Kyle grabbed his guitar case and walked out of the boy's Dormitory. His feet pounded the stairs of the Grand Staircase as his guitar case swung from side to side. He bounded down the steps and soon came to the Double Doors. The sky was dark and dotted with stars when he went through and soon found himself outside.
He headed to the Courtyard, ready for a real practice on his guitar. He hadn't been able to play without interuptions in his dormatory, so he was heading to the Courtyard to be alone. The trees rustled in the wind and the flower'd fragrence drifted around him. The sweet smell made him smile slightly.
He sat down at a bench near the fountain and took out his guitar humming the notes as his fingers pricked the strings to make a melody.

Katie was had just fallen asleep on the table in the Gryfifndor common room. She had been there since classes went out. She was so tried because she didnt get any sleep the night before, that dream still was in her mind and haunted the corner of her heart she needed to tell Jordan her dream and quike.
As Katie got up she grabbed her own guitar and backpack and went in search of Jordan in the courtyard. She walked down the flights of the moving stair casses and jumped over the trap steeps. Katie finally reached the courtyard and she heard a faint sound of a guitar play some where around in the courtyard.
She than tried to follow the music still holding onto her guitar in her hands. She she circled a tree she notice a boy she had never seen before playing the gutair. Katie smiled and she too started to play. Her hand glided over the strings and she played the same thing he was playing.
As she reached him Katie smiled and took a seat next to him.
"Musican yourself huh? same here. I am Katie Davenport a first year Gryffindor if you havent known already but I will be kown soon I hope." Katie said reaching in her pocket and took out a chocoball and put it in her mouth. She was geting a very big sweet tooth thanks to her sister Jordan.

Vanessa swung her arm around a pole and swung in a circle before skipping off towards the courtyard. She hummed a melody that had been working in her head all day, but stopped when she heard the sound of music. She walked towards the music and smiled when she saw Kyle.
"Hey, keep that going..let me try something.." Vanessa pulled out a sheet of lyrics that she had written on that day in potions. She closed her eyes and found the beat before continuing.
"When the night comes
No one knows
I can hear it
I got my private radio." Vanessa smiled and stopped as she realized Katie was there.
"Oh, hey Katie! Whattya think of it? I thought we could record it this weekend, I already aked Jordan if it's okay she said it was fine with her." Vanessa said as she sat down next to Kyle.

Kyle jumped about ten feet when a girl came out of thew shadows, making the music stop with a strange note. He smiled and gulped slightly when the girl came into veiw. He smiled when she told him her name was Katie. He nodded and extended his hand to her.
"Er... I...um... I'm Kyle," he said with a nervous stutter. He shook his head and smiled. Letting his hand fall he took up his guitar again, strumming the beat once again. Katie followed. He smiled at her.
Then Venessa appeared, Kyle took a deep breath and sighed, a smile on his lips. He kept strumming the strings of his guitar while Vanessa sang a short song verse with that deep rich and beautiful voice of hers. He tried as hard as he could to concentrate on the notes, but her voice made his concentration go! He stared at her with a blank face and when she finished he blinked, trying to get his concentration back.
"That was wonderful!" Kyle said, "I...I absoluetly love-loved it!"

Vanessa smiled shyly and looked down at her hands. She then looked back up.
"Th-thanks. You're good at playing the guitar. Katie plays too, I feel like the odd one out..I play piano." Vanessa said with a slight laugh. She blushed slightly and looked up into the stars, thinking of some lyrics to write.
We're back, back in San Fransisco... She thought, pointless song, but good lyrics.

Katie looked up at the two Hufflepuffs fith years and smiled. She notice that they both were so much allike. They both were musicaly talented and a bit shy.
"I agree with Kyle thats allot better than what I can write!" Katie said with a laugh. Katie was only telling the truth she coulnd't write songs if her life depended on it.
Katie than took out her back pack and took out her note book full of songs in it and guitar music notes. She smiled as she handed Vanesaa and Kyle the notebook.
"I was wondering if you could take a peek at it. I am not all good but we can change them a bit." Katie said. She than directed her attention the her guitar and closed her eyes and started to play her favortie song in the muggle world, Brooken by Seether and Amy Lee. Katie was a real evanescence fan and she loved the deep songs Amy lee sang.

Vanessa looked at Katie, shook her head and laughed. Her? Good at writing music? No...Katie was good at writing music, Katie and Kyle both, all Vanessa could do was write lyrics.
Vanessa looked over Kyle's shoulder, reading the lyrics. Biting her lip she looked at Katie.
"Do you mi-mind if I ch-change a few things?" She asked, an eyebrow raised in wonder.

