Terra slung her guitar over her back; it banged painfully on her shoulder. Looking in the mirror at her appearance, Terra put on a little bit of eyeliner before stepping out of Ravenclaw dormitory. Her black and white guitar turned a few people's heads as she walked down the hall; she prayed to god that none would follow her. Terra had written a song last night and she felt like she had to try it out. She had been practicing the cords and memorizing the lyrics all night. She had dark shadows under her brown eyes which made her look eerie. Her red hair made her look even worse, and the eyeliner didn't help either. Grabbing her sunglasses out of her pockets and putting them on, Terra managed to reach the Entrance Hall without anyone asking questions. Moving quickly, Terra opened the heavy oak doors and stepped onto the grounds.
The big stump near the Forbidden forest looked as inviting as ever. Terra sat down on it, sighing with relief as the guitar stopped banging into her. Pulling it off, she placed it on her lap and began to go through the words in her head. She looked around thoroughly, making sure no one was near by, she started strumming the strings and started singing in a clear, unwavering voice:
"See it all around you, Good love gone bad Usually it's to late to rendevu, to love what you had my mind goes back to a time twelve years ago when I was told:
Just hold on loosely but don't let go if you cling to tightly your gonna lose control it might be hard to believe it but there's a whole lot of places to prove it
Don't let it slip away Don't let it move Don't let your heart swim away
I see it all around you Good love gone bad Usually it's too late to rendevu to love what you had
Just hold on loosely, but don't let go if you cling to tightly your going to lose -"
Footsteps sounded behind Terra, making her almost fall of her stump. Turning so fast the guitar fell off her lap, Terra turned to see the person. She blushed as red as her hair and picked up her instrument; hoping that whoever it was hadn't heard her song.

Maddie walked out of the Slytherin Common Room, with a small smile on her face. She was in a rather good mood that day, and she felt the need to something interesting. She walked around the dungeons and scowled at the many students gathered around, that weren't in Slytherin. 'Honestly, they shouldn't even let those filthy blooded scum anywhere near the dungeons, much less in this blasted school!' she thought to herself. She felt it entirely unfair that those halfblooded and mudblooded freaks got to waltz around the dungeons whenever they pleased, and Slytherins had to put up with them.
"Move!" she said, as she shoved three younger Hufflepuffs out of her way. When she finally reached the Entrance Hall, she grimanced at the lighting, but continued walking. She didn't feel like eating a whole breakfast so she grabbed a peice of toast, and headed back out. She opened the huge doors to the grounds, and stepped outside. She looked around for something to do, and her eyes fell upon one girl, that was near the forest, and she seemed to be singing. "This otta be good..." she muttered, while a devilish smile played across her lips.
She walked over to the girl, careful not to let her know of Maddie's presence. By that time, her toast was already gone and Maddie was somewhat gald because it would have looked a bit odd, sneaking up on someone with toast in your hand. Soon enough, when Maddie was only a couple of feet behind the girl, the girl turned around, dropped her guitar, and almost fall off her stump. Maddie laughed at her, when her face went red with embarressment. "Please, you call that music?" she asked the girl.

