Parvati Patil flipped through her pages of her sketchbook and tossed some screwed up art into the burning fire of the common room. She flipped to another page, was about to tear it out, stopped herself and then closed the sketchbook. Why in God's name are you doing this? A voice asked her from somewhere in her mind. Parvati shrugged at herself and placed her sketchbook into her lavendar messenger bag. Hoping it wouldn't be burnt up again soon.
Thinking she needed some fresh air, Parvati gathered her bag and ran down the staircase to the entrance hall. She then took a left and exited the great castle, and found herself in the courtyard. The moon was shining full, but was clouded by some dreary clouds that Parvati had hatred for.
The fountain was pouring with elegance and grace that she just had to sit by it, this Parvati did. She set her bag down beside her and sat down. Propped her elbows on her knees and hid her face from the world. Some would say she was going through a depression, but that wasn't necessarily would Parvati liked to call it. Depression was too much a sad term. Parvati called it a crisis, in which she needed time to herself, but Parvati never got time to herself. She was always surrounded by friends or admirers in which she did not want at all. Of couse, she didn't mind the company of one or two friends at a time, but five or six? She couldn't handle it.

Katie was just in the Girls Dormitory playing her guitar. She closed her eyes as the music filled that air. She was getting really addicted to playing everyday. Back at home she would normally work on homework, chock dinner, clean, watch T.V, and that kind of stuff. Katie than set aside her Guitar and continued to stare at it.
"Play it now" a harsh voice said inside her head. Katie than ignored and looked outside at the full moon. It wasn't late at all and curfew was only until two hours.
"I will go take a walk" Katie said getting up and putting on her sweatshirt and left the Dormitory and down the flights of stairs. After a few minutes of going down stairs and stairs Katie found herself out side. She was walking down rows and rows of flowers and fountains. She than closed her eyes and smelled the fresh air.
Katie kept on thinking in her mind for a song to sing. Not just any song but a love song. She really wants to find someone special here at Hogwarts but no one would love a first year.
Katie walking down and noticed Parvati one of her Gryffindor friends. Katie really admired her because she had such great talent that Katie would never be able to do. She could drawl unlike Katie she couldn’t even drawl a straight line. Katie than worked over towards Parvati and smiled as she reach her and sat down by the fountain.
"Are you out for some fresh out also" Katie asked with her biggest smile she had.

Parvati looked up as Katie approached. So far, only one of them... Parvati thought as she smiled and looked ove Katie's shoulder to make sure no one else was following her. She seemed alone.
"In a way yes. I found myself burning my drawing's in the common room and I decided I was gong completely looney and needed some fresh air. Imagine! Me burning my most prized possessions!" Parvati answered, her frustration clear in her voice. Parvati wasn't one to snap at people, but lately she had been...off, but that didn't sound like the right word.
"Well, lots has been going on lately, so I'm not surprised by my actions, entirely." Parvati added a little bit after her outburst. Many had told her to calm down, even Padma went as far as to let Parvati join in her yoga, but nothing worked and she was always tense. Parvati disliked being tense, it made her feel like she was being a big jerk, when she really didn't want to be.

Katie looked at Parvati with big eyes. She would die if she throw her guitar into the fire, literally she would die. Her guitar was her moms and was passed down to Katie after she died. It means allot to her and if someone ever hurt it or tried to destroy it she would die.
"Is there something else bothering you" Katie asked Parvati. She could tell Parvati was also hiding back something but Katie could be wrong.
Katie than looked at the fountain and the water. Her reflection was staring back at her. Katie smiled at her long brown hair and light green eyes sparkling upon her. Than the image of her mom came in. Her red hair was down and curly and her light green eyes staring upon Katie. Katie smiled than banished from her face and she splashed the water and the image was gone.

