Rosaliz looked at her watch, for the 100th time. She couldn’t sleep for some strange reason. It was only one in the mourning. She frowned looking at this because the last time she looked at her clock it was 12:45. She couldn’t believe she only slept for fifteen minutes. She decided to not attempt to fall asleep again because she knew that she’d wake-up a couple minutes after. She stepped quietly out of bed and grabbed some clothes from her trunk to change into. After changing she walked to the dorm’s door. She looked once again around making sure she hadn't woken anyone up. And closed the door behind her. She walked and sat in a big comfy chair, in front of the common room’s fire. She then decided to go out side to get some fresh air. She walked threw the halls, not caring if she made any noise and was willing to stand-up to anybody if they asked what she was doing.
Rosaliz made it to the front doors without being caught. She stepped outside. The air had an aroma of newly fresh cut grass. She loved that smell, which seemed quit usual to her. She looked around. The lawn seemed so peaceful and soundless with out any students around. She walked to her favorite spot. It was an oak tree near by the lake. She sat down. Then she started thinking about home. She was very home sick, mostly 24/7…. She knew that the school would be searching for her since she wasn’t in her dorm.
Rosaliz was awoken from her thoughts when she noticed her aunt’s owl on her lap pecking at her leg. Rosaliz was shocked because she only gets mail from her family only if it is an emergency. She unwrapped the string from the letter that was attached to the owl’s leg. She held it in her hand making sure it was addressed to her. She started to read it.
"Dear honey,
Before you continue reading this letter, I want you to know that I love you very much and you’ll always have me on your side. Your beloved mother was on her way to the grocery market today. But on the way your mother had gotten into a terrible car accident…"
Rosaliz stopped reading; she was wishing that she was all right. The word survivor echoed in her head. Hopping that her instincts were right. She continued to read the letter.
"Her car hit another car and flipped over three times. Sadly your mother didn’t make it. I’m really sorry for your lost with all sympathy. I also wanted to say I can’t take you in as custody because economic issues I have right now Your Aunt Rachel"
Rosaliz couldn’t believe what she read. She didn’t know what she was going to do after she left Hogwarts. Her Grandmother had died, she didn’t know where her father was and she had no friends to live with. Rosaliz felt as if the whole world was on top of her shoulders. After Rosaliz realizing this she noticed the he sun was rising. She then re-read the letter again making sure she wasn’t dreaming. After she noticed it was real, she had a breakdown and started to cry. She cried and cried not knowing how long she cried…She started to get a really bad head ach from it. Then a girl came up to her, asking her something. Rosaliz wasn’t sure what she asked but she needed to talk to somebody, so she started to explain what happened crying mostly through it.

Ivy stepped off the train at Hogsmeade station. She had been home for the weekend because Mr. Ashton still wasn't very well and Fanny needed help with the children. It was Sunday night now... well, Monday morning. Ivy was going to be very tired in lessons tomorrow morning - it was just as well it was after the exams. But she had been looking after the children almost non stop and she had only been able to book tickets for a late train back to Hogsmeade, which arrived at a ghostly time in the morning. Ivy had slept on the train, the repetitive noises lulling her to sleep. She was lucky the train stopped at Hogsmeade and there had been someone kind enough to wake her. Now she carried a small trunk, with just a few of her belongings in it, which she had cast a featherweight charm on - she was tired enough already without having to deal with carrying anything heavy. Because she was arriving at a slightly unorthodox time, she would have to walk all the way back to Hogwarts. Fanny hadn't had the time to cook but Ivy had cooked for the family this weekend, and she and Livi had made some rather scrumptious food while the boys were playing outside. Ivy had some of this in her trunk now, and she smiled as delicious smells wafted out of her trunk, still fresh. Ivy intended to share what was inside with her friends, but at this moment she was rather tempted to eat some of it now. Then again, she felt so tired that she felt a little sick. Ivy glanced at her watch. Four in the morning. A low time. At least she'd probably be able to pinch a bit of sleep before having to get up for breakfast and Monday morning lessons. But she'd rather it had been earlier. The sun hadn't made an appearance in the sky yet, but the horizon was tinged with bits of orange. Finally Ivy arrived within the Hogwarts Grounds. But the Grounds themselves were extensive, and she had yet to walk past the lake. Her whole body ached from being so tired, and her legs could hardly keep up with this exercise she didn't have enough energy for. But she pressed on, until she heard the sound of someone young crying. It didn't take Ivy long to locate the source of the sound, since the sky was getting lighter quite quickly and the shadows shorter. It was a young girl, sitting under a tree by the lake, sobbing as though something had gone really wrong. She didn't look as though she was in school uniform, although Ivy couldn't be sure. She hurried over to the girl, and bent down beside her. "What's the matter?" she asked concernedly. "Are you OK? Why are you out here?" Ivy peered at the girl, who looked like a first year, although she couldn't tell what house she was in, wondering frantically why she was out after curfew and what could be wrong. ((Could you in your next post put the actual words Rosaliz said to Ivy, like what she said when she 'explained what happened'? I find it easier to reply to, and it's more necessary with things like this than with, for example, just saying you greeted someone. Thanks. )

