Phoebe had spent the hold day studying and she needed a rest from it all so she decided to go to the Courtyard. She walked around for a while thinking about her brother. She finally decided to stop and sat near a fountain. She stared into it lazyily.
'Ha! You lost again!' Timothy said to Phoebe as they played a game or wizard's chess. She was never good but loved to play anyway.
'I just let you slide' Phoebe said with a grin.
'So you always let me win?' Tim said with a smirk.
Phoebe stuck her tongue out at her brother and jumped up and hit him playfully on the arm then ran as she could out of the living room. Timothy ran after her with a evil grin and...
Phoebe was remembering one of the good times her and her brother, Timothy, had when she heard someone approach her.
"Who's there?" She said quickly as she turned their way.

Justin was heading out of the castle when he realised that he had no idea where he was headed. He decided that he would try and get somewhere where it was calm and peaceful. He thought that the courtyard would be the best place for what he wanted. He looked around and saw a girl he had met the other day in the library. He walked over and said " HI ,may I join you?" in a polite voice.

Phoebe saw a Gryffindor boy. She smiled at him. She had met him earlier and she thought he was a pretty good guy... for a Gryffindor and all. She never really had a Gryffindor friend before.
"No not at all. I'm glad someone came." She said with a smile again. She moved over for him to sit.

Jordan looked at her watch, cursed, and then headed out of the common room. Studying time was needed, and she couldn't do that in the Hufflepuff common room, now could she? Jordan needed serneity, a place to clear her thoughts. Especially since Mim di-NO! I will not think about that! She scolded herself as she almost thought about her mothers...death.
Jordan skidded as she turned a corner and headed outside to the courtyard. Biting her lip, she tripped over a vine from a near by plant.
"Oi!" Jordan said as she stumbled and fell a couple of steps down the stairs. She laughed at herself, and stood up brushing off her plaid skirt. That was when she noticed Justin and Phoebe talking near the fountain. Jordan smiled as she headed over.
"Ehlo!" She said in a half greeting. She tucked a strand of stray hair behind her right ear and hugged her books close to her chest.
"What are ya'll up to?" She asked with a genuine smile. Phoebe was in Slytherin, a fourth year. And Justin, well, they knew each other. But hadn't really talked lately, not since the library.

Katie was very bored she finished her home work and essay for her classes and was reading a book for two hours. She look outside it was just the right time to go and take a walk. She decided to do so and walked out of the Gryffindor common room and onto the court yard. She was walking by and she noticed Jordan and Phoebe Jordan was a 3 year hufflepuff who seemed very cool and phoebe was a 4 year slytherin she meet the night before she was very nice but was defiantly hiding something. She walked over towards them with her long brown hair flowing behind her in the breeze.
"Jordan Phoebe what’s up" she said she was in a very high energy mood.

Phoebe smiled softly at Jordan and Katie.
"Hey..." She said softly. She looked out into the fountain. She hadn't expected anyone to come by her... but she was happy they did. It gave her an excuse not to think of Tim.
"Nothing's up here... just... thinking..." Phoebe said watching the water.

Katie smiled at Phoebe’s response and took a sit by the fountain.
"Awe really just came out for some fresh air or just thinking" Katie said playing around with the water.
Katie looked at her reflection in the water. Her hair was all over the place and she pulled it back into a pony tail. Her green twinkling eyes were shining back at her.

Brooke placed her guitar down on her bed and looked around the Slytherin girl dormitories. She sighed as she realized there very well, wasn't anything to do. Brooke sighed again and stood up, cracked her neck and left the dormitories to enter the common room. It was slightly empty, a few people resided in the cool warmth of it but most were out. Brooke saw no reason to stay, and she left the dark dungeons of Slytherin.
Brooke went up two flights of stairs and then turned a right. Her destination was indeed the courtyard, but she did not know this yet. Her mind was wandering freely somewhere else. her music most likely, but partly about a particular person she had seen around. But, oh well, her mind had to wander that way, or Brooke wouldn't be Brooke.
She entered the courtyard and smiled at the slight breeze that welcomed her. She recognized Phoebe, a fellow Slytherin hanging around with a Hufflepuff, and two Gryffindors. Brooke scowled in disgust but, none the less made her way to the small group. When she reached the small group, she was aware of the weary glances she recieved, but brushed them off and tried her best to smile. Nothing came.
"I'm Brooke. Brooke Hasenstab." She said, her attempt in smiling still failing. Finally she gave up and crossed her arms over her chest and looked at her feet, feeling quite uncomfortable. It wasn't known for Brooke to feel uncomfortable, it really wasn't. She was normally out going, but things changed.

