Some people found jeans cut short fashionable. Maybe they actually were too. Lacey wasn’t entirely sure because her knowledge of fashion was dreadfully lacking. In her case jeans cut short were rather the sign of not having overly much money to just spend it on everything. But she did enjoy wearing shorts made of old jeans during summer. But right now it was too cold to dress into shorts already. Hogwarts castle always got chilly unless you were just at some fireplace. But her favorite pair of jeans had been a very bad condition so she still had been forced to cut of the leg-parts of those off. The leg parts of those pants now reached the point just below her knees where Lacey had managed to fix the edge to presentable. Needlework was not the best pastime in her opinion but Lacey was skilled enough so she had managed. Maybe not the most fashionable sight but it looked good enough for her. Especially if she just wanted to lounge a little bit and relax.
Quickly pulling on thick yellow socks and a yellow sweater with a star on it Lacey spent a couple of minutes looking for a pair of shoes. Finally managing to find a pair of worn running-shoes that should be thrown away soon enough she decided to wear them. Grabbing her bag that had a book Lacey was currently reading, her notebook and coloring pencils in it Lacey didn’t stay in her dormitory for longer. Jogging out of her common room Lacey went to the Student Lounge through the shortest way she knew. Luckily the lounge was close. There were some students in the room but not overly many Lacey was pleased to discover. She could enjoy herself a little bit here. Read a little, perhaps sketch some if she felt like it and got some inspiration. She had always had trouble drawing people’s faces so perhaps she could practice a little on real life models in the Student Lounge. But that was for later. Right now Lacey just went to a couch near the fireplace and curled her legs under herself.
A little bit of rummaging in her bag brought out a bobble and two hair-pins and Lacey gathered her hair together with one hand. Quickly twisting her hair into a bun Lacey attached the bun together with the white bobble and then used the two pins that didn’t really match each other to make sure that the shorter strands of hair that didn’t reach the bun would stay out of her face too. pushing her shoes off again because she didn’t want to put shoes on the couch Lacey settled down comfortable. Placing one of her hands between the backrest of the couch and her cheek she opened the book she had brought along and after finding where she had stopped the last time started to read eating a delicious pear she had taken along from dinner at the same time.

Grace had just gotten out of class. It was her last class. She ran out of the class room, into the hall and jumped with glee. "Yes, class is over!" She was going to go down to the Student Lounge to try and make some friends. Although she was shy, she wanted to have friends. She ran into her Common Room, went into her dormitory and threw her bag down by her bed. She petted her kitten who rested peacefully on the bed and was protected by some sort of barrier thing. Her kitten never really leaved the area. It was weird. There really was no barrier. She does have a pretty big crate though that she sometimes stays in. She had food, water and toys. If Grace had time, she would come and play with her for about a minute, then rush off to class. She loves Cupcake! She brushed her hair and wished she could bring Cupcake with her. She sighed and then, pinned the bang-like part of her hair back with a clip. "This looks presentable," she thought to herself. Grace then got her bag, her robe and a book just in case and practically ran down the corridors to the Lounge, and then walked in.
After Grace walked in, she scanned the room for a chair or a desk. Luckily, she found a regular, muggle-looking desk. She sat down and relaxed. She then, realized that the seat was really, really soft. And, the desk was made of Mahogany. Maybe it's not your regular muggle-looking desk. But, usually mahogany scratches easily. This one, didn't. It was probably protected by some sort of scratch barrier. She pulled out some parchment and a quill and began working on her Transfiguration Essay. She liked doing some homework, but not all. She took off her robe to reveal a pink sweater, a metallic heart chain necklace and, a beige, plaid school-girl skirt. Grace was almost done with her essay. She usually finished half of her work in class. She loved learning more about this stuff than regular, muggle stuff. She finally got done and put her parchment away. She then spotted another, older looking Hufflepuff. Grace smiled and looked down. The fire was dying down. It soon grew a bit chillier, so she put her robe back on. This, was smart. She put her quill away and then went for her ink bottle. Just then, it tipped and spilled all over the carpet and Grace. She sighed and looked for something to wipe it up with.

