Jessica turned off the warm water to her shower, stepped out wrapped a towel around herself and tip toed so she wouldn't wake the others into the dorm room. Grabbing a pair of light blue hip-huggers a pink shirt with the words get back in purple letters across the chest. This wasn't her favorite shirt that she had but she really didn't care because she was also going to were a black hoodie with the words Gryffindor turning different colors every few seconds. She had made this shirt her self and was very proud of it. She walked quietly back in the bathroom slipped out of her pink and purple butterfly Pajamas and quickly changed into the outfit she had picked out. Then moving on to brushing her teeth Jessica looked in the mirror and saw how pretty her hair looked, instead of being the normal completely straight but instead it had a pretty little wave to it. Rinsing all the tooth paste out of her mouth Jessica spit it out into the since and moved on to her hair. Combing out all of the knots with her new orange red and gold brush Jessica decided to leave her hair down today. After she did her hair she stumbled out of the bathroom and into the dorm room once again to get her jewelry container and make up bag out of her trunk tip toeing back into the bathroom she quickly took out a pair of star silver dangling earrings and a silver necklace. Moving on to her last stage of getting ready Jessica pulled out liquid metallic silver eyeliner, brown mascara, and pale pink lip-gloss. After she was done putting on her make-up she looked one last time in the mirror and smiled. Yes, she had spent a little more time then she usually did getting ready but she had to admit she did look fantastic. The eyeliner seemed to make her eyes pop a little more than usual and her new lip gloss showed her perfectly round pink lips.
Jessica walked threw the common room and into the bright sun filled hall ways. Walking over to a window she saw a couple first year boys tackling each other this made Jessica fall into a fit of giggles. After a few minutes she finally pulled her eyes from the window. For some reason she found what these boys were doing quite amusing. She usually isn't the type to laugh at what other people are doing because she new they could be doing the same exact thing. Sighing slightly she continued walking down the hall heading towards the student lounge. This by far was one of her favorite places to hang out. She remembered the first time she had ever came to Hogworts, She was feeling extremely bored so she walked aimlessly around the castle for a while until she stumbled on too this place. Finally reaching her destination Jessica looked around for a familiar face but saw none. There were no other Gryffindor's in the whole room but there were a few older Ravenclaws and a tiny bit of Hufflepuff. On the down side though there were quite a few Slytherin. Rolling her eyes as she watched a Slytherin boy make a mean face towards her she walked over to a very welcoming looking chair and gratefully sat down. It was kind of a haul walking all the way from the common room to here but she wasn't complaining, it of course was her own personal choice to come and hang out in here. Picking up a book that lay on a little table next to her she read the bright yellow letters that were on the cover. Charms Threw the Ages she read. This was her favorite subject that she could take at Hogworts and was delighted that this book was over by her. She shifted in her seat so she was more comfortable and began to read about how some of the spells were made and who invented them she was already on page 15 when a kind voice disrupted her reading.

Ivy had decided to work in the Student Lounge today. Usually she would work in the library or the Hufflepuff Common Room, but it was quite early in the morning and so it shouldn't be too busy in the Student Lounge. The Student Lounge was a comfortable place to work in - yes the chairs were slightly worn but it was overall a nice place to be. In the mornings. Later on it got too busy for Ivy who generally preferred a quiet environment which wasn't too quiet. Where she could find her own corner at least, without strangers being all around her. Ivy laid out her Charms books on a small table in the room, and, her quill and inkpot coming out of her bag, she pulled up a wooden chair and began to fill the two rolls of parchment with writing. About half an hour later she smiled as a result of having finished, rolling up the pieces of parchment that contained her Charms essay. She secured them using a piece of the string she carried in her bag for that exact purpose, severing it off with her wand. She tucked the finished essay inside her bag and looked inside for some more homework it was possible to do. The journal she used to record the homework she had to do testified she had a Divination essay due in two days time. Ivy searched around in her bag again; she had all the necessary blank parchment, and her notes, but no Divination textbook. That textbook was indispensable in that it allowed her to waffle on about things she had no clue about, for essays where quantity rather than quality was the main requirement imposed. She wouldn’t be able to do that homework without it.
Ivy left her bag where it was, clearing away everything to leave just her inkpot, quill and the supplemental Charms textbook she had borrowed from the library to help her with her essay were the only things left on the surface she had been working on. Her bag she left tucked away carefully under the small table so nobody could trip up over it; the outcome would not be good for either party. She’d made a good start on her homework already and it would be nice if she could contrive to get the Divination done and spend more of the weekend with her friends. It took a quick trip to and from the Hufflepuff Common Room to return with her Divination textbook, but Ivy found much had changed as regarded her own quiet working space. She’d hardly noticed the Lounge steadily filling up as she was working on her Charms, but now she glanced warily at the Slytherin contingent which was taking up a surprisingly large part of the room. She’d had a number of bad encounters and mistrusted them naturally now. Most of these were younger anyhow and surely wouldn’t pose a problem, though Ivy was slightly quizzical at the number of them here – from what she had gathered they should consider it beneath them. But perhaps the Slytherin Common Room was not the friendliest place on Earth for younger people; despite all the fuss made about their ‘blood’.
The greatest change, though, was that another girl had taken up residence in Ivy’s spot. Ivy’s own chair seemed to now be in use elsewhere by a Ravenclaw boy who looked a little older than her. Ivy looked back to the girl, whose distinctive sweater proudly proclaimed to be owned by one of the noble house of Gryffindor. Seeing that she appeared engrossed in the Charms book Ivy currently had on loan from the school library, Ivy drew up a cushioned upright chair that was a little heavy and smiled at the girl, thinking she didn’t look too much younger than herself. Ivy started to bring out the rest of her Divination things, and then, trying to tuck the chair in to enable her to start to work comfortably and write legibly, she found it wouldn’t go in the space very well. There were definitely disadvantages to the furniture in here being portable. She would have to move the heavy chair a little to the right, but… “Hello,” Ivy said to the girl quietly, reluctant to disturb her from her reading – even though it was of a book Ivy herself was currently supposed to be responsible for. “Would you mind terribly just budging up a teeny bit? Only at the moment it’s just a little… difficult. To work I mean.” Ivy supplemented, looking at the girl hopefully and offering her an apologetic smile.

