It was quite a warm day, the day Brianna decided to wake early. Well- extremely early, really. It was four o’clock in the morning. It heavily surprised Brianna she was awake so early- often she woke too late for even her lessons and had to rush to them, so as not to loose Ravenclaw some points. On that day, however, she was up early. Everyone was asleep and Brianna stifled a small giggle as one of them let out an enormous, heavy snore. Another Ravenclaw fifth year woke from the amazing loudness of the snore and threw a heavy pillow through the air with surprising force- it hit the sleeping snorer hard in the face, but fortunately shut her up without waking. Brianna laughed lightly at this too- such an odd thing to do, and was awed at the fact the former snorer was still asleep even after being walloped with the pillow. Good laughs, Brianna smiled as she plodded softly from the dormitory. She often said the two-word phrase randomly in her mind, but believed it to be true. Laughing was highly amusing to make you laugh, so it must be good- right? Brianna pondered this as she entered the Ravenclaw common room. She wasn’t actually sure what she was talking about and left the mental thought before it could give her what she knew it probably would- a headache.
“Stop it Phillip….come back!”
The words made Brianna jump high in the air with fright, and sent a hasty shiver down her spine. She was wearing her soft, cotton pyjamas which were light lilac in colour. On her feet were amazingly warm fluffy slippers which had actually been spelled to keep Brianna’s feet warm. Over her pyjamas the Ravenclaw carried a huge, heavy gown which was bright white in colour and, like her slippers, was fluffy. Even with all this fluff Brianna was still slightly cold, though she obviously didn’t shiver from that. Glancing around with her dark brown, almost black eyes flitting from chair to chair, Brianna smiled as caught sight of the speaker. On the far chair in the far corner of the common room, lay a small second year boy. He looked so innocent sleeping peacefully there that Brianna smiled at him. Clearly now, it was obvious he had been the speaker. Brianna spotted he must be cold and was just about the cover him with a blanket that lay in one of the neighbouring chairs when she wrinkled her nose. The boy had just let out an enormous gust of wind from his lower areas. ‘Pwoaargh!’ Brianna whispered as she covered her nose with a dainty hand. She abandoned the blanket decisively and raised an eyebrow at the boy. The sleeper merely smiled in his sleep and called out once again for Phillip, whoever that was, to come back to him.
It wasn’t too long after that Brianna was standing hesitantly on the steps of the Castle. She had been extremely silent all the way and there was no way that caretaker could have seen her. The sky was almost completely dark, excepting the few outlines of clouds which could be seen as they slowly moved across the sky. Several owls flew over head and Brianna ignored them. She wasn’t so keen on the creatures- preferred spending time with her cuddly little Puffskein, Alico. Currently Alico was in the four-poster with the other Ravenclaw girls in their fifth year, and Brianna almost envied the creature as she stepped onto the dewy grass. She watched her feet as she headed slowly towards the lake. Each little blade of grass seemed to catch her attention as she walked and she watched as the green blades folded so delicately beneath her white slippers. Each sprung back magnificently after she had stepped on them, though the tear-like drops of dew which had adorned them gone, most likely soaking into her slippers. Brianna smiled at a shadow of a cat which disappeared into the trees. Looking around her the Ravenclaw noticed she had entered a small clearing beside the great lake. Ignoring now the blades of grass Brianna sat beside the water’s edge and smiled at all the random little ripples which echoed themselves across the surface. She looked out across the lake, not really sure why she was out there at such a late time of night. It was quite cold now and Brianna could feel on her dark brown hair several drops of rain as they fell from the dark sky. She hadn’t expected it to rain- but didn’t move, choosing instead to sit there calmly as her hair and gown grew damper by the minute. She was sitting so contentedly she didn’t even notice a shadow covering her own, and a figure standing beside her.