I was adrift, on an ocean all alone. You came and rescued me, when I was far from home. A rush of love around my heart, just as I fell apart. Nobody ever cared as much for me, nobody's touched my heart and healed my pain. You've picked up the pieces, and put me back together again. Mack's hand flew across the page- writing down the words to the song she was writing for her album. Her blue eyes followed her hand as she wrote and a smile was on her face, but only a small one. She loved writing her music- she adored it to no end, and she was thankful when Jamie had gotten her a record deal- so now she had plenty of new songs to write. Though Mack was running out of things to write about, she was revolving her music around love- but lately she had no clue as to what love was.
Mack sighed and picked up her acoustic guitar, she started on the correct chord and began; "I was adrift, on an ocean all alone. You came and rescued me, when I was far from home. A rush of love around my heart, just as I fell apart. Nobody ever cared as much for me, nobody's touched my heart and healed my pain. You've picked up the pieces, and put me back together again." Her voice rang out clearly, and the lyrics were beautiful as was the music- but she had nothing for the next verse. Mack placed her guitar and sighed frustrated. Her pen was poised perfectly above the paper and she began to write again; Careful, we're fragile; and easily we break. In your arms I am certain, is all the love we'll make. A rush of love around my heart, just as I fell apart. Nobody ever cared as much for me, nobody's touched my heart and healed my pain. You've picked up the pieces, and put me back together again.
Mack smiled with satisfaction, knowing her song wasn't finished but it was getting there. She would finish it later. For now she wanted to take a walk on the grounds. She enjoyed taking walks now, she enjoyed walking along the lake shore and looking at the sunset- it was now she recognized beauty. She never used to do that, it wasn't until- well; something- happened that she began to appreciate the beauty of the world. Mack stood up from her spot in the lounge, grabbed her guitar and put it in it's case before leaving hte lounge and heading towards the entrance hall and great doors. She pushed them open and walked down to the lake, her red hair sending of a glint and a gleam. Mack walked towards the trees, and stopped when she saw two figures. Maddie, a fellow Slytherin third year, and Terra a Ravenclaw third year. Mack bit her lip and walked over in time to her Maddie say, "You call that music?" Mack raised an eyebrow, "Let's see what you got Maddie." She snapped.

Maddie saw Mack walk over and ask what Maddie had. Maddie was a bit confused for a second, then relized that she was talking about the comment that Maddie had made about the girl's music. Maddie raised an eyebrow and smiled slightly. "You know Mack," she said, turning toward the other girl. "I wasn't saying anything bad about you. Personally, I rather like your music. Although, that," she said, gesturing to the other girl. "Could use a bit of work, don't you think so? I mean come on, that girl definatly isn't a Slytherin, so she can't be very good..." she trailed off simply. She wondered if Mack had gotton her point. Maddie wasn't t trying to offend Mack or her music at all, it was just that Slytherins weren't supposed to like other houses. Besides, Maddie wasn't really insulting the music itself, just the girl, really. Heck, Maddie did a ton of singing and dancing back home, although only her close friends knew about it.

Mack raised an eyebrow, "No music sucks. No artist is horrible. It's the audience that is the problem. When you're singing, as long as you like it- that's all that matters. It doesn't matter who you are, you enjoy singing? You think it's good. Then it is. The critics and the audiences who don't appreciate the music- are the ones with the problem." She retorted, with a gleam in her eyes. She hated when people critiqued music- saying that the song was bad and the singer couldn't sing. Especially when said singer had more self-confidence than the audience. Mack leaned against the tree, her arms crossed over her chest, and looked at Maddie. She wasn't defending Terra- she was defending all the beginning artists in the world who had to deal with critics and horrible reviews.
"Besides- I didn't even hear her sing, so what's your opinion as to a trained ear? Let me tell you, 'tis nothing." Mack spoke clearly with a twinge of sarcasm in her voice. She smiled smugly and tilted her head before looking at Terra- she still didn't acknowledge her.
((Sorry Maddie if Mack was a little harsh. She's very touchy on that subject.))

Robert walked out unto the grounds to see a Slytherin walking toward another Slytherin and a Ravenclaw. This can't be good, Robert thought to himself as he followed her. As he got closer he heard the snobby Slytherin (Maddie) say something about Terra, a fellow Ravenclaw of Robert's same year, and her music. Another Slytherin said, "Let's see what you got, Maddie." Robert couldn't tell weather she was just trying to be mean like most Slytherins, or weather she was being defensive of Terra. It surely wasn't the second one, so she must just be mean.
Until that point, Robert hadn't been seen, but after that he decided to speak up, "I for one, think that it was much better than anything you could ever do." The truth was that Robert didn't hear a single line of Terra's song, but heck, they didn't know that. Then he walked over to Terra and faced the Slytherins. Now it's even. Two to two.

