just too hard. She was like that all the time, however, she knew the time and place to be crazy. Sometimes, those times didn't come. So, Wendi tried her best to be normal. Suddenly, Wendi became tired to the silence and bounced off her bed. It was a school day and Wendi was still in her school robes. She had finished her homework so Wendi decided it was time for some fun. With that, Wendi ran over and put her wand in her side pocket and ran out of her dorm. It was empty for once. Usually, it was full of her fellow Huffie mates, but Wendi was glad she had some quiet time to think. However, she loved them all the same. Oh no! Wendi thought running down the stairs. She suddenly took an abrupt turn towards her room. She darted into side, seized her Hufflepuff scarf, pulled it over her neck, and left the room without saying a word.
"Hi!" Wendi called to the first years she passes in the halls. Some of them smiled back nicely while other just gave her a mean glare and kept walking. It was crazy how mean some of the Sltherins could be, but Wendi tried to not let that bother her. She always gave them a big smile no matter what they did. They seemed to confuse them and it always made Wendi seem like the smarter person for just being herself. Not for being what their parents wanted her to be. However, as Wendi didn't have parents she had never been under that pressure. Jami and her grandparents supported her in whatever she saw fit. The only person who wasn't that way was Wendi's uncle Keith. He had been trying to gain custody of Wendi and Jamison for years, but had never actually received it. Jami had always though that Keith wanted Keith more them himself. But, Wendi always persisted that Jami was so much smarter than her.
Wendi excitedly skipped through the grounds as she had now reached them. There were few people around as classes had finished and most were doing their homework. Wendi was glad at that moment that she had already finished hrs. Suddenly, Wendi walked towards the lake and found as small spot of old cement. She smiled at it as it seemed very out of place. Knowing exactly what to do as she had done it many times before, Wendi pulled out her wand. She pointed it was the pavement and pink walk appeared on it. Wendi smiled at the hops scotch outline. Giggling, Wendi pulled her wand back in her pocket. "One, two, three." She muttered cheerfully. "Hop!" She called. Wendi then began to play the game happily as she heard someone come up to her.

Heidi was woken far too early that morning for her liking. One of her foolish roommates’ cats had knocked over the glass vase which was standing on the elegant, dark brown end table beside Heidi’s large four posters. The noise had somehow only woken Heidi up and she scowled as it did so, deeply irritated. With an almost hiss-like noise she seized the cat by it’s neck-scruff, throwing it-gently- from the room. It landed skilfully on all fours and prowled off, though not before giving Heidi a disapproving look. It wasn’t that Heidi disliked cats- she merely hated being woken up before her body felt it time to do so. Once she was awake, Heidi couldn’t ever get back to sleep without the normal twenty-four hour time change. So she scowled at the retreating tail of the tabby as she slammed the door hard behind it. Heidi turned back around to face the room with a sign of clear anger on her face. Somehow, her fellow Slytherin first years were still asleep. What could she do to wake them? For some reason Heidi scowled at each of them too as she seized the pure, white towel from her bed hanger and strode angrily into the bathroom. What she really needed was a long, hot shower to wash away her rage. But even after the long, hot shower which should have washed away her rage, Heidi felt even worse. She had dropped the soap, hit her head on the shower when reaching for it, had been shocked a considerable amount by the hot tap turning unexpectedly cold, and to finish, Heidi had fallen from the shower on exiting it. All in all the day was beginning to look worse and worse. Even her clothes couldn’t cheer her up- usually Heidi took comfort in what she could wear, or the impression she would make on others. Of course that day didn’t stop her looking nice but she didn’t get the curiousness she usually did on choosing from her wide variety of clothes. On her torso she dressed in a black, tight-fitting top which resembled the style of a corset. Beneath it Heidi wore some extremely white trousers which were lined in gorgeous green silk thread. Of course, not many people would notice the green thread, but it still mattered to Heidi for the fact she knew she was wearing an object of clothing which cost more than one of those filthy Hufflepuffs ever could carry out. To adorn her feet Heidi wore some black pumps which hugged her feet warmly, going halfway down the front of her foot before bounding back up in a tight V. Once dressed Heidi cast a longing look at her make-up desk, but as always left it alone. She wasn’t to wear make-up for classes, mother’s orders. But before leaving the room Heidi did insert some gorgeous silver earrings to her lobes. They came out of an equally gorgeous red box, decked inside with black silk. The earrings had been imported from Italy and were made of the finest materials, with a sparkling emerald in each. Finally, Heidi was ready to leave the dorm. She collected her subject books and placed upon the black top her Slytherin robes, smiling slyly at the bright green crest. The snake upon it seemed to wink at her and