Rosaliz looked at the girl sitting next to her. She looked really tired as if she needed a lot of rest. Rosaliz hoped she didn’t look as tired as she did. The girl asked Rosaliz "What's the matter?" and "Are you OK? Why are you out here?” It took Rosa a couple of attempts to talk from her aching headache and throat. She said to the girl “My name is Rosaliz and I’m in Gryffindor…I came outside around one in the morning, because I couldn’t fall asleep”. She said whimpering.” My aunt’s owl sent me this letter, but I only get mail from my family only if it’s an emergency ” Rosaliz then hesitated and started crying again.
She wasn’t usually like this, mostly a brave person not letting anything worry her but this felt like it crushed her soul. Rosaliz attempted to talk again and said, “I don’t know what I’m going to do after I leave Hogwarts. My Grandmother is dead, I don’t know where my father is and I have no friends to live with.” Rosaliz knew that she probably confused the girl so she then gave the girl the letter that was wet from her tears….she hoped the ink didn’t smudge. “Read this you’ll understand” She said handing the letter to the girl. Rosaliz cried and cried while the girl read the letter. She didn’t care if she acted like a baby during this moment but just needed comfort, and a home really bad.
(( Thanks alot for posting with me *Rosa* ;D))

Ivy smiled as kindly as she could at the girl when she introduced herself as 'Rosaliz' and said she was in Gryffindor, not so sure that she herself would skip curfew rules and come outside at one in the morning because she couldn't sleep, since that would hardly help her, but not dwelling on it as Rosaliz continued on with her story. Ivy's heart sunk as Rosaliz mentioned a family emergency. What could she say about that? She opted not to say anything and just put an arm around Rosaliz to comfort her as the girl sobbed. She couldn't have been in more than first or second year, thought Ivy fleetingly as she watched the crying Gryffindor girl with worry, another wave of tiredness overcoming her as she did so, although she felt far from capable of sleeping with someone to worry about.
Rosaliz was saying something again, about not having family or friends. Ivy frowned as she took the letter she was handed, which was already half open. She didn't really want to read it - it hardly seemed her business seeing as she really didn't know this Gryffindor, but aware of the girl still crying beside her, she reluctantly unfolded the rest of the letter and read it, shocked by what she read inside. Ivy knew the pain of losing a parent. Forever. But it had just made her stick closer by her friends at home and her friends at school, and everyone had been very kind. The girl beside her was probably still in shock. After that she would probably try to deny to herself that it had ever happened. Ivy had done that. Now she looked back to the crying girl, keeping her arm around her to comfort her as best she could, saying the only thing she thought was appropriate at the moment - "I'm sorry." She rummaged in her trunk to bring out a plate of cookies she had brought with her, fairly small ones, and held one with raisins in it out to the girl, not eating one herself because she didn't feel callous like that. It was supposed to be comfort food, Ivy knew it was nothing more, but she couldn't do much to help Rosaliz in any other way, and all she could do was to support her for the time being until she was calm enough be taken back up to the castle.

Rosaliz took a cookie that the girl handed her. After she finished it she felt much better of eating something. She didn’t feel like crying anymore since she was really tired. She looked at the girl and said “what is your name?…and I’m sorry that I made you listen to me, even if you didn’t want to, but I just needed to let it out.” … .” What were you doing her so early in the mourning anyways?” Rosaliz asked so she could just get her mind off of her mother, which she was still in shock… After the girl and Rosaliz talked for a while, Rosaliz stood-up and said “do you want to walk with me to the castle? I don’t want to be caught after breaking curfew rules.” Rosaliz giggled because she found it kind of funny that she left the castle just because she couldn’t sleep. After all she knew she wasn’t a person that kind of person who broke rules. Rosaliz was very happy finding the girl very generous and comforting. She wondered if this was the beginning a friendship that she never had.

Ivy felt some relief as Rosaliz took the cookie and started eating it. She had to stop crying to eat it, and when she had finished she didn't start crying again. The good thing about tears was that they had a calming hormone in them. Ivy always felt rather tired after she'd been crying, and if anyone else had caught her she felt stupid. That was why she didn't cry. She didn't cry. She took it out on herself. And Quidditch. Quidditch was good. Ivy looked anxiously at the girl beside her. She didn't know her and had no idea how to cheer her up. She didn't want to start talking about things which were too painfully close to her own experience. Her own head ached from lack of good sleep, and she felt slightly sick as well, but she tried to ignore it and put it aside. Rosaliz had just asked her what her name was, and why she was here. Now that she could answer.
"I'm Ivy," she said simply. "You don't have to apologise, I'm glad I was here if I've helped." Ivy looked earnestly at the younger Gryffindor. "I'm here if you need me, all right? And I caught a late train back because I'd been at home for the weekend to look after the children of a neighbour who isn't so well." Ivy smiled softly, thinking her own private thoughts of the Ashton family. She would like to think of them as her own family, but, kind as they had been, she would never be part of the family. She was a good friend, but she couldn't see herself ever becoming the child of a family again. Ivy looked up as Rosaliz said something about going back to the castle and not wanting to be caught breaking curfew rules. "Yes, of course, of course," she said distractedly, springing up and checking to see her holdall was properly closed before setting off towards the castle blearily. "You're right it's not the best idea to come out during curfew... especially not nowadays... not with the things keep on going on. But I'm sure you'll be okay this once." Ivy smiled as reassuringly at the Gryffindor as she could as she tried not to trudge her way too much up to the castle she called home now.

Rosaliz started to make her way to the castle with Ivy. She was quite tired wondering what she’d be doing right now if Ivy hadn’t found her. She liked that name nice and simple to remember. Rosaliz shivered feeling a light breeze of wind hit her body since she had no jacket on. She felt exhausted from all the crying she had done. She yawned and then shacked her head trying to keep herself wake. She then looked around the sun was high I the sky. In an hour or two classes would start again. Rosaliz frowned at this she wanted to have some time to sleep but apparently she couldn’t. After finishing in her thoughts she noticed she was standing in front of the Hogwart’s front doors. She looked at Ivy and said “should we go our separate ways now?” ((sorry it's short ))
