Ivy wandered down to the courtyard. She'd just been up to the Owlery to send a letter to her mum. Not that she expected a friendly reply.
It was chilly outside, but then again it was November. Ivy pulled her warmer robes on and put her Hufflepuff scarf about her neck. The winds outside were really icy up in Scotland by this time of year.
Ivy sat down on a bench and looked around her. Berries provided a splash of colour but apart from that the usually blooming courtyard was relatively bleak. Ivy was the only person outside.
Ivy put her head down and thought for a while. Soon, however, she was disturbed from her thoughts by somebody's presence. Ivy looked up to see Katie and another young Gryffindor who she didn't know standing in front of her.
Ivy smiled at Katie. "Hello Katie," she said, "and...?" She was hoping to be introduced.

Elizabeth wondered through the courtyard. She saw a group of Gryffindor girls. One of them being her friend Katie Davenport. She paused for a moment thinking it would be best just to stay where she was and not interrupt their conversation or whatever they were doing. " I should try and make friends" she whispered to herself and walked towards the group.

Katie than noticed Ivy and gave her a hug. Ever since Ivy saved her life Katie was very drown to her.
"Hey Ivy, this is my friend Elizabeth" Katie said at Ivy as her new friend was beside her.
"Elizabeth this is Ivy a third year Hufflepuff" Katie said smiling at her. Katie knew they would be great friends.

Elizabeth turned to Ivy and said " Hi Ivy, nice to meet you, lovely day isn it?" Elizabeth had wondered if she made a good impression and if even liked her.
Elizabeth turned towards Katie and whispered " I don't think she likes me very much." Elizabeth wondered why she even bothered trying to make friends. why did I come down here in the first place? Elizabeth asked herself.

Katie was shocked about what Liz said. She pulled back her long brown hair and looked at Liz with her twinkling light green eyes.
"Ivy is the nicest person I know expect for Parvati, Jordan, Kiyla, and Nokomis." Katie whispered back to Liz.
"I totally agree that it is a nice day but it’s a bit chilly don't you think." Katie said smiling at Ivy and Liz.

In an effort to make friends with Ivy Elizabeth said " I have a feeling we're going to be good friends." Elizabeth knew that she was beint og really closed up, not opening up to anyone. she was always self consionsous and was always worried about what people thought about her. She was sure she could learn to be more open.

Ivy smiled at Katie. "Hi Elizabeth," she said, smiling. She wondered whether Elizabeth was being sarcastic about the lovely day part; it was hardly that. The skies were fairly grey, even if it wasn't raining for once. But maybe Ivy just needed to be a bit more upbeat at the moment.
Ivy watched the two younger girls converse quietly. She waited quietly and unobtrusively. When Elizabeth spoke to her again Ivy smiled warmly at her.
"How are you finding your time at Hogwarts so far?" she asked Elizabeth, in an attempt to make conversation.

Elizabeth looked up as Ivy spoke to her. "I love it here! It's way different from muggle schools." exclaimed Elizabeth.
In another effort to make friends with Ivy or at make Ivy not hate her Elizabeth said "so... do you like animals?"
Elizabeth stared at the ground waiting for Ivy's reply and hoping that Ivy didn't hate her.

Katie than got the spark back in her eyes as she thought of something. She than reached her pocket and handed Ivy a piece candy.
"Do you won’t some candy Ivy?" Katie said looking innocently.

Ivy smiled. Another person with a sweet tooth.
"Thanks," Ivy said, as she took the piece of candy. "You'd get on well with Jordan."
Ivy looked from Katie to Elizabeth, wondering if there would be any candy exchange between them. Ivy never had anything much, which perhaps meant that she would never be able to bribe anyone to be her friend, but she didn't particularly like carrying stuff around in her pockets. It always amazed her how Jordan was always able to produce something sweet.
Ivy looked to Elizabeth as she spoke.
"Yes, I do like animals," she said smiling. "I have an owl, called Gilbert." Ivy smiled at Elizabeth. "You?" she enquired.