Jessica heard someone sit down but was too engrossed to look up. A few minutes later though the person said in a kind voice asking her to move a bit. Looking up she saw how little room the girl had and said instantly while scooting her big chair a little to the left so the girl had more room "Oh, I am sorry I didn't realize how much room I was taking up." As Jessica moved the chair she realized how heavy they were. It was kind of difficult moving them at least she didn't have to move to far though. Picking the book up she thought to herself out loud "I wonder whose book this is its quit interesting though" Jessica hoped the girl new who it belonged to even though she enjoyed reading it she felt like she was steeling. At least it was a charms book and not a potions or care of magical creatures' book. She didn't care for those subjects, potions she just peer hated because of the teacher. He was very unfair and treated them horribly compared to the Slytherin. She had nothing against the teacher of care of magical creatures though; she just didn't like the animals he picked out. They were either to boring or too dangerous the only class she remembered enjoying was when they studied unicorns. They were so gentle and pretty it was like you were in another world when you were by them. Shacking her head slightly Jessica looked back up to the girl holding out her hand she said "Hi I'm Jessica Rose Gryffindor third year." Jessica looked up back at the cloak and saw it was almost noon. Looking back at the girl Jessica waited patiently for a response (Sorry it is so short )

Ivy smiled gratefully as the girl moved up obligingly, and tucked her own chair in properly, dipping her quill in her ink as she pondered the homework task, before expressing her gratitude: "Thanks ever so much. It's just the layout of the room to get round." She gave the other girl a direct smile and bent her head over her work, murmuring the title of the essay she was writing down to herself in an attempt to concentrate. It was harder when someone she didn't know was sitting so nearby - had it been one of her friend, she could have maintained silence while she worked; but having spoken to the girl whom she didn't know she felt an impulse that she was obliged to have some sort of conversation with her. Ivy frowned and, having looked through the relevant pages of the Divination textbook a few times, had just finished scribing her third painfully extracted sentence to complete the introduction to the essay when the other girl spoke. Ivy wasn't entirely sure whether she was being addressed, but she should most likely say something so as not to appear rude and perhaps later having done so would mean she was able to concetrate on her work; as she had been trying to decide how to structure her second paragraph, she had been made self-concious enough to not press her pencil against her chin in thought - something she did almost without realising when she was thinking hard about a piece of work. Ivy looked up from her work at the girl and smiled; it seemed she too was interested in Charms.
"It's my book, actually," she said, and then feeling the need to clarify further: "Well no, not mine as such; I borrowed it from the school library. I was using it for my Charms homework." Ivy considered for a small moment of indecision whether to say the final sentence that had come to mind - she was generally a shy person whose words were usually carefully weighted, and she didn't want to enter into too much of a conversation with someone she didn't know when she was supposed to be working - but eventually decided on going ahead anyway. It was her who had spoken first to the other girl. "Unfortunately I've finished that now which means I don't have an excuse to put off Divination." She smiled at the other girl as best she could - she tried to appear friendly and unthreatening whenever she could, and smiles were good - and then checked herself, trying to concentrate on what to put next. While she had broken eye contact, she forgot to look away and so was gazing at the other girl as though deep in thought. She gave a small start when the Gryffindor girl started talking again, this time introducing herself as Jessica. Ivy smiled, replying, "I'm Ivy... Tunstall." She shook the proferred hand lightly, although shaking hands was usually something she did only to greet adults she didn't know so well - she wasn't much accustomed to it from her peers. "Hufflepuff... um, fourth year. Yup." she added with a reassuring smile to indicate she wasn't feeling quite as awkward as she knew she currently sounded.

