Drew climbed out of his four-poster in the early afternoon on Saturday. He yawned and stressed before ruffling his hair (his favorite morning ritual). He then pulled out his clothes from the pile of clean ones in his dresser drawer and quickly pulled them on. His blue jeans where slightly baggy and his black short sleeved top was just a little baggy, but not horrendous. It was just the right style for Drew. He was found of having slightly bigger clothes than normal. It made him feel like he was still somewhat into the fashion scene, even though he didn't know what the fashion's scene latest style was. For him, he was the fashion scene, a true male trend-starter, but in reality he wasn't setting in trends, he just thought he was. He considered himself to be a pretty popular guy, whether or not he actually was. Stryder had even fancied calling him a ladies man, which was a bit more apparent than his popularity. Drew would always tell his friends, I can't help it if I'm cuter than you and all the girls love me. Really Drew just needed to get over himself, but he was fine with who he was and as of yet it had not come back to bite him in the bum. Of course he really wasn't sure how long that would last.
As Drew stretched one last time he cracked his neck and headed out of the dorm room and off to the student lounge. He didn't have any homework to do, but he found it to be a pretty good place to do a bit of singing if it were empty. It would be interesting to see since it was early afternoon. He enjoyed singing though. Just as he did most sports. As he made his way through the corridors he had to do a quick pivot around a few students as he turned corners. It was obviously a nice day outside, because it seemed that everyone in Hogwarts was flocking toward the doors. If that were the case than he was free to sing his heart out in the student lounge. If not than he would pull out a good book and read for a bit. His reading times had been severely cut in half with all the great weather Hogwarts was getting. He knew he should devote more time to reading, but he liked sports way too much to do a lot of reading. It was the reason he wasn't in Ravenclaw. He liked knowledge, but reading wasn't his thing. He preferred action and adventure in his life as opposed to action and adventure in someone else's life.
With that thought Drew pulled open the door and jumped into the student lounge. He must have thought the place was empty. He must have thought that he was going to be the only person indoors on such a beautiful day, but in was wrong. Inside the room he flushed slightly at the stares of angered students. He just shrugged, smiled, and politely waved. He wasn't much for apologizing unless he felt it really would make a difference. He knew that in this case he would probably just make most of them angry if he spoke. Instead he just sauntered off to the back room and grabbed a book labeled Dueling Spells and sat down in a chair and started to read. It was interesting, but boring. It wasn't long before he started glancing around the room. Each time he rested on another student in the room and thought up a dueling spell to use on them. He smiled and silently chuckled to himself after each thought. Then his eyes fell on a familiar face and he slapped the book closed and threw it on the chair beside him. Getting up quickly he crossed the room in what appeared to be three steps until he was standing just next to the table Leah was sitting at. "Hey, what are you up to?"
((It's not very good. I'm sorry about that and I hope you don't mind that I already placed you in the room. i was just getting tired of writing posts where I'm the first to show up. If it's a problem or you don't like the post let me know and I'll come up with something different.))

Leah was usually a late sleeper but today was different. Leah woke up and a rather early time to her. She tried to roll over to go back to sleep but she couldn't. She sat up in bed and stretched her arms. Leah yawned and got up to pick out her clothes for today. She picked out a blue t-shirt and some comfortable blue jeans and got dressed. She went to the bathroom and brushed her shining black hair until she could run the thinnest part of a comb through it easily. She usually didn't sing, but today she felt like it. She brushed her pure white teeth and skipped through the deserted corridors. She went up to a window and saw that the grounds were packed. Leah was humming a lullaby that she would sing to her baby brother at home. She finally reached the student lounge. She grabbed a chair and sat at a table while starting to actually sing the words to the lullaby. The student lounge was totally empty, so it was safe to sing it a little louder. Leah didn't hear the opening of the door and was still singing while Andrew, a friend of hers walked in. She heard him say something and she suddenly stopped. "I'm not really doing anything, what are you up to?" Leah asked while thinking of something else to say. " The grounds are packed aren't they." Leah said while watching Andrew pull up a chair. " Do you play Quidditch?" Leah asked while resting up head on her hand. Leah looked to see that he was reading the dueling spells book. Leah looked down and saw a couple of big rats run around the room. Leah stuck her feet up and looked horrified. She hated rats. She was also scared of the to. "Umm, huge rats! Really huge rats!" Leah said while looking at them run everywhere in sight. She was to scared to move so she hoped Andrew would kill them if he was such a 'ladies man' like everyone says. (( It's alright, it's longer than mine. And it's ok I get tired of being the first one in a room to. ))

