Sydney Rawson, a 15 year old Gryffindor sat on the stairs of the front of the castle staring into the forbidden forest. Sounds from animals echoed slightly through the night as a shine from the moon reflected off the lake. An evening breeze flown around the school, hitting of windows and trees and skimming its self off the lake creating ripples in the water.
Slipping her right hand on to the stone stair she was sitting on she pushed herself off of it as she walked down the remaing stairs. Turning towards the left, Syd followed a stone path to the other side of the school, the South side.
Walking with her arms crossed it seemed she was alone outside, but she knew she wasnt. Even tho Hogwarts was one of the most safe places in the wizarding world she knew anyone could be around the corner, good or bad. Her red hair flew in the breeze as a grin shown on her face. It reminded her of home. 'Where ever you were, the wind followed you from home.' she thought as she finnally arrived at her destination, the courtyard on the south side of the school.
Walking up the three stairs in to the courtyard the radiance beamed all around her. The flowers were brilliant even during the night. Winding vines climbed up the walls and steaks in the ground. Thousands of flowers were spead through the courtyard, along with fruit trees and bushes. Following the stone walkway through arcs of greens it lead Sydney to a fountain. It was an abstract of animals, wizards, and shapes. At the top was a wand with sparkling water flowing out of it into the bowl below. It was amazing. Sydney was taken away. 'This is even better than what I remember.' Syd though as she remembered this was her favorite place to go the year before.
Around the courtyard were cement benchs with intricate and unique designs on each. Turning around Sydney found one with a large insription of the sorting hat. Sitting down she brought one leg up to her chest and hugged it. Relaxing her head on her hand which was placed on her knee her eyes looked over the flowers around her and the Fountain. 'They've grown so much.' she thought as she fell in a calm and composed state from the sound of the water and wind blowing through the trees.
(( Anyone may join in, Just have something you can add to my post to make it fun or what not. You could be a friend from the years before- or not doesnt matter ))

Dinner had been a rather exciting one that evening--or at least for one who finds the study of social behavior enough of an obsession to compleatly take over one's life. Yes, between a fight between two first year Slytherin's, a Hufflepuff breaking out in tears when another girl asked if anyone was sitting in the seat beside her, a group of Gryffindors laughing at what seemed to be some rather rude jokes, Kamron had a rather full evening.
Dispite the fact that he would rather observe the other student's behavior than anything else as a normal pass time, after dinner, he decided ne needed a break. His mind was spinning with ideas and theories, and some fresh air seemed to be exactly what the evening called for.
It wasn't too late yet, so he had a few hours to spend before he had to be back in his room. Taking advantage of the free time, he decided to go take a chance of being more alone for once so he walked downt he stone steps and across the path to the courtyard. He had always liked it there--ye, some of his best views of adolecent behavior had been view in that very courtyard, but now, he just wanted to try and unwind.
He hadn't been expecting anyone else to be there, but as he neared, he spotted the shadowey outline of a girl sitting on one of the benches. As he approched, he narrowed his eyes slightly, trying to figure out who it was int he fading light. He was still a few yards off when he reconized the girl from his Charms class.
"Hi Sydney" He said, in a rather calm, friendly voice, not wanting to startle her in the quiet of the pending night.

Sydney was fully relaxed as she slightly hummed to herself to a tune she remembered her mother always used to sing at home. Staring at the water in the fountain the light bounced off of it joyfully as it seemed it was moving to her humming. With a smile as she ended the song she heard someone say hello in the dimness of the night. Sydney didnt know who it was, but she wasnt frightened. A few seconds later the person came into view. "Oh, hey there Kamron." Sydney grined as she lowed her leg to the ground. Sydney introduced herself to him in Charms, they both nearly made it to class. He was a Ravenclaw as she was a Gryffindor, very nice they both had friendly houses. "How are you doing to night? What brings you here?" she asked as she watched him. Brushing a strand of red hair out of her face she smiled as she always like company. Also, she didnt know to much about Kamron, other than his name so this would be a good time to get to know him. (( Oh yea, if you remember my picture from before, you can forget it Im looking for a new picture, I got red hair now. Haha not that big of a difference though. ))

