Chilly Saturday ((Mitch))

As it was a Saturday, Kiani rose later than usual from her comfy bed, ready for the new day. She left the dorm wearing a dark green loose dress that didn’t cling but still showed her great figure. Around her neck hung a necklace of brown-green beads, and she wore dangly silver earrings on her lobes. Stepping elegantly out of her dorm room, Kiani went all the way to the great hall, where she snatched a piece of toast from the tables and left for the fresh air outside, with her tiny kitten Kia following behind her.

Kiani walked in the direction of the Courtyard, then changed her mind and turned towards the Lake, where she could sit in peace with Kia. Once at the water, she sat down on the grass, loving the fresh air on her cheeks and the chilly winter morning. Smiling, she scratched her kitten’s furry black stomach and looked out at the dark lake, where the Giant Squid swam.

Mitch awoke earlier then he'd meant to so he quickly slipped on a set of his favorite dark green robes before making his way up to the Great hall to grab a quick bite to eat .
Once Mitch had eaten his fill he made his way up to the The Owlery to get his owl Finn and take him down to the lake like he did every weekend. Mitch walked down to the lake with Finn perched on his arm once outside Finn took to the sky where he began to fly level with Mitch.
Mitch and Finn got to the lake and Finn took off in the direction of the water Mitch took this time to walk over to a girl that he knew was in his house because he'd seen her around in the common room.
Mitch asked '' do you mind if i sit here ?'' then quickly looked back to see what his owl was doing before returning his gave back to the girl and waiting for a reply.

Giving Kia a last flick under her stomach, Kiani leaned back on the damp grass, then jumped up in surprise as a shadow veiled her view. It was a boy, and Kiani recognised him as 'Mitch' from classes. Sitting up, annoyed, she glared at him.

"What do you want, little first year? Can't you see that i am relaxing?" Narrowing her eyes, Kiani waited with baited breath, almost daring the thing to speak. Kia rose from her lie-down, hissing and spitting at the boy, obviously seeing that her mistress didn't want his company.

Mitch wasn't at all surprised by the way Kiani reacted he wouldn't of had it any other way . Mitch stared at Kiani then his view was blocked by the appearance of his owl Finn which was taking up a threatening stance in front of him and towering over the little kitten .
Mitch said ''I noticed that on of my fellow Slytherins was alone and came over to see if you want any company ?''.

Kiani and Kia both watched as the giagantic shadow of the owl passed over them. Their expressions didn't change in the slightest- in fact, they almost got more annoyed. Scowling at the runt of a boy in front of him, Kiani looked down at her tiny little kitten. Picking her cat up in her arms, Kiani gave the furry grey head a little kiss and patted the fat little paws, calming the kitten with soothing little noises.

"Company? I have my cat, Kia, and the Giant Squid for company, why could i want more? It seems to me, young first year, that it is indeed you who would like company on this chilly morning. And if this is true, then you may sit here with me. It has been a long time since i conversed with one so young as yourself and it may be fun." Kiani couldn't help letting out a little smile, and Kia, feeling Kiani's thoughts about the boy change, softened her own expression and mewed softly.

Mitch gave Kiani a funny look before getting Finn to jump onto his arm and stroking him then letting take back off and continuing his air acrobatics.
Mitch took a seat out of Kiani's view of the lake and watched his owl swooping down and touching the surface of the water before taking off again.
Mitch then looked in Kiani's direction asking ''how come you came out when it's this cold ?''.

Kia growled deep in her furry little throat as the large owl settled onto Mitch’s outstretched arms. Kiani scowled at the owl too- she had always hated the things since one had killed her old cat Lana, Kia’s mother. Almost hissing at the thing herself, Kiani nodded at the fact that Mitch had sat away from her view, then looked at him, giving the obvious expression that she thought him very dim.

“Well squirt, I came here on this cold morning for three –no four reasons. One, I like the cold. Two, Kia and I like the lake and Squid. Three, We like spending time together, and four, we like being away from annoying people.”

Kiani looked pointedly at Mitch, stating an obvious note. “However, this once I shall try to refrain from my insults and threats, and be nice to your on your first year.” Then Kiani paused, with an almost pained look upon her face. “You-you are pure-blood right? If not...” Kiani’s face almost went red. The seething thoughts inside her showed, and she felt the need to hit someone. “…then you are the worst little dirty mongrel on this planet and Salazar Slytherin the mighty himself should come and hunt you down.” Kiani grinned menacingly. Imagine a Slytherin mud-blood! She almost laughed att he thought. The child would be teased and tortured all his or her life. And Kiani wasn’t saying she wouldn’t be the bully- oh, she would. The thought pleased her, and She sat a little more comfortably on the grass, though still far from the owl.

Mitch was pained by the fact she had to ask if he was a PURE-BLOOD he said '' you don't get in to the best house unless your pure!, and don't do me any favors I'm just as tough as every one else'' .Mitch glared at the girl not believing she had to ask if he was of pure heritage.

At Mitch's harsh answer, Kiani grinned. Finally, the boy showed some pride.
"Much better. When you greeted me, i could have taken you for a house elf the way you acted. The way you just spoke is much better- with pride and arrogence. You understand?"

Kiani realised she wasn't aboutt o be Mitch's teacher, but it was an important lesson to learn for each an every little Slythie. Even a first year.

