Jamison couldn't stand being inside the castle. He hadn't liked the castle since the attacks. Jamison had spent every moment away from the indoors when he wasn't in class or asleep. The attacks had been about two weeks or so before, but Jamison cringed at the very thought of what happened. But, being in the courtyard took his mind off all of that. It was just so relaxing and Jamison was free to ponder something else. Anything else. While in the castle, Jamison just felt obligated to think about the attacks. No, this was much better for him. Jamison had been in the courtyard for a few hours. Students surrounded him every which way he turned, but this didn't bother him too much. Flowers were in full bloom all round him and they remained as beautiful as they had been during Beltane. Beltane seemed to far in the passed. Jamison rather missed the time he had that day. But, now the school year was nearly over. There weren't too many classes or anything like that. It was basically gone just like Beltane...
It was late in the afternoon. The sun stood still in its place, but you could tell it wouldn't last much longer. In a batter of time, it would be sunset. Jamison sat on a bench by a fountain. His guitar was placed in his hand of course as he strummed a few cords. Playing guitar always relaxed Jamison. It made him forget about everything and just enjoy his music. Jamison had been that way since he was younger. Playing guitar took away from life. It basically drained him of all thought except for which cords to play. Jamison learned to play at a young age. Wendi became the singing angel she was younger than Jamison was when he learned guitar. They were a musical pair and they enjoyed every moment of it.
Jamison didn't sing any lyrics. He was just playing some of his favorite melodies. Music wise, Jamison went more towards alternative stuff. Some of the songs were faster and some much slower. This was one of the slower songs played by his favorite artists. Jamison liked the rhythm and the melody that left his guitar. The sun was beginning to set before Jamison knew it and the sky lit up with colors. Pinks, oranges, and yellows created a sun burst affect. Jamison grinned at it for a moment letting his fingers stop playing. His grandmother had always insisted that his mom and dad were up there painting the colors in the sky. Jamison lost his parents at a young age so this made since to him then, but he knew better now. Jamison knew Wendi still believed it, but she probably always would. Wendi was a dreamer like that. Jamison continued to play his guitar still eying the sunset.

Setting her quill down Mel let out an exasperated sigh, she was never going to be able to finish her potion essay she had been working on it for about two hours now and only written two paragraphs. She just couldn't concentrate; she had been stuck inside all day and needed a little bit of fresh air to clear her thoughts. She was usually always found outside in between class and what not but today she had determinedly decided to do her potion essay they were assigned instead of waiting for the last minute. She was the queen of procrastination, she always ended up doing every thing at the last minute and her mother always yelled at her for it. She couldn't help it, it was just part of her charm and her mom would just have to deal with it. The only problem was that the carrier that she wanted you couldn't do this because you are dealing with people's lives. Melissa wanted to be a healer like her mother and that being a healer was hard work but paid off when you saved peoples lives. She also new it was long hours but still wanted to do this as her job.
Her Father on the other hand wanted her to be an Auror just like he was and insisted that she drop the whole I want to be a healer act. He just wanted her to follow in his footsteps but she new in time that he would get over it. Setting her quill and parchment back in her bag Mel pulled her-self out of the uncomfortable library chair and put her bag over her shoulder. Walking slowly back to the common room she saw a couple people she new but only waved. She wanted to get back to the common room in time so she could go outside. Walking a little faster Mel finally entered the common room. Throwing her bag onto a random chair Mel threw her hair into a ponytail and walked out of the common room.
Mel walked out of the big doors that lead the grounds and into the warm summer feeling air. She smiled slightly looking at all the pretty flowers in bloom that were in the court yard. Walking into the court yard Mel saw a boy sitting down playing a guitar with his back towards her. He was really good and she quietly walked up behind him and listened. He is really good she thought to herself happily. Being outside always put her in a good mood. Clapping her hands she said in a friendly voice "You're really good". Smiling kindly at him she waited for a response. While waiting for a response she looked as the sun set. It was so beautiful, it reminded her of when her mother had told her that every sunset god is smiling at you.

