((short couldn't think of anything else.)) Monica couldn’t stand her summer, but luckily it was over. But yet she wasn’t satisfied at that either. She didn’t like to return back to Hogwarts, always forced to attend classe's everyday. She hated using her knowledge for that stupid kind of stuff that didn’t help you in the real world. Especially muggle-studies. The only class she liked was defense against the dark arts, since they always learned new different kind of spells. Monica glared at the shimmering water that laid, about 2 yards away from her feet. She inhaled and exhaled that air once more, trying to clear her mind from the days events. 'More filthy and snobby children attending this school year' she thought frowning in dissapointment. 'As if they need an education they can’t even talk appropriately to any slytherin.' She was going to make her way back into the castle, even though she didn’t want to. She turned around and started walking. But she only made three steps, until tripping on something falling backwards. Smacking hard into the water. Her head was filled withy rushing blood. She swam her way to the top catching the air. She got out of the water being soaked from head to toe. ‘What the hell did I trip over?’ Monica thought.

Jack had watched Padme get sorted into Slytherin with slight pride. He knew it all along but yet....there was always a chance that it could work someway differently. Padme was like his other half and he didn't want to lose her to an unworthy house. Well, she wasn't really his other half but she sufficed as a good friend and a snobby younger sister. He smirked; he couldn't expect less from a true Rendel. After all, it was in her blood to be like this. Why he wasn't like that, he didn't know. Roger was always encouraging him to be meaner and tougher, but Jack was one of the softer Slytherins, but at times he could be threatening and intimidating. It all depended his mood of the day. Today he was feeling extremely flushed with happiness and success. Padme had done extremely well and would fit in Slytherin like a fit shoe.
The grounds had looked so inviting he had to venture out there tonight. After talking and eating with his sister and friends, he felt extremely content. But not tired. He felt just as lively as when he had boarded the train. The lake looked inviting too. He had been so very young and innocent when he had first set foot on the Grounds and now he was wiser. He knew he shouldn't swim in the lake. He could possibly get in trouble with a prefect or what not. Smirking in his own amused way, he was heading straight toward the dazzling water when he saw a shadow moving. He couldn't make out who it was from this distance but didn't bother to continue to guess who it was. He would have his own little fun today. It was a girl about his age but he couldn't make out the features. He walked up behind her and just as she was near the lake, he stuck out his leg, tripping her into the deep water. He had a good laugh when the girl came up. He then recognized her quickly as Monica. That doubled up his laughter.
"So sorry. I didn't recognize you there. I'm sure you understand why I'm laughing. You honestly looked hilarious falling into the water." he said with a smirk that told her he wasn't really that exalted about it. He hadn't meant to hurt a Slytherin but mistakes couldn't be mended that easily. He pushed back his bangs from his eyes before watching Monica closely for signs of something hurt. He didn't want her to be extremely hurt, but he didn't really care if she got a bruise or two.

Monica looked at her robes in bit of disappointment. But all of a sudden she fell back onto the ground. For some reason she couldn’t stay stable on her own too feet. She looked up with a sharp eye staring at Jack. He was laughing at this. Monica would laugh to if she had done it to another slytherin but it happened to her. This had boiled up her anger inside. She stared at jack with a mean look, and then back down to her legs. She knew she had been hurt but didn’t really care. She took out her wand and tapped her leg making it heal quickly without thinking twice about it. She then stood up pointing her wand towards her chest making her robes dry quickly right before her eyes. She loved to use non-verbal spells since that’s what she is best at.
She looked back at Jack with a small frown. She then sat back down on the grass, knowing that Jack didn’t come over for any reason. She knew he probably wanted to talk and ask her why she didn’t attend the feast and missing the sorting ceremony. But in reality Monica didn’t know what she was going to say, to him if he asked. She felt like she needed to be alone, and to stop everything that was happening to her. It had been giving her headaches from thinking about it; almost to the point she was going to kill herself. She wanted for everything to stop, she wanted her parents back, she wanted for that little Gryffindor girl named Rosaliz to go away. She wanted a shoulder to cry on with comfort when she needed it the most, but she knew that she couldn’t have any of that. She looked at Jack and wondered what kind of guy he was since she never actually spoke directly to him even if they were in the same house for the past four years. That’s why everybody in her house always never knew what to talk about with her since she was always quite not showing any signs of weakness and depression or showing any of her thoughts or feelings but today she did. She knew that she might had looked foolish but the only thing Monica wanted to know was the answer to her question.....why?.