He kept walking until he was a few feet away from the bench, giving her a friendly smile as his green eyes watched her. He didn't know much about he rother than her name. She was one of the few people in Hogwarts he had not studied enough to have a good idea of their personality and behavior. He wasn't even compleatly sure of her name until she told him what it was in Charms. Of course he always enjoyed company though--and making one more friend sounded like an idea to him. Besides, she seemed very nice.
"I am glorious" He declared happily "My classes went splendidly today, and dinner was nothing short of fascinating. I am out here thought because I wanted some fresh air, and for once, I felt like escaping the crowds."
After his words he glanced around. They were the only ones out here. He wasn't suprised though. Most students went back to their common rooms after dinner. He was glad they were alone though--he didn't want the distraction, and he figured it was the best way to get to know Sydney.
"What about you? How was your day, and now, the start of your evening?"

Sydney watched a listened to Kamron as he went on about his day. Nodding she smiled. She liked how he described his day. Most people would say 'nothing' and end the conversation, but he actually went into detail, she liked that.
He asked her how was her day. Shrugging her shoulders she started. "Classes were alright, My favorite was Charms!" Syd said with a grin as she went on. "I always liked Flitwick. Umm... The rest of the day was alright. Not much happened. I finally got unpacked in my dorm. I took so long!" she said as she shook her head. "Im a procrastinator, cant help it." she said as she tapped her foot on the ground. Looking at Kamron, Sydney stood up from her bench and walked around the fountain. A bush with orange and purple roses. Sydney touched the peddle an orange rose as she grined. She loved the color orange.
Loosening her tie around her neck she pulled it out of her gray polo shirt so she would be more comfortable. Looking over to Kamron, her hazle eyes reflected off the water's light as she asked him, "So whats your favorite class. Mine is most deffinatly Charms, DADA and Astonomy. I love the power of using my wand in defence to things and also to assist me, but I love the stars. To me they are such amazing things, balls of fire far far away. Amazing we can actually see them they seem so small but they are Huge in reality!" Sydney was looking up into the brilliant night sky as she turned to Kamron. A look a little embarrassed she quickly appologized. "Sorry, Im normally not to fond of classes but when you actually catch me talking about them, i guess i loose my mind. Sorry for boring you." she said as she stepped forward leaned on the rim of the fountain base.

An easy, pleased smile crossed his face as she started to appologize and he raised a hand, shaking his head as he did.
"Oh no, you have nothing to apologise for. We all have things that make us happy, and becaue of the pleasure they bring we would talk about them forever. I do the same, though my topic tends to not be as intresting as stars"
He commented the last part with a slight grin. He worked hard not to discuss too much about social behavior while with friends. Most people found it rather boring.
"Besides, I like Astronomy as well. For some of the same reasons even. I find the stars rather beautiful, as you might say, and there alighment is rather intresting. The fact that they are how the Centuars divine the future only adds another level of intrest."

Sydney laughed slightly as Kamron said she didnt need to appologize. Walking closer to Kamron as he talked she stopped next to him as Sydney looked up into the sky. "Yes, they are Pretty. Are you In astonomy class this year?" she asked as she looked like she was searching for something. Bitting her lip while she searched she ended it quickly as she shook her head. "Oh nevermind. I was looking for Mercury, but I forgot that it is best shown right before sun rise." With a shrugg, Syd walked off.
She stepped out of the small area with the fountain as she stepped down a stair to the cement area with bushes and flowers and trees every where. "So you come here often?" Sydney asked as she strolled away to a tree. It was a pear tree with brilliant flowers on it, not pears. The fruit wasnt near the time of its ripe as Sydney went to the trunk of the tree and looked up. Turning back to Kamron As Smiled as she Motioned for him to follow her. "Hey, Come over here!" she said joyfully to her new friend as Sydney found a foot hold and pulled herself up the tree. Climbing higher into the tree she found the spot where she usually sat all last year. Hidden from everyone else, none of her was shown to anyone else in the Courtyard, but a perfect view of the splended sky and stars.
Getting comfortable Sydney leaned up against the tree. With a sigh of relef she felt comfortable and home again. Looking down the tree she saw Kamron. "Come on up. There is a place right here." Sydney motioned to the spot which was right next to her, that had the same view of the sky also.