Jessica watched slightly as the girl wrote a couple sentences down on her parchment while she waited for an answer. Though she was only half watching, she was trying to think of every person she new that loved charms. She didn't think that it was someone younger than her because it was actually some quite difficult spells that even she would have a hard time with.
Charms is and always was one of her easiest and favorite classes even though Transfiguration was up there too. Really the only class she didn't care too much for was Care of Magical Creatures, she didn't have anything against the teacher of course she just didn't like the animals they studied. They were either too boring or too dangerous he could never seem to find that happy middle. The only class she really enjoyed was when they studied unicorns. They were so pretty and so magical that whenever you were by them you felt like you were in another world.
Jessica though was pulled out of her own thoughts though when she heard the girl explain the book was hers. She felt her cheeks grow hot and immediately said "Oh, I am so sorry I just saw the book sitting there and picked it up….I mean it is not like I steal or anything it is just I was going to read it and…." Lost of words Jessica gave up and sat a little lower in her chair. Great she thought to herself now this girl is going to think I am a stealer. That’s just what I need a Prefect mad at me. Why do I always have to become tong tied when I am embarrassed she thought once again desperately to herself?
Realizing she was still holding on to this girls book Jessica quickly set it on the table and said sincerely "I sorry I just love charms and saw the book laying there so I picked it up and started to read it, I hope it didn't cause you too much trouble." Jessica looked up at the clock but was startled when her little black and white kitten Smokey jumped on her lap. Looking down quickly to see what it was Jessica say her kittens big blue eyes and new she had just came out of the dungeons. She always had this happy fun crazy look in her eyes when she did. Smokey loved to chase the rats that scampered this way and that way in the dungeons. Rolling her eyes slightly she turned back to the girl and said " and this is my very hyper kitten Smokey" . Glade to have the subject changed Jessica absentmindedly twirled a piece of her brown hair waiting for a response.

((By the way, I don't actually role-play Ivy as a Prefect; that's just up because I'm a staff-member. So Jessica needn't worry about that - it's only next year that I'll be role-playing Ivy as a prefect. ) Ivy could hardly conceal her astonishment at how quickly the other girl seemed to become uncomfortable at Ivy's having mentioned that she was currently in custody of the other book. It was hardly a problem for her to have picked it up - Ivy had left it there for a little while after all without expecting anyone to walk off with it, and no one had walked off with it. It was a school book; anyone was welcome to read it as long as they didn't get her in trouble if she couldn't find it again. Ivy was rather surprised that the girl who had previously seemed pretty confident was now apparently faltering and at a loss for words. Ivy wasn't used to reassuring younger students; she was friends with Sadie, for sure, but that was hardly something which involved reassuring her that Ivy wasn't fed up with her. She smiled at the girl who still looked embarrased and replied, "No, no, it's fine, really. You're welcome to read it. I'm going to have to take it back to the library later on today and it's not as if it's from the Restricted Section or anything... so you could borrow it too if you're interested in Charms." Ivy pushed the book which the other girl... Jessica... had put down on the table back across to indicate her sincerity, and then smiled as a black and white kitten made its way into Jessica's lap. It did actually look very sweet; she wondered if that was deception or not. Cats could be very deceptive on occasion as far as their presentation of their character went. Ivy smiled directly at the other girl as the kitten was introduced to her. "Hello Smokey then," she replied, adding, "You have a very cute kitten in that case." Ivy looked over the kitten for a moment before commenting, "Though probably still bigger than Gilbert. Gilbert's my owl, but he's a small owl. Small owls don't tend to grow any taller than 6 inches." Ivy smiled at the girl before writing down another sentence for her Divination homework; she was attempting to be polite by making some conversation. "Do you like animals in general?" she asked. "I don't actually take Care of Magical Creatures or anything," she said, writing down what seeing an acorn in a crystal ball meant. "And do you have any idea why crystal balls go cloudy?" she asked, still trying to concentrate on the task at hand and so the question she had in her mind coming out since she was trying to make conversation at the same time. Ivy looked up at the girl with a questioning look in her eyes and made eye contact as she waited for a response.