Drew shrugged as he took a seat. "Not much of anything today. Had a good sleep that's about it. So what were you singing? I didn't recognize it and I must say I recognize a lot of songs when I heard them being sung," he said with a smile. He ran a hand through his hair and ruffled it slightly in attempt to be cute. Why he always did that he didn't know, but for some reason he thought it made an impression on others. It probably did, but probably not the impression he wanted. "Yeah the grounds are pretty packed this afternoon. It seems everyone wants to be outside on such a beautiful day, but I was more in the mood to be outside right now, as it seems you were as well. Quidditch, I love Quidditch! I'm not very good though. I just don't have very good skills on a broomstick, I think that comes from being a muggle born, but if you ask me how good I am at soccer or baseball or my favorite sport basketball than I'd tell you I'm awesome! Although I might be boasting just a bit in my favor, but hey I think I'm good and so I guess that's all that matters."
Drew smiled, but it faded suddenly as Leah seemed to freak out. She said something about rats and Drew looked around. Sure enough there were a couple rats running through the student lounge. He smiled again. They were domestic rats. Hogwart's was a clean school, after all, the hundreds of house elves that took care of the school made sure of this. These rats probably belonged to a student who had lost them. He looked at Leah who seemed to be ready to take of running out of the school. "Don't worry about them, they won't harm you. They probably belong to a student, but if you really want me to..." Drew started, but stopped. He just shrugged and stood up pulling out his wand. Saying a quick spell he immobilized the rats and he quickly moved them out of the room and back into the corridor so whoever owned them would eventually find them running around out there. He shut the door quickly behind himself and turned back to Leah to see how she had taken his solution to the problem.

Andrew put the rats in the corridor and Leah calmed down. " Oh thank you so much! I just hate rats, if they're the street rats, they could carry diseases and.. ugh! Sorry about my freak out though." Leah said with a smile. To her, this guy was cute and hoped that she looked pretty to him. Leah tucked her shining black hair behind her ears and rested her chin on her hands once again. "You're right, they probably are somebody's rats." Leah said while stretching. " I was singing a lullaby that I used to sing to my baby brother Kyle." Leah said flipping her hair back again.
(( Sorry it's so so short, I couldn't think of anything else to write.))

Drew just shrugged as he ran a hand through his hair. "Rats aren't all bad. They're needed in society. Some carry diseases, but some don't. Just remember that they're just as afraid of you as you are of them. They won't hurt you unless you do something to warrant an attack," he said with a bit of a smile. Rats were necessary to society. Every being and animal on the planet was necessary to the survival of another. It was like if the fly was completely destroyed, then the spider would border on starvation since they don't have flies getting trapped in their webs. Sometimes girls were just so scared of what they didn't understand that they freaked out before realizing that they shouldn't be afraid of something. However, he knew that some things were just hard to accept for them.
He nodded when she said she was singing a lullaby. He thought that's what it sounded like. "Well for what it's worth you have a great voice," Drew said with a shrug and a small smile.

" I guess you're right. But I get it from my mom, when she sees even a tiny white mouse, she jumps onto a counter and screams her head of." Leah said while laughing. Leah started twirling a strand of her gleaming black hair with her finger. " Do you know how to do the tickling charm? Watch what happens. Rictusempra." Leah said while pointing her wand to Andrew. It always tickled her, and not the person she wanted to tickle. Leah started laughing uncontrollably. " Make.. It... Stop!" Leah said between laughs. She was laughing so hard she couldn't really breath. Leah rolled onto the floor and started rolling and laughing." Do... Something!" Leah said while laughing. Her stomach muscles where really hurting her now. She waited for Andrew to do something so she could actually breath.
Leah started banging her head on the floor and laughed and acedentally snorted. Tears started coming out of her eyes. She wasn't sad, but that's how much she was tickling. " Please!" Leah said while looking at Andrew and of course, laughing.

Drew nodded his head at Leah's explanation of why she didn't like rats. Honestly, girls really needed to learn to be braver. He silenced his thoughts though. Just because he was brave didn't mean that everyone else was. After all he knew plenty of guys that were afraid of rats and mice as well. He just never understood why people were like that. His fear was something big not something small. Of course sometimes he wondered if it would be better to have a fear that was more ordinary that the fear he had developed. He shrugged to himself before he looked up to find Leah's wand pointed at him. He looked at her in shock before he comprehended what she was saying. He scratched his eyebrow just as she said Rictusempra. However, he felt nothing at all. Instead he looked at Leah to find her laughing uncontrollably. He looked at her in interest as he smiled. How did she do that?
"You know that spell is supposed to work on the other person not on you," he smiled, but she was just laughing. She tried to tell him to make it stop, but Drew was a bit more amused with watching her laugh. "You got yourself into this, you can get yourself out," he laughed a bit. However, he took his wand out and waved it in the air a few times coming up with different words he knew wouldn't work. "Fickle! Nope that didn't work, ummm, what's the spell I'm looking for?" Drew said in amusement. He didn't really want to help her out just like that. It was much more entertaining for him to watch her wiggle around on the floor, where she had fallen a few seconds ago. He laughed a bit as she pleaded. He waved his wand and said, "Finite." The spell stopped at the one word that would stop all current spells. He looked down at her before getting up and offering her his hand. "Never use that spell in a duel. You'll lose if you do," he laughed.

