Lydia pulled out her sketchbook and turned it to page that showed a lovely landscape. Pulling out a charcoal pencil, she began to work on the drawing. This was Lydia's reverie, art. She knew she was good, but she tended to hide the talent from most other students. It just seemed like everytime someone knew she created works of art they asked her to paint something for them, show them how to draw something, or, worst yet, ask to join. Losing herself, in her work, Lydia didn't realize how much time she had lost until...
She felt the rush of wind pass her back. The ball caught her eye as it landed in a small patch of grass near a tree. Infuriated, she turned to see a Gryffindor and Hufflepuff running in her general direction. Both of the younger students stopped in their tracks as Lydia put down the sketch pad and stood up. Drawing her wand, she pointed it at the two children. Arching an eyebrow and letting a sneer cross her face, she stared down the two. " Was it so hard to just not bother me? But, you people with little intelligence and absolutely no manners couldn't even handle that. Figures, mudbloods have never been known to control themselves."
The two children cowered before Lydia's overwhelming presence. With her wand still trained on them, she finally decided to how to punish thes interlopers. " Silencio!" she commanded. Glowering at the two, she watched as their mouths opened in a silent whimper. " Good, now I can continue my work with no interruptions!" Keeping her eye and wand trained on them, she pondered cruelly what she would do to them next.

The day was a calm. A beautiful spring day, actually. Dawn was not in the mood to be stuck inside of the Common room with no sunlight, so she decided a walk outside would be nice. Walking up into the main hallway inside the school, Dawn stood in a gray pleated skirt and a white dress shirt. She was in her favorite shoes, her black high heels with a gray bow so it would match her skirt. Looking down the hall towards the south court yard door, then looking towards the two main oak doors leading towards the lawns- Dawn though about where exactly she wanted to go. The lawns were probably swarming with mudbloods and halfbreeds who would bug her all day. But then again the courtyard would probably have the exact same thing. Although, the courtyard had some privacy so if Dawn wanted to be alone, she was allowed to be. Smirking she turned to her right as she started down the hallway.
After a minute or so, she finally reached the door way. Pushing the small wooden door, it showed her a lone stone hallway. Traveling down this tunnel many of times in her six years of hogwarts, she knew she was going to be met with a massive black gate. Soon enough, she was. Unlatching the hook, Dawn stepped out into the courtyard. The sun refected off of the fountain and sent dancing sparkles all over the place. A few students played in the water, as many of them were seated and studing. Of course, many others were doing several different things, but they weren't worth looking at. Dawn decided people watching was what she wanted to do. Maybe watch a Ravenclaw teach a friend a spell, or a Huffie attempting to fly correctly on a broom. Or maybe even a Gryffindor sticking up for 'what is right'. Dawn rolled her eyes as that thought passed her mind. Strolling through a doorway of vines, Dawn walked into the grass and started down a seperate path. A few students ran past her. Overhearing a girl whisper, "Thats the McGrogan Queen I told you about. She is scary!" Dawn smirked at the comment. 'Scary. Damn right to you mudbloods.' she thought as she kept walking.
Moments later she heard a voice shout, "Silenco!" Dawn stopped. An attitude came from that tone, it had to be a Slytherin. Dawn began looking for the girl who shouted a spell at whom ever it was. Turning a corner, Dawn found herself standing behind Lydia Rivers. A girl in her brother's year. Dawn only knew of her from Quidditch. She was going to be a starter in her first Quidditch game later in the week. Dawn only knew her on the game level- not a personal one. Standing behind her, she spoke. "Finish them off!" she yelled, due to the fact she was about 20 feet away. Walking a few steps out of a shadow, Dawn said. "If you don't I will." she smirked as she crossed her arms.

Hearing a voice come from behind, she turned around and saw Dawn McGrogan. Lydia didn't really know Dawn outside of Quidditch, but she was more than willing to take her suggestion about finishing them. " Well, if you insist...." She waived her wand again, and the children lifted off the ground as she spoke the incantation. She watched as their little mouths began to open in a silent scream. Smiling wickedly, Lydia was enjoying this. She used to believe that even though she was better than everyone, there was no reason to be vile towards them. However, after watching apathetic attitudes from several younger students and the way they refused to show the proper respect to purebloods, her attitude had changed. Watching the two squirm, she finally tired of this game. Releasing the enchantment, she let the two drop to the ground.
While the two attempted to scramble up, Lydia marched over to them and stood over them. Looking down her nose, the two children cowered under her staggering presence. " Now, I hope you understand the respect you mudbloods should give to us purebloods. Now, go. Before I tire of you marring the beautiful landscape I am trying to preserve." Sneering, Lydia turned to Dawn as the two ran away.
She dusted off the sleeves of her robes, and smile genuinly at Dawn. " Hello Dawn! How are you? I normally don't see you much out of the common room." Cringing as she heard the two younger students interrupt her thoughts again, she turned around and pointed her wand. " Flippendo!" She watched as the two students did a summersault in the air. In a panic, they both ran back into the castle.