"And of course you are pure-blood. Salazar would never allow another blood into Slytherin. I was merely trying to get you to get angry, and i see it worked. Another point- you got angry to just th right level. Any furthur though, and house points would have been lost. Ok?" Kiani smiled sweetly.

Mitch looked a bit glum at the fact he was just tested but smiled at the fact she was smiling in a friendly way, and nodded his way of saying he under stood why she did what she did .
Mitch then sat and watched his owl a bit more, he didn't really know what to talk about on such a chilly day he would normal just play and talk with his owl.
After about 5 minutes of silence Mitch had to get a conversion going so he started to ask question's , Mitch asked '' how often do you come out here ? because I'm out here every weekend but i've never seen you ''. Mitch looked out at the lake and saw Finn dive towards the water before pulling out and sciming the water with his talons.

Kiani looked at the boy beside her. He seemed nerved by the silence, when Kiani was used to it. Her family always ate every meal together- all the time. It was always silent, without talk. No-one ever needed anything, like ketchup or onions, becuase each person had their own little set of everything in front of them. Kiani's dad felt it 'needed'. Kiani felt it was 'pointless' and ruined the family's chance of being a family. Scowling at the thought, Kiani answered Mitch's question in an odd tone.

"When? Hardly ever. I love the cold and often go up to the owlery, but today the owls have pooped everywhere and i couldn't be bothered to Scourgify it. So, i came down here. And Kia goes with me wherever, so here she is. Although i hate owls, they know not to come near me after the last incident."

Kiani's eyes flashed menacingly as she thought of how she had made a ring of fire around herself in the owlery, shocking all of the wimpy birds and making them fly away. "Why do you come down here?" She questioned.

Mitch ddn't really know why he came out onto the grounds every weekend well he to spend time with his owl but theres more.
Mitch answerd with what he knew about why he comes here all the time, '' I come here to spend toime with Finn because at home we are always together and i don't like the fact that no one else grooms him or spends time and talks to him. and i come here to think about school work and what I've learned and friends I've made ''.

Kiani smiled Mitch seemed like a thoughtful guy, but she thought to herself that he shouldn't give too much away to people he didn’t really know. Without saying so though, she grinned. “I guess your very close to Finn then? I hate the stupid things- to feathery and…stupid.” Kiani looked for the right word, and unsuccessfully ended with one she’d already said.

She didn’t look the slightest embarrassed, just scowled at Finn, then turned her frown to a smile as she looked down at her owl little bundle of fluff in her arms. Kia sniffed Kiani’s nose, then licked it with her rough little tongue. Grinning Kia looked up at Mitch again. “So, how’s your first year going so far squirt?”

Mitch was getting anoyed with be called squirt , MItch thought about how his first year had bin so far .
Mitch then answered the question with '' it's going fine it'll be going alot better if you stop calling me squirt ,i hate that nickname thats hat my farther calls me ''.

Kiani grinned. "Ok then squ- Mitch. Sorry, it's a habit for my brother. Anyway, met anyone...interesting to help you along?" Kiani didn't expect Mitch to understand fully about her question, but she meant someone who would teach him about the natural Slytherin Nature- spells of the sort. Smiling at him again, Kiani looked down to see that Kia had gone and was looking expectantly up at Finn in the sky, sitting with his little furry paws beneath his little furry head.

Mitch was bit confused by what she meant but he didn't show it he just grinned nd said '' not yet but the year is still young '' he finished with a grin he just hoped that was the wright sort of answer .
Mitch then noticed that she didn't call him squirt so he added a quick '' thanks '' at the end then sat on his bit of grass and awaited a answer

Kiani nodded. Then she looked up at Finn, a scowl on her face. Still frowning, she asked Mitch why he had the stupid thing. "There's nothing good about them- all they do is fly and eat your breakfast. They're not even fluffy!" Kiani looked over at Mitch as he waited for an answer.

After a moment, she watched as Kia hissed as Finn came nearer to her, then swipe out with her paw. She hit the owl full on the face, leaving five straight scratches. Kiani grinned, whistled to her cat, and said in a soft voice- "Thats my girl." Kia curled up in Kiani's hand, purring and thumping her tiny tail happily. Kiani looked up to see Finn looking as though he was flying with difficulty- Kia had hit him over one eye.

Mitch had always hated cats and now he had a reason to despise them, Mitch couldn't do healing charms very well so he either had to wait till he could ask some one that could .
Mitch didn't want to wait just in case it had coursed some real damage in the end he said '' seen as your stupid cat did it you can help heal him '' he now had a look in his eye that the dark lord would struggle to match.

Kiani grinned at the look on the boy's face. That would scare most Huffles, she thought to herself. Nodding with amusment, Kiani said- "Sure your highness. I would be honoured to perform such a deed." grinning, Kiani whipped out her shining wand, pointed it at the creature of Mitch's and, ignoring the small scared sqeaks coming from the thing, said in a loud, clear tone, "Ferula." Several small bandages shot out from the wand, sticking themselves with invisible force to the owl. In seconds the beast had flown off, though Kiani knew the spell had worked. Smiling sweetly she turned to the ownder of Finn. "Happy now? " She said cutely.

Mitch watched as Finn took to the sky's he wanted to see if he was flying funny but when all seemed in order he looked back at Kiani and said '' very much so , now if theres a next time little kitty will be a little snack '' Mitch looked up at his owl then back at Kiani and smiled evilly .