Finally Leah stopped laughing. She took the helping hand that Andrew offered while getting her breath back. " Why didn't you help me? You saw that my wand was on the table and I was on the floor and wasn't able to get up. I couldn't breath you know." Leah said while crossing her arms and sitting on her chair again. Leah uncrossed her arm and guessed it was funny looking when she was wiggling on the floor. " Yeah, I'll defiantly lose a duel with that one. Why don't you try and do that to me with my wand? We'll she if it's just me, or my wand." Leah said while handing her wand over to him. I want to see him get out of a fit of laughter with his wand on the table. Leah imagined Andrew wiggling on the floor like Leah did. Leah giggled to herself.
"But you saw that I was holding my wand the right way. I don't know how I did that though. It's like a mystery." Leah said while still holding her wand out. I wonder if I'll need to get a new wand this summer. I don't know, but he better grab my wand. And I wonder if I look pretty to him. Hmpf.
(( Sorry it's so short))

Drew just smiled at her. "I wanted to see if you could get yourself out of your own mess. Besides, I won't always be around to help you out you know. Especially if you decided to cast such a silly spell on yourself. I don't know what you did, but that was pretty humorous. Is that only the spell that comes back at you or are their others, because if there are then you might want to think about getting anew wand, because obviously that one is not going to do you any good if you ever need to cast a spell," Drew said with a shrug as he sat back down in his seat and slouched down. He ruffled his hair quickly before sticking his wand back into his pocket. He smiled subconsciously to himself as he thought about casting the spell on her again just for the fact that it was funny watching her laughing. Drew liked watching people laugh. It gave him hope in the future. He felt that if everyone just laughed a little then things would be better. Of course he thought that about a lot of things.
Drew put his hands up defensively when she offered him her wand to cast the spell. "There is absolutely no way I'm testing that out for you. That's all I need right now to be laughed to death because a wand is malfunctioning. Of course it could be just the user, but I prefer that one remaining a mystery. Besides, what am I to do if I'm laughing on the floor and can't stop myself? Are you going to come to my rescue? If you are then aren't you trading gender roles, because I always thought it was the man that came to the rescue. You know the whole damsel in distress? Besides you are a damsel and you were in distress a few minutes ago," Drew said with a wry smile and a small chuckle. He wondered if he was crossing lines again. With the whole feminist movement going on in the world anymore, it was a wonder if Leah wouldn't get angry with him, but then again he liked getting her roweled up. He grabbed her wand anyhow and looked it over. He didn't see anything wrong with it. He held his hand out to her for her to take it. "Nah, not going to risk it. So you're a singer right? I mean, if you aren't you should really get into it. I'm trying to start a band up here at Hogwarts, but it's a slow process. Do you know anyone that plays the drums or the bass guitar?" Drew asked with interest as he looked Leah in the eye.

"Oh I know that you won't be around to help me forever, I could of done it myself if my wand was it my reach. And I was just thinking, this summer I will need to get a new wand. And why do you alway ruffle your hair like that?" Leah asked while copying him. She ran her finger through her hair and giggled. Leah put her wand on the table and leaned back. She leaned back a little to hard a landed on the floor on her back with a thud. Leah giggled again. She always laughed when she did something goofy like that. " If you try it I will come to your rescue. Hey! I'm not trading gender roles because their aren't any! It's just the way... um... well I guess there is gender roles I s'pose." Leah said while giggling at herself.
After laughing with out stopping for fifteen minutes, why on earth would you giggle alot after that. Leah didn't know why. Her hair kept on getting in her face and Leah got tired of it. " Accio ribbon." Leah said while watching her blue ribbon fly to her. She tied her hair up into a pony tail smiled. "So what do you want to do?" Leah asked shrugging. Leah started playing footsie with Andrew. "Wanna play footsie?" Leah said while giggling. Leah peeked under the table to see if he was playing. "Come on, let's play footsie!" Leah said while giggling once again.

