A breath escaped the fifth years lips as she tried not to fall asleep. She had propped her head up by her arm and was looking down at the book in front of her with distain. She couldn't finish this essay in so short a time! It was almost noon and she had to get to class (which was where the essay was due) in two hours! And on top of it all, she wasn't even half way done! She had to stay awake. The words were even starting to spin...
Amelia awoke with a start. What time was it? Panicking, Amelia looked about the Student Lounge frantically looking for a clock. It was only a few minutes. Relief swept over her. Shaking her head, trying to rid her mind of the foggy feeling of tiredness, Amelia looked down at her essay and sighed. She had to do this!
So there she was, sitting in the empty student lounge, during lunch, with her stomach growling, doing homework. And that's what she was doing when somone entered the lounge...

"Blasted....little....horrible....twit..." Caitlin muttered under her breath as she got down on her stomach and looked underneath the table in the library. How could she lose her book? Actually, the real question would be how could she not lose her book? Where had she put it? Oh, where in the bloody hell was it? Caitlin sat up and put her arms around her legs, letting her chin rest on her knees. She closed her eyes, retracing her steps. Where had she gone before the library? Think, Caitlin, think. Slowly it came to her. The Student Lounge. She jumped to her feet and ran out of the library toward the Student Lounge. She was fuming, but at herself. She only had reason to be mad at herself. She could be mad at the book, but what would that accomplish?
She reached the Student Lounge and pushed open the door, not wasting any time to plopping onto the ground and searching underneath every couch and armchair. No book. She stood up and surveyed the room, taking in the chess tables, the bookshelves, and the coffee tables. And that's when she saw it. Caitlin pounced. Literally. She pounced on the table; "Gotcha!" She pulled the book off the table and held it close to her chest. She was now well aware that people were staring at her. She kind of grinned and sat down on an empty arm chair, opening the book and pretending to read - ignoring the red creeping up to her cheeks. After a couple of minutes passed Caitlin asked; "Are they done staring yet?" She knew there was someone sitting near her.

Amelia stared at the parchment, intense concentration on her face. The words blurred for a second and then cleared. Blurry, clear, blurry, clear. Amelia shook her head, desperate for some way to stay awake. Blinking furiously, Amelia sighed. She took up her quill and wrote a few words. Then a sentence and then two. Sudden hope spread through her. She may be able to finish this after all! A smile spread on her lips. Finally! A paragraph done. Thank God she was a writer! Writing fast was one of the only skills she felt she had.
She was on a roll! There was a little more than half done when someone suddenly raced into the room. Amelia tried to ignore the person, not looking up from her poorly written essay. Angry mumbling came from underneath the couch. Amelia's curiosity and annoyance finally got the best of her and she glanced once at the loudest person in the lounge. The girl laid on her stomach, looking underneath the couch. She seemed to be looking for something and was rather angry about it. Amelia's eyebrow raised at the sight, but she shook her head and went back to her essay.
Suddenly the girl pounced onto the table where Amelia was busily writing. The table shook underneath the girl and caused Amelia's hand to slip and get ink all over her essay. Amelia sighed, fully annoyed by now. She looked up at the girl, glaring and realized it was Caitlin. Amelia sighed again, staring at Caitlin with annoyance. Caitlin looked around, finally aware of all the stares and, grinning with embarrassment, sat down next to Amelia. Obviously, she hadn't realized it was Amelia yet. Must have been a bit preoccupied with her quest for the book.
She sat down in a huff, covering her face. Amelia, amused by now, turned a bit and smiled, waiting for Caitlin to notice it was her. Finally she whispered if they had stopped staring. Amelia glanced about the room and smiled. The other three students had gone back to their studying. She looked back at Caitlin and nodded.
"Yes, Catty, they decided that you weren't amusing any longer and went back to studying. Studying is a bit more fun than watching you blush. Though, I am rather amused..."