He smiled at her as she walked closer, listening to her question about astronomy, and then her meantion of mercury. "Yeah, I would hate to not take Astronomy. I find the topic so fascinating." He paused for a moment, about to ask her if she was, but he already knew the answer, and that made him smile again. He liked having friends in his classes, and now she would be in Charms and Astronomy with him.
She sheturned and started tlaking away he watched her in question, but the moment she told him to follow his smiled returned and he walked after her. He was far enough behind to just see her disapeare up into the tree and he oculd not help but think how long it had been since he had climbed a tree.
She encouraged him once more and he climbed up after her--his attempt definatly lacking the grace that hers had posessed.
Once he reached the branch she had claimed he settled down beside her, tilting his head back to look up at the starts.
"Amazing" He said, in awe of the vast beauty of the night sky. To him, it was one of the few things in life that he could never see anyone tiring of.
"I wish we were allowed to fly at night. I want more than anything to get my broom and be closer to the starts"
He smiled slightly as he glanced over at her. "Do you like flying?"

Sydney laughed as Kamron a but clumbsy climbed up the tree. He spoke about flying as he asked her about it. With a small shrugg she said, "Well.. I do like to, but I dont want to play for my house team, im not that competitive. My sister plays for the Tornados." Syd said with a smile as she looked back to the sky.
"Do you play for the Raven team?" Syd asked as she didnt know much of who was on and who wasnt.
(( Really sorry Its so small ))

He was still looking up at the sky when she asked. He shook his head, letting his gaze linger there for a few more moments before he looked over at her.
"I'm on the reserve. I really life to fly, but its more of a pass time for me. I play beater just to reliese stress"
He smiled at her comment about her sister.
"Thats great about your sister. What position does she play?"

Sydney moved in her possition and swung her legs as they dangled over the branch. Looking at the ground about 10- 15 feet below she heard Kamron's question. "Keeper." Sydney didnt like to bragg about her sister, she wasnt a celeb to her she was her sister but to fellow quidditch fans she liked to make them feel happy.
"Reserved team, cool. I heard the Raven team is pretty full, and good." She said. "We are having Interhouse games this year I heard. Wonder how the games are going to be between our Houses." Sydney Said looking up to Kamron with a smile. She didnt like to be competitive, but she knew Harry was a great seeker.

He smiled slightly at the question. It was well known that the Gryffindor team was good--mainly becasue of Harry.
"I bet they will be great to watch" He commented honestly "the Gryffindor team has always been good"
He was still looking at her, noticing how comfortalbe she seemed up here. He was alright high about the ground, but it did seem odd to be in the air and not moving.
"But lets talk about something other than Quidditch"
While she seemed okay with the topic, she already didn't seem like it was what she wanted to focus on--besides, everyone always talked about quidditch.
"How about family. Do you have any other siblings?"

Sydney nodded as Kamron commented on the Gryffindor team. He brought up family as Sydney looked up and shook her head with a smile. "Do I have family!.. wow a big one." she said with a smile. "My mother and father, my oldest brother Derek who is 22. Daria who is on the tornados she is 20, and my youngest brother Evan who is 6." Sydney smiled. She had great siblings who made her as social as she is, social butterfly, her mother always called her.
With a smile she asked Kamron the same question.