"Yeah, you might want to buy a new wand. I don't expect that wand is a very good one. Of course, I could be completely wrong. It could be the best wand in the world and the user is the one causing all the problems. I don't ruffle my hair, I just...I don't know. I just do it. Yeah, there are gender roles and don't forget it," Drew smiled. He watched with a bit of amazement as Leah leaned back in her chair and ended up on the floor. He fought back the laugh. This girl was pretty crazy. So far she had spent more time on the floor than she had actually in the chair, but then again, maybe she enjoyed falling on the ground more than he did. He just sat back and watched her. She was laughing again. It was somewhat contagious. He broke out into laughter a bit himself.
"Accio, huh? That's a pretty complicated spell for a third year. You must have studied pretty hard to get that down. I haven't even attempted it myself, because I know it's a hard spell. That and I'm not one for doing much practicing. If I don't get it on the first few tries, I just kind of stop for a while and come back to it later, hoping that I'll be better. Works for some things, not for others. Anyway, ah..."Drew said as he felt her foot against his. He wasn't much of a footsie guy, especially since he was more of a flirt than an actual relationship guy. He didn't want to get bogged down by girls. He just wanted to flirt with them. Maybe go on a date or two, but not actually settle into a long term relationship. That just wasn't who he was. He smiled and laughed anyway, just before he jumped up from the table and grabbed a pillow from one of the chairs. He threw it at her and smiled as it hit her. This was more of his thing. He laughed loudly as he waited for a response. He wondered if she'd take to his different kind of flirting, if she didn't it wasn't worth it.

"Accio isn't really a hard spell. I mean, my dad was an auror and taught me a couple things or two." Leah said while she stopped playing footsie. Then Andrew threw a pillow at her. Leah grabbed a pillow and threw it at him. Leah giggled loudly, and they got into a pillow fight. Leah slid behind a couch to dodge a pillow thrown at her. Two Slytherins walked in and Leah dropped her pillow. Leah smiled a fake smile and waved nervously. The Slytherins left and Leah whacked Andrew on the head. "This is fun, I never get into pillow fights at home!" Leah said ducking.
Leah was out of breath and called time out. Leah caught her breath and jumped back into action. "Wait, there's more pillows in the Gryffindor common room... Should we go there or stay here?" Leah asked. Leah plopped herself on a couch and waited for Andrew to reply.

Drew smiled and laughed during the pillow war. Leah had gotten him a couple times, but Drew was more interested in just throwing pillows at her than anything else. Things were getting pretty rowdy in there, especially when two Slytherins entered and gave them a hostile look. Drew just laughed. Slytherins were no fun at all. They were only concerned with being mean and rude than they were about having fun. At one point Leah called a time out, but Drew just laughed. Time-outs didn't exist in war. He threw a pillow her way anyway. "All's fair in love and war!" Drew shouted as he threw a pillow at her. It was how he lived. Breaking time-out was fair, because in reality everything was fair even if you were cheating a bit. He laughed away this thought before he ran out of pillows. He looked around him. Pillows were everywhere, but no matter where he went to get one Leah would have a great chance to hit him. Instead he opted to stay put. That's when he heard Leah's voice. "Nah, I'm not ready to move yet. Besides, I'm a bit exhausted. I need a breather," he said as he stood and collapsed onto the couch he had been hiding behind.
"You mentioned your dad was an auror? Is he not anymore?" Drew asked as he looked over at Leah. He realized that he didn't know anything about her. He had been in the same house and year as her for almost 3 years now and he didn't even know her father was an auror. The thought was quite perplexing for him. He was so used to asking questions about people, especially if they were girls, and it wasn't like Leah wasn't attractive or anything so why hadn't he asked her questions before? He shrugged at his own thought. He wasn't interested in relationships or anything like that, so maybe it was why he hadn't bothered to get to know her. He turned his attention fully to her and waited for her reply.

"Hey!" Leah said while laughing and threw a pillow at his head. She said while Drew collapsed on a couch and she collapsed next to him. "Yeah, he was an auror until the Hogsmeade attack. He guarding the out skirts of Hogsmeade and the death eaters came. He was trying not to let them through, but he got his head knocked hard against a wall. He was sent to St.Mungo's with multiple head injuries and he was in a coma. Now he's in St.Mungo's still.. First he woke up from his coma, and didn't remember anything. Then he remembered everything. But now he's in his coma again, and he's not waking up." Leah said while shedding a tear. She didn't like talking about her dad now. Leah wiped her tear and tried to smile, but just couldn't. She buried her head in her hands and took a few deep breaths. Leah sighed and raised her head slowly. "What should we do now?" Leah said in a quiet voice. Leah stretched and tried to forget about her father. "Do you know what the hardest part is about all this? It's not being able to be by his side, not being able to see him." Leah said. All she saw was the squiggly lines of Andrew.
She couldn't hold back her tears. She started crying. Her heart felt very hollow inside, like no one was there for her. Leah tried to wipe all her tears, but couldn't keep up with them. Finally her tears slowed a bit. Leah looked around and her vision cleared. She slowly stopped crying, but now had the hiccups. " Uh-oh hic..ups." Leah said while a hiccup interrupted her in the middle of talking. Leah held her breath for 10 seconds and the hiccups were gone. "What about you, what do your parents work as?" Leah said while looking at him.