Katie looked up at Vanessa and smiled and nooded her head.
"Go right ahead. Leave the music writing to Kyle and I and we will leave the lyrics to you." katie said with a smile and continued to play her favortie song.

Vanessa smiled, took a few sheets of parchment out of her bag and a quill. She sat down on the ground in front of Kyle, smiled up at him, then put the parchment on the ground, starting to write.
"I'm finishing the song we were working on earlier...." Vanessa told Katie, her tongue sticking out slightly as she began to write. The quill scratched on the parchment and when she was finished, she stood up and handed the paper to Katie.

Kyle smiled and strummed the notes on his Guitar.
"That was good, Vanessa, and you too Kattie! I like Evanescence too," he smiled, "Well... not a whole lot, but they have some good music."

Katie started to shake as Vanessa finshed the lyrics. She didn't really know if she could sing it, it will bring back to manny painful memories.
All Katie could do was nood her head and bit her lip.
"Ye....ah i....t was..... goo....d" Katie said continuing to play her guitar to try to calm down. She closed her eyes and tried to imgane her mother. Her mother sweet kind face, her blonde hair tha was just as long as Katies, and her eyes of mischeif like Katie.
She continued to play and close her eyes and she shifted her thoughts into a new song.
"Spent so many nights.....
In the deaths of my fears.....
Spends so mant nights.....
In the corner of my room.....
I just wish I could disapear......
I wish I might be more brave....." katie said as she closed her eyes even harder fighting back the tears.

I will never go through that again.." Vanessa whispered thoughtfully. She sighed and looked at Kyle.
"Something's missing." She said with her eye's gleaming with thought. Sh bit her lip and tried to think of something more.

Kyle thought for a long moment. He had no idea.
"I-I know it's missing...missing something," he said quietly, "B-But I can't put my finger on it,"
He thought longer, absentmindedly strumming on the strings of his guitar. It was hard for Kyle to realize things... it took him awhile everytime. But it was weird, he was a pro with music, he should get this!

"Maybe it isn't missing anything, it just feels that way because, the syllables are off. But, that wouldn't be the reason would it?" Vanessa asked as she took Kyle's guitar, she held it, then started to strum. It was different than her piano, but it was the nearest instrument that she could play.

kyle gladly held over his Guitar to Vanessa, watching her strum the strings, her eyes closed. He smiled at her awkward play. The plae light from the stars and moon made her dark hair shine, he felt a strange flop in his stomach that he was sure didn't have anything to do with dinner.
"What do ya think?" he asked her, getting more comfortable around the two.

Katie smiled as Kyle play the music. She watied patiently for her music back that Vanessa was looking over. She thought that Vanessa had a better talen than she did for music and writing. Katie sighed and she started to play her guitar yet again. She sang a song softly as Vanessa was working.

Kelsey sighed as she sat in her bed, the bow of her Violin swaying across the strings. The girl next to her laying her bed sat up suddenly yelling at her to shut up so she could sleep. Kelsey angrily put her Violin away and put on her favorite heavey cloak. Grabbing her Violin, she walked out of the dorm. She had to find a place where she could play and not be interupted. Might as well go to the courtyard, she thought, at least it's quiet. Cold but quiet.
She quietly ran down the dark stairway to avoid teachers. She opened the two double doors and slipped outside. A rush of cold air rushed to great her as she closed the doors. Music was coming from the courtyard so she followed the sounds. Three kids sat on a bench, two with guitars and one holding music. She recognized the boy to be Kyle, the girls she didn't know.
"Hey Kyle," she waved, walking over to them. She smiled at the two girls, "I'm Kelsey, who are you guys?"

Katie noticed a girl walk up to them and she smiled warmly at her and continued to play her guitar.
"Hello I am Katie Davenport a first year Gryffindor. Its nice to meet you Kelsey. But it always nice to meet new people." Katie said smiling. She was once again being her talktive self.

Kyle only smiled at Kelsey and then went back to his music. After a few moments of plucks on the guitar string her looked back at Kelsey.

Vanessa handed the lyrics back to Katie and laid down on the cold hard stone floor. She looked up into the sky, raised her hand and traced the outline of the stars above. When Kelsey arrived Vanessa bit her lip. She had seen Kelsey around with Jordan a bit, and Vanessa didn't like Jordan. so this made her wonder if she would like Kelsey.
All Vanessa did was smile slightly at Kelsey before looking back up at the stars, still tracing them. She had no intention of telling Kelsey her name nor year, Kyle or Katie could tell her that.