Lacey was leaning her cheek on her arm. It was just the right position to keep her head in so that her neck didn’t get tired. But it only took a matter of minutes before her hand started to ache from the uncomfortable position. Especially the muscles in her wrist started to protest against this. Sighing Lacey raised her head again and tried to find a new comfortable position. Not that it was an easy task. Either her legs were too long or her body too clumsy but it actually seemed rather impossible. Not being able to settle down on the couch comfortably disrupted Lacey’s reading too. And it was getting chillier in the room. Not so much that Lacey would have wanted a warmer jacket to have on her shoulders. But enough to notice. Lacey looked towards the fireplace to see if she could start up the fire again just in time to see a younger Hufflepuff have a little bit of an accident. Spilling in had happened to Lacey on more than occasion too so she knew how annoying it was. “Here, let me help you with that.” Lacey placed her book on the couch and jumped to her feet while smiling at the younger girl fondly. The ink had gotten onto the floor and the quicker it was cleaned up the easier it would be. “We better clean the carpet up before Filch sees it.” As Lacey spoke she pulled out her wand and pointed it to the carpet. Concentrating on the spell she had in mind she had to cast it four times but after the last spell the carpet was as clean as ever. Maybe even cleaner. “I’m not sure if I can handle it on clothes too. But I’m sure the house elves can get rid of the ink-stains. I have had this kind of an accident sometimes too.” Lacey smiled at the younger Hufflepuff and sat down on the couch once again only to see that she had lost the place where she had been reading at in her book. ((OOC: I'm terribly sorry for the late reply. ))

((OOC: It's perfectly fine!)) Grace looked up too see a older looking Hufflepuff talking to her. She had cast a spell on the spil and it disappeared. "Wow, thanks!" Grace said shyly. "I guess the house elves could..." Grace replied hesitantly. She didn't exactly like the whole fact of house elves, but she lingered with it. "Thanks for helping me, I was quite embarresed," she said blushing a little. She didn't like how the ink just suddenly spilled upon her. Grace started thinking of a topic to start a conversation. She pondered for a moment. "So," she said starting to strike up a conversation. "Do you have a pet?" Grace loved animals. She really did. She wanted to be a vegetarian, but she just couldn't give up meat. It was too addicting. Grace took her robe, sopping with ink off. She brushed off her skirt and put her long hair behind her ears. ((OOC: Terribly sorry it's short. I ran out of inspiration... ))

The girl seemed a bit emabarrased for the spoilt ink. Lacey smiled at her openly wishing she could make the younger girl feel a bit more at ease. Closing her book and placing it next to her Lacey turned her hands and showed her palms and fingers to Grace. Drawing with ink and pencils and pains meant that Lacey always seemed to have some splash of color on her fingers. It looked a bit sloppy perhaps at first glance but some of the colors couldn’t be washed off with water so Lacey just had to live with it because under no conditions would she give up painting and drawing. “I know the house elves can get the ink off. They often clean my things. I like to draw and that means that I almost regularly drop something all over myself. I have pretty much been forced to learn that spell to clean up the messes I sometimes create. It wasn’t a big deal. I know how uncomfortable such accidents can be. But luckily there doesn’t seem to be any Slytherin around who would most likely make a big deal out of it. I really don’t understand the way of thinking of that house.”
Lacey smiled at the younger girl shifting herself slightly to make more room onto the couch. “You can sit down if you wish. And no, I don’t have a pet unfortunately. I’m not really able to afford one right now. I would really wish to have one but at the same time I kind of don’t know which pet I would like. There are so many awesome animals and I’m not sure at all I would be able to pick only one. Especially now that I know about all the different wizarding pets like owls and toads and puffskins too. What about you yourself? I'm Lacey by the way.”