she smiled again before tucking her wand safely into the pocket, in easy reach of her hand. Carrying the white, bulging back in the crook of her arm Heidi left for class. She knew it wasn’t best to leave her roommates sleeping and before leaving she cast a whispered charm which passed from her red lips to her wand. As the power left the wand-tip an enormous ‘bang!’ sounded throughout the room. Heidi left just before the rants could reach her ears and smiled cunningly as she elegantly walked down the stairs. She had time to kill before class and would spend it beside the Lake where she often sat- though she was still annoyed by the early wakening she knew the extra revision time would not go wasted. Later that afternoon Heidi felt even more disgruntled. Her classes had not gone all that well as she would have liked. She hadn’t lost any points or forgotten the homework, but hadn’t answered so many questions as her standard was and wasn’t all that pleased about it. So she was in a predominantly sour mood as she returned to the little clearing she had revised in that morning, though walked as though nothing was wrong. Her thick red hair was loose and tumbled like waves of blood over her shoulders as she proudly walked to the place she sat in, and her green eyes flitted to every movement which struck in the area around. She entered the denser tree area and delicately crossed her legs beneath her white trousers as she sat upon the grass. For some reason, as she sat Heidi’s white trousers didn’t get dirty in the slightest, not even the tiniest speck of mud stained her trousers. Heidi began to slowly open the book she had taken with her, The Ancient Flier’s, but was interrupted. “Hop!” A loud voice called out over the trees. Heidi couldn’t have that. She was just calming down, having found the bookmarked place in the leather-bound book, and now some silly individual had to ruin this peace for her? With a deep sigh Heidi rose from her place, wishing she didn’t have to bother with senseless people like the ones she was just about to encounter. She tracked the noise quickly, and saw the head of the shouter bouncing up and down over the hedgerows around the Lake. Heidi recognised the girl, though shamefully. With a small sneer which didn’t ruin her looks too much, Heidi strode into the odd cement clearing and leant delicately against a large oak. “What’s this childish game you play, Parson?” She stated with a downing glance, thrown carelessly at the Hufflepuff. “I’m sure it is absolutely thrilling and I would simply love to join in this gay frolicking,” Heidi sighed sarcastically, “But I have revision. Which, Parson, you have just spoiled with your noisiness. Why is there such need to shout out and ruin the world’s peace?” She looked pityingly at the girl while flicking from her expressionless eyes a straight lock of brazen crimson hair, before returning the elusive hand to her crossed arms in one, swift movement. ((sorry, I had the inspiration and went off a bit ))

Wendi looked up nicely stopping her game for a moment. Her eyes met those of Heidi Boswell, a fellow first year, but it Slytherins. She said something about Wendi disturbing her peace. However, over in Wendi's head all she heard was bla, bla, bla. Wendi of course, was too busy thinking about Jami again. He was expected to take care of her and he was only sixteen. Those thoughts just kept running through her head and Wendi tried so desperately to shift them off. Suddenly, she snapped out of the daze and squinted her eyes at Heidi and actually listened to what she had to say. Wendi just looked at her nicely and gave a warm smile. Of course, Heidi didn't really want to play. But, Wendi couldn't understand why not. Hop Scotch was such a fun game! Why Slytherins never seemed to have true child fun was not in Wendi's mind as she really couldn't see life without games. They always seemed to keep her going. With everything Wendi had been through since birth, being cheerful helped her through it all. She had since learned to love smiling and being nice to people. She loved it so much, Wendi wasn't going to be mean to Heidi. That just wasn't Wendi's style and she wasn't going to make it that way. Wendi glanced at Heidi thinking of the words to say. There were so many, but the situation didn't seem good for those. So, Wendi decided to keep the bad to herself only revealing what she needed to.
Wendi placed her small hands on her hips in her cute little stance. "Hop Scotch, Heidi. You may absolutely join if you would like." She smiled letting the words go from her mouth. Hmmm, what will she say to that? Wendi thought happily in her mind. She really had no clue. Wendi smiled shaking her head in her happy ways. "I'm sorry if I ruined your peace, but you sort of ruined mine as well. If you did that to me, then I wouldn't have ruined your time. I would have let you be and show how nice and caring I am. However, I really am sorry I ruined whatever you were doing in the first place." Wendi squeaked out cheerfully. She didn't say it in any way mean even if it might have sounded that way to a stranger. Her tone didn't have one hint of sarcasm in it and that made it truly unique to Wendi. Wendi suddenly pushed some of her hair out of her face. Her tight bun was falling down. With that, Wendi grabbed her wand from her pocket and pointed it at her her. The elastic on the band around her hair burst and Wendi smiled as it braced her side. She flicked it again as it stretched her hair back into a bun. Wendi then turned back to Heidi.