Parvati nodded at Katie's question, though she wasn't sure Katie saw it. Parvati sighed to herself, realising she would have to tell the sob tale all over again. She decided to shorten it a bit.
"School is rough, Padma and I aren't as we used to be, and I guess I'm going through depression, for a lack of a better word." Parvati answered slowly as if she was pondering her words over in her mind before speaking them with her tongue.
"I don't know, everything's just out of whack lately." She closed her eyes and tilted her head to the sky. Hoping to see something comforting, nothing really happened. She felt even more insecure than before, and quickly huddled back into her previous position. Her elbows were starting to dig into her knees, but she really didn't care.

Katie than looked up at Parvati she didn’t know she had a twin sister.
"I been my in depression all my life" Katie said remembering her school years and her experience with her mothers death.
"I had a horrible life and everyday I wished I would have died....."Katie said looking at her.
"But I thought of my mom and I kept going but now I don’t know what to think of" Katie said than looking up at the sky.
"NO LET GO OF ME I WONT TO BE WITH HER" Katie could her herself scream in her head.
Katie was holding back strong tears as she relived her mothers death.

Parvati looked at the girl, she seemed distraught and she didn't quite see why. She could tell something had happened to this girl way back when, but Parvati wasn't one to pry.
"Me, thinking of my mom would be thinking of nothing but a brick wall, metaphorically speaking of course." Parvati said after a moment's silence. Her mother had paid no mind to her. But her father, now that was a different story.
"I would much less thing of Draco Malfoy, before my own mother, isn't that sad?" Parvati asked with some self pity.

Katie than looked from the sky to Parvati with her twinkling eyes almost in tears. She nodded she hated Draco so much.
"At least you have a mother" Katie said with an uneasy smile.
"That was so stupid to say" Katie thought continuing to smile Parvati.
"Sorry it’s just that....... any mom is better than no mom and any sister is better than no sister" Katie said.

Parvati shook her head and looked down at her hands.
"It's like I don't have a mom. But I look at Jordan, and I know I have one. But, she doesn't and it tears me up inside." Parvati said with a small sigh. She then looked at Katie's quizzical face and gasped.
"You did know that Jordan's mom died of Cancer a month ago right?" She asked, raising an eyebrow and tilting her head at the first year. Parvati wasn't sure if she was supposed to tell anyone about Jordan's mum, but if she wasn't too late. She just hoped Jordan wouldn't be mad at her.

"No my mom also died last month from a brain tumor" Katie said with almost tears in her eyes. Katie really liked Jordan as a friend and thought she was really cool.
"It happen when I got my letter to Hogwarts... I went to the hospital to tell my mom. But when I arrived I saw her laying there motionless..... I ran inside and listened to her heart but it didn’t beat...... I started to cry but than a nurse came in and dragged me away. I only had a few seconds to be with her" Katie said as tears went down her eyes.
She never told any one this but her owl. Katie didn’t really like reliving her past it was just horrible.

Parvati listened to Katie's story, not helping to feel a little sympathetic. Parvati looked down at her hands, having a moment's silence for Katie and Jordan's mums. Her brown eyes closed and tears starting to well in her eyes.
Parvati was never good with condolences, as far as she was concerned as long as it didn't happen to her everything was alright. But she had changed over the summer. Extremely changed. Overly changed, even.

Katie continued to look at Parvati and she put her elbows on her knees and rested her head on her hands. She let her mind race as she continued to look at Parvati. She was mainly thinking of a new song she could write.
"It’s weird..... I mean change is. All of a sudden you know yourself and your just fine and then you don’t know yourself and you just confused on what to do" Katie said with a sigh.
Then light blob lighten on Katie head and she shot up almost falling into the fountain. She laughed and looked at Parvati all depressed she wonted to make her happy it means acting stupid.
She got up and grab her guitar she always took it every where she went expect for classes. She than started to play and bobbed her head wildly. She than started to spin in circles and started to sing.

