Kris had swore, whined, threatened, not ate and after a total of 29 hours madam Pomfrey gave in. So she had walked Kris down to the Hogwarts Courtyard and after telling him with clear irritation that she’d be back for him in an hour, if he managed to not kill himself while then, madam P had left. The Courtyard was abnormally quiet. Probably because most people weren’t even up and he few first persons who were probably weren’t thinking of coming to the Courtyard.
Kris guessed that it was around the time for sunset, but he wasn’t sure. It wasn’t exactly that he could look around and see what time it was. Kris gave a rueful smirk at the thought. He should better get used to it as he was never going to be able to see again.
But it felt nice to be out of the Hospital Wing even if it was only for an hour. It was good to feel the sun and breeze on his face again. Kris had felt caged in the Hospital Wing. Like a cornered animal who had been deprived of everything that mattered to him. He supposed that the weather wasn’t overly warm as it was early and the last part of September. But Kris didn’t mind it, even though he was only wearing a black T-shirt. But the chill in the air surrounding him made him feel alive again. At least to one point as he still had to learn how to deal with life now that he couldn’t see it anymore. He didn’t even look like he used to earlier. He was wearing a pair of simple gray silk-pants with silver lining and a black silk T-shirt. His hair that had always been long had grown even longer and his cheeks had hollowed a bit during his time in coma.
Kris had grown both mentally and physically so he wasn’t a boy anymore. He had transformed into a young man and while he hadn’t been bothered by his age before, then this transformation fit him even more. Sitting down on one of the benches Kris stared into nothingness while he breathed in the fresh air almost greedily while slowly twirling a fallen leaf between his fingers. It felt almost as if he had been allowed to breath freely again after years of keeping him chained down. And Kris savoured the feeling.
Morrigan - the little kitten Kris had found and saved - seemed to like it too as she rather happy meowed and rubed against Kris's foot before parading up and down the bench he was sitting on.