Fiona left the Great Hall quickly after the feast. She was tired of sitting quietly at the table pretending to be interested in another year at Hogwarts. She was tired of pretending that her parents deaths weren't hurting her. She was tired of pretending! Just another year of lying and pretend. Fiona sighed as she pushed her way past students and out the door of Hogwarts. She didn't feel like being inside at the moment. She wanted to be free. To feel the cool air of the night and to know that she was alone.
However, before she could really enjoy anything she heard laughter near the lake. Straining her eyes she picked out to bodies. One looked to be drenching wet, while the other was shaking with the signs of laughter. Fiona carefully made her way over. She wasn't sure who it was, but as her eyes adjusted to the darkness she realized it was Jack and Monica. Monica was drenching wet, but withing seconds the girl had performed a spell to dry her clothes. It was slightly advanced magic for her age, but Fiona knew that Monica was pretty smart and talented.
"What'd you do Jack push her in the lake?" Fiona asked with amusement as she finally came close to the two. Fiona remembered that Monica had run out of the Great Hall before the feast. She wondered what was wrong. "What's up with you Monica? Running out of the Great Hall before the feast even began," Fiona sighed as she took a seat on the grass and looked at the two. She didn't really care if she had interrupted something important. She was too curious to let herself be polite. Besides she wasn't in the mood to be polite either. She sat on the grass looking at Monica waiting for a reply.

Monica watched, as another slytherin had appeared walking towards them while she sat on the grass. It was Fiona. She was also in her same house but never talked to her directly. As a matter of fact Monica never talked to anybody. Shw was always a quite person thinking to her self. But this time Fiona asked her what was wrong with her Monica didn’t know how she was going to express her feelings. She just stared blankly at the girl who sat in front of her. She thought that nobody ever heard her speak only when she’d insult little Gryffindor's which were not to common for her since they were to afraid to bother Monica. She looked at Fiona and said. “Problems, I have Fiona” she said in dark tone looking away trying to hide her anger that was boiled inside of her. And if she was bothered once more she’d probably explode in anger. She then felt her stomach hurt from hunger. Monica then took another breath of air ignoring to the pain.

Fiona raised her eyebrows in surprise at Monica's reaction. Then again, Monica had always been like that. Never wanting to talk with anyone at all. It had always been something that had bugged Fiona about her dorm mate. She looked at the girl with arrogance and annoyance. "Feisty tonight, aren't we? Maybe you should just start shouting, I'm sure that'll draw some attention. Of course, if you would rather not that's fine to. Just remember that I was trying to help you, instead of trying to hurt you. Some people just can't take it when someone offers them help. And you, Monica, have always been like that. Never talking to anyone. Always keeping your distance. It was as if you thought yourself better, but that can't be the truth. After all, I don't think you're better than me. I'm not even sure if you're on the same level as me. Maybe, if you would talk to me or anyone else for that matter, I would know for sure," Fiona said. She didn't care how she sounded. She had only been trying to help Monica, but it seemed the girl didn't want any body's help. She was determined to go through life alone, without anyone there to help her or support her. Not that Fiona was volunteering for such a job, but at least she could talk with the girl. Help her make a few friends that could actually help her in the long run, but then again Monica probably didn't want her help and that was fine with Fiona.
Fiona sat waiting for Monica's response. She was sure the girl was about to bite her head off. Fiona would be lucky if the girl didn't try to curse her. Of course, Fiona was pretty quick on her feet. She was pretty sure she would be able to defend herself physically if she had to. Though, Fiona had never really seen Monica attack anyone out right. But that didn't mean she wouldn't either. Getting distracted by the ripples in the water, Fiona's attention turned to the giant squid. It seemed to have heard the last conversation. It was sitting near the top of the water trying to see what was going on. It must be annoyed. It probably wanted to go to sleep, but the ruckus with Monica had definitely woken it. Fiona's attention fell back on Monica as she waited for her to respond.

Monica wasn’t surprised at all when she heard the words coming out of Fiona’s mouth. But have of the words in her statement weren’t true. She then answered, “I just want stop everything that was happening to me. It had been giving me headaches from thinking about it; almost to the point that I was going to kill myself. It’s I want to talk to people but yet I afraid that you guys might think I’m a fool. And if you listen to my problems, doesn’t really have an impact on you? You guys can listen but would never feel the way I do since I’m going threw it.” She said looking down feeling her hair move along to with her head moments. Monica’s stomach lurched at the thought of having to tell her friends why she’d always been so quit never showing her emotions. As if she was bottled up in a box. ‘Would they even believe me?’ she thought, once again feeling her stomach lurch. She then looked at the glistening water may be it might help her calm down a bit. Surely Monica wanted to attack them, but yet she didn’t want to since they were trying to talk and give a hand to the need. She then got up walking closer to the water, her back turned to Jack and Fiona. She didn’t want them to know that a tear was tickling down her cheek.
