With her puzzle sprawled out all across the table, Elyce sat with her head in her hands. She'd been working on this blasted puzzle for almost two hours and hadn't made as much progress as she'd hoped. In the middle of this frustrating mess was exactly the place Elyce didn't want to be this afternoon.
Her mother had sent her the puzzle not too long ago. It had been a late Christmas present. It depicted her favorite Quidditch team, the Chudley Cannons. She didn't think that it would be this hard, but she figured, with all of its 2,500 pieces it was kind of hard.
Part of her wanted to give it up, call it quits, throw in the towel, but then, she knew that her mother would love to know that she finished it, and that she had fun in the process. She decided to keep at it. Elyce took a deep breath, pushed her unkempt hair out of her face and picked up what appeared to be a piece of one of the players uniforms. She smiled as she found the spot where it fit in perfect.

Dana had her nose buried in a book. She had forced herself to study transfiguration first as that was Dana’s worst subject that would be coming up tomorrow. But now that was all done and settled and Dana could happily curl up with a book about Charms. Flipping the book open Dana smiled at the unique scent that always seemed to come with old books. And this one was certainly old. Which made the book all the more intriguing. Meredith had owled it to Dana for which Dana was grateful. Considering the fact that Dana had read books Meredith sent her since the beginning of her 1st year, she could be certain that the books she received were all either interesting or useful for her. Even if it did mean she always returned home with about 30 books more than when she came to school just because she couldn’t stand to depart with some of her books. Dana’s had barely started to scan the front page when she was disrupted. For a few moments Dana eyed the third and 2nd years who had rushed into the common room and were now happily preparing to start practicing. She would never be able to concentrate now, especially if she might also have to be watchful of flying furniture. Dana toyed with the idea of playing a big annoyed prefect – according to some rumors she had heard from amused friends, as she grew older she also became scarier – but discarded it. She’d rather the younger students practiced here than somewhere random over the school where they might annoy some professor. Standing Dana ran up to her dormitory for a moment pulling on a pair of white tennis-shoes and a white silk-blouse that she didn’t bother to button up over her white top. For a moment Dana hesitated as she eyed her jeans that had been cut short thoughtfully. She hadn’t expected she would have to leave the warmth of the fireplace, therefore her almost summery clothes. But if she went to the Student Lounge, then a fireplace would be there as well. In the end vanity decided everything and as the short jeans showed her feet nicely Dana left them on. Entering the student lounge which had taken about 20 minutes to get there due to friends exchanging a few phrases with her on the way Dana grimaced a little. For however big Hogwarts was sometimes there just didn’t seem to be any room for you to retreat and read in peace and quiet. The Student Lounge wasn’t avoid of other students as well. Maybe is she sat before the fireplace and glowered at everyone? Dana grinned at the idea and while holding her book gently started to make her way over towards the fireplace. Her eyes fell on a younger student and the puzzle that she was putting together only to find two puzzle pieces on the ground under the table she was occupying as well. The golden snitch. Well, Dana did her job, even though finding the snitch was the job of the seeker on the puzzle. Knowing from personal experience how infuriating it was to loose only one – or two at this case – puzzle pieces Dana changed her direction and walked over to the table. It was doubtful Filch would be returning the pieces should he find them while cleaning the school. Crouching Dana picked up the two pieces that were already partially covered with the carpet before placing them on the table and smiling at the younger girl. “I think these belong to you?” Dana nodded slightly as she gave the explanation as it might have been weird to see her come over only to crouch and start picking something up from the ground. Had it happened to her, she would have most likely been expecting an explanation as to what was going on. ((Hope you don't mind, but it did say anyone on the top. )