She than looked up at broke and smiled. Katie could since she was uncomftable.
"Hello Broke I am Katie Davenport a first year Gryffindor if you haven’t already know" Katie said smiling at her.
She remedied her of her mom a little bit. Her mom had red hair and the same style as Brookes and the same eyes almost. She continued to stare at broke with her twinkling eyes. She than turned her attention else where.

Brooke looked shockingly at the small Gryffindor. The girl had spoken to her, a fifth year Slytherin, without stutter. Involuntarily, Brooke's jaw dropped and her eyes got a little larger. She shook her head out of this daze and this time managed a smile.
"Good to meet you," Brooke said. What courage that girl had! To speak to Brooke as if it meant nothing at all! Brooke admired her for it! This was all new to her, she, and much less she seemed to like it...

Katie than was pulled back from her thoughts and looked at Brooke with kind eyes. She smiled again and thought about her mother looking like Brooke.
"You look like my mom a little bit" Katie said staring at Brooke with a gazed expression. Katie didn’t won’t to make Brooke feel comfortable but it was really hard not to stare. Katie was is a very curious person and always wants to know more about people.

Phoebe smiled at Brooke. She looked around her and it must look rather odd to be a Slytherin talking to two Gryffindors and a Hufflepuff.
"Hello. I'm Phoebe, Phoebe Xiong." She said with a small smile. Phoebe's mouth hung open as Katie then said hello to Brook as if it was nothing.
"Oh no... bad move..." She thought to herself looking at the ground. Then Katie mentioned tha Brooke resenbled her mother. PHoebe's eys went large.
"So... um... what brings you all out here?" Phoebe said trying to change the subject.

Katie looked at Phoebe like she did something wrong. She gave a big smile as phoebe changed the subject.
"I came out for some fresh air and I was bored back in the common room what are you guys out for" Katie said continuing to look at Brooke. Her eyes sparkled more and more as she thought more about her mother.

Brooke shook herself out of the daze that had astonished her and smiled at Phoebe who had asked what brought them out here. Brooke smiled again and closed her eyes, thinking of her guitar and how tiring it was getting.
"I was getting a head ache from my music. Thought I should come to a place mroe peaceful." She answered as she shuffled her feet.

Katie than jumped when Brooke mentioned music.
"Oh my gosh I play music I play the guitar" Katie said with a big smile.
Than a memory came back in her mind when she first played the guitar in a singing contest. She was four at the time. She played it so beautifully and she saw her mom glow with proud, this made Katie smile.
Continuing to sway back and forth and she than she closed her eyes as the image came back again. After a few minutes she opened her eyes and looked at Phoebe and Brooke with her twinkling eyes.

Brooke looked up sharply at Katie's mentioning of her playing the guitar. For once a genuine smile crossed her face in the direction of the Gryffindor.
"I play guitar also! I started when I was 3. Or somewhat... But already I have written 3 pieces, and I think in my proud opinion they are wonderful!" Brooke said as she stopped shuffling her feet. A gleam filled her blue eyes and her mind clouded with memories of her songs that she had left behind for her parents to read, most likely that would never happen.

Katie smiled once more at Brooke she thought no one at Hogwarts would play the Guitar expect her.
"I also wrote some pieces too" Katie said smiling.
"Maybe some time I can play you them you mine and you can play me yours" Katie said with a leap of joy of listening to someone else’s piece.

Phoebe smiled at the girls as they talked. She was glad Brooke didn't take offense to Katie.
Her mind began to wonder to her brother again. She was remembering one night when he came home so happy that he got Outstanding O.W.Ls for Charms.
'"Pheebs guess what!" He said with a grin.
"What? You finally got a girl friend?" Phoebe had said with a small grin.
She smiled at the memory and looked into the fountain.

"Alright, sounds like a plan." Normally Brooke wouldn't befriend a Gryffindor, but they had something in common. Music. Brooke smiled and turned to Phoebe, she had seen her around in the Common Room or in classes but she never really thought of talking to her much. Brooke wasn't one to start conversations, but of course she was getting better at that.
"So Phoebe, who do you think will win the Quidditch game on Monday?" Brooke asked as she sat down and put her chin her hands, her elbows propped up on the corner her knees.