"Yes, Well since the weather is getting better the Common room is starting to get humid. Not quite comfortable you know." Dawn said as she walked closer. "So, What have you been up to? Or dare I ask, what have you been up to before you trashed those students?" Dawn grinned as she was standing next to Lydia now. Dawn's heeled shoes seemed to sink into the grass. Walking behind Lydia she stood on cement, and turned around to look at her. Dawn adored the Slytherin uniforms. Since Green was such a dark color you had to take a double take to look at the tie the person was wearing. And of course if a Slytherin saw you staring at them, their fun just began. "Care to help me relieve my bordum?" she asked as Dawn put her hands on her hips and waited for a reply. Dawn didn't have anything to do today. She was actually in a good mood. Just wanted someone to talk to or hang out with. (( That really sucked. I'm just starting to get back into writting to bare with me and my bad posts. I'm trying to break my writter's block. ))

In reply to Dawn's question, " I was actually working on this landscape." Pointing to the sketchbook that now layed open on the bench, " I haven't gotten to do much work lately. I've been rather preoccupied with my school work. " Walking over to the bench, she folded the cover over on the sketchbook and put in the canvas bag she had sitting nearby. " Those two were being so loud. They made my muse go away. It doesn't matter, I was thinking about heading to Hogsmeade and get some shopping done. I need to go to the art supply store, but I get so frustrated there. The woman who owns the shop refuses to keep any of the products I use in stock. I always have to special order and wait for them."
Finally stepping onto the concrete walkway, she pulled out her wand and pointed it at her shoes. Reciting the correct incantation, all the dirt and mud whisked away from her shoes. Smiling she said, " That's better. It is getting a bit late though. I should probably go the kitchens before leaving. I know it's dinner time but I really don't want to deal with the teaming masses today. Want to join me?"

Dawn stood and listened to her speak. She refered to her notebook and Dawn's eyes flickered with enjoyment. "You draw?" Dawn said, "I was wondering what you were doing with that book." She smiled as she walked closed to Lydia. "I like to draw also. I am not the best, but I like it. At home, I have a studio paintings sculputes.. quite enjoyable. You should see it sometime." said commented as she stood and waited for Lydia to finish what she was saying. "Hogsmeade. That place is a muggle land fill. All the muggles aren't used to shops with such normal things. They flock there in clans to check everything out." Dawn rolled her eyes. "I know a shop in Diagon alley. The woman there you most likely aren't used to since you have your own supplier, but she seems to treat me right with the correct paints, brushes, quills, etc.."
Lydia cleaned off her shoes as Dawn began to walk towards the gate door, while listening to her. "I was thinking the same thing. Sitting down is fine and all, but I am just not in the mood for the crowd right now. Did you see how some of those mudbloods eat? Mouthes open, eating with their hands." Dawn cringed as she began to walk though the short tunnel back into the castle.

Lydia nodded her head in agreement with Dawn about the mudbloods. " You think that is bad, but what about those blood traitors the Weasleys? Oh, I thought the twins were bad enough but that girl, ugh, she is just horrible." Lydia said the last part with hatred filled disgust. " She just seems...dirty." Lydia paused as she tried to come up with the right word. " I swear, I saw her in Hogsmeade and she hadn't even bothered to clean herself up from using the floo. She still had black splotches all over her face and clothes. I mean, damn, at least clean your face up. But, honestly, now that I think about it, what do you except? When you hang out with mudbloods like Hermione Granger, you can't help it if some of that muck rubs off."
Lydia stepped inside that building as she continued to talk. " Yes, I do think I know who you are talking about in Diagon Alley. She did do me right when I was trying to order some special charcoal from the States. It was wonderful. It didn't rub off of my fingers like some. I'm a bit of a fanatic about cleanliness." Lydia began to lead the way down the hallway towards the kitchen. Lydia rolled her eyes as she neared their agreed upon destination. " I just though, that place is just going to be teeming with house elves. They can be very helpful, but one of mine has been awful lately. He has gotten very old, and he has been dropping tea services all over the place. Ruined my favorite pair of shoes."

While Dawn and Lydia ventured their way through the tunnel and acrossed the marble floor, they neared their destination as Dawn spoke. "House Elves... Ah. I have five. All wonderful. My father always says how lucky we have it. When he was younger they needed to beat their elf if it did something against them. Now adays they listen the first time they are told." Dawn rolled on. "I have one, Quinn. Has been in my family since way before my older sister was born. He is mine now. Like you said about being clean. He knows all of my pet peeves. Very observant. Well I suppose they should be. All of mine are from Moscow, Very observant and worked to the 'T' there." Dawn turned left as they went down a small hallway towards the kitchens. The painting sat on the wall as always. Reaching forward Dawn tickled the pear as a door appeared. To any new person at Hogwarts this would be a sight, Dawn was just too used to it now. Now in her seventh year the only thing on her mind was leaving this hell hole.
Opening the door Dawn pulled it aside as she stepped forward. "Ahem." she coughed as four House elves turned their heads to her quickly. All running towards her with desserts, drinks, cookies- all wanted to help out a student in need. "Oh hush your mouthes. I merely want a bowl of soup. Tomato soup. And a sour dough roll. That is it. Not really that hungry tonight." Dawn spoke as three of th elves ran away. The remaing one was accompanied by three others and they all looked towards Lydia for her choice.