((That's alright.))
Maddie listened to what Mack had to say, with an open ear. Even though she didn't always agree with other Slytherins, Maddie still listened to them. Once Mack was finished, Maddie undretsood what she meant. "Alright, fine, sorry." she said.
Just then another boy, that was a Ravenclaw walked over and said that anything that the girl could do, would be much better than anything a Slytherin could do. "Excuse me?" started Maddie. "Uh, ya know what, whatever." she finished. She didn't want to cause any more trouble between her and Mack, then she already did, so she just left it at that.
((Sorry it's kind of short, I couldn't think of anything else to say.))

((Should we put this on hold until Terra comes? It's slightly dull without her saying anything.))

((August. We could stop the post, but I mean- if we do we'll never get the post back on. I don't know what we could do except not do this post and do another when we're all here. Or do this post and do another when we're all here anyway.))

((Well, I don't really mind what we do. I'll be happy to start a new post, but like Mack said, we'll probably never get it back up. In the mean time, we could have one with just the three of us?))

((Ok, everyone I have a different idea but I'm not sure exactly if it will work. My dad brought his laptop along for the trip after me begging for a few hours on end. So, I'm gonna reply, but if you three don't wish to continue with this post, I will understand. )) Terra took as much time as she dared putting her guitar on her lap before looking up at the girl who had spoken to her. She had said something about how bad her music was, which made Terra's face redden even more, but that didn't stop her from putting her head up defiantly to meet the girl. She was a Slytherin third year of whom Terra didn't know. Giving her a weak smile Terra opened her mouth to speak. "Yes, I do call that music considering I made it." her voice was slightly higher than usually; she had never told anyone about her playing music and the last person she would have told at all would have been a Slytherin she didn't know. Sighing and wiping her mind clear, Terra looked back down at her guitar, determined not to look at the girl, who would probably start laughing at her again. Moving on her stump so she was in a comfortable position, Terra started to strum the strings to keep her mind occupied. Soon, however, her fingers stopped and Terra's head shot upward as she heard a familiar voice talking from somewhere nearby. A girl with red hair and blue eyes was speaking to the other Slytherin. Terra's mind wheeled as she looked at the girl.... she had seen her somewhere before. Mack! Terra sat up straighter as she realized that the Slytherin standing in front of her was Mack Holden, the girl who had been singing in a club in Diagon Alley. Grinning broadly, Terra tuned into their conversation just as Mack said something about the audience being at fault. Terra nodded to show that she agreed with Mack when she heard another pair of feet coming toward her. Turning slightly to see the newcomer, she saw Robert come up to her, a fellow Ravenclaw third year. Terra's face which had been returning to normal color, reddened slightly again as Robert stood beside her stump. She didn't need protecting; Terra knew how to stand up for her own rights. Praying that her face wasn't nearly as red as her hair, Terra smiled at Robert in a friendly way. "Thanks! I don't know much about how my voice sounds while I sing-" she glared at the girl who had come up behind her first before going on "-but at least I'm trying, right?" Her fingers had found their way back to the strings and she felt a sudden wild desire to start playing. She couldn't, she wouldn't, not in front of these three. Shifting to get a full view of the girl from Slytherin, she spoke in a voice that wavered. "I suppose you're a singer then? Or, are you always the critical audience member? You really shouldn't make remarks about something if you haven't tried it first. That is, if you aren't much of a singer."

((I'm still posting. ) Mack watched with intrigue as Terra seemed to bounce back from her insults Maddie had thrown at her. She rolled her eyes and tucked some hair behind her ears as she watched Terra snap back at Maddie. This girl had some nerve talking to a Slytherin that way, Mack nodded in approval of this Ravenclaw. Mack pulled her sunglasses on over her eyes and looked at the girl's guitar, "Hey- let me see that would ya?" Mack stood up and nodded towards the guitar. She was anxious to play.
