It was a free day and Ariane had dressed accordinly. Which at her case meant that she was wearing a knee-length blue skirt and a body-hugging white sweater. She had even put her hair – that she was very proud of – up leaving just a few tendrils framing her face. Carrying a book in her hand Ariane left the Hogwarts castle. Ignoring the shouting and running going on the Grounds and near the lake Ariane regally swept pass all those… ‘amusing’ way to spend time. It was a nice day – clear blue sky with only a few stripes of white clouds and the sun looking happily down at the world.
Ariane’s feet carried her quickly – but not rushingly. It would be below her level to ever rush somewhere no matter who it was for. A young lady – especially if she was a Dianne – never rushed anywhere. Her head held regally high Ariane passed other people quickly and entered a small grove she had noticed previously. It wasn’t in the Forbidden Forest nor even in the Forests vicinity, but not many people seemed to come here either. Perhaps because it was a bit further away by the lake-side. Most people tended to stick to the front of the castle or near the Quidditch pitch. Such crowding together never suited Ariane. She was a strong and beautiful individual and needed her space. She would most certainly shine out in any crowd, but Ariane wasn’t in mood for socializing.
Walking to the middle of the grove Ariane broke a rose from a rose-bush and added it among her curls. Someone had cared for these roses sometimes, but now the flowers grew wildly. Nobody seemed to come here anymore – it had been obvious by the amount of fallen leaves on the old stone bench in front of the roses. It was actually surprising to find roses blooming at this time of year still. Most probably they had been fed a lot of magic during years that gave the bushes strength to bloom for this long. Or it was just some weird sort of flowers. Ariane didn’t know nor did she care actually. Gardeners were for making sure there were always blooms to be founds near her home-manor. Ariane gracefully seated herself on the bench and crossed on of her legs over the other. The roses emitted a sweet smell and it was nice and shady under the great oak the behind the bench. Yet enough sunshine came in through the branches of the surrounding trees to make the area alight. A little sweet heaven. A somewhat of a sanctuary that Ariane had decided to claim for herself.
Opening her book abut Dark Curses and how to counter them – if you cursed someone you also had to know how to make sure your opponent couldn’t disable your curse – Ariane bent her head over the book-leaves and started reading while the smell of roses and the sound of the last birds singing.
