Maryn was delighted that it was the weekend. No more classes and she had finished all of her homework. She was delighted to concentrate on something non book related. She was tired of classes and work. Maryn just wanted to kick hells up and enjoy the weekend and that's just what she planned on doing. She headed down from the Gryffindor common room in her favorite jeans, pink hoodie with her white and pink tee under it, and her fashionable tennis shoes. It was pretty could outside, but she didn't care. Maryn was just happy to have fun on the frigid day. Fall was basically gone and winter replaced it. It was getting colder each day and the skies were no longer blue but they were pail and icy. Maryn's fingers were cold, but she simply pulled her hoodie around them and headed further into the court yard. She felt breeze make its way up her neck. However, Maryn didn't even flinch. She was determined to have fun outside no matter what it took.
Maryn searched around for the perfect spot to sit. After finding one, she walked over to the old oak tree. Maryn sat at the base of it and rested her head on the large tree. Maryn leaned up and scratched her head because the bark made her itch. She laughed as she brushed the remains of the broken off pieces away from her head. Maryn looked at the people around her. Most of them were friendly talking. Some of them were yelling and fighting. She thought it odd to be yelling in the middle of courtyard on a Saturday, but she looked right past it. Maryn then noticed something odd when her gaze met a tree across from her. It was an oak tree just like the one she was leaning on, but something was weird about it. She noticed that it had a large tree hole in the center. The hole seemed to have something inside of it. Maryn got up to check it out. She walked quietly up to the tree to examine the item. As she continued to walk, she noticed that it was a letter. Maryn however couldn’t get very close to the tree because she heard someone behind her and jerked around to see who it was. She looked suspicious even thought she wasn’t doing anything wrong.

Cougar had gotten up this morning feeling giddy. He was so glad the weekend was here, he could scream, but he didn't because there were a few of his mates still asleep. He got up and dressed in a Minnesota Viking, an American muggle football team, shirt. He loved football, and just about all his leisure wear shirts were Minnesota shirts. He liked to show off his favorite team. Even thought probably no-one knew anything about football anyway. Cougar put on also a pair of bluejeans. He grabbed a Browning jacket, and put it on. He headed toward the common room, noticed no-one was there then, he headed outside, toward the courtyard.
Cougar walked about. He felt the few gusts of wind on his cheeks, but thanks to his jacket has was quite warm. His jacket was very thick made of goose down. Cougar wondered what it would be like to make a jacket of phoenix down. He walked around the courtyard noticing that there were a few fighting. Cougar didn't see how they could in the cold, but they weren't him so he moved on. He then noticed, however, that there was a girl looking in a tree trunk for something. She looked cold so Cougar thought he would offer her his jacket, but as he got closer she became alarmed, and jumped to see who was behind her. "You look cold would you like my jacket?" Cougar offered already half-taking it off. He wondered if she'd let him join her.

Maryn let out another squeal at the boy. At first she thought he was a Slytherin, but then recognized him as a third year Ravenclaw. Maryn was quite glad because she didn't feel like getting yelled at at that particular moment. It was the weekend and she was determined to not let anyone ruin it, especially a stuck up Slytherin. Maryn let out a sigh of relief and then answered the boy. "No thanks. I'm okay." She let out. Maryn looked at him again. She was cold, but Maryn knew she could ruff it. "Um, sorry for the frightened thing." She said calmly. Maryn wasn't happy with her reply because she was a Gryffindor. Sometimes Maryn felt obligated to be brave, but at that moment she felt stupid that she didn't look it. Maryn patted the dirt with her foot feeling awkward. She was fine in a large group of people, but Maryn didn't do so well with one person. She never knew what to say and she didn't want to look like a total idiot.
Maryn pulled up the hood on her pink hood to shield her hair from the wind. She looked back at the boy. "Oh, silly me, I'm Maryn. And you are?" She offered. Maryn felt stupid that she hadn't introduced herself in the first place. She usually was good at that, but on that particular day, Maryn was rather difficult with her conversations. She then looked back at the note in the tree trunk. Maryn started to move closer to it thinking the boy would follow. "Look, isn't that weird. I found it earlier. Do you want to check it out?" She asked. Maryn was a curious person. She usually liked to partner in crime than to just do something solo. It was easier and more fun that way. She looked at the boy waiting for a response.

Cougar put his jacket on again, half dissappointed at the refused offer, but he soon got over it. He heard her announce her name. He replied with a simple "Cougar Farmer, Ravenclaw third year". He then noticed the note, and Heard her invitation to join her. Cougar accepted without a word, and moved closer to the trunk with Maryn. His instinct told him to take it and read it, but since Maryn found it Cougar would let her open it. He started wondering who could have written the note, and what could it have said. he thoght of it being a note with a few galleons in it

Maryn giggled because she forgot to give her year and house. "Oh, Gryffindor third year." She explained. Cougar then headed for the tree and Maryn knew he had accepted her offer. She laughed and followed behind him. As she moved closer towards the tree, Maryn could see the white letter more clearly. It was funny because it seemed to be luring her closer. She moved behind Cougar. Maryn looked at the tree as she approached it. Cougar didn't move the later because it seemed he wished Maryn to open it. She then reached her little hand inside the trunk and pulled out the letter. It didn't seem heavy at all. In fact it was rather light. Maryn assumed that only a letter was in there. She then pulled it towards her face and jingled it. No sound came out.
Maryn finally decided to open it. She took her shiny, pink nails and tore the sealed envelope. She pulled the letter close to her face and read the few words it said. "Huh?" She said in disbelief. Maryn then handed it to Cougar. She was still staring at the words that flashed on the page.
The time has come to step out of your box and rise above and free them.
Maryn cocked her head at it. That was all it said. There was no initials or anything. She watched Cougar as he read the words. "That's weird." She said softly still pondering.

Cougar thought of the message after Maryn read it aloud. He thought of what it could really mean. He touched on whether it was serious message to the public or to an individual, or if it was just someone poking fun. He thought of what it could mean if it was serious and thought of if someone really wanted you to do something they should have included more details. He scanned through the reach of his mind and come out with nothing to show for it. He asked Maryn," I wonder what it means." He hoped she knew because he was nosy and curious.

Maryn looked at Cougar. "I have no idea." She said softly looking at the parchment. She really had no idea on what it was. It could be anything. Maryn scanned it over a few times. She thought and thought. Finally, she membered something. No!!!! She thought. Maryn put the paper in her hand and crumbled it up. She knew exactly what it was. Maren then reached in the collar of her shirt and pulled out her locket neckless. She looked at it, opened it to the side so Cougar couldn't see and then compared it with the copy. She looked very frighten and she was. Not now! She thought to herself. Maryn then looked at Cougar. "I, I bet it's nothing." She said. Maryn then put the paper in her pocket and started to walk away. Remembering Cougar, she turned around. "Oh, I, I have to go. See you later." She gave a stiff smiled and then turned. Maryn ran all the way to the common room without looking back. She just started crying on her pillow. I can't, I don't want to. She cried over and over again.
(Sorry I ended it, but I have a little plot with Maryn here and it's just getting started. It doesn't make sense now, but it will later)
