“Oh no that’s too much. If you do that it will not clean the desks – it will strip them.” Dana gently chided with a soft laugh trying to put the young Gryffindor at ease. The first year had been forced to not only to create a cleaning solution but scrub down the entire classroom after having his potion blow up in the middle of class the Friday before. Not being the best in potions and without a clue as to who to turn to the boy had asked the fifth year female Ravenclaw prefect to help – her. She had, of course, obliged his request though she warned him she only had an hour to spare – she had an important date tonight she refused to miss.
Tonight was the night she and Mary had deemed “Girls Night Out” – bonding time for the pair. It had been much too long since they had really just relaxed to chat – just the two of them. It was always one thing or another standing in the way it seemed – her prefect duties, OWLs, Mary’s exams, other friends, helping this person or that, her list could go on and on. Plus, as much as they both loved her cousin dearly, it wasn’t exactly girl time with Kris hanging around. ‘Despite how good he was at assimilating’ she thought with a smirk that would make him proud.
Finally the clear blue liquid became the desired consistency and Dana left him to finish up then clean the room for Snape. She rushed out of the dungeons and collected her bag from her dorm room – glad for her night off from patrolling. In the bag was everything you would expect from a girl going on a sleepover with a few interesting additions.
Curfew was but a half hour away but Dana sat in a clearing in the Forbidden Forest – making no move to get up. The sun dipped lower in the sky and she knew Mary would be along any minute – the little girl was late for everything. But she knew neither of them could get lost coming to or from this place – even in the dead of night. Kris often used this place for working out or practicing spells with Dana and many times Mary had accompanied or sought them out around there.