Jamison turned away from the sunset upon hearing a voice. He offered a smile to the girl he was looking at. She was younger than a fifth year and Jamison had never met her before. Jamison heard her say that he was really good. True, he had heard it before. All his life actually people marveled at how good he played guitar. Actually, Jamison never thought of himself as good. He just thought he could do better. Wendi was Jamison's biggest fan, or at least she called herself that. She as convinced that Jamison could make it as a singer for the wizard world or the muggle world. It was a cute dream, but not something Jamison had ever truly believed in. He wanted to work for the ministry. Not exactly an auror, but somewhere where he was needed. Jamison loved music, this much is true, but a career in it was impractical. Besides, Jamison wanted to protect the world from harm. True, he wasn't very brave, but Jamison just wanted to help. He had always lived to protect Wendi so having a career in the ministry seemed perfect for him. Absolutely perfect.
Jamison picked up his hand to shield his eyes from the sun. He looked at the girl before him and the smile on his face was still there. Jamison shrugged meekly. "I'm okay." He announced calmly. Jamison wasn't the show off sort of person. Besides, how could he show off with something he wasn't too convinced he was good at. Jamison was a hard worker, he wanted to achieve excellence. When it comes to music, Jamison didn't view himself as there. "I'm Jamison." He told the girl calmly. She seemed pretty nice. After all, she did stop to tell him what he thought of his melody. Jamison continued to play a few cords. He had finished his melody for the moment and decided to just mix a few cords for the fun of it. He looked back at the girl. "I don't know if I'm good, but I do love music." He said giving his cool grin that usually aligned his face.
Maybe this girl liked music as Jamison did. He didn't really know. Jamison hadn't really found anyone who's talent was music at Hogwarts. Well, besides Wendi. Jamison liked playing guitar and he did sing a bit, but Wendi was the singer. She and Jamison went Christmas Caroling in the streets every single year. However, students at Hogwarts had so many different talents. Some could write, others dance or play sports. But, Jamison stuck to his music. It was probably the closest thing he had to his father who also played the guitar. Jamison looked back at the girl again. "Can you play?" He said nicely. Jamison waited for her to answer back.

Turning away from the pretty pink sunset she thought to herself as she waited for a reply I hope mom is all right, dad wrote saying she was exhausted but refused to take a break. She was working on one of her closest friend's father and refused to give up on him. Better write a letter to her later. She thought to herself taking a mental note. It was true her mother never gave up which is a good thing because she is a healer but she would push herself to the extremes. She always would go to work very early and not arrive home until after at least ten and then she would pull out her healer books and read for hours looking for something that might help. She barley ate and she almost never slept. She and her father would worry about her 24/7 and would only be satisfied when she was and that was only when her mother cured the person she was so worried about.
Frowning at these thoughts she shook her head to try and get rid of these thoughts. Looking back at the boy she smiled again at his humbleness. Looking at the sunset once more she couldn't help but be surprised by how pretty it was even though she just looked at it it was as though she had looked at it for the first time in her life. She watched silently as the rays danced across the sky and the many different shades of pink purple and blue's seemed to join together as though thy were one big piece of paper. She tuned back to him as he introduced himself "I'm Jamison." The boy said. Smiling politely she said "I'm Melissa Gunner but everyone calls me Mel." She hated to be called Melissa her mother only called her that when she was in trouble or when she was mad at her which wasn't very often. Other then that almost no body besides the occasional teacher called her by her full name.
She listened as he began to play a few more cords and smiled. She loved listening to music and he was very good at it. Looking over by a tree were she saw a little robin sitting on a branch she smiled once again. She had many of these birds by her house and she thought they were very pretty even though her dad thought they were pest because they would ruin there grass in the backyard. Snapping her attention back to the boy named Jamison she listened as he said "I don't know if I'm good, but I do love music." "But you see you are very good" Mel replied laughing slightly. Frowning slightly Mel replied to his question "Actually I can't play the guitar but I can play the violin, though my dad can play the guitar slightly.
(So sorry about the long wait!!)