He smiled at her answer, and then as she asked the question in return.
"I'm afraid that I am the only one" he replied, still smiling
"But I didn't mind growing up. I never really realized what I was missing."
He paused for a moment, thinking about her answer. So she had three siblings....
"What was it like growing up with a large family?"
It had always just been him and his parents. There was his tutor and nanny when he was younger, but that was different. He had an idea that life in a big family would be very different form his own structured up brining.

"Alone?" Sydney looked at him with a sad look, like he was missing out on something. She paused and looked away as he went on talking. "Umm Fun, someone was always there looking out for me. Derek is a great guy, all around best brother. Daria, sweet but she has her own life really. And Evan is younger so I got to look out for my little bro, I mean come on!" Syd said with a laugh as she looked back to the stars.
Finding herself in a daze she blinked. Lowering her head to Kamron she smiled like she had a great thought in her mind. "Want to go somewhere no one goes? Its the Best place to see the sky, and I mean best... Even better than this place." Sydney emphasised 'best place' as she gave him a smile. She was taught by an older Gryffindor her second year. Since her friend, Jade, left Hogwarts a few years back Sydney is the only one who knows the place.
With a smile Sydney quickly held on to the branch she was sitting on and lowed herself to a dangling possition. "Do you want to?" She asked as she swung her body like a swing and projected herself two feet away from the tree. Landing on her feet, with her hands spotting herself on the ground, Syd stood up. Putting her hands on her hipps she watched for Kamron to do something.

He grinned, looking over at her as she talked about her siblings. He coudlnt help but think about what it would be like to have siblings...he probably would have turned out very different. He did like his structured, lone childhood, but he had grown rather fond of the companionship since he started coming to Hogwarts, and not it seemed almost lonley returning home, where he was alone the majority of the time. Both of his parents worked in the Ministry and were gone the majority of the day.
He grinned as she meantioned the new location. He coudl hardly imagine a place to get a better view of the sky than this, but it sounded like a wonderful idea to him.
"How could I turn down such an offer" he replied, watching her jump down.
He then tried to get down in a similar manor. He managed of course--though once again, her version seemed much more graceful and elegant than his. That was begining to be a trend in her....

Syd smiled as Kamrom couldnt help but want to go and see the spot. With a broad smile Sydney grabbed his hand and quickly ran the length of the Courtyard. Towards the East side of the Courtyard there was a garden of small flowers. Millions of colors shown in the look of the moon as Sydney slowly directed him through the flowers, making sure not to step on any.
They ended up confronted by a bush as Sydney went around it. Letting of of Kamron's hand. Sydney balenced herself on a stone wall that projected itself away from the courtyard- which lead towards the school. It was a good 19-20 walk on a wall that was slightly 1 foot in diameter.
With her arms outspead Sydney walked one foot in front of the other acrossed the wall. Stopping about three feet in she turned around as she looked at Kamron. "Watch me, not the wall. Since its dark you dont want to look down. Just keep your eyes on me and you'll do perfect." Sydney Smiled as she Jumped back around as one of her feet fell off the wall and she balenced on her left. "Geeze!" she exlcaimed as she quickly put her right foot on the wall. "Ok Forget that!" She said while laughing.
A few mintues passes as Sydney ended at the wall. There was nowhere else to walk. Slipping out her wand from her pocket Sydney tapped the wall. The stone at the far -- far left that was a different color she tapped four times. An assortment of large stones moved on the wall as they formed stairs on the left side of the wall. With a smile Sydney turned to Kamron and started to walk up the wall. Reaching the top Sydney climbed over the metal fence around the top of the tower. It was the coned south tower so it was a slopped roof. Setting her feet on the fence in front of her Sydney watched Kamron climb up.
When he finally reached the top Sydney smiled as she pointed up. "Amazing." Thats the only word that could come out of her mouth.