"You know it really is a fun game if you want to join me." She said cheerfully. Wendi loved the game and played it several time in the pasts school year. It was a good was to reward herself after doing well on a test and things like that. And, it was great fun in general. Of course, her Huffie friends played it with her, but Wendi adored playing it with new people as it was a good friend building game with timed to talk. Wendi smiled at Heidi nicely waiting for her to respond.

Heidi watched as the comical girl entered some weird mode, and raised her eyes. How rude was that? Heidi was talking. She didn’t mind if the girl didn’t listen, as she wouldn’t pay attention when she wanted to the girl’s nattering, but this Parson child actually blanked her. So much for caring and being nice! Heidi sniggered as the brat went on. As she spoke to Heidi the Hufflepuff entered a highly odd pose. It was sort of look that would have suited an angry, burly person who had some business to take care of. But when this Wendi child did it, it just made Heidi laugh. The sound filled the air and interrupted Wendi, and Heidi continued to smile. This encounter was getting quite amusing. As Wendi asked the Slytherin to play, Heidi grinned, imagining the scene. “Ha! Don’t make me laugh Parson. Play, with you? A little squirt who thinks standing like a brawny man will make her look tough? No, I don’t think so.” This girl really was droll. She listened to the girl’s next surprisingly long comment, and chuckled. “Parson if I really wanted to ruin your peace you’d be running by now. And yes that would have been terribly nice and caring you are right, but you are forgetting the fact that I don’t care. But thank you for your apology although I really, really couldn’t want it any less you know.” She smirked to show she really didn’t give a hoot, then laughed as the girl’s hair caused her to take out her wand. Foolish, really, but typical. Most girls, decent ones anyway, had already learnt to charm their bands and hair to perfection before they left anywhere. Heidi’s hair even now was spelled to fix itself if it happened became too chaotic, but Heidi hadn’t really expected the Hufflesquirt to do this. “Yep, I bet it is.” Heidi said at the girl’s invitation. “But I do have some standards and grades to keep up; unlike you I am guessing by the limit of your knowledge.” She looked at Wendi’s smile, despising the attention-seeking girl. Her eye did not blink as she observed the Huffle and expression was one of pure pity and abhor. ((Wow sorry about the lateness of this! Hope it still can go on ))

Wendi shrugged not at all caring what Heidi was saying. If she wanted to be me then fine, Wendi could take it. She had after all put up with an old Slytherin who wanted to kidnap her, she could defiantly put up with Heidi. Words never seemed to hurt Wendi. They just brushed right off her and left her untouched. Some people thought of Wendi as a small, cheerful worthless Hufflepuff, but Jamison didn't. He could see beyond that and knew this little girl would be helpful in the future. Even Keith knew Wendi was special and smart and that was saying something. So, Heidi could talk on, Wendi was used to it by now. Since when did Wendi Parson cry in public? She just didn't. Of course, Wendi cried, she just knew how to hold the tears a bit. She was used to that after ten parentless years. Wendi became bored listening to Heidi talk nonsense and took out her wand. She watched the playful sparks come out of the ends a bit and smiled as they changed colors. It wasn't too hard to do and Jamison had taught it to her. Wendi kept this up still listening to Heidi jabber on.
"I don't try to look tuff. It just happens." She said not even looking up still twirling her wand. She was bored and Wendi needed little things to keep her calm in serious moments. Sure, it might look strange, but Wendi didn't mind that. Wendi kept playing with her wand to at all nervous of the fellow first year. They knew the same things, Heidi just thought she could do things better than Wendi. Or at least she came off that way to Wendi. She smiled as teal sparks emerged. "Ok, the name is Wendi. If my name was Parson then I would introduce myself as Parson Wendi, but it isn't so I don't." Wendi said in a sarcastic tone. After that, she immediately became bored with her wand so she put it back in her pocket. Wendi then looked at Heidi seriously for a bit and then smiled and then frowned again. "Then what do you care about or are you too scared to tell? Wait is it nothing, because if that's true then you aren't human. Hold on, I know you aren't going to tell me because I'm not worthy or something like that. Well maybe I'm not worthy of becoming a Slytherin Pancake Princess, but maybe I don't want to be that way. I had that chance a when I was younger, but I rejected my uncle and the hopes of becoming quote, unquote worthy." Wendi took a deep breath letting the words leave her mouth. It was all true and Wendi wished it wasn't.
She could have left Jamison and moved in with her uncle. He knew something about her no one did. He say that same spark in her eye Jamison saw everyday. Keith knew Wendi was special even though many people disagreed. He knew she was smart beyond reasoning and thought differently than many people. Wendi might be a cheerful kid, but that didn't mean she was useless. "Then, go study. I finished mine for today at least. I think one hour in the morning, a half during lunch, and one in the afternoon in good, but I may be wrong. However, the studying I do does get me very good marks so I guess I am right." Wendi paused looking at Heidi waiting for an answer.