Parvati listened to Katie play and sing. She then tilted her head in wonder as Katie complained bout something spinning. Parvati stood up and helped her up, indicating maybe they should walk.
"How are you doing in school so far?" Parvati asked, watching Katie's every step to make sure she didn't fall. Parvati remembered her first year at Hogwarts. It was slightly frightening. Everyone seemed so much larger than her, she felt as if she was an ant. She wondered if that was how Katie felt now..

Katie waited a while for her head to clear to answer Parvati answer.
"I am just fine I made new friends and everything. But I am a little skeptical in Snapes class. I can scream at people who try to make people feel bad or myself" Katie said sitting down next to Parvati.
It was true she would. She screamed at Phoebe for saying tons of bad stuff about her and Katie jumped into the lake as a Gindylow tried to drag her down into the lake again. Katie tried to not remember the Gindylow try to drag her down farther down. She had too many bad experiences with the lake. She almost drowned but Ivy saved her.

Parvati laughed at Katie's last remark bout Snape's class. She remembered that feeling. The feeling of being overshadowed by the "potion's master." The Slytherin's always got points added and the Gryffindor's always had them taken away.
"It gets much easier." Parvati replied. A small smile creeping across her face. She looked at Katie, hoping she felt a little better. Parvati hated it when her friend's weren't feeling well.
"I learned to ignore it, get as many points as possible, and hope that Pansy doesn't ruin everything by getting those points taken away." Parvati said reassuringly. She remembered one time when Pansy had torn her book and blamed it on Harry. Harry got points taken away and if Parvati remembered correctly, a detention.

'Its kind of hard for me to ingore anyone." Katie said taking a deep sigh.
"But I guess I will learn." Katie said looking up at Paravti and giving her a big smile.
"I hope Pancy dosent get me a detention or my screaming." Katie said as her smile came down to a frown.

Parvati listened as Katie said it was hard to ignore the Slytherins. "I'm pretty sure, Jordan's already told you this...but...not all Slytherins are mean and nasty." Parvati inquired, hoping it helped some. She didn't want Katie to hide from them as if they were a disease, although most were. Parvati herself only spoke to one Slytherin and that was Phoebe, but no one else. Unless she was yelling at them of course. "I try to befriend everyone, but I'm not capable of doing that. Not like Padma is. But she isn't in Gryffindor, so that makes it loads easier for her to befriend a Slytherin." Parvati added as an afterthought. She didn't want to make herself sound socially uncapable, but she might as well be. She wasn't as outgoing as most 6th years were. Jordan was a 3rd year and look how outgoing she is! Wow! "I know Jordan told me that, but it was before the next horrible thing happen." Katie said trying to tell Parvati what happened. She took a deep breathe before saying anything.
"I went out for a walk to the lake so I can think..... But then two Slyherins tripped me and I went tumbling down and into the lake. My leg and wrist were already swollen and I couldn’t get up to the surface......" Katie said trailing off before saying anything more. The horrible images came in her mind.
Katie closed her eyes before saying the rest.
"I could see a white light and my mom there welcoming me............. but then I was out of the water. Ivy saved my life." Katie said as the images came back in her mind. She could see a black and white image of her trumbling in and came out.

Parvati tilted her head. Not exactly bored, but not exactly enthused either.
"Why don't you stay away from the lake? Nothing good comes from that place. And besides, you don't want to upset the giant squid now do you?" Parvati asked as she sat down on a bench and looked up into the night sky. Parvati loved the lake. She hadn't been there lately. The last time she was there, was with Liam and teaching him how to draw. He hadn't talked to her since.

Katie than opened her eyes and look at Parvati. As she said she should stay away from the lake.
"Well that’s my plan to not go there anymore." Katie said with a laugh.
"I really like Jordan she funny. I saw her at the ball she and Dillion did some pretty funny stuff." Katie said remembering the pranks.
"I also so you and Jacuin together." Katie said rasing her eyesbrows at Parvati.
"I wish I would of went to the ball with someone but who would wont to go with a first year." Katie said taking a deep sigh.