The moment her hand grabbed his he too was off, running across the courtyard into the dusk. He had no sense of where she was taking him, but he followed along, a half step behind.
He paid careful attention to the flowers, as she guided him around themIf she wasn't there he probably would have hardly noticed them, but if she wanted him to be careful of them, then who was he to disagree.
They stopped rather quickly, and he saw her climb up onto a stone wall that faded intot he darkness. He raised an eyebrow as he examined it. Considering the grace that he had demonstrated with the tree, he wasn't sure if balancing while walking the legnth of a stone wall was a smart idea.
Sighing slightly, he followed her up onto it--deciding that the end justifies the means, and if he had to manage across the stone, then he would some how make sure he did.
He nodded, smiling slightly as he told him to focus on her to keep his balance. It seemed logical as he could make out her form and the stone below his feet seemed unclear in the night.
He watched her tap the wall, commiting the patern to his memory as he always did when new things came to him. He then followed her up the stairs -- remaining silent as if they were on some serious task that required all of their concentration.
His attempt at clearing the face was no more graceful than his attempt to get down from the tree, but he managed, and ocne on solig dround again he moved so he stood at her side, looking up at the velvet sky, he opened his mouth slightly in its beauty, but said nothing for a long moment
"And even that can hardly describe it"

Sydney waited till Kamron saw everything from his persepective and waited untill he spoke his first words. With an extatic smile, Syd giggled. "Told Ya It was better than the tree!" She said laying down on the roof staring into the beautiful stary sky. "Wonderful, So many people take small things for granted. Stars seem small to us but they are in reality huge! Amazing how we can over look them in such a quick glance." Syd lectured as she let out a hopeless sigh and crossed her arms over her chest. A breeze flew by as she sat up and for once, had a frown on her face.
Putting her chin on her shoulder, the oposite shoulder than where Kamron was sitting, She looked off to the hills. She knew the silence wasnt normal for her, and for the small time that her and Kamron were together he was bound to notice that something was up. Answering his thoughts she said, "Its Home." faltly. Turning to him she gave him a grin. Rubbing her arms from the cold breeze she spoke out. "I live in Dublin... Ireland." she said with a smile. "My room has a window to the roof and at home I sit there and think and just watch the stars. This exact breeze always hit me at home too. And the hills, the stars, the noises all remind me of home." She bit her lip as she shook her head. "Im pathetic!" She said with a smile and rubbed the back of her neck.
With a heavy exhale Sydney said. "Im freezing!" She laughed slightly as she went on. "The Fall season and Winter seasons are almost the same to! I love the colder seasons- So pretty!" she said as she rubber her arms again in the breeze that swept over the two consistantly.
A few minutes of silence passed. It was completely un expected as Sydney shook her head from her daze- as she looked at Polarius. Speaking with out even blinking her eyes she said, "So did you hear about the Halloween ball?" she asked nonchalantly as she quickly blinked. A look on her face notified that she didnt mean to say it outloud, but she quickly pushed that aside as she smiled her usual smile and waited for a reply.

He was leaning back against his elbows, looking up in the stars when she started was talking about home. In a way it reminded him of home too. He lived in the wizard side of London, and he loved to stay out all night on his balcony reading. In a way it was the same things--the cool breeze, and now clear and bright the sky always looked.
Then she said she was freezing, and with out even thinking he pulled his robe off and placed it across her shoulders.
"I like the colder seasons too" He replied, smiling slightly at how many similarities there were between them. "I love winter, white suits the world well"
Syd let the conversation drift to the halloween ball, and he could not help but raise and eyebrow and look over at her in response. It seemed as if she was a bit suprised by her words as well, but he smiled slightly.
"I'm looking forward to it I guess. I bet it will be really fun. Dumbledore always does the most extrodinary things with the hall." He then paused for a moment, his brow wrinkling slightly "It will probably be even better if you get to go with someone you really like."
He looked back over at her, as his gaze had returned to the sky while he spoke, and managed a half smile.
"I bet you already have someone lined up for the job"